Must be a hipster that played GW2 before it was cool.
So eles/engineers don’t stack might?
Of course they do, but what i’m trying to say is that there isn’t enough build diversity and demand on supporters.
Ever seen a group that specificly ask for a supporter? If you have, then it must be rare.
It is because most players feel that a fully dps geared and traited players is more beneficial in a group.
Nerfing Zerker won’t solve the problem. What the developers should do is to make support more attractive in groups. Basicly, if you got a supporter in your group, you’ll do more damage. And if you would have another type of supporter, then you will take less health damage etc.
That is one of the reasons why Mesmers felt some hope when Power Block (10 sec CD on interrupt trait) was bugged so it could go trough defiance. They suddenly had an active CC role that would be very attractive in dungeons.
That is was players want. Not nerfs on the most popular playstyle.

I use it because I’ve made Twilight. Would be a waste not to use it!
Sold a precursor, to buy a more expensive precursor. (Tooth of Frostfang for Dusk)
To make the combat in PvX more interesting, I thought that it could be a cool idea to have one skill that is dedicated to the enviroment where you are standing in.
These skill should be primaraly used for crowd control.
Some skill suggestions based on the players position in the world.
Sand/Dessert – Activating this skill will blurr the targeted enemy screen for a few seconds. PvE enemies wanders around aimlessly.
Ice/Snow – Create a sheet of ice on your position. If the enemy enters the area, it will slide forward, not being able to move at any other direction than the direction faced when entering the ice sheet area.
Coastline – Splash water on your enemy and making them turn 180 degrees at their position.
Grass/Flowers – Making the enemy instantly and randomly turn around at their position 2-3 times, 1 sec interval (pollen allergy and few sneezes)
Pebble/Rock – Making a rounded area impassible for 2-3 sec. (some magic could make this effect more “realistic”.)
These are of course suggestions and could be tweaked to make it balanced.
Would this idea make combat more interesting regarding combat strategies or would it make it uneven and gamebreaking bad?
Thanks for your input.

As far as I know so won’t Anet make any kind of raids in GW2. That’s why we have hardcore world events.
Personally I think crafting a precursor with materials which can only be obtained though achievements, dedication, experience and a pinch of RNG is the best way.
Your suggestion would make EVERYONE want to do those raids day in and day out and suddenly, legendaries aren’t as unique anymore.
Highly Skilled Player hits you with confusion…
You:
A) Do nothing, and die from Highly Skilled Player auto attacks.
B) Defend yourself, and die from confusion damage.
C) Cure the condition, only to have it instantly reapplied.
D) Log off and play another game, because it’s the sensible thing you can do.
First of all, confusion has been nerfed by 50% or so in WvW and PvP so it won’t instakill you. If you fail to see the big confusionstack on you, then you deserve to loose/die.
Confusion can not, and will never be “instantly reapplied” as you say. At least not the amount of stacks that will have a great impact on your health. Also, for any profession that can apply confusion, it’s impossible to maintain such high amount of stacks.
If you got confusion on yourself, why not dodge upcoming attacks/confusionskills and run away strategically. Most players that have confusion as their main high-dmg source will be greatly hurt as you run around and nullify their confusionstacks. It won’t be simple for them to reapply those stacks again.
Lastly, please leave the game if you feel like it. But personally, your reason it the most ridiculous reason to leave the game.

This build feels quite odd. You focus on clone deaths, yet depend on shatters and also interrups for boons.
It feels like a mess but could potenially be a good build if you learn how to utalize all aspects of this build.
Imbalance is a good thing, but only when it comes to builds. Aparently, you have been having a playstyle which make mesmer’s PU survivability and damage shine. If you want to conter this, try to find a build that is strong on condition removal and boons. Also learn how to fight in that situation, however, that is something we can’t teach you. That’s something you have to learn by knowing your own character and knowing how to react and what skills to use at the right time.
+1 on this.
Also add some baroque and rococo dresses. It would be so amazing on my Mesmer!
It would certainly take a lot of time to develop such a complex combat system for the Mesmer and will easily get broken, but I like the new idea. That idea would make mesmer more of an illusion master and not a clonefactory.

So, I was wondering around in the PvP area, trying out some new builds and tactics, having a good time. When I was finally going to try out this new build, I thought it would be a great idea to try it out on one of the profession combatants as they always put up a honest and decent fight.
It turned out my build was up to no good and I got downed. But then i saw that I was only one hit away from downing my enemy, the elementalist combatant.
