So we’ve seen 2 clips of where the CEO doesnt even know what they are talking about. The is no future to WvW.

WvW was flawed thanks to this and the neglect.
The biggest flaw being generic servers, the second being regional servers.

I think we need a new mode. It could be Alliance vs Alliance, or Faction vs Faction, or even Race vs Race.

Create new servers, these servers will be AvA specific, not general PvE.
Have different race cities be the staging grounds and main base for each Alliance.
Each zone map will have several towers which will have to be captured in order for an Alliance to claim the map.

Not only does this not limit us to just 3 maps, it allows more players to play at any one time. You’ll have the whole of Tyria to fight over.

This is of course just one idea, post your own replacement modes.

And of course these are just examples of different things, cos if they dont have the resources to update WvW, no way in hell will they have the resources to create a new game mode!

Get your fat fingers away from my server. It stays the way it is IMHO.

Well i also noticed the ranged cause of the patch really seems WAY to op now lol, melee cant even get close anymore people now just go full pew pew to win.
I mean necros with ppt gear doing 30 k within a couple of seconds and i know a couple of more examples.
So maybe some tweaks can fix things up ^^.

You haven’t noticed perma quickend guard blobs?

Yesterday after the patch it was much better with the skill delay. If there was
a change not mentioned in the notes, thank you anet. Otherwise I’m perplexed because I didn’t changed anything and my ping stayed between 40 and 60 like in the 14 days before.

That was the general feeling when asking on ts how the rest of the raid was noticing any skill delay. I don’t have contact to the opposing servers so I don’t know about them.

I am curious about how many numbers your guild/server/other guilds and other servers had. I experienced same lag yesterday, currently playing on fsp when a blob wanted to fight us (or when we blobbed up with another guild to fight 3 ways). I think the problem is still there, is just a matter onhow many ppl are fighting inthe same map at a certain time

It was at primetime on EB with a full map from all 3 sides (us, Kodash and Deso).
I went to EB on purpose with ping plotter already running and I was prepared to try out a view things (VPN, disabling not needed processes, etc…)

Let me know what you think, if anyone else has had this same speculation from experiencing then I think we’re pretty much confirming that the stab change is to blame. Besides that the lag has been around ever since that last patch, so it really just makes too much sense.

Well it was lagging before too… Its just way worse. Yesterday was my worst trip to EB in a long time. Unplayable. People where warping all over the place and even when not in a zerg, everything was delayed. Not just plain 2-3s delays, but completely random with a 50% chance of not working at all. Skills with a cast time? Uuuuuuugh… Couldnt even 1v1 anyone.

The really funny part?

EoTM worked perfectly before I joined EB. I suppose that shows Anet priorities -_-

I don’t ever go to Eotm, but you’re saying there’s not lag there? So it’s just the WvW servers that have been neglected all this time, and yea this stab lag is recent, but there has always been a general skill lag for over a year now mostly in 3 way blob fights, or any fights in SMC. Which goes to show how bad the server instability was before this recent patch, which just made it 10x worse. And from the lack of response from Anet about it we can expect no updates any time soon™

Over a year? Not for me. There has been the occasional times after an update. Then they have generally sorted out in a few days. Nor have I had folks on my server mention it outside of large 3 way fights.

On my server it’s everyone even outside of 3 way fights. It’s enough when any blob is on the map and all the skill lag things start. Guilds cancelling theire raids already and our commander playing other games.

There have been overwhelming amounts of post and threads calling g for new maps. Not entirely sure how you missed that. But why shouldn’t we have both, new maps and a lag fix?

Do you realy think people will wait for the HoT release to get a playable product again?

A new map is totaly fine but it is also clear that less and less player (and paying customer for the expansion) will be left over to use the kitten thing.

The stability and condition changes going hand in hand with the release of the desert map so I will take it in correlation.

Anet: Supportable WvW Map Populations in HoT?

In the upcoming expansion do you have any plans to introduce server/hardware optimizations that can handle fights involving the numbers of players that are going to be allowed on a single WvW map at any given time? Since launch I don’t think I’ve experienced a single 3-way-map-queue WvW fight that hasn’t produced intense, lengthy skill lag that permeates throughout the entire map, affecting those who are not even near the causal fight (at least not until large numbers of players start to become defeated due to their inability to fight for their own survival because few, if any, skills will execute successfully). It’s never been a matter of “if” these fights will eventually occur, but rather “when”. I know this issue primarily only rears its ugly head in T1 and T2 WvW maps, but if you’re going to allow such numbers to operate on a single map simultaneously, wouldn’t you like them to be able to properly interact with each other when the poop hits the fan? Why introduce a possible problem into a system that cannot manage its impact? Thanks.

There is no change in the number maps. The 3 current bordermaps getting replaced (later rotated) by 3 new desert themed bordermaps.

I think it looks awesome quite frankly. WvW since the beginning has literally just been mindless zerging and a numbers game where you just run around the map capping things then uncapping and repeating that. The new stuff looks like it will actually make zergs think*gasp* such a foreign concept I know instead of just blobbing. You will actually be able to pull of ambushes with things like the no fall damage or stealth from the sand storm etc. I think the map is going to open up massive amounts of opportunities that simply weren’t possible with the old maps. I’m sorry the zergs will actually have toy switch their brains on at times.

