Got inspired and made up some skills on the spot! ^^
Painful Beauty (Similar to Temple of Lyssa’s mechanics):
Glamour: When activated, any enemy looking at you from 1200 yrds will get a 0.5 second CD on all skills. If the enemy is closer than 130 yrds, they’ll be feared from you (3 seconds)
Duration: 3 seconds
Cooldown: 60 seconds
Twisting blinks:
Elite: When activated, you’ll get teleported around your enemy with a 900 yrds radius. Each teleported location will have 1 second duration until you will get teleported to another spot. During this time (even while teleporting around) you will be able to fully excecute any skill, channeled or not. Melee weapons will be teleported around the enemy at attacking distance. Ranged will be as far as 900 yrds.
Duration: 7 seconds.
Cooldown: 60 seconds.
Punishing Karma:
Manipulation: The next offensive skill the enemy does within 5 seconds will be redirected back to its sorce.
Cooldown: 30 seconds.

Enjoy!
You’re welcome!
Since Mesmers have a lack of off combat movement speed so a tip for your friend would be to get Superior rune of the traveler which can give him 25% speed outside of combat which is quite neat!
I think it’s intentional as it could easily be exploited.
Imagine if you put down Temportal Curtain and run past it sevral times by going back and forth with +12~ sec swiftness each time you past it. Then a mesmer would have 100% Swiftness uptime as the CD is only 25 sec (20 with trait).
So in the future, get your swiftness from your Temportal Curtain before recieving any swiftness boost from any other player.
I understand your concern about the misconception about GS AA but if you think about it, so is it quite logical. What you see on the screen will always be the sum of one skill, while the combat log will show each individual hit.
I would think it’s designed after a psycological point of view. People would feel it’s more enjoyable to see higher numbers on the screen than sevral small numbers.
Main Hand Pistol
1: Mindburst – shoot a bullet at your foe
> Mind shot – shoot a bullet with chance to put one of the following conditions on foe ( Confusion, Blind, vulnerability)2: Unload – shoot multiple bullets, if OH pistol is equipped shoot from both pistols, doubling the damage
3: Illusion – Shoot your foe, stunning him, then teleport to your foe leaving a clone at your position.
I like the idea but it’s too similar to thiefs MH pistol skills. I would rather have more tricks on the skills which make it more unique. Maybe bouncing bullets, bullets that blasts on impact etc
I guess I could pop up another question as it is related to the topic.
Is Valkyrie armor combined with Berzerker Acc/ring/back/neck a good gear for direct dmg builds?
You inside the feedback and the enemy outside of it = Reflect
Enemy inside the feedback and you outside of it = Reflect
Both you and the enemy is inside the feedback = Reflect
Both you and the enemy is outside the feedback but with feedback between eachother = Reflect
Great post!
I do like most stuff Anet bring to us players, but this time they had a great concept with horrible excecution!
“You already have so many defencive utilties, so we feel you don’t need 25% speed for convenience outside of combat”
Ever heard of constructive criticism?
I think people would take you more seriously then even if you have a poor english.
However, it’s always fun to read qq posts in the middle of the night like this one
5 Keys – 1 Ticket
I must have stolen someone’s RNG ^^
Make use of selfcombo’s. They helped me lvl up with ease at low lvls against any type of enemy and numbers. Temporal Curtain + Illusionary Leap/Swap will give you retaliation for 20~ sec which boost your dmg. Also use Feedack or/and Nullfield and use the same skill to give you Chaos Armor which will give you a lot of regeneration.
Basicly the same thing with staff’s Phrase Retreat. (However it can be a lot of button smashing to get the retaliation combo ^^)
Other than that you’ll just need to learn how to dodge at the right time.
Without the marker on the clone makes the skill Deception loose its function to “confuse” the enemy which could be a dealbreaker.
But I do disagree with the choice to teleport to a specific location. Thief’s have that same mechanic and if mesmer’s would get the same ability, it would make Shadow Escape underpowered mesmer’s version. However, the teleport could be away from the targeted enemy if you have one selected. (So you don’t put yourself infront of the enemy or an aoe)
Also I think the “I need a target to use Deception” is a mechanic for the clone as it needs a target to shoot its own Mind Blast on. How else would the clone know what to shoot at?
At least sending as a gift to someone but NOT a tradeable item. That would just be horrible.
Without traits it is 25 sec.
With Warden’s Feedback or Illusionists Celerity it is 20 sec.
With both traits it is 15 sec.
I think that the RNG can and should be in place in the game. It’s a way to make money as well making an item unique and more of a “wow” factor. However, I think that ever BLC should contain some kind of token and with these tokens you can buy the desired skin you want in case the RNG isn’t your best friend instead of feeling scammed.
So I’ve read these new updates that will take place and heard that confusion will get a major nerf. (50% less damage)
This put me into a strange mood because the only reason anyone would want to have a scepter is mainly for a confusion build specialised towards PvP (because confusion is highly unreliable in PvE). Now I struggle to see any use for a scepter at any given time because any other mainhand weapon will outshine scepter’s abilities in both survivability, damage and perhaps control.
What’s your thought about this?
Another fine example of changes to pvp that mess up pve. I wish anet would realize they need to split the skills between pvp and pve or they will just keep running into problems like this.
If they are going to fix every single problem with a profession because it doesn’t work for PvE or PvP you’ll get 2 different professions in the future. In my opinion it’s much better to make a profession’s skills and traits equally good in both aspects of the game.
Blink does not break stun/immobilize anymore http://youtu.be/1D_Qhz9TNXs
also, decoy SOMETIMES breaks stun.. not always. The additional bounce trait in the illusions line also does not apply to clones for some reason when it should.
If someone is up a flight of stairs, and your attacks are hitting – summoning iBerserker is usually obstructed unless camera is panned all the way up – which is troublesome keeping up with those annoying thieves
This player (or you?) was immobalized. Blink doesn’t remove that condition but it still remove stun. Same thing goes for Decoy.

I have discovered that Deceptive Evation, the trait that make clones when you dodge, does not always create a clone, or worse, create a clone on a random target.
It can be really frustrating sometimes when you need that extra clone or “accidentally” goes in combat with a mob nearby.
I gave myself an early christmas present by buying 11 boxes and turned out to get 3 mini’s which was enough for me to get the quaggan i really wanted to have.
I thought these minipets dropped more often than what it actually does (i guess i was extreamly lucky) and i feel sorry for those who spent a lots of money into these boxes in the hopes of getting at least 1 mini pet.
IMO if Arenanet will continue with this idiotic RNG system they have in place atm, i believe it will be their grave one day.
