I would only approve a damage meter in Guild Wars 2 if it only register your own damage for testing purposes without sending that information to others. From my own experinces so does damage meters only separate new player, casual players and hard core players from eachother by demanding a specific DPS in groups/raids.
After a while people will expect high DPS or kick, which is only bad and harm character progression.
Maybe season 3 will start that way.
If i know Anet well, then season 3 will start that way, with a new plot
Happened to me too, twice now. I sent a ticket for a refund on both copies. I hope they can fix this problem!
I don’t think MF affect those bags. As it doesn’t affect most bags. (Could be wrong as i’ve been away fro a while)
However, you have to make a choice. Either not lvling that character to get most out of your bags OR open them on another (lvl 80 i presume) character and play on the lvl 55 one. But you will loose out some money on it.
I kind of have the same problem, however I only play on one character so my other 4 are mainly bank space and used for things like these.
Sorry to hear that but I’m afraid that life is just like that. Good people doesn’t get the gratification that should have and thoe who doesn’t do anything get everything.
Anyway, I don’t know what your aim was for the gamble with MF. If it was to get a precursor because you need it for legendary craft, then i feel you. But if it was a pure gamble to get money out of it.. well, the gamble failed.
Best advice is to play the game and don’t try to get lucky with RNG. Just save it all up, buy what you need. And if you want to get lucky with RNG, then prepare for huge loss.
Sometimes I loose a battle against another player. And most of the times i’ll just accept my defeat but these people who just killed me have to brag about it and do whatever they can to do so. So they whisper me, invite to groups etc and start saying all kinds of crap. that’s what annoys me the most.
How low esteem must a player have if he/she feel the need to brag about it to the player that got defeated…
More information would be helpful to understand why you were kicked. Plus you can’t see if you do the most DPS and healing isn’t really anything worth bragging about as this game doesn’t have a trinity structure.
Maybe the simple answer was that they didn’t want you in the group for reason I don’t know of.
Here’s my Human Necro.
And Sylvari Mesmer, just because it’s my main.
(edited by Aniltiger.9186)
I understand what you want but I think there is more work involved in doing such option than what it might look. Plus I think that the demand for such freature is minimal.
Illusions are ment to either be shattered when the right time comes or to stay alive for damage (as their attackrate is faster than the summoning CD)
So having them aggro enemies would be awful for a mesmer and we wouldn’t have a chance to build up our damage.
Temportal Curtain isn’t tall at all. Especially is the enemy is above you. So next time place yourself inside the temporal curtain. A bit to the side so the curtain is closer to the enemy. It will have a higher chance of reflecting then.
Portals works both ways, not only one way. So you can portal back and forth 20 times.
Pokémancer
MH weapon: Pokéball
Elite skill: Forces your newly captured foes to fight for you.
Let’s call it after the sound the skills make… like:
Shooomf wubb wubb wubb wubb
Or:
Wa wa wa wa
Or:
Swingggg poff poff
And last:

They should make these. It would look great!
Maybe one different “legendary” dye for each spectre of color. So for red dye, it shifts from very light pink to very dark red.
And same with other colors.
If you’re good, obviously you’re a hacker… lol (Whispers at mesmer POV)
Something I think would help you a lot LvLing up with staff is to use condition based armor/runes with sigil of earth/corruption and get the Illusionary Elasticity trait. From my own experience so is this a very effective way to LvL up with staff and it kills effectivly as well giving you excellent protection with back-leaps and chaos armor.
I would also suggest having Decoy, Mirror Images and Signet of Illusions (as you might not be able to create clones on dodge so it helps your illusions to stay alive during the fight)
(edited by Aniltiger.9186)
No need to panic. Ranger gets staff, Guardian is maybe getting LB, Necromancer is getting GS, and it is relatively likely that thieves will get a rifle. So each of these professions will have access to 5 brand new skills.
That’s why I think there is still hope. If Anet cares about profession equality (and I believe they do, to some extend), they should logically add one mh and one oh weapon. Since Colin said one more weapon per profession, we would likely be getting mh and oh shields. Fingers crossed.
