I was browsing through reddit, and their was a discussion on how back in 2005 GW1 has been able to apply updates without the servers going down for maintenance, and only requiring a reset. Some were saying Anet has this technology patented?
Is that way some games that came out recently still have to go down like every week for a few hours?
Everything about GW1 was an enjoyable experience. The story was nice and exploring the world was so much fun. Anet really messed up on the achievements in GW2, they went with the quantity over quality route for achievements for GW2. In GW1 achievements were more streamlined and you didn’t need to have multiple characters to get some of the achievements. The achievements were actually challenging to get and took time, but it was an enjoyable experience, all the way through legendary vanquisher. Many of the achievements in GW2 feel gimmicky and broken, making it a frustrating experience. I haven’t been able to play anything else that was as enjoyable as GW1, I still get on it every now and then.
Does anyone else know of other locations that have similarities like these between the two games?
There are bunch! Some really close, some close-ish and some that ought to be the same that are drastically different.
For a pretty good one, Yak’s Bend is in southwest Frostgorge Sound.
OLD old Lions’s Arch is partially left underwater.
We’ll probably get something like those pictures with Augury Rock in just over a month.
I’m going to have to check them out, I like to keep both games up at the same time and just see how they decided to change each thing, definitely an interesting thing to look at.

Love seeing how they changed after 250 years.
I don’t know who you used to manage your property, but I’d demand a refund.
Don’t even get me started on the indoor pool haha.
I’m glad we stepped away from the dragons, I feel like that idea has been done to death by this day in age.
I loved GW1 story where we were fighting the Lich, Shiro, and Abbadon. Their stories and the final battles so much more unique.
Definitely one of the companies that tries to innovate the type of content they put out. Guild Wars always has me coming back to it no matter what game I play. They have done many things right and continue to try to add new and exciting things. Granted their are some things which I would have like done differently, but over all it is well done.
Thanks for the many hours of enjoyment.
Elite specializations are the way to go I feel like, they are easier to make work properly. Some of the classes have some problems that need fixing and adding another class to the mix would not be a good idea. I’m sure ANET will fixing a lot of things with the expansion so we should be expecting a lot of changes.
By far the best outfit, and even more surprised about how good the glider skin is. Was only going to get the suit until I saw the glider but then I had to get both.
A lot of really good advice, thanks for the in-depth review on this for me I really learned a lot. I was hoping for some more team support, because the class is so fun to play and I wanted to do more for my teammates. I sometimes feel selfish enough playing my thief lol.
The condition conversion seems very beneficial as well in WvW when running with a zerg, going to have to give that a try. The staff seems to do well, and I would want at least one weapon for range.
I mostly would be playing WvW, FOTM and some open world PvE as well.
All this information definitely gives me a lot to think about. I had no idea about most of it.
I’m really liking the play style of the necro. I use to play a lot of thief but wanted to try something different and be able to provide some more team support. I enjoyed the damage and mobility of the thief, but I felt that’s all it could do.
1. As a Necro/Reaper, is their some decent support I can provide for example in WvW or FOTM?
2. How is the mobility for a fully unlocked Reaper, I know we have constant 25% speed with the signet. I know it would be less than the Daredevil but is their more to it as well?
3. I’m enjoying the dagger, staff and tested the greatsword in the pvp lounge and liked the play style. What builds would you recommend for when I have everything fully unlocked?
4. What armor should I be using, exotic and ascended wise. I know most exotics I can obtain from the TP easily which I plan to do initially, ascended might take me a bit longer to acquire so I would need something to cover the gap while I craft ascended. I do have ascended Sinister and Berserker accessories, but I feel like Sinister would be a better combination for the necro accessory wise?
Thanks for the help.
It gets even worse later, when you have to return the wisps at the 25% boss phase. You have people not way pointing their corner and running around blindly trying to grab a wisp but you got all of them going to the same wisp. Then someone stops to argue that that was their wisp but no one marked their corner remember, but the person says they called at the start which was about 30 minutes ago because people don’t know how to get out of AOE circles so you spend more time reviving everyone. So no one remembers what’s what and then time runs out and everyone dies and you want to cry. Oh and it’s T4.
I have a Rev I played a lot back in the day, thinking about coming back to it now as well because it allows for more group help which is nice. Been playing thief for a majority of the time but in major groups their isn’t much I can do besides provide DPS, even though as much as I enjoy playing it. Going to have to give rev another try.
Bandit Sniper Outfit (Standalone) it was at 700 gems last time.
I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.
That’s perfect, thanks for posting that. I’ll reply in it right now.
Phantom Hood
No shoulders showing
Triumphant chest
Rogue gloves
Glorious pants
Triumphant shoes
Hopefully it goes separate again pretty soon. I wouldn’t mind paying 700 gems for it but the 2000 gems bundle right now is just to much. Especially since I don’t need the rest of it, guess I’ll have to keep an eye out, thanks :/.
Is it possible to get the bandit sniper outfit without getting the whole bundle?

