I don’t get it… why make this difference? why… “Old Tyria” and “New Map” ? WTH?

“Old Tyria” is huge and we still have lots to do there, dungeons, farming, jumping puzzles…i highly doubt you did everything to do there.

And even if you did, so what? why do you cry so much about “old map” not having updates…it will most problably have. They stated that they like to revisit old locations.

But it only makes sense that at the beggining they will focus on the maguma jungle, why? to try and get more players to buy the expansion. And for all of those out there that scream “It’s not right…we want freedom and justince and equality…we want the expansion stuff but we don’t want to pay for the actual expansion” Kitten you, do you know what’s requited to develop a game, and maintain it, and keep working on it? money…

OFC they want as many players as possible to buy the Vanilla Game and the Expansion, that’s how it works.

OP get over yourself, as that annoying song tought us “Let it go” and as Barney Stinson tought us “New is always better”

EDIT: also why wouldn’t you want to explore this new zone as much as possible? We’ve had “Old Tyria” for 2.5 years…it’s time to explore something new…Even as a species, we humans keep exploring, first all the lands, then the sea, and even the space….it’s natural to explore and sometimes leave behind what you call “home”

You keep repeating that “problem” but all i hear…and i guess others too is how you complain that the Expansion isn’t free. Ofc it won’t be free…if you like the game you will buy it, you have quite a lot of time to save money…save 50 cents every day from now on and you will have enough for the expansion. If money is the problem.

I’m happy to support the game by buying the expansion, I really appreciate the no subscription.

Maybe Anet could bring that node with the Star of Gratidude again under a new form of event, as filler content before HoT. I also have the letter but no way to start the quest

Something i really like about certain vistas and jumping puzzles is that complexity and the way they are designed. Not onced i set on a path sure as hell that it’s the right one…only to reach a dead end and have to find another route that doesn’t seem like much but it’s actually the right one.

That is dedication if you ask me! Really appreciate the people that worked on this(sure maybe from time to time i really relaly hate them… but all in good fun )

I do love a good jumping puzzle from time to time…i did almost all of them. They are great, sick of farming, or runing paths or fractals? go do a jumping puzzle, get amazed at the complexity, scream a little, maybe cry…open the final chest and see all the blues…cry some more, but at the end of the day i love that there are such things in this game.

Gives me an Assassin’s Creed-ish feeling when doing them ^^

While i’m some times against those requiests for gating certain items only for those that spend a HUUUGE amount of time in game, i do have to admit that this is a fair request.

Even more i’m not one that spends lots of money on Gems for the Item Mall, but if arena net really needs/wants the easy money they still could do it.

Maybe make the armour to be 80% in game content(like bosses, crafting, dungeons) and 20% Gem Items…some special item to buy for Gems, like 200 gems ( I do however buy gems with in game gold, when i really need something)

All i’m saying is that some things are worth working for a little more than just plain out push the buy button.

I don’t…i’m speechless….i can’t belive…i mean i’m used with people complaining up and down left and right about every single thing in this game…but this…you are annoyed about the fact that it gives you stuff?….you have to click like 3-4 times and that’s it…if you are fast at it…it takes maybe 3 seconds..

After so many complains about everything on this forum i formed this idea about the ideal game for everyone.

One smal smal small plain map, no terrains, trees nothing so you don’t have to explore anything.
One single character with one single class(if vaganbond would be a class) with one weapon, and every player would just run around with a stick, and everything would be the same for everyone, run around with your character that is identical to other and a stick in a hand.
So there is no more complaining about who has the bigger sword, or who is overpowerd, who is nerfed….

OHHHH and you don’t get any loot…ever…and there is nothing to do…

This reminds me of the old 9Dragons days, when i spent months….MONTHS refining weapons. +1 +2 +3 were easy but after that weapons had a chance to break, and they required even more items for refine. But the higher the + , the better your weapons loked(and stronger it got)

I could enjoy this in GW2 … maybe not the exact same thing, but some variation ^^

Hey guys, i kinda missed this Wintersday Event, didn’t play that much during that time, but today I was doing some spring cleaning on my storage characters, moving things around, selling, using, destroying and i found the Letter you get in that email.