Great, I thought, and got one hit on her and down she fell beside me. I started to regain some hope after all. I mean, she’s there, cumbling beside me!
Then suddenly, she rose up, starting to deliver the final killing blow!
IMPOSSIBLE! How could this happen? Are my eyes decieving me? Has she been blessed by the gods above?
Before I could believe what I was seeing, she killed me. I was now laying there on the ground, defeated.
As my spirit started to escape my body, I suddenly see that she’s in her downed state again!
My spirit is filled with anger. How could this happen?!
Only a WvW player would skip a sentry post.
Every Elemantalist scepter wielders must feel like 80 year old nun after bending their back like that for such a long period. Either that or the biggest back muscles we’ve ever seen.
To be honest, they should break all professions so badly that they ultimatly need to redesign the whole trait-and skill line.
It looks like the only support anyone can be is based on the amount of dps you got, or if you can boost others dps with either mightstacking or time warp. Everything else is irrelevant.
What Mesmer needs at this moment is bugs to be fixed and adjusted and clear build for different roles.
I still wait for that day when torch or staff will be just as good as sword and focus in PvE.
Try to contact support. I don’t think there is anything you can do to fix this problem by yourself.
“Rabble rabble rabble…” – Mesmers
(edited by Aniltiger.9186)
I can see the Unid’s rise in price as people are tempted to gamble. Look at those really high priced dyes that many players would like to have. Those who feel lucky will buy a small potion of Unid’s in hope to get e.g. Abyss, rather than paying the whole sum at the TP. Just like precursors. Therefore, a demand will always exist apart from Bifrost.
Also many players open their Unid’s which make the supplies dramaticaly lower than expected.
I would assume the price would rise in a few months to be a good profitable investment.
Broken.
To be honest, I don’t know what could be the new Meta at the moment. Trying out lots of builds myself to see something that’s viable for PvE and PvP.
Or having a box which you can click on if you want to repeat it or not when you create your character would be a nice idea.
Thank you so much for this information!
It’s really a shame they can’t work togeather and it’s not customizable… The color combination is quite horrible as you said.
At least I can use the cap with my armor.
Hopefully more changes will come in our favor.
With the new update, I saw that my GW2 Dragon T-shirt and Cap (which i obtained via redeemcode and gemstore) are suddenly lost somewhere. I have searched everywhere and I have no idea where it has gone or if it has been removed from the game.
I have read though the patchnotes and haven’t seen any information about taking these items from the game. According to the patchnotes so should the T-shirt become a tonic and the cap as a head gear skin.
Can anyone shed some liht over this problem?
I would love to use these skins again…
You must be confused because they have never dealt any damage at all from the release of the game. Maybe 1-4 dmg max.
Call me a “noob” if you want, but…what does “selling” dungeons mean?
It means that a player/players make open slots for others to join the group at the end of a dungeon. Those who join the group then pay a sum of gold in order to kill the last boss and get the full reward.
Those who have fought their way thorugh the dungeon will get more gold for their effort and the buyer will get the items they need for a few gold and less time spent inside that dungeon.
Sevral months ago Chaos Armor got nerfed, from being boosted. Before it did 3 or 5 sec protection on activation and each hit on chaos armor would give a boon and one condition. It resulted in a very overpowering skill which made mesmers hard to kill.
I think it was a good nerf, but now it feels that chaos armor don’t do too much help in needed situations.
Not buying silk when it was between 8-14 copper each, and then sell after ascended armor update. Went for gossamer instead, which lowered in price after an hour or two.
Having high expectations that build diversity would be a core freature.
Achievements and many misc items are accountbound. With the new updates on the 15th April so will skins and much more be account bound. So there is no need to “stick” to your previous main character. Also, this game is very alt friendly!
The crit reduction will affect everyone because it’s gear related, not restricted towards one profession. So yes, we will be viable for dungeons and groups as we have always been.
It also looks like condi-shatter builds will be more attractive, but it will probably be a build more adapted for WvW.
Put a sigil of Bloodlust on one of your weapon. It will help a lot.
The best way to get good gear and saving money is to craft exotic (if you have a crafting profession) or buy it from the Trading Post.
With loot, i usually salvage white and blue rarity and forge green for yellow gear, which I in turn salvage for ectoplasm.
Avoid the Mystic Forge if you don’t intend to craft anything out of it or to rely on luck.
Equip runes that fits your build best. There isn’t any right or wrong to be honest. With the upcoming updates, it might be best to stick with one type of rune.
