AikijinX- [Mada] [MILF] [HUNT] 7.3k Thief Hours
Defend Your Back
Nope, not gonna happen, i’m not using others builds, aswell as condi builds. and what does professional d/p thief means? Is he got paid for his playing?
Also, i think that WvW is not a place to compete with others because of some freaking runes and sigils and buffs from WvW. if you mind trying your condi build in PvP you can contact me, (unfortunately (fortunately) there aren’t perplexity runes in PvP so this cheesy build isn’t really viable there.
Also, i’ve seen your video, and, sorry to say, haven’t been impressed with its gameplay at all.On subject, i was talking about active effect of signet, which is the most questioned part of it, because a passive is still passive, and someday, with the devs words aout adding new skills, every class would have that “+stat” signet.
Not going to argue. Thanks for your input
Try to make a video of this.
Permastealth vs Permaconfusion.
Exploit vs Exploit.
Certainly interesting to see. But normal people just run past.Should’ve added a third Permaevade thief to the mix to make it
Exploit vs Exploit vs Exploit.
I’d pay to watch that trainwreck.
Coloxeus had clips of his S/D- S/D but he didn’t put them in. because the video would’ve been too long. S/D is inferior to my build. I won 5-0.
So, what would be the active effect of signet, 180 condition damage alone is not very impressive suggestion.
As for me, i don’t care about condition damage on thief at all, because beside venoms, we can only stack bleeds on a very long way, which in turn, could be easily removed.
So, if we think about condition signet, we should introduce its active effect, iroving the tactic of condition builds. Like stealth (but this is too straight mechanic for signet), or boons (regen, protection, vigor).
But anyways, i’m refusing to use condis on thief.
The signet would increase condition Duration for 33%, and condition damage+100. And you would reconsider not getting into conditions after watching my Thiefsmer P/P build. I am fighting Coloxeus- Professional D/P Thief.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d6o9mRmvLc
How would you guys feel about Anet adding a Condition signet in the next Meta Thief patch? I would like to hear opinions.
-AikijinX
how are you applying so much confusion on them? the runes have a 20% with a 15sec cool down…. and daze is 1/4sec so you’d have to time it perfectly to get it to work… unless you do …. then i’m super impressed
I am timing when I use my interrupts, but yes as soon as the initial attack hits me, I press my steal, which then applies 5-8 stacks on my opponent depending on a successful beginning interrupt. So with D/P it’s all about waiting. And just because you have low Health does not at all mean you give up. Just like how I turned a couple projected losing battles around to a win. You have access to many Proc’ed stealth’s and utility.
I’d like to see this build doing some roaming or zerg surfing, not just duels in battlegrounds because the runes are not available in sPvP.
I would do some recordings while roaming and semi zerging, but my laptop is bad enough as it is. I wouldn’t be able to record efficiently and play effectively. This build can and hass the ability to fight 2v1 and 3v1. I have done it already with many in this match up Dragon brand/ Yaks Bend. The Ricochet trait via Trickery is very strong when interrupting multiple targets. If they put this rune in SPvP they will nerf the confusion damage to the ground.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Thiefsmer-Build-Video/first#post2802215
This is for P/P, Alot better than any P/D spec out there.
i didnt had a chance to record all our duels… but i think AikijinX has more wins… if i will include my double S/D 5 lose streak
well i think S/D is impossible to beat this Thiefsmer build imo… gj mate
My man, it’s okay
Atleast you got some good clips of us BOTH winning, and losing. This Thiefsmer build is by no means invincible. But it can get you wins 90% of the time. And it can get you out of trouble 90% of the time. You have access to multiple stealth;s. Including (Descent of shadows)- Stealth on fall damage., but of course I changed that to power of inertia for my duel with Colo.