Is it still possible to do that quest/events now? if i have the letter? I wouldn’t mind that Star of Graditude cause i am sitting on tons of Empyrial fragments, and i have no idea what to do with them.

Also i just found out a few days ago about those items (one for empyrial and one for bloodstone dust, and i kinda hate myself for not doing the one for Star of Gratitude when it was meant.)

So the question is, can i still do it, or not? Cause i’m sure i saw that chef around Lion’s Arch a few days ago, but when i go to Salma District in my home instance I can’t seem to find the Grawnk dude.

I dare you, i double dare you to defeat them alone. They are created to encourage team play…otherwise what’s the point.

Sure maybe with a ranger or mesmer from a safe distance and in like 30 minutes…sure…but that’s no fun

I did the WvWvW part on both my warrior and my thief, and my girfriend too(her first mmo, her second week in the game) it’s not hard, you just have to do everything you can when you can (and yes you will die a lot) and then log in often enough to catch that moment when your server took the points you need.

Maybe you have to log at different hours, on my warrior i finished 100% map completion at 7 in the morning, I stayed up all night long to play with my thief, and by chance i want to WvW when i’ve seen that my server actually managed to take everything from Red i rushed out there with my fat charr warrior like they were handing out free shawormas.

Also maybe you don’t play that well on a ranger, on my thief i can’t get enough to most rangers, they just spot me a mile away and take me down before i realise it.

Keep trying, you’ll make it. There are people with over 5 characters with 100% map completion, you can achieve it on one!

Also the secret is to start early, as early as posible, don’t let the WvW part for last….you do it bit by bit every week

you know that dodge isn’t there to pe spamed but actually used with head. And also you have stun breakers, and condition cleaners, and NO no matter how skilled you are you can’t kill a champion alone. Champions are by definition something you do with a party or a group of people.

The skillbased part is meant for higher level content and mobs…not Bosses. Also you need at least one more, or two players to beat a champion…

I don’t know what other games or mmo’s you’ve played, but i do prefer the heart thingys instead of going to a npc with a " ! " above the head, take the quest, kill 5 x mobs go back to the npc that now has a “?” turn in the quest, get xp and money. That’s even more walking, that is busy work.

Also leveling is slow? it takes a week to hit level cap… 7 day, hell if you really take your time…like really explore everything on every single map, 2 weeks.

World bosses, yea it’s a zerg fest…i mean there are 100+ ppl at one boss, what strategy will you use? each take a turn at hitting him, maybe take some numbers? go mano a mano with the boss? Also isn’t this what it’s in every game? at least the countless that i’ve played.

Also the game kinda starts after lvl 80. So i would suggest you get there, maybe join a guild, play with some friends, do different things.

I didn’t like the game at the beggining either, it was wayyyy to different from what i was used. But it did grow on me, and now i can’t go back to how things were before.

I agree with OP…seriosly…i mean how dare they ask us for money, if we want things…they should give us everything free, once you create a character you should have every skin, dye, legendary, slot, everything everything given to you and everything maxed out….maxed everything…

I mean the game was at the begining 60$ (if i’m not mistaken) then went to 40, and had 20$ sales and even 10$ sales…and only offers content worth of a few hundred hours…maybe more…HOW DARE THEY…. Why can’t they be like the guys that made Brotherhood…something something for consoles… 60$ for 5 hours of play time + 2 hours of cinematics.

i think it’s too cheap..i mean i’ve met some commanders that i asume were 9 or 10 in real life, as musch as a suggestion made him swear and threathen he will leave. And it all was just feedback from expirienced players, but no he went bananas, cursed a little and left.

I’m thinking That the Tag should require more than just gold, maybe certain achievements, levels in PvP,WvW, a certain number of skill points….idk…Too many times i’ve met commanders that had no idea what they were doing.