A precursor is the weapon needed to craft a legendary. In other words, an ingredient.
Also, when you pick traits, focus on what the traits give you, not what stats you get from the trait line
You really captures the flaws in this Living Story. +1 for you!
It had much potential, yet most of us were dissapointed. I love the game itself and its rich lore, but I have never felt that the Living Story was touching. It never played with my emotions if I can put it that way.
Anyway, season one is over and season 2 will come. It has a lot of potential and now Anet have much more experience with Living Story. So it looks bright
Now, don’t bee too dramatic. What I think is that you don’t have the sufficient reaction or skill to play a Mesmer which so low defence.
Try to get more defensive stats, traits and playstyle
PU works wonders so try it out or tweak it for your own taste.
I agree 100%… This is only useful in WvW / PvP and does little for PvE. I sure hope that the other new traits are not all focused on player verses player combat. Confusion is already the worst condition for PvE and yet we keep getting more PvP focused traits.
Talking about confusion, wouldn’t it be good to have a trait to make, for example, half the confusion dmg a damage over time, and the other half when the enemy is doing an attack. That would make confusion mush more viable for PvE.
The question is, how long cooldown will this trait have…
I that has been for all major chest events. It was implimented months ago
Hi Zaragoz!
First of all is that you need to choose either Phantasm damage or Shatter damage. Condition build is usually quite weak for mesmers in PvE so i wouldn’t recomend that.
For a Shatter build so would I would suggest:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgAQBYEB1DtD8+OSKatUrkCc7CB
(Personally I swich Illusionary Invigoration for Bouncing elasticity)
And for Phantasm:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgAQBgk4Mjovc0HwOJFqO1lKgbA (Greatsword)
Or
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgAQBgk4MDmvc0HwOpCqukCczbA (MH Sword and Focus)
You could use these as a base and then tweak it for your personal preference!
That is really interesting. Maybe someone could make a test and see if we get vulnerability when an enemy interrupts us :O
Or it could just be limited to drinking xD
It needs to be the same type of armor (Light) and you will need a fine transmutation stone.
If you need the skin for another character you will first need to transmute (regular transmutation stone) to a blue/white armor piece, place that armor in your bank, change character and then transmute it again but with a fine transmutation stone on your lvl 80 armor.
In my opinion it is one of the best utilities a mesmer could have, however, it’s also extreamly situational. It is almost useless against melee opponents.
If they could somehow make the first melee and ranged attack to get absorbed (and recieving it’s damage+condition) and then block plus reflect after, then I would use it all times.
Even if the duration would be nerfed.
They should have put up a champion NPC to run from ground lvl to the top (15-30 min interval) for people who plays on the “off-hours” so they have a chance to get to the top. Because it is near impossible to do this LS without 5+ more players around you.
I wish chaos storm would spawn a lot of butterflies which flies around the area and explodes
I don’t like this idea, but i can see why people want this type of idea.
What’s so bad about all these ideas which prioritise WvW rank and time played is that there will be a serious gap between hardcore WvWers and Casual players and it’s not fair (We all bought the game for the same price*).
I’m not a hardcore WvW player, but when i’m in WvW using a shatter build it’s often 20/20/0/0/30.
It works perfectly fine.
Only armor sets i’ve used are Celestial and Zerker and both works well in WvW. But I usually go for celestial for some defensive stats so i don’t get killed instantly.
Let loot from WvW get in your bag immidatly, if you get loot. Too many people running around like necked chickens around the battlefield in order to loot whatever you’ve got. Plus you’ll be sure to get rewarded for your contribution.
11) Remove ascended gear
Tbh, i don’t think ascended gear really make a huge difference.
There are a lot of videos showing players (below lvl 80) actually defeating well geared players simply by the knowlage of your profession and character on the battlefield.
I’ve used 30/30/0/0/10 build lately with is based on mantra, especially Empowering Mantras.
Recently I’ve done some testing on what skills this trait affects and apparently, after a few tests in the mists, it doesn’t transfer the increased damage (when all 4 mantras are charged) to Illusions.
Is this intentional? And how “good” is this trait when it only affect certain offensive skills which isn’t phantasm-summoning?
Well mesmer’s lack decent condition removal abilities. I don’t know what you are doing wrong, if it’s your gear, playstyle or build but for me I often feel that a defensive/retaliating approach is the best rather than busting them down and become vulnerable for a good amount of seconds.
