It was finally here, the moment they had all been preparing for. “Does everyone have their berserker gear?”, Snaff inquired of his team mates. Logan chimed in and said that since he was a guardian he felt he should use clerics. After a lengthy argument in which Snaff valiantly touted the many benefits of berserker gear Logan said that his girlfriend was calling and he had to leave. “Fine, we’ll four man it.” They proceeded to begin the encounter only for Snaff to realize his team wasn’t stacking where he had asked them too. “Wait Rytlock! We have to kill the adds first!” Rytlock proceeded to vainly try to solo Kralkatorrik wth his mainhand sword. Eir was sitting out of range with her longbow, while Caithe was kiting a mob of branded around the room. With the lack of support from his party Snaff was quickly overrun and killed. “Guys, why didn’t you stick to the plan? Rytlock, you didn’t even use your banner. And Eir what the hell is with the longbow and no spotter or frost spirit, this is why I didn’t want to bring a ranger.” Eir retorted “Longbow has good damage, and I stay safely out of range.” “You know what, screw it…I’m tired of carrying you guys through all these dungeons. I’m going back to pvp.” Without a further word Snaff disbanded the party and hasn’t touched any pve content since. So whenever you doubt the validity of stacking, just remember Kralkotorrik is only alive because Destiny’s Edge didn’t use proper dungeon tactics.

A Guide to Phantasm DPS
Hi all,
Since we don’t have a dedicated dungeon guide on the forums yet, I thought I would write up the community consensus on builds and playstyle for dungeons/fractals. I am deeply indebted to many, many members of the mesmer and dungeon forums, but especially colesey, frifox, Jerem, Sandy, and Slurpee. I have come up with very little that is original and mostly just parrot things that they have suggested.
This guide will be covering the phantasm + sword set of meta builds. This has been established, for many reasons, as the optimal setup for dungeons, providing the greatest amount of utility and DPS to your parties. Greatsword/staff/scepter are generally out of the question— I’m fully aware they are useful in some situations, but the debate is done to death and the consensus is that they should not be used in general dungeon running.
PS: Thanks also to Fay, whose html I stole to make organization clearer.

Unfortunately I quit playing this game when the expansion hit in october 2015 and will no longer keep this guide up-to-date, as I will not be returning to GW2 in the future. Sorry folks!
Hello everyone.
This is a guide that I made for the purpose of explaining basic information to those that wish to learn general utility/trait use in PvE on a warrior for primarily solo situations. In this guide I will explain the uses behind our skills, weapons and traits with the intention of maximizing our damage potential when in a solo setting.
I have been soloing dungeons and fractals for over a year now and have also streamed plenty of them. A lot of people ask me on a regular basis for my build while I’m streaming, which gave me the idea of making this thread.
Post 1: Full build link (traits, runes, stat type), healing abilities & elite ability
Post 2: Utilities
Post 3: Foods/nourishment, sigils for weapons, what weapons to use and when to use them
Post 4: Useful consumables worth mentioning
First of all, here is the full build.
Here is a shorter link of the same build, just with a different website that’s easier to edit and use, along with the general rotation for it.
The three specializations you will be taking in solo scenarios are Strength, Arms and Discipline. The specific details for each specialization can be found in the hyperlink above.
Notes:
The traits Furious in Arms and Burst Mastery in Discipline are your two primary grandmaster traits for ensuring that you’re able to use your burst skill off cooldown, as you will need very fast adrenaline gain.
The trait Heightened Focus in Discipline is technically optimal with Furious but the problem with this trait is that because it’s fairly unpredictable when the quickness will trigger, it can be very disorienting and disruptive to the general flow of a combat situation and can be your downfall.
An example of this would be if you’re trying to time your whirlwind to properly evade a hard hitting attack. If you’re under the effects of quickness, it will shorten the channel of all skills by 50% and this will in turn shorten the evade frame of whirlwind. This also happens with riposte (sword offhand block). Use this trait at your own risk, but just know that it’s definitely the best DPS.
Some of our traits in general aren’t very relevant to what we’re doing which is a consequence of this new specialization system. The fact of the matter is the other options aren’t really all that great either.
However, sometimes you’ll fight enemies like dredge, for example, who will apply boons to themselves. In this circumstance you could swap to Destruction of the Empowered for a 3% damage bonus for any boons your enemies have.
Additionally, you can use Vengeful Return for when you’re fighting hordes of trash mobs to almost guarantee your survival even if you happen to down during a fight! Swap traits accordingly depending on the encounter – it’s free to do so anyways!
Healing
Comparisons between our heals to show how much hp/min you heal with them:
Healing Signet – 362 hp every 1 sec * 60 = 21,720 hp/min
Mending – 5240 hp every 20 sec * 3 = 15,720 hp/min
“To The Limit” – 6540 hp every 30 sec * 2 = 13,080 hp/min
Defiant Stance – varies too much
If you don’t need a healing skill during a fight (easy encounter), take “To The Limit” as it will be great to cast at the start of a fight to start at full adrenaline. This way you’ll be able to open with a burst skill for full adrenaline.
If you do need to worry about your health, I suggest taking Healing Signet. It has the most reliable and consistent heal over time and will help you stay alive much more than “To The Limit” will. The active on it has resistance, but for the most part you will be wanting to utilize the passive heal of this skill rather than the active.
Sometimes Defiant Stance is the best option for healing ability. In FotM in particular it can be very helpful, especially in situations when you don’t have the defensive support of aegis from a guardian and/or are low-manning. Defiant Stance can help you go from low to full HP in the blink of an eye, but it can also be risky to use because of the possibility of taking tons of damage while it’s on cooldown.
Elite
-Signet of Rage almost always. This is a source of swiftness, might and fury that lasts for a long time. At least never in solos would you ever want to use warbanner if you are striving for efficiency.