I just want to be able to follow a commander without me and everyone else in the zerg to actually teach him how to do his job. That’s why he is a commander, to lead.

I HOPE….i just for for the love of our sweet saviour god that those wings are just as cheap as they can posibly be…i realize they won’t be free, but OH MY GOD do i want everyone, and i mean everyone!!!!! i’ll even buy the game for some of my friends and then gift them the wings and force them to run around the world just so i can feel the sadness and despair of our beloved OP.

There are plenty items like that, Legendaries, Ascended Armour, and the 2 backpacks that eat T6 materials….(i really want to make one but it;s just so expensive >.< ) anyway… get over yourself…

They do look great on my Thief, for my warrior i’ll stick with what i have already.

So i’m working towards my first Legendary for my Thief, and altough i had no luck with Spark, from forge or from drop (Waiting for that HOT expansion ) i have most of the other items needed.

Anyway, why is it that the GreatSword has 3 different skins, and the rest of the legendaries only 1? and okay let’s say that i’m not picky…One skin and i’m ok with that ( although Dual Dagger Thief with 2 different skinned daggers? how awesome would that be). But what about the really really really girlish ones? Maybe i want to make a Legendary ShortBow for my thief, but i’m a guy..and the shortbow isn’t that manly.

Now don’t get me wrong, i don’t have a problem if some guys just like the pony power, but i’m not one of them, I don’t find the pony interesting, funny, nice…nothing.

Maybe this has been asked before, maybe i didn’t get the memo where this was state but can please someone enlighten me? It just…sucks..there should be more skins for the other legendaries too, more customization.

And before some warriors here on the forum start sending death wishes via PM, I did main a warrior for quite some time, and i do use the warrior for dungeons and fractals, i want one of them greatswords for me too…but i want to be able to choose a different dagger too, to have 2 different ones.

Yes maybe there is a lot of loot, and my bags can’t handle it and it takes a lot of time and money to salvage everything…but i don’t think it counts as loot…it’s just…junk that i salvage for crafting materials…and it’s a lot cause it’s mostly worthless…except a few rares and exos…and ofc the big shiny prec…there isn’t much with a real value in this game…ohh weapon skins too…

now please stop this…maybe ANET gets some crazy ideas that we want even less loot…like chance for a blue item to be twice as big as chances for a precursor….

Comparing to WoW stealth is stupid, because in WoW you cannot restealth in combat save for a long cooldown ability. WoW stealth also breaks when you’re hit or take DoT damage.

WoW stealth is fine and what it should be.
GW2 stealth is op, cmon a class that have so many escape options + teleports + stealth with an autoattack that doing more than 50% dmg of your hp in one hit is just bullkitten. Plus HS doing 5k and you can even spam it. And thats the class that you can safely go full bers with no drawbacks.
This class need CD’s or cost more intiative plus removing backstab from autoattack. It just need revamp. Who ever thought to make a class that can stealth almost every few secs with avesome burst and autoattack and escape mechanism needs an Oscar for making that class. I even tried it with lv 5 thief in wvw and ended up killing 4 ppl in 5 mins of roaming LOL.

This made me lol so hard, let me quess those 4 people were afk? You can’t just create a thief, put on a build go with lvl 5 equip and kill people in a rampage this is like something George R. R. Martin would write… A FANTASY

I’ve been playing on a thief for a few weeks now, and unless the people are afk, or noobish to the game…or down right unprepared for anything, it’s not that easy.

Next time you try to prove a point, please don’t write something you dreamt last night. You should know that learning how to play a thief isn’t as yeas as rolling a warrior.

And again for those people that hide behind the fact that this topic is not about thieves….please…

Every class has something OP about them, and a way to deal with thieves, you just have to know your class. Used to main a warrior, and i know how to wipe the floor with one(unless he is some crazy dude that has like 50k hours on that thief…maybe that would be kinda hard) And as a Thief i met Guardians that kept me on the run all the time, elementalists, engineers, necromancers, rangers…i got my @ss handed to me from every class individually 1 vs 1, do you know how? THEY KNEW HOW TO PLAY, they weren’t busy on the forums crying about invi being overpowerd. They learned how to counter a thief and how to defeat one.