Everything that is good for the “small guy” is even better for the “big guy”. There is
no way to nerf the zerg (we can’t even define what a zerg is….).

But lets talk again when the zerg built a dozen shield generators in open field to make short work of your havoc team (or whatever) or when he, because he can, controls all shrines and your small group is getting even more disadvantaged.

Regarding the Oasis event: while in prime-time it will be a funny event but outside of prime time outnumbered defender will be getting rekt big time.

- Remove PVE from WvW.
What Arenanet do ?
- More PVE in WvW…

How do you propose them do this? Make keeps empty circles to cap without a lord?

You want straight up PvP? Hit spvp or organised GvG’s or duels.

Having other objectives than “Stand ontop of each other and walk into other blob” is a good thing for the vast majority of us.

Partly because people such as yourself would never run around without 50 people if there wasn’t other objectives.

Also how is there MORE PvE? It’s just edited PvE with the addition of a new mechanic.

Didn’t know that there is any one even playing WvW on Vabbi…

I disagree, It has levels. That doesn’t automatically make it bad. You should be punished for standing on the edge of a cliff with no stability.

It’s not like EOTM or Skyhammer as it’s only parts of the map that you can die from. Your also not ported back to spawn and can be ressed and it brings falling damage traits into use, as they’re more useful now.

Automated turrets that shoot you. Engi has these already, To be honest the keeps are super easy to take. It’s always the same routine of walk to gate build rams and stack. The turrets will help bring a stop to that and make shrines have a use, I’m all for it.

“Big boom cannon” they already stated havoc groups are really good for this, I’m not sure how you think superior numbers are going to win. Even if they did, it’s not like they don’t already. I don’t think we can judge this till we see it in action.

Regarding keep lords being “Fun to fight” currently you can just kitten it with autoattacks and ignore defenders if they’re significantly less. Now you are required to pay attention and get punished for not. The lich keep lord mechanics sounded really cool, If you don’t pay attention you’ll wipe the rest of your team. It forces people to try to get organised.

It also helps the defenders if they play correctly, The wind prison ability is the perfect time to nuke several people stuck within it. They can’t get ressed from downed.

You say WvW players love to fight npcs, Obviously sarcastically. The truth is though the ones who don’t, won’t fight them now but might fight them after. The ones who do will fight them now and after. It doesn’t actually change anything, you fight them now.

The only difference will be that the new lords will create more diverse lord room fights than before. That’s a good thing. The keep lord that stealths could be a real problem for your average zerg who just spam autoattacks on the lord and ignore defenders. However an organised group will focus defenders first or slot anti stealth skills.

I think it’s a big step in the right direction. They’re making objectives actually worth taking, Rather than just for points.

You’ll always have EB if you actually think it’ll be too unplayable for you lol.

And you have already EOTM for fancy mechanics. We DONT need it in version 2.0.

After watching “the video” (the presentation they streamed), for me it seems like an eotm +skyhammer+pve combo.

Ledges to knock enemies off.
Automated Turrets which shoots you.
Big Boom Cannon which destroys every enemy outer gate (basically opening every tower), so you can capture everything faster when you have superior numbers (timezones for da win!).
Keep Lord, which are.. “fun to fight”.
’Cos wvw players love to fight npcs, yup.

The map is nice, it’s beautiful, but.. I fear the mechanics will make it close to unplayable for me

Please Anet ship this map without those mechanics!

It appears that the former ‘Armor Trader’ who sold PVT exotics for solely badges of honor has now been re-named ‘Armor Master.’

The former ‘Armor Master,’ who sold 6 stat-combos of exotics for coin plus badges, no longer exists, and the goods she sold are no longer available in WvW.

Does anyone know if this claimed goods the former ‘Armor Master’ sold are still available from another merchant? If so, who/where?

If not, I’m sorely disappointed that I did not buy all of my zerker exotics yesterday, as I had been saving up and am just hitting 80 today with nearly 2000 badges. It’d be useful to know of such axing of vendors in advance.

Nothing got axed. Just read the quote you posted again.

I can’t find those goods on the other merchants. I’ve talked to all of the vendors I can find in the Borderlands, Eternal Battlegrounds, and EotM. Have these goods appeared to you on the remaining merchants?

The Vendor who is selling exotic armor is called “Armor Master [Armorsmith]”.
I can find him in all borders, citadel and EB.
I think the armor vendor who sold lvl 70 armor got removed but that isn’t a loss.

so your problem is because you are full zone we ask other guild to support us and we start blobing now:D:D And yeah btw you know how hard is to take t3 fully sieged keep in primetime…
And btw the post was about XT SPRTA Dsun guilds that pride theirselves in gvgs and to run alone… If we run alone in 20-30 face us no need to blob us to try to wipe us. Right now servers are pretty bad if you have fun pressing skill 1 and waiting up to 5-10sec to activate your skill yeah GG.

As for sfr decision this week it is internal matter so no point for people to bring it here.. We have our comunity site and ts bring it there…

Neither XT, SPRT or Dsun had a raid on that border. Until you can name the two guilds that had infact a raid there you should be very silent.

Anyway, I was on BB BL yesterday and FD seem to be a pretty big Guild. You never let us rest with your 50+ raid guild.
