3)Shadow refuge – “Stealth granted by Shadow Refuge stacks with itself provided players don’t break stealth first; players standing in its area of effect will have about 10 seconds of stealth accumulated by the time the field is gone.” – that’s the most annoying thing, you can’t even finish others because thief cloaks them as well, and can easily res up to 5 people, you would need massive aoe to suppress heal ny shadow refuge and kill thief/downed player if he’s not being revived

I really want to know if it’s a bug or it works like intended, because during beta it constantly transferred conditions from nearby allies, now it’s either transfers one or does nothing.

Languages on English servers

Like people already said it’s EUROPE servers, not ENGLISH, the fact that you got into a group with people who were Hungarian and spoke in their native language doesn’t make them guilty. Maybe they speak understand and speak English, just they preferred to speak between themselves, there’s no language restrictions that forbid people to speak in any language.
A bit different thing with WvW, with that I agree with you, EU servers are basically much weaker that DE/FR/US because we have huge division between people with different native languages. but then again, I’m not against people who doesn’t speak English, or doesn’t want to, It’s their decision, they’ve bought the game, they can play as they like, nobody should be forced into something.
@CapN Biku if you make servers with each language the community will be even more separated, we already have servers that have very low population, then it would be even worse case when there’s around 300-500 people on server + each server would require full translation into their language.

I think life siphon would be better as a melee attack, as having this low damage ranged attack has poor synergy with the hard hitting melee auto attack. Turning life siphon into a single hit attack (maybe with a short leap or something, as we lack both movement skills and combo finishers) I feel would make this a more useful skill when you consider how the other 2 dagger skills operate together. (Obviously the damage/life steal and perhaps even the CD would have to be rebalanced if this change happened, but that’s a dev’s job.)

How about necro stabs and enemy once and for the next few seconds he will be leeching hp from it unless enemy get out of range (600?)

Deathly swarm: has solid range, blinds people, transfers conditions, all good, literally the only problem with this skill is the bug with it only transferring one condition instead of three.

Um, I may be mistaken, but shouldn’t it behave like that? It does transfer 3 conditions when there’s someone to bounce on.

About DS#4 – I think it would benefit if during life transfer your life pool stopped depleting.

Blood is power – another suggestion is to have it as “unremovable” skill.

Corrosive cloud – will disagree on this, while it may have lack of condition rate, in pvp it gives good strategical advantage on capture points, where enemies don’t run around much, it makes them hit weaker and heal not so efficiently + it gives pretty long poison area for projectiles and finishers.

Wells in overall – personally I’m not fond of them at all, short duration and long CD doesn’t seem like they’re worth something, or let’s just say they’re not my play style.

Lich Form – I would also add #5 skill has a long cast time, usually when it reaches the target there’s either no enemy to remove boons from, or no ally to remove conditions from, since nobody stands in place like a fool.

i dont agree only on the weapon reskin thing. Its without sense, you see a warrior with a GS, and you start take AOE damage from distance … its not funny ^^

Lutharr said that he doesn’t mean to change skin to a different weapon, personally I think they should stay in the same category, no axes that look like swords and vice versa, just different weapon skins like the ones that you can get during events, just those you can get using sp

Ability that there’s a (10-25%) chance that conditions from necro won’t be removed? That would be nice. Also sorry for bringing WoW up, but I remember some skill that would damage player if he tries to remove conditions(Warlock`s something), I think we would greatly benefit from it since after wasting half of the battle applying conditions on enemy to see them being removed by 1 click makes you feel useless.

I agree that skill points should have other use after getting all skills then basically ussing them to get legendaries. While I don’t support the idea of adding new skill effects that not cosmetic, anything else like getting skins/titles/mics items would be really nice.

Yeah I know, besides there are a lot or web-sites which gave their own pretty good translations for skills, lore and stuff. But as I’ve mentioned I don’t know if it would be easy to add cyrillic to the game, and second I don’t think anet would make half-translated game, if they would add another language they would translate the game fully.

I don’t know what causes it and whether it’s a bug or not, but it happened to me sometimes in pvp when thief just stands in front of me and shoots volleys in my face and I can’t see him nor target him(only see the bullets flying out of thin air). Which is actually really annoying,

Dude, you keep bringing these kittens out of content.. The alpha testing will always be done by the testers paid to do there job, what i am merely trying to suggest is that once all there testing has been done..for e.g.
They finish a new patch update, testers are happy, dev’s happy, ect..
Now were as they would have launched it now, they dont.
They release it into a “test realm” where the players will purposely try find bugs to give feedback to the Anet team so that they can fix these bugs before it goes live..
When something could be such a game changing move, completely OP a certain proff, whatever has not been put live for exploitations..