~You’re the best man thanks again
Hey guys this is the Thief in the video. If you’re interested in my Thiefsmer build check out my build here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Thiefsmer-Build-Video/first#post2790274
To answer your question @Lokheit I was using taking advantage of all my Thief stealths, Via Hidden Thief trait(Shadow arts), and Instinctual Response Trait (Trickery). Utilities: Hide in shadows/ Shadow Refuge/ Caltrops/ Skale Venom/ Bassilick Venom. I do not implement Blinding powder, although i can.
Thanks, I’ve been thinking about adapting this runeset to my current sharer build for some time because I really want to use dual pistols and this is a good excuse, though as I said I’m not sure about making that step as I’m almost sure this will be nerfed soon (and the runeset isn’t available in PvP).
I think Spider Venom would be better than Skale, the total damage through ticks is much higher (skale gives you a very slight spike over it, I think it isn’t worth it for the skill cooldown and 30 seconds of poison >>> 5 seconds of 3 torment, that basically is 4.5 bleeds if the opponent moves) and you can negate a lot of passive healing with it. Honestly I think the only utility venoms worth using are Spider (specially on sharer builds as it benefits a lot from leeching) and Devourer. Ice Drake and Skale are on garbage territory IMO.
Yeah I totally understand where you’d think Skale venom was useless. But I only use Spider venom when dueling Perma regen meta warriors, Elementalists, Guardians, and Rangers. Thats the only use for poison. If i used it in a battle against a thief 8/10 they have condition removal in stealth. Which coloexus had. Which is why I didn’t choose spider venom, he’d clear the condition, and the healing would go back to 100 percent rather then the -33%. The Skale venom increased my bleed damage, so thats all i needed, because my auto attack was already a bleed, so why not torment with vulnerability, on top of my utility skill caltrops. You’ve got to prepare for each duel, and know your opponent. And often assume.
New Video up. All Credits to Coloxeus!
Coloxeus thanks for the editing, and recording man. Mean’t alot. I know i would’nt have been able to record and still play with semi good quality.. I LOVE the 13:40ish part – 14:09. Makes me LOl every time.

Thief is the only class with out a “Burn” condition. Lets replace the Ice skale venom with Burn skale venom. That would be a lot better. Or change P/X #2 skill to apply burning.
I hope I answered your question in full
Just make the Infiltrator’s Arrow rate like all other teleports. Warriors leaps run faster than this arrow. While flying arrow I run a third of the distance teleport.
That is a good point.
The bleeds rounded up to 6sek are good dps if you meet a player that actually knows how to play and does not spam like crazy with confu on him.
The poison is not and never will be for sheer dps. It is for healingreduction… And vs Metawarriors and Rangers or Eles, you will need it.
Never talking about baddies. Those you will make explode with this build.
I made an elementalist blow up literally last night. They road the lightning to me( interrupted), then that aura shield(interrupted), went into fire element and did that fire ring and straight line which i anticipated(interrupted) equipped spider venom, and poisoned them, when they switched to water, thats when they killed themself. But as i said I like the tip, I have tried sigil of agony for the extra bleed duration and considering the fact I rarely swap weapons it would be of no use. I win 8/10 of my fights roaming. So I think I know what i’m doing by now. 2.1k+ hours on this class. I better know.
Build updated to Dire set.
Build link, perhaps?
I am trying to understand why a pure Dire set would be advantageous over pure Carrion, or even a mix/match of both?
=\ I didn’t really want to go into that gw2 calculator. I’m so lazy.. But i will do it, just give me one moment, but to answer your question carrion if i am not mistaken deals condi/power/vit. While dire uses condi/ vitality/ toughness. If I was fighting a melee class who do you think would survive a bit longer, someone running carrion, or dire? My armor is at 2.9k w/ 19k hp. Condition damage doesn’t focus on power or precision.
Here you go: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fYAQNAqaFmQ4e4UIVT59wBFLzqrQUB-jUCB4iCi0CBikGMTqIasl1FRjVJjIqW3AzYmIq2jATKgFlGB-w-Note Hp pool isn’t 19k here due to World buffs.