Just a thought I had but i’m not sure if it’s viable. But no one have said that Shield is an only Off Hand weapon. What if it get to be a Two handed weapon so we all can try to be Captain Mesmerica and if we don’t like that, then put in an main handed weapon and keep the last two skills on the shield.
But I think that is mostly wishful thinking.
I have to agree with this, even organised party barely handles it…. Btw, do we have to run trough lava field or we kill everything?
You sure digged far for this thread to be bumped up again.
The expansion will come out whenever it does and additional information will be published once in a while prior to that.
Just enjoy the game and try to prepare for the expansion.
I can’t prepare for the expansion if I don’t know what to prepare for
Prepare in general. For example, save up gold. Collect materials. Upgrade armor or/and get new armor which can change stats when you know what stats will be favourable with the new specialization system and just progressively prepare as more information gets out.
Alright…
First, There’s a little button on the bottom right of every post. Its a little black arrow, click it to quote. DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING, the forums will do it for you. It quotes properly every time, no need to edit any part of it.
Second, maxed on all the materials I’ll ever need for exotics, since there is no reason to ever go ascended, except for weapons, of which I already have several for each of my armor sets.
3rd, I have the following armor sets ::: (Beserker’s, Assassin’s, Cleric, Magix2, Rabid, and Rampager), all exotic, with the associated weapons I need for each build. I literally have an armor set for every and any situation.
No point in upgrading any to Ascended, maybe with the exception for Trinkets, and I already have several sets of ascended trinkets. (unless Anet wants to stop being lazy and release some ascended Magi trinkets…not likely)
So, there you have it. Can’t progressively prepare because I’m already prepared.
Prepare in general.
do some yoga, start eating healthier, call your parents on the phone, tell your friends you love ‘em even though they’re noobs, find the meaning of life (it might be 43, don’t trust authority). plenty of stuff to do till the expansion comes, just not in the game :P
sorry anil couldn’t resist :P
ps – YOU ARE NOT PREPARED
I already do Yoga, and I run 5k every two days. Talked to my parents on wed. on my birthday, My friends aren’t noobs, I’m actually worse than them, but I still love em. The meaning of life is Ramen Noodles, not the number 42,….if only it weren’t so unhealthy.
Welp. I got nothing to do until the expansion hits, and I still can’t prepare for something I don’t know what to prepare for, still proving my original point. Anything else?
Seriously, what do you want? A special edition of HoT just for you because you already have everything you want and need in the game just so you can enjoy the game?
All I did was to give some friendly advice.
The expansion will be released when it’s ready. And ranting about it won’t make more information get published or a sooner release date.
When someone sends you a PM, report him or her. Hit the ! (exclamation point) in the lower left of the message and send it over for review.
If everyone would take this simple step before deleting and blocking, the team would be able to make significant reductions in spammers! It’s fast. It’s effective. It’s appreciated.
I would imagine that implementing a “Do not disturb” function is something that would be complicated and time consuming. I don’t anticipate that it’s a system we’ll see in the near future, and we may never see such an option. Keep in mind, though, that we already have a means for you to handle these situations: report, block, delete. And using “invisible,” while not ideal, is another means at your disposal.
I know that the devs have fixed this problem long time ago. The game had this problem when it first launched but somehow the gold sellers dissapared after a month or two. So i’m a kittenocked that they came back with the same method and frequency all of a sudden.
Prepare in general.

Haha some humor is always nice. You know what, that’s not a bad idea as the expansion is far from release :P
One profession isn’t better or worse than the other. It all comes down to how engaged you are with your profession and how much you enjoy playing it.
Personally I play a mesmer and have played a mesmer since the beginning of gw2. Most people say that mesmer is one of ther harder profession to master. They lack in DPS overall, quite badly if you ask me, but they have a lot of strong utilities. Such as reflect, boonstipping/copying. Lot’s of stuns and daze and stealth. So even if they are squishy, they also have a lot of skills which make them hard to target.
I also have a necromancer but I get bored with her quite easy.
So I would recomend trying mesmer, but you will most likely need some practise before you can say you’re good at it.

If Sid from Ice Age was a frog. That’s how he would look like.