Seriously. I also play scepter, it is not the point, I am not the D/D advocate here.
I am not saying D/D Elems should have EVERYTHING at ranged but that they should have just one single even low damaging anytime attack just to be able to some something when they cannot go into melee.

I played every single bloody class since BW1, Warriors (or actually most profs) are not nearly as effective at range as in melee but they have the option to do something.

You have ride the lightning, burning speed and magnetic grasp to close the gap and vapor blade has range of 600, I don’t get it, you need something with range 1200?

Although i would much prefer to just have basic pet commands.

Even logically – Hunter pet listens to command since it’s trained, Engy and use device to switch how turret works, Necro minions literally obey the master and have no will whatsoever.

I personally don’t like shadow fiend. It would be nice to have the option to run 3 bone fiends, 3 bone worms or (traited) 9 bone minions to give that feeling of gw1 and a small disposable army. A true necromancer wouldnt have creation restrictions.

5 golems! jk that would be nice too, don’t even think that would we OP for any class, but then again you can make some penalties the more skills of the same type you have. And then again it’s not gw2 style, so I think this will never happen)

Talking about bones fiend or bones minions? :P Bones fiend damage isn’t bad yeah, sadly it hard to say right now as it doesn’t attack half of the time.

About blood fiend, sure it gives you 20 thoughtness, and can work with some traits. I tried it many time in pvp/wvw, I wanted to use it. But no, If I want to remove condition, I will ether use the staff #4 or CC heal.

Not to mention you have to spend 30 points in blood magic to be able to remove conditions and that still didn’t work as good as I thought it would be. Maybe if our minions damage or survivability would rise the more minions we had under control, then it would be nice to have it as an addition to the horde=)

Also I think there should me more town clothes available besides gem store, though I recently stumbled upon a mini quest or something that gave me bandana (and yay it was bugged for sylv), but also that each armor crafting profession should be able to made at least basic town clothes or some vendors selling parts for karma/gold.

I think once the AI will be debugged, MM build will be a beast.

I did run one for 2 weeks in WvW, and it wwas efficient. I could burst some people down with bone minions. But it was unreliable. kitten AI!

Agreed, as I’ve mentioned a lot of times before, MM has a great potential, even with all bugs and stuff I handled really well in pvp(when minions were actually doing something)

Bone fiend is just too slow firing, and you have a long cast time to activate it. You have to be use a spell that will only immobilize 5 sec later, if it ever land. Not sure landed 10% of them in WvW. 5 sec later, most people are out of reach for our slow kitten scorpion.

Though I would say that bone minion have good damage by itself.

Shadow fiend is a tank, so right away it’s bad for WvW. You need damage, not tank. With the 50% hp traits , they rarely ever die anyway, except in AoE fest. At least his ability cast time is instant, but it still has a 2 sec wind up for using it.

Good point, doesn’t really help being able to instant cast, when usually you need to blind immediately to avoid heavy punch.

Our blood friend only pro is short cooldown with traits (16 sec). But you have to cast it, hope it doesn’t die in 2 hit, maybe get 600 hp from auto attack. You consume it, and it heals for a pretty low amount if you compare to others. Ex : it will heal for around 4k on activate, while CC can heal for like 7k and remove cond.

I’d say that blood fiend is addition for MM for such traits like +toughness and take away conditions.

@gamefreak, yeah, rather than having cd after minion death, it would be much better to have cd from last cast. Bone minions aren’t that bad as well, they would be even greater addition with ability to summon second pack after first two blew up

That isn’t so easy to do, not to mention you’ll have to gather crew to translate every single text and actors for voice cover. But I think there’s also a bit issue to implement a cyrillic script in the game.

Every minion has their advantages, bone minions have pretty good damage from explodes, wyrm has good damage output + retreat option, golem has good hp + cripple + knockdown, as for others I agree that some of them need some tweaks like bone minion should immobilize faster of instantly, not wait for next shot when enemy is already out of reach and well shadow minion is fine with it`s blindness option and basically is all rounder…but could be better=)

Good point, spectral armor is somewhere in between wall and walk, of course you can argue that with spectral wall you need to cast it and then run through it, but still, either longer protection for armor needed (Now 6s armor, 5s wall).

If you watch your timers, you can get more than 5s from wall. Wall is up for 9 seconds, and its protection lasts for 5. So when the first protection ends, run through the wall again and get 5 more seconds.

(Before the latest patch, I believe you could run back and forth and stack protection duration, which was a bit of an exploit and they removed it. If an enemy, however runs back and forth through it, their vulnerability does stack. As far as I remember.)

So that’s actually 10 seconds of protection every 40 seconds. (If you can move, of course.)