You have rabid rings, earings…so there are not dire combo stats in the game? And what about the back item, where did you get it with dire combo, pls answer, I searched on google, asked everyone, nobody knows.
Yes that is what I wear, the dire/rabid earring a(Plagues idol, and vallog’s demise)- I will get the other Dire/Rabid earring (Matriach’s quill) next week, 2 dire/rabid rings(Vassars band and Ralena’s band), and Dire/Rabid Amulet(Symbol of the deceiver). And there isn’t a Dire spine guard out quite yet in game. So everything is pretty accurate. Right now I wear a back piece that grants 22 toughness/16 healing power/ +16 condition damage. I will be converting to Dire/rabid back piece when it appears.
(edited by AikijinX.6258)
Sigil of bursting applies 6% more critical damage. Use poison on weaponswap and 10% bleedingduration in both sets to round up to 6s bleeds instead to apply more conditionpressure.
Thats a good tip, but my bleeds are only there just to act as a secondary condition. My main damage comes from Confusion. Thanks for the feedback. And actually i did a test with poison and I get 254 per tick with 8 stacks of corruption.
I agree with Excalibur, this was by far no means a troll thread. Mobility needs to be upped for thieves. Warriors can out run a thief any day, with their leaps, whirls, dashes. etc.
This was my attempt to science up that warrior vs thief speed debate a few weeks ago.
Okay, well maybe it is the situations that I am in to begin with, and my lack of gap closer utilities.. But when i chase troll warriors. They always seem to be 20-30meters ahead of me
Well, not quite. At least I think not quite.
Dire from Carrion
Dire provides a +358 point gain in Toughness, increasing Damage Reduction by 8.32% and the Effective Health Pool by 13.57%; while sustaining a -358 point loss in Power, decreasing Effective Power by 27.77%.Carrion from Dire
Carrion provides a +358 point gain in Power, increasing Effective Power by 38.45%; while sustaining a -358 point loss in Toughness, reducing Damage Reduction by 8.32% and the Effective Health Pool by 11.95%.Both of these stats only apply to direct damage, taken and given.
Builds
Power
- Dire: 931
- Carrion: 1289
Toughness
- Dire: 2995
- Carrion: 2637
Effective Power
- Dire: 969.57
- Carrion: 1342.4
Effective Health Pool
- Dire: 29697
- Carrion: 26147
Damage Reduction
- Dire: 38.70
- Carrion: 30.38
Dire has less “bang” for your buck. Quite literally. (pewpew xD)
I think I would rather do more damage and get hit for slightly more, than do less damage and get hit for slightly less.
Again, mathing is not my strong suit. xD
Hahah okay okay, well you don’t need power with conditions. Bottom line :p
I agree with Excalibur, this was by far no means a troll thread. Mobility needs to be upped for thieves. Warriors can out run a thief any day, with their leaps, whirls, dashes. etc.
“For this build you don’t need anything in the deadly arts or critical strikes tree.
0/0/30/10/30 is what is going to be one of the most viable with P/P”Why P/P? Condition damage only lends itself to the 1 skill, so dagger would be a viable option providing more mobility and an additional stealth mechanism. Is there something about the 4 and 5 skills that you prefer as it wasn’t clear in the video you used anything but the 1 skill.
Thanks!
The auto attack is crucial you need to keep constant bleed and condition damage on your opponent, wait for them to open, or their chain attack, then simply interrupt. Then auto attack again wait for an opening, then interrupt. The more this happens the better of you will be. This build is about patience and waiting. Think of it as you are on the defensive at all times waiting for your chance to strike, and when you do it will be nasty. And that strike is considered the confusion stacks. It’s all strategic.
Warning: I’m not known to math well, so by all means, please double-check.
Using AikijinX’s build as a base, it appears that using Dire over Carrion (weapons + armor only) provides the following trade-offs. (All numbers are approximate.)
- Toughness: + 8% damage reduction
- Power: - 27% effective power (direct damage)
- Effective Health (EHP): + 13%
Vitality and Condition Damage remain the same (for all intents and purposes).