You just said RIP (Rest in peace) twice, and you misspelled ’’piece’’.
I know , that’s the joke lol.
Don’t forget the backward broken heart

New update just released allows everyone to get the achievements.
Even though it looks like the legendary medium will have a coat, a small part of me believes it won’t. Just to keep myself happy about it lol.
It would be amazing if they brought it back, miss it so much lol.
Thanks for the advice, yeah those bosses I listed as an example but would apply throughout the world for any other enemy that you couldn’t melee all the time. I know P/P doesn’t get much praise these days so I thought I would ask first before going with it.
I was thinking if it would be worth using P/P instead of SB on single bosses like the anomaly or chaos end boss in FOTM for example. I only ask for range purposes when I have to retreat but still need to do damage.
I agree! Also have no idea what the legendary medium is going to look like. I think the Mediterranean and middle eastern themes would be so cool.
Picture of the precursor Medium Envoy armor. Since precursors resemble the final item I think we can use it to judge the likelihood of a long coat on the Legendary.
Oh that’s a disappointment, I really had high hopes that the this set would be something unique. Small part of me still believes it won’t be a trench coat. We only have 3 options of non-trench coat related armors and one of those isn’t even available (hero triumphant). Running a combination of triumphant and glorious right now.
Yeah I noticed that yesterday as well actually, don’t know what was going on.
It’s a negligible dps loss for a noticeable vitality gain. No reason not to do this. Only the most type A of individuals will take issue with you using marauders over berserkers.
That’s what I was thinking as well, and I’ve realized in some places you just have to take the hits either it being running out of endurance or not having a place to dodge such as being on a platform (ex. uncatagorized harpies). Even though that’s a small part of the world, but anyone that’s done that level on +T3 knows the struggle lol. I just don’t want to end being being constantly downed.
So I’m torn between these two stats, I’ve heard pros and cons of both. I was wondering if I could get some more advice on which stat to go with before I invest heavily in ascended armor.
I already have berserker stats and I’ll probably keep those since marauders are harder to get. I was thinhking about doing marauder on the armor and weapons with berserker trinkets with either rune of scholar or exuberance?
I’ve been doing fotm and would like to go to t4 eventually, and I also enjoy WvW. Usually end up using staff/SB for fractals and other pve areas and dp/sb for WvW. Maybe get into raids at some point but not sure when.
Could someone with more experience recommend which route to take?
I always have to jump off every cliff or staircase I come across, for some reason just walking off feels wrong lol.
I’ve heard zerker trinkets with marauder weapons and armor are a pretty good combination. I already have ascended zerker trinkets but working on getting marauder for the rest of the armor. If you do decide to go the marauder route, superior rune of exuberance is a good combination to go with.
That’s exactly what I’m wearing right now. It’s a nice roll out for riding zergs and jumping in and out of your commanders kill box but I do feel a bit of a trade off when someone gets away from me where a zerk weapon or some armor might have finished it.
Kashaun, we’re in the same guild. I’m Cmdr Phantom, we partied together the other day in WvW. Small world huh lol.
Only thing I’m not looking forward to is maxing out my leatherworker to be able to craft the armor :/. But I’m sure the survivability of marauders pays off more in the long run.