Chaos storm do 1 seconf daze like Elodium said and even if there is a lot of RNG involved with that skill so does apply daze quite often. If your opponent is in chaos storm for at least few seconds, he’s most likely get interrupted with daze.
i’m gonna explain it to you real easely, this game’s balance is based around PvP, where condition damage is on a very good spot
Yeah, condition damage is good in this game. I think the OP is just way off the mark. It’s not about condition damage, it’s about the enemies that we fight in PvE that makes condition damage bad. Change the enemy mechanics, and you’ll improve the functionality of condition damage – because it’s good enough, there’s no need to buff condition damage on the sole needs of PvE when a more ideal solution is improving encounters.
I agree. All that is needed is that these bosses need more tactics that make condition a viable option. Simply making builds personal rather than situational.
Only have one character, a mesmer, and i never get bored of her!
But I do have alts in different lvls too but hardly play on them and are mainly for storage.
I too have been in Glint’s cave
Great screenshot btw!
Cool idea, but the pistol warriors will get have probably been developed for a long time plus testing so i fear this idea won’t be a reality for a long time.
I’m still praying for MH pistol on mesmer’s, which have been on high demand since start of gw2 but no, we get a shield…
Like MailMail said, it looks good on paper but I think it could be easily abused. Remember the incident when mesmers would get protection on Chaos armor? It got removed because it was too strong and I fear your idea with protection + regeneration would be on the same border to be OP.
But I like the idea to have a trait based on teleportation! It just need some modification.
Swiftness instead of protection would be a good combination since we lack swiftness.
I had the same problem but searched on the internet for my location and found it. Until it’s solved, I think you’ll have to look it up on the internet.
It is not available in game at this time. Season 1 takes place after the Personal Story.
It might become available for purchase in the future, but as of right now it is not, simply due to the fact that it was not developed with replayability in mind.Aww
That sucks Season 1 sounded like a cool story. Well thanks anyway.
Season 2 is much better, at least my opinion.
Season one had a lot of information and things to do but the story kind of never went forward until the very end of the season.
That you say is true, but it wouldn’t hurt to extend it for another week with an announcement about its return. People would be more alert and pay attention to it. Also since most of the LS patches have overlapped eachother, I assume players still think that bits of the the previous patch will be around for another week, just for those who doesn’t play too much, but still contributed for the event. Or other reasons.
Also, the content is gone as Kite say. So a mercant with these exclusive items wouldn’t hurt the game itself. It would just “improve” the game in that manner that you are free to choose whatever you want, when it fits you.
(edited by Aniltiger.9186)
I know that we’ve had sevral weeks to hand in our festival tokens and for those who didn’t hand them in on time got to blame themselves. However, it is summer, a lot of people are on hollidays and abroad without being able to log into the game.
It would be most kind to put one mercant which we all can hand in the last pieces of our festival tokens that we still have in our bags. A couple of days would do.
Anenanet have done this sevral times before, by having the previous patch exclusive mercant aviable for a week just to make sure the players can still hand in their hard earned currency for the limited items. (e.g. SAB)
Please consider this. It would be most appreciated!
so now sword#2 is back to invul and u retaliation dmg?
No, It was only the F4 Skill, afaik.
It’s fixed now.
- Fixed a bug that caused this buff to grant evasion instead of invulnerability.
– Updated the description of this buff to indicate invulnerability.
Thank you Anet for a quick fix.
I really like this idea, however, it looks like they need all their recourses to repair the game.
Just checked , humans dont have any unique faces from the kit .
Edit: strange , gw2 wiki doesnt have human unique faces screenshots but dulfy had it . http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/gw2-total-makeover-kit-new-faces-human-male.jpg kinda looks like the one on the left with some changes i guess ?
Yes, it’s probably that one with lowered eyebrows and smaller nose and more narrow eyes.
Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s one of the exclusive faces in the Total Makeover Kit. You can look up Dulfy and see if one of the character faces matches the one in your pictures.
Support Main Hand Pistol for Mesmers!
Also, 2H Axe, Whips, Halbeards, Crossbow, Lazers, Granate launcher, Gravity weapons…. wait what?
And this is the reason monthly sub doesn’t need to exist.