So essentially you’d be getting 800 more damage reduction, and 1300 more hit points. More bang for your buck. And yes Vit and condi remain the same.
And what do you think about rabid (cond, toughness, precision) with undead rune, I saw it on youtube and it looks good, less tanky, but huge bleeding dmg?
Refer to my build. Dire armor trumps Carrion and Rabid. You don’t need precision or power for condition spec. With my build you maintain good armor rating, condition damage, and vitality.

Build updated to Dire set.
Smells of D/P abuse
thx, and where I can find recipes for dire exotic armor?
You can find the dire armor stats (Condition/Toughness/Vitality) on the trade post. They’re called Travelers armor or Errol armor
carrion sneak attack is 900-1200 dmg. how is it on dire?
My condition damage base is 1600+ for Dire armor. Add the ascended rings Vassar band and ralena’s band (travelers rings) and the ascended earring plague idol, and exotic vallog’s demise, with exotic travelers amulet. You achieve pretty good condi damage.
personaly i consider this build an total waste ( on thief), specialy for wvwvw :
reasons :
this build will lack burst, all damage comes from conditions, an glass cannon (thief /warrior / mesmer ) will not stay and fight against you, because they cannot burst you , and your only chance to kill them, is if they stay and fight.
. Against other tanky builds , an duel will take few minutes, so some ppls will consider an waste of time to fight against you ( like some warriors nowdays, that cannot harm you, but they regen 1000 hp /sec and have 3400 armor)
P/D // P/P builds are poor in chasing opponents, so most of ppls can leave combat before they lose, V/T/cond armor, will have very low direct damage, you will have totaly 1000 attack – 1300 ? , and the tactic is to stack conditions with CnD /sneak atack ? (vennoms included)
Which build are you talking about, The post above yours or mine. because if you are speaking on about my build 1st get the burst out of your head. This isn’t a burst build. It’s a condition build. I don’t use venom’s. And I chase fairly well if not great with my short bow. It all comes down to skill. If you watched my videos on my Thiefsmer build you would realize the fights finish rather quickly. I fought a Guardian, Mesmer, and thief. I will give honesty in saying that the new Meta warrior is a bit trickier to fight.
Precision/Toughness/Condition damage
Why that instead of power vitality condition damage?
- Please read my 1st post. I said replace that armor with Dire armor.
Where I can get dire armor? Can somebody finally answer? I was asking everywhere and nobody knows.
-Travelers armor is dire armor. Or Errol armor, Get off of Trade post
(edited by AikijinX.6258)
they didn’t nerf perplexity runes?
They have not Nerfed the runes. Yet.
You will see alot of condition builds running this armor now, especially us thieves, and necro’s. Prepare yourself. My build is still viable for this new era.
This build now uses Dire armor with x6 Perplexity runes. And ascended condi trinkets
Thiefsmer build: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Thiefsmer-Build-Video/first#post2745036
Dire armor(travelers or errol armor)
0/0/30/10/30
Runes of melandru/Perplexity/torment/ etc./ Sigils of your choosing
Shadow refuge, Caltrops/ Anything of your choice for 3rd utility. And your choosing for elite
Travelers trinkets.
1 weapon CD won’t make a difference, and it would be OverPowered with out a CD. Spammable to say the least.
Why not have Body shot instead of vulnerability, 2 stacks of torment for 3.5 seconds, and a knock back. And the whole skill will be put on a 10 second CD.
Or grant Haste for 3seconds and x5 bleeding
(edited by AikijinX.6258)
We are among one of the best condition removal classes in this game.
My Thiefsmer Build would work well with Dire armor
(edited by AikijinX.6258)
Don’t we all wish we could self produce mirror images of our selves….
Well thought out Venom idea. Who knows what the next meta might bring
I might tinker with it at a later date.
Feel free, and have fun!
Good point.