I have also met some great people on Gw2, But since megaserver….. the dark and ugly have taken over map chat. If your experience is different, that simply means you’ve been lucky, that doesn’t mean my experience is not relevant.
I had both, I’ve seen people go out of their way to help others and I’ve seen people being nasty. Nothing new and megaserver might have mixed it up a bit sure but not to the level people seem to think. I mean most of the time I am sure most players spend their time doing the LS and most often then not that meant being in overflows which is really mixed players from different server no different then what the megaservers did.
This has been going on since release too, there was that reddit thread for example when arenanet would disclose what promoted a ban when people ask and mostly the reason would be people being nasty in chat.
Overall I would say this is a pretty friendly community though.
Also you do realise that what said above applies in reverse too and is far from absolute like you claim.
If he didnt experience the same nastiness he might have been lucky and in no way does it discard what you experienced its true but likewise it might be that you where unlucky and that in no way does it discard his experience. Things like the community is nasty or not is a subjective experience and can never be absolute.

Oh no, what will I do without my 2 silver!?
(Is it 2 silver actually? I’ve never payed attention because of how insignificant it is)
I have never even been close to failing Tequatl, I still find it hard to realize why people are saying he’s strong. As I’ve posted on another thread a few weeks earlier – stop trying to get to him 5 minutes before it spawn. It won’t work.
Yes, but now you opened the door to the “I’m supposed to be able to play how I want and I want to show up at the last minute and still get the same rewards!” crowd. Boy I hate that crowd.
Show up to Teq 45min early, get on TS = easy Teq kill.

Im preferring guardian cuz they r a loveable class, pve, pvp, and wvw. So kitten slow tho…
So up until about a week ago you could find me constantly complaining about the endgame content and how gw2 loses so much flavor when you reach 80. Eventually i ended up stopping the game all together because i was so mad at anet. I have found that there are a ton of people in the same situation that i was and so im giving you a quick tip that should improve the game for a lot of players. I am not saying that every player will find satisfaction in this but i certainly did.
So, when i was about to delete the game from my comp, i had this random thought, why don’t i craft a legendary? Of course the task always seemed daunting and impossible but after spending a few hours beginning it, i found that it was very doable. Not only this! but i found that every single thing in the game was JUST as fun as it had been when i first played. There is something about a solid and high goal that makes all the things you do worth it. I used to hate doing hearts now i love them! As with every other thing in the game i found so much more enjoyment in them.
Now it might seem dumb to you when you think about it, but honestly, embarking on the journey to craft a legendary will make your game so much more fun. The best thing is, you don’t have to bother rushing it, because you finally enjoy the things you previously counted as miserable grind fests. Its hard to express just how much I enjoy this game once again.
One very important thing to remember is that gw2 isnt wow, it is designed to be fun from 1-80 just playing the game! and the only reason it loses that flavor is because of goals. but they put those goals right in front of our faces, we just got to go for em!
Try this, if it doesn’t work out for you, it doesn’t matter, but if it does, you just began the journey to re-experience all of gw2 all over again!
Guild Wars 2 is back in the game for me! well it is a game…..but its back in the competitive game of the gaming world! <——-hardly understands himself…..
Side note: This is just one TIP for how to enjoy the game more, im not discounting all of the people asking for more from anet, and especially dont want an argument. Im just trying to show people ways to enjoy the game NOW instead of 3 patchs from now!