Thanks for the feedback!
Regarding SoE was mainly for the ability deal extra damage. It could easily be replaced with Either Feast if that would suit better. Also Phantasmal Disenchanter was primary used for the lowered CD due to Illusionist Celerity and Shatterfodder. Which Nullfied can’t provide. But I guess it is situational as well personal preference.
Pyro – It is true what you say. It might not be superior the regular phantasm build damage-wise but it is a decent shatter build for PvE. Even if the phantasms attacks are lowered, it will be compensated with the shatters (which also make aoe damage) as well providing support for the group.
I don’t want to come across harsh, but this is just a weaker version of the classic 4-4-0-0-6 Shatter build. You take signet of the ether but you want to be shattering your illusions, and disenchanted would be better replaced by null field in most settings. In PvE you shouldn’t really need either and would be better off taking feedback or mimic.
It is a remodified build based on the classic shatterbuild. The difference is that it has a higher rate to spawn clones due to the nerf of Critical Infusion which is now boosted with Vigorous Revelation.
I agree that Illusionary Disenchanter could be replaced by feedback or nullfiled depending on situation.
I chose Signet of Either mainly because of its active affect. Because shattering is your primary damage so would e.g. Either Feast hard to use for its full potential.
Support and Mightstacking Build
Build Description:
This build is mainly for PvE but could be viable for PvP aspects due to the high stacks of might and the ability to maintain it high. It has a potential to reach 25 stacks without help from other players and combofields. Due to the build diversity, so can I recomend Celestial, Berserker and Rabid/Rampager. Personally, I think Berserker is the best.
Weapon of choice:
Greatsword (Sigil of Strength – Sigil of Battle)
Staff (Sigil of Strength – Sigil of Battle)
(Weaponchoice is optional, so pick whatever weapon that fits your playstyle. What is important is to be able to spawn 3 illusions whenever one shatterskill is off cooldown)
Utility Skills
Signet of Either (Healing), Mirror Images, Decoy, Phantasmal Disenchanter/Signet of Inspiration, Timewarp (PvE)/ Mass Invisibility (PvP)
Rune:
Superior Rune of Strength.
(It will help you to maintain your might as well give you boost to your damage.)
Build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fhAQJAWRnsISna2oGGqB1aIp1YOVOoerzKjUBUyLqG-TJRGwAAuEAJeCAg2fAaZAA
2 – Domination
4 – Dueling
0 – Chaos
2 – Inspiration
6 – Illusions
Domintion
Minor – Illusion of Vulnerability
Major – Mental Torment
Dueling
Minor – Critical Infusion, Sharper Images
Major – Phantasmal Fury, Deceptive Evasion
Inspiration
Minor – Vengeful Images
Major – Vigorous Revelation
Illusions
Minor – Illusionary Retribution, Illusionis Celerity, Shattered Strength
Major – Precise Wrack, Illusionary Invigoration, Illusionary Persona
Optional traits for tweaking:
Illusionary Invigoration, Phantasmal Fury
Crucial Traits:
Deceptive Evasion, Vigorous Revelation, Shattered Strength, Illusionary Persona, Illusionis Celerity
How the build works:
This build heavily depends on shatters. To shatter your illusions, you will need illusions. That is why it is important to maintain 3 illusions at any cost. When your primary weapon have its cooldown off, then you swich for your secondary weapon. It will give you might (because of the Sigil) and ability to spawn new illusions.
Keep close to your enemy, that way you won’t miss out the Illusionary Persona Effects which is extremly important. If you are using staff, then stay in close combat as you will gain might at a higher rate.
Remeber to dodge. Because of Illusionary Revelation and Critical Infusion traits you will have 100% uptime on vigor which mean you will be able to dodge twice as often. It will spawn clones for upcoming shatters and make you able to avoid incoming damage more often. The trait also support your group which will make them able to survive longer.
Lastly, this might take some training but if you use Greatsword, then spawn phantasms when your shatters are on cooldown. They might have the chance to attack twice before you shatter which give you more damage.
If you use Staff when shatters are on cooldown, then spawn clones for AA which give might, fury, bleed and burning.
Please try it and tell me what you think!