Yes sir. How do you like the theory of the build setup?
not a true Thiefsmer without your clones o.o
Q__Q yeah… but i do have Thieves ;D
10/30 would assume you would be going Power damage.
Power with perplexity is not very smart imho. Every headshot you fire is initiative that could have gone to an unload or stealthing for backstab or something. It will also be doing half-damage.
The only possible scenario I can see a power/perplexity setup working is with S/P PistolWhip, in which case Ogre runes would easily outdps it (one exception being a shortbow spirit ranger with 0 awareness). That’s if PistolWhip were viable in the first place…Again, you don’t lose anything running Mug in a Carrion spec since Mug isn’t affected by precision/critdmg. It will hit ~1900+~2k in poison in a condi spec and ~2000+~1k in poison in a power spec.
Well My main source of damage would not be from P/P it would be from Shortbow- evasive build play style. The Automatic proc’d confusion (3 stacks) + all the other conditions I will happen to give while in Shortbow will be well enough. It wouldn’t be wise to run such an initiative heavy build with P/P as 10/30. But as i said everyone has their preference. I like to have the advantages in my duels.
here is a duel i did today. Warning: My skill proc and evasion’s were slow due to my kitten laptop

(edited by AikijinX.6258)
Well everyone has a preference. I’d choose Hidden thief over mug on condi any day. Unless i run 10/30/0/0/30. Perplex runes x6
For this build you don’t need anything in the deadly arts or critical strikes tree.
0/0/30/10/30 is what is going to be one of the most viable with P/P.
Shadow Arts- Shadow’s embrace, Hidden Thief (Stealth on steal) , And Shadow Rejuvenation.
Acrobatics- Either Power of Inertia, Or descent of Shadows (Of your choosing)
Trickery- Sleight of hand, Ricochet or Bountiful theft, and for the first tier either uncatachable or instinctual response (Of your choosing)Your armor stats should have Precision/Toughness/Condition damage (Being your main stat). x6 runes of perplexity of course.
Pick the sigils of your choosing.
Utilities: Shadow refuge, Caltrops, 3 utility anything of your choosing, and Elite skill any of your choosing. Bassi venom would be preferred.
I started this build about 4-5 days ago. It’s worked well. My armor rating is roughly around 2.8, with 16k hp. Condition damage I can get up to 2k with might stacks, and food. Thanks for letting me share some insight.
Hmm, I like this build and the synergy of Sleight of Hands + Rune of perplex for extra interrupt.
Thanks for sharing, I might even make a set for this build.
Anytime my man, yeah I’ve ran this build and theory crafted with it alittle bit. You guys can call it what you want but i chose to call it my Thiefsmer build. (Thief- Mesmer confusion build)
Well, since Mug can’t crit, you really aren’t losing anything by taking it on a condi spec if you run Carrion. It also puts out a good amount of poison with the reduced cd due to 30 Trickery.
Sneak Attack doesn’t do that much more damage than Mug with poison, so I don’t feel it’s worth taking it.
Hard to catch also finds a potentially useful niche here.
Sleight of Hand+Bountiful Theft combo is INCREDIBLE utility (The only reason why D/P is viable atm) and no way I’d want to lose that.
I can agree with you about the mug serving no purpose on condi, or taking little to nothing from condi spec, but with this spec you want to be able to survive. There is little to no mistake that should be made with P/P. If you use mug trait while having the hidden thief trait(stealth on steal) you will go immune, which will then serve no purpose to having mug. Yes the poison is nice, but with your short bow you can always use choking gas, or for your 3rd utility skill you can use the poison utility venom.
Hard to catch is always a good thing to have, but i rather t3 my shadow arts tree rather than acrobatics. Toughness over Vitality is always the better option. While maintaining good condi removal in stealth, access to a proc’d stealth via last refuge, and hp regen.
I watch your video and you said the that unload “3” was not one of the main sources of dmg to be used while running this spec. I would have to disagree.. Shoot i’m not here to give a lecture.
but you guys get the point