Yes but spectral armor is more of a activate and forget skill, you don’t always have ability or time to run around your wall=)

I support having all minions regen health while out of combat. If the Flesh Golem needs to retain it’s “elite” status as a result, make it so the Flesh Golem has a permanent, unremovable Regenerate boon on it.

Flesh golem is already big leap from other minions, I don’t think that it should have passive regen, then it would be a bit OP.

I always like caster classes with highest damage dealing abilities (and that always meant lowest survivability). While daggers and axes might be not the weapon of choice for mages, the reason behind it it gw2 is that so every class can both have close quarter combat ability and long range combat abilities (same as warriors use bows, guardian scepters, hunters swords etc.) plus it’s not holy trio gameplay where mages would be always protected by tank and healed by…well…healer.

What I agree is that when speaking about necromancer, I would associate wil someone who throws all kind of poisons, conditions and weaknesses from far away, or the one who controls army of undead/spectral beings fro obey his will. While we both have such possibilities it seems that we can’t dive deep enough.

I won’t speak anything about minions because atm I can’t tell whether they are good or bad due to their AI and stuff. On the other hand conditions imo are the best trait that describe necromancers, they should be the most powerful spells due to their ability to corrupt the caster itself. For now I like how Corrupt Boon and Epidemic works, but other skills such as Blood is power and poison cloud are “fine” but I would like to see more potent corruption, how about elite corruption? (Speaking of it I don’t see bleeding something necro would use much, I would prefer Blood is power would apply poison instead of bleed.)

So as a reply to the topic – I understand that due to mechanics of gw2 not everything can be implemented into game, but then again it seems that there so much more potential in necro with condition skills rather than arguing whether you should use axe, do more raw damage, or go for toughness & vitality and be a tank.

No, but if we are to have an extra ranged weapon, I would rather suggest having a sword for range 900 than to alter a dagger to 900. I expect elementalists have always least weapons than any other profession and elements swapping are the reason. So if we get extra weapon (like sword), others will be using halberds, morning star etc.

Though as uknortherner already mentioned it get’s annoying to see that people take the name literally and hope to see only gvg in this game, the only gvg I believe would be appropriate is 2 guild from different servers put their influence at stake and fight for it.

2 & 3 – Agree that summoned weapons are basically just for fun, even with added stats from last update, having the, switchable would be great addition even without rethinking skills I think, that would also basically resolve #1, having shield that you can switch to become invulnerable and do other perks then switch back to staff(or something else) and then back again if needed, or switching between daggers for close range attacks and bow to finish of distant enemies etc.
4 – use of utility slots doesn’t make sense, but added feat like 50% of attack will miss or reflect projectiles would be good imo

I agree that siphoning health is very weak. I’ve noticed it since beta that even in pve you basically keep the same health if you siphon health (incoming damage >= health gained). I’ve read that siphoning trait is bugged, but still even if it was working properly I don’t think that it would change something significantly.

The best results were with having minions siphon hp, siphoning with every hit + sigils of vampirism (long story short – everything you can throw in siphoning), and still best case was if you were losing hp little by little.

Given that siphoning is one of the necromancer signature skills, it’s a bit disappointing to see that this feat performs so bad.

Necros won’t get OP because of minion regen, since they will regen health only out of combat it will be basically the same as re-summoning them, just with less annoyance. Stand alone minion won’t and shouldn’t be as powerful as pet, they should be powerful in group and act like zerg (imo given their low hp).

Good idea as well, i thought about it recently and it came to my mind that I`d like to see scheme similar to MAG or as you just explained. Try to explain it briefly:
5 people = 1 group with 1 leader
4 groups = 1 squad with 1 leader being a leader of a group
2 squads = 1 platoon with 1 leader being a leader of a squad
(sorry about the names if something is bigger than the other)
platoon leader gives commands to his group and squad leaders, squad leaders give orders to their groups and other group leaders under their command. Not the ideal way of course, just a raw thought, but I hope you understood what I`ve meant=)

Somebody will give you a better explanation, but as far as I read it`s a bug, which kinda said to be fixed, but then again I tried to do it yesterday and still can finish players in DS, same goes with revive, but many point out that you can get stuck after that.
That`s said, not sure if it`s a good idea to allow us to finish in DS, but I`d really like to see prolonged stability duration from foot in the grave, because even if you quickly enter-exit DS you still have 1-2 sec in the end when your stability wears off.

What do you mean by playstyle, I think attunements give you 4 playstyles. Take staff for instance – Fire – damage and burn, Water – chill, apply vurn, heal and regen, Air – blind, daze, knockback and gain swiftness, Earth – apply bleed immobilize, cripple and weaknes, Avatar state – eh…w8…

Well, yes, but it`s to balance class, same as with engy, he has only 3 weapons of choice without the ability to swap. but contrary to that he has a lot of kits.