And not just me, a lot of thieves will agree with me on this, every single class from the other 7 can beat the juice out of a thief, even thief against thief. It’s just a matter of skill, and how well you know your class and the enemeys class. This is were the saying “Know thy enemey” comes in mind.

Even in real life situation, brain and strategy can overcome manpower (well maybe think about the older days, today with the nukes and all that…not so cool).

Also, to be honest, nothing is more fun that meeting someone in PvP or WvWvW that really knows how to play, someone that is your equal 1 vs 1…that right there is how you learn to play you class and learn about the other one. Many times after dying in situations like this i went “Darn it… i could’ve use this and then that to beat him…” but it’s a lesson for the next time.

it all boils down to how well you play your on class, and how well you know the other 7….If you really know a thief you know that most stealth are really short, most are not enough to get us behind a target for a backstab.

Instead of complaing about everything Thief Related…i propose…learn how to play your own class firstly…OR try playing as a thief… and you will see how weak the thief really is,

Also about our skills not having cool down….yeah try planing every attack all the time…planing ahead…how is that overpower? it’s annoying…It’s easy for every class: use the skills wait for the cool downs to end, use them again… But what do you do when you have a limited number of skills avaible to use in a certain time… sure we have a trait and a signet that gives a small boost….But if 1 vs 1 is easy with the initiative we have, 1 vs 2 is hardcore.

Ohh and not to mention, in PvP a thief in stealth can’t cap a point…but a engi with tourets can keep a point the whole match and you complain about stealth…

I just read something like “I would prefer a thief with more hp and less stealth” … so what the point anymore? if it would just become something close to a warrior.

People, like i said in my wall of text, every class has something annoying and overpowerd in different parts of the games…why all the thief hate? If we’re talking about PvP i do hate mesmers and engis….if we’re talking about WvW i mostly hate rangers, i get attacked before i even notice the ranger, and that range with the longbow….i already have 50% hp left before i can either stealth to run away or to engage.

And also in PvE, bosses that one hit us…do you know how annoying it is to be one shot…and you can only evade so much…it depends on the dungeon party, but sometimes all it takes is one mistake at the final boss and boom kicked out of the party.

I would really like everyone against stealth (And mostly when you say stealth you say Thief, cause yes mesmers and ragers have it, but they don’t use it like Thieves do…so don’t hide behind the words here) to say what class they main and what’s the most powerfull skill/combo, how they win in WvW and PvP and you’ll see that every class has certain something like i said in my 4th post here.

Also comparing GW2 stealth to other games? In WoW you are invisible for as long as you want, powerfull backstab…and also double the speed or 50% more, i don’t remember…

But in Guild Wars 2, the stealth a thief has is really subjective, it depends if the thief concentrates havenly on stealth but has lower dmg, or shorter stealth and higher dmg.

Also, yes you can be attacked, hit, knocked down, dazed, everything while stealth.
You want to say that Stealth is almost invulnerability?… well maybe it is, maybe it’s not…and from my PvP experience is not… but think about this the other way around:

The Defense and HP a Thief has is high enough that it won’t die from another players spit. All it takes is 1 stun, and maybe 1 small mistake on thiefs part and BOOM dead.

I’ve been killed more times than i care to remember in stealth,

and in the end, stealth means nothing if you don’t know how to play the class.

Enemy able to see the thief while in stealth? Bomm done…ruined class that no one will ever play, why? cause its amazingly easy to die with a thief even in PvE if you’re not paying attention.

Do you know what is overpower?(well maybe not but it’s certainly something annoying) Mesmers with thousands of exploding illusions….how can you kill the enemy if he is surrounded by hundreds of clones that explode when you destroy them…in the end either i stop persuing cause of my hp…or the mesmer manages to escape.

Also try taking an interest point from an engi with tourets…i dare you,i double dare you.