Yay another place for my art. This is what I think stacking is. Teamwork.

Congrats. I can almost solo lupi. But every time he goes into the 3rd phase I can’t keep him on the wall right and I get bubbled or something =(. Or I just suck in the other 2 phases
Haha yeah I couldn’t keep him on the wall either so I just drew him in the middle and still just focused on staying under his character model.
As for the above statements I feel the same as regards to with enough practice and preparation you should be able to solo. The problem lies when everyone can solo a boss by mashing 1 on the keyboard then there’s no challenge.
I actually don’t care about selling arah paths or anything. It’s just a personal challenge and a change of pace from group events. I feel it keeps your skills sharp.
Likewise I’m terrible at some honor of the waves paths. Because I almost never do that dungeon. Yet I’m sure there’s players who can solo it easy. Just depends on what you wish to invest time into learning and what makes the game fun.

I still don’t quite get how the fractals rewards work I’m currently having a reward level of 14;
The other night we ran level 14 fractal followed by level 9 and I got two daily rewards;
Last night we ran level 9 into level 10 because we had a newbie guildie with us with no AR and I got only 1 daily reward. When exactly fractals start scaling? At x0 to x9 or at x1 to x0? :c
Des, I know you were trying to explain it the other day, but I’m too dummy, sorry <3
1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50 are the current daily reward tiers.
A guy in my guild has kicked several people from the guild this way. We’ve just taken to calling him an evil overlord.
I couldn’t see a place for feature requests, so here it is. Having the “Kick from guild” option in the party window is just an accident waiting to happen. I have never intentionally kicked anyone from the guild within the party window, but I have done it twice now accidentally. Please move this option onto the guild panel only.
Thanks,
Sounds like things working as intended. You’re supposed to be relegated to a minor role since this is Trahearne’s story not yours
why must you always pick times when I’m either at work, asleep, or both at the same time?
Although I may be able to make the afternoon one since it will be late evening here in EU. Depends on what time I get back from physiotherapy
Dear Anet, devs, community and players,
Thanks for your efforts and your dedication that you have put and are still putting into this game. It is an incredible piece of digital art that in its up and downs has provided hours of enjoyment. Despite what you all may think of it, don’t forget that this beautiful story and this beautiful world have achieved in different ways important results.
Thanks to Guild Wars, people have discovered the beauty of playing a game without feeling stressed, exploring fantasy places that were feeling real at the same time, with plots that would keep you interested and fully immersed.
Thanks to Guild Wars 2, the same happened, though it isn’t always true for all of its aspects.
Now we are getting near the second season of the living story. I don’t know if I’ll be able to play it for various personal reasons, but I want to have faith in you.
Learn from your past mistakes, we have addressed them countless times. Don’t follow the mass. Don’t follow stereotypes like you have in various occasions until now. And especially, create new story by looking at the past of Guild Wars. Hardly other games reach this level of details and lore, so if you need help, you’ll find it there. As a writer and an artist myself, this is the best advise I can give you.
A lot of people have probably seen me on the forum complaining and posting feedbacks. I do it because I care about this game: I’ve never done this for any other game, even if I’m not that much of an online player.
Anet, remember that the community is not all equal. There are players who are still “closed-minded” about games. Those players are the ruin of this game. They are still convinced that a game should work like any other game, with the same mechanics, and we all have seen you managing those players trying to keep a low impact on the game (Fractals and Ascended). Whatever you have succeded or not, it is not my intention to discuss it here. But I’ll give you a piece of advice: don’t always listen to them. Separate good suggestions from bad suggestions.
The same can be done for the economical aspect of the game. Please Anet, don’t forget what you were trully standing for. I understand that you need money to run the company, to pay all the devs that work on this game, and for that I won’t complain anymore. But I’ll surely, infact every member and player of this community should surely, advise you whenever you’ll cross the line in a bad direction, that is, a way too greedy and economical centered direction. I believe there are passionated people who work with you, that gladly creates content for free via Living Story. Thank you all.
Don’t let other companies influence you. Think with your own head.
I leave you with this video. I hope it can inspire you as it has inspired me. In my opinion, it has the very essence of the game. What it should be, what it has been, and what it partially is even now.