I’m kind of in the same situation as well. Luckily I had zerker ascended accessories so that helped out. Thought about going full zerk but after seing some of the replies and seeing I would only have about 12k hp, i don’t think its the best option to start with, but I could be wrong. I’m thinking I’ll stick with valk armor and weapons and zerk accessories for now and see how it all plays out. I’ve been unlocking most skills and other stuff through wvw notary tokens. Join a zerg this way you can test different play styles and and have some assistance with other people around until you get the hang of it. I got my pistol from the trading post, I got zerk but should have probably got valk, cost me about 10g.
I thought I was the only one who wasn’t a fan of it lol, especially hate how it gets distorted on uneven surfaces as well. Would really like a disable option.
Ive always used OH sword, for the block. At least Grasping Shadow gives a bit of Fury now, so I actually have a reason to use it, if Facet of Darkness is down or im not in Dragon Stance.
Im not super keen on axe, because the location where Frigid Blitz’s shadowstep dumps you is a bit random, and its put me into undesirable locations before, and Temporal Rift’s pull is a bit buggy. I find it fails to pull more often than it does pull, and the damage is just a bit underwhelming when it does actually hit.
Shield. No, because aforementioned self-immobilize, and barely ok-ish heal.
Why did they remove OH Dagger prior to release. It likely would’ve been better than any of the offhands Rev currently gets.
Wait, Rev used to have OH dagger instead of sword?
Also, I’ve been using sword more often now as well.
And we have warriors, guardians, rangers, mesmers, thieves using swords. That didnt stop them from giving one to rev as well right? I mean i dont see a benefit giving rev a sword either when both guard and war can use it already, same for mace or hammer. So whats your point actually other than selfish reasons? Gs is popular bc its one of these weps that gets best skins ingame and gw2 is a cosmetic game after all.
Yeah guess you could say that, fashion wars it is. That’s what was good about GW1, their wasn’t any weapon restrictions. I feel like they took a step backwards, but it helps sell more expansions. It’s not about being selfish but bringing more underrated weapons into use.
I just don’t want it to turn into something similar to one of the other heavy classes by adding another weapon choice that we all ready have on a guardian or a warrior. There both already running GS, I don’t want a to be doing the same thing on a rev. Guardians are already rolling with scepter and focus. The rev deserves something unique.
Then dont run with gs. Nobody forces you to equip it.
I’m just saying I don’t see the benefit of the third heavy class using a GS when a warrior and guardian are already using it. Might as well just use one of those classes or a mesmer, ranger or necro for that matter. If you want to run difficult content with organized groups you are locked in a limited amount of weapons to use if your class is lucky enough to be useful in that content.

I hope it doesn’t end up getting a GS, I feel like this class has potential be different compared to the other heavy classes. Pretty much what ScarecrowHD said, few professions have pistols and even fewer are viable with them. This would be a good chance for ANET to really set professions apart from one another and let them do different things, I really hope this profession doesn’t get ruined.
I feel like pistols would be well suited for the revenants playstyle. They seem to be somewhere between a warrior and a thief, it’s like having best of both worlds. Think this would be a good weapon choice we might see in the future?
I think you’ll find a lot of what turns people off from Revenant isn’t the revenant itself, but also the amount of investment in older characters. Starting totally fresh for many people has proven to be a very un-fun chore, especially if fresh world completion and so on isn’t really your cup of tea. Personally, it has put a damper on my “willingness” to reroll anything because trying to unlock elites from a totally fresh character isn’t overly fun, though, in most cases, required, and i know it is for Revenants.
Just some food for thought. Work, old character investments, uniqueness of the class and how utilities work. It was bound to even out eventually, and unfortunately might even be under par because starting fresh feels like a barrier of entry that people can avoid by just playing their mains. I highly double it’s all because they were nerfed out of the Raiding meta, which isn’t even for a majority of players anyways.
This was my main concern as well, I’m not one for having multiple characters that I play. I almost always stick to one and go with it. So just thinking about having to get all hearts, vistas, POI seems like a lot of work. But I decided to give it a try, I remembered auto loot and gliding apply to new chars as well so that definitely makes life easier. I hope it’s something that has long term potential in raids and FOTM. I’m enjoying using S/S, really wish they gave them pistols as well though. They seem like a class that falls between a warrior and thief.
Is there still some demand for burnzerker warrior in raids or is it almost always PS?
I’m also thinking about starting a Revanent, are they in demand for raids and fractals as well?
I was really hoping their would be more demand for condition, I’ve had a lot of fun with S/S and S/T. Seems odd that they nerfed it since condition was a big focus in HoT
I’ve been enjoying running with SS/LB and I’ve started to build around that but haven’t fully completely invested into it yet. So far I haven’t had any trouble, manage to hold my own with only missing a few condition specific armor pieces. I want to know if their would be good or decent demand for a condition warrior in raids and high end fractals?
Is there any way to get Viper trinkets through vendors or do they have to be crafted? It seems viper is better and easier to get than sinister trinkets , which you only get from LS2 achievements.
Thanks, you are right.
I’m trying to craft a exotic Sinister Intricate Gossamer Insignia so I can use it to craft an ascended insignia. The wiki says I need 5 globs of ectos, 5 gossamer patches and 1 sheet of charged ambrace. Which I have all of, but it won’t let me place them into the discovery slots. I have 500 armorsmith. What am I overlooking?
For the LFG when I try to make a group it doesn’t show the description, so I have to edit it and and resubmit it to get it to show.
Sounds good, thanks for the advice