Also some guardians? imposible to kill…I mean…how much hp can one have, how many heals?

Elementalists? don’t even get me started….most i encountered werent great…but there were a few amazing ones, that ele has everything quite a spectacular class.

Warrior with the “No damage buff” ? you’re happy if you escape before he stuns you or knocks you down.

Necromancer? Don’t even get me started…that demonic form or whatever that saves his behind untill reinforcements come? charming

And in the end, playing against another thief? I have the most fun right there…

I understand you hate thieves, but every class has that one annoying thing for every other class. Just cause you can’t deal with thieves, doesn’t mean we’re overpowerd….we’ve been nerfed to the center of the earth

The point i’m trying to reach is…if you have a problem with a certain small part of the game, don’t expect Anet to role over, kiss your feet and then fix that problem just for you. If you have suggestions, or some helpfull ideas idk…something constructive that’s great and appreciated.

But if you come on the forums and complain, and then tell everyone that Guild Wars 2 sucks just cause..idk…you have to kill small fluffy cute bunnys for an achievement…that’s not cool.

And there will be some of you out there that are gonna say: “Yeah?? well i paid for the game so I DEMAND THE GAME TO BE EXACTLY LIKE I WANT” … true…you paid, we all did…but the thing is what other game can you buy with 40 bucks(60 at the beggining, 20 if you get the 50% off) doesn’t matter…what game can you buy with those money, with NO MONTHLY subscription, and the game offers you…hundreds of hours of content to play.

How much do you want from 60 bucks? Yea i mean if the game were free and we were PAID to play it…that would’ve been awesome, no denying here.

Anyway, all i’m saying is that maybe we should try to stop playing the victim all the time, maybe it’s our parents fault, they were overprotective when we were little kids and they kept telling us “You are the best, you are great, you are always right, YOU YOU YOU YOU” but they didn’t mean for you to become this adult cry baby

Play the game with your friends, enjoy the parts that you like, relax, and maybe thank ArenaNet for giving us a good game, in a time when most game suck so bad…90% of AAA games just suck…bottoms line, not really worth the money. And in a sea full of fish, but 99% of those are either dead, poisonus, out to kill you or just make you go insane and hate your life, there is this little golden fish…that bites your finger from time to time.

Hey guys, this might be my second topic on the forums and I have been playing the game for about 2 years…more or less, anyway while i don’t post much i do like to browse the forums and read and here is what i noticed.

Most of the time, most of the people just whine, and cry and complain, and ohh my godddd you are ruining my lifeee…and how dare you do that to MEEEEE, why don’t you guys know what i like, what i don’t like, what i agree, what i kinda like…but not like that much, what i would like to like but i don’t like…and so on.

First off all let me start by saying, Guild Wars 2 is not a perfect game…not by far, not even close, it’s so frustrating and infuriating and i have rage quited so many times and deleted the game.

But what did i do after i deleted the game? downloaded the wholeee thing again, took a big cup of chill and played again. Did i whine on the forums? nope. (Mostly i do my rage quits in dungeons, there are some people that just LOVE to kick you out at the last boss so they can invite friends/guild mates, so you have to do the whole thing all over again)

Anyway the game is not perfect, nothing is, but what i get from all this crying on the forums is that you don’t know what else is out there, I have played most of the mmo’s out there since idk…2004 ? I have characters on certain MMO’s that took time, sweat even blood and are nowhere near close to cap level…or decent items, it’s just this huge grind fest where you just kill mobs for days and days and days without doing anything else… And if by miracle you actually do hit the level cap…well congratz to you, now you can farm this dungeon that’s in your level range and just start anew.

But it doesn’t really apply to games anymore, does it? Everyone complains about everything all the time everywere to everyone, everyone is a victim. OMG my lighter doesn’t work…THANKS OBAMA…

Guild Wars 2 is by far the best game out there today, it’s fun, interesting, funny, complex…it has a little something for everyone. Is it perfect? NO, HELL NO, there is no such thing. Are there things that i hate about this game but other people just love? YES, the fact the 95% of the game is perfect for me…but i just hate the 5% soooo much( I mean who is Arena Net to force me to do WvWvW maps for 100% competion, and why all 3 exactly identical maps?

but you know what? i did the maps…took me 2 weeks, and i kinda enjoyed it, running around with my girlfriend like 2 ninjas or screaming “RUNNNNN THEY SAW USSSS” dying cause running around with the map open means you eventually run into the zerg…and thats bad…it really gets fun, frustrating, iritating but fun nonethe less,just give it a chance and you will be surprised) means that the game is bad? NO

thank god, well let’s just hope the traits will be improved and not worsened…

In the expansion, Rangers gonna get the Staff as a weapon, sort of druid-like thingy
and the necromancers are gonna use that big bam(didn’t mean bam…if you know what i mean xD ) greatsword ( if i remember corectly)

And actually axe on a thief wouldn’t be much o a surprise, we’re not talking about a dual welding axe, but a one handed one…instead of a dagger, i was thinking about this too.

better GPU, the CPU is decent… but you need more juice to enjoy the graphics

So with the help of a cousin from Germany i was able to buy the game for my girlfriend.

Now ofc after the payment authorization failed problem, i have one more. Does the account register automaticaly on the e-mail adress that the serial code is sent to? Cause her serial number is already used on my e-mail adress, and while that’s not so bad, we have no idea what the password is.

But now you are gonna say “hey there lover boy…but why not just reset the password?instead you complain on the forum”

That is a great question…and i would do that…IF I COULD.

I go to “lost password” page, write the e-mail, it takes me to another page where it asks me to write the e-mail again, the serial number i got for the game, and a character name from the account. Now…ofc there is no character on the account seeing how she never got online. But after i write down the email and the code again i get this beauty "An error has occurred. Please contact Support. "

Is it a general problem? or does God hate me that much for not going to church anymore?

Well it seems that the rest of us, with paysafe card problem (we already bought the pay safe card code) are screwed….hard….

also, i suggest Asus, most of my hardware is Asus, my girlfriends laptop is Asus, overall they are great. Price, Quality it’s awesome. I have gaming headphones, GPU and motherboard from them….and i couldn’t be happier (Republic of Gamers series)

i finished my new pc a few weeks ago, the most important advice i can give you is this:
If you have the money, do not hesitate to buy a GTX 970 GPU…or if you want GTX 980…trust me…I have Asus Ostrix GTX 970, that GPU alone costs almost like all the other components at one place(well to be honest i got them at discout on christmass/black friday … but anyway) a good i5 with a GTX 970 and 8 gb ram, and good cooling will do wonders.

Don’t be cheap when it comes to the GPU….

#Gaile can you tell me in hours how many left before the sales ends? cause while i’m good with math in general i just don’t get the whole time zone thingy.

Checked online,also there is no way to transfer from Skrill to paypal, and not gonna trust those “best deal” websites on the internet!

I already looked into that paysafe to paypal…but excluding the few phishy websites i found on google, there is no way to do that. I can’t transfer from Pay Safe Card to PayPal or directly to my bank account for that matter.

You are right… I am from Romania, had no money on my personal bank account so i got 2 × 10 Euros Pay Safe Cards, for my girlfriend and a close friend(i was in debt to him).

It’s quite a lot of money, for the income here ( about 200 euros a month or so) so i feel kinda screwed now…any chance you can make it work in romania too?

they said they are looking into it….They could’ve said “Yeah PaySafe Card…not good, sorry” but they said they will fix it, so i’m happy. Let’s just wait.

#Gail Gray, do you have any information about the PaySafe Card problem? There are lots of us that bought pay safe card codes, but are unable to use them to buy the game. some of my friends are waiting hoping they didn’t waste money for the pay safe card code.

It is not normal, i’ve never heard of something like this. It’s their fault they have to fix the paysafe card problem so we can get our game. We already got the codes, what are we supposed to do with them? We already spent money on those just because we trusted what they wrote on their website.
