Black Desert or Arche Age has visually pleasant character models (I checked many char creators). But I don’t know how chars look in the game play. At least, if full character editor is included, don’t look at vanilla Skyrim (char mods ok) or upcoming Sims 4 (terrible and outdated).

Like in Skyrim: enable FPV by scrolling close. Checkbox no-FPV/yes-FPV in options menu would be very bad idea.

Place enable toggle for this feature to menu for us (me) for testing. I posted other screenshots related feature suggestions recently, and they could be tested as well.

When scrolling close, don’t fade the char out too soon. I would like to take close screenshots of my char.

In vista and jumping puzzles, the char mostly does not fade invisible enough, when the environment pushes the camera closer. Only what I see, are teeths and eye balls. That should be adjusted too.

Skyrim has a FPV camera mod which can be used to see own hands and weapons better, or the like.

Suggestion: linking from trade post

AnniMira.2506

I cannot link items from trade post. Purpose is to show and ask about items prior purchase.

NOTE: When players make individual deals/swaps, they use linking as a proof that the item really exists in the inventory. TP linking could ruin that if TP links are not different.

If I ask help from a player who has a Legendary or two, she/he usually knows about everything in the game. That is good. Lets not change that.

Peaceful things to do in Gw2 (Suggestions)

Boss fish fishing. Catching to net. Dragging to beach. Group event. Hmm… players would need to encircle the boss fish and the game would create the fishnet if players are encircling enough. Or, at begin, the players go inside a blue circle and the game joins the players with lines (the netfish): first players need to fold open the net, then encircle the boss fish, then revive fallen allies because they would stop the net segments from moving.

Graphic enhancing mods?

GW2 devs could look at the Skyrim mods and their shaders. Many shaders are open source already. Creating quality and modern textures requires work. E.g., parallax. GW2 looks good if you ask me. Not like modded Skyrim, not like Crysis, but good.

Too much jungle would ruin the gameplay, say.

How about recreating some part of GW2 world with Skyrim’s Creation Kit, for comparison? Or with Crysis editor.

Good work: keep these

There are many good decisions done with GW2:

Map is rectangular and adjustable, does not rotate, does not have border, map controls are hidden until pointer is on the map. (I have seen GW1 and early GW2 videos; the map has not always been this good.)

Characters are nice. In-game behaving is nice too.

Party icons are at the edge of the screen, not cluttering the view. See Neverwinter.

The center of view is not cluttered. See Neverwinter and many more.

The name tag texts are rendered in pixel space, and thus are clear. Compare to Arch Age or Neverwinter for texture rendered: too small tags or too large and blurry when near. GW2 got this perfect: the names are readable even when the char is a far away.
Have needed that a lot. (But the name tags clutter the view specially in boss events and in WvW; however, I prefer readability of the names. Fade a far away tags smoothly invisible?)

Weapon damage numbers does not clutter the screen. Number 0 is better than text “missed”. See Neverwinter and many more.

Above-head-tags are better than on-the-armor tags. See Neverwinter.

Possibility to take screenshots. Have taken stereo screenshots but have not yet viewed them; later. (How about Ctrl+PrintScreen instead of combo Ctrl+Shift+h and PrintScreen for HUDless screenshots?)

Bug: weapon sets mixed up

I have the following weapon setting:

(1a) Scepter, (1b) empty, (2a) Sword, (2b) Torch.

But, in the game, I have Scepter+Torch or Sword+Torch. How to get that Scepter+empty case?

Suggestion: player camera improvements

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

AnniMira.2506

Small addition:

(1b) Vertical movement of the look-at point within the char’s height range.

Motivation: With the current system, the shoes are clipped out of the screen so easily. If I could slightly lower the look-at point, I would get better screenshots.

Now I have to dolly away, making my char too small for the purpose. The cases (1), (1b), and (2) would help in getting the char fully to screenshots in close shots. All the details of the char and equipment.

Suggestion: Inventory improvements

AnniMira.2506

Ty for screenshot.

The case (4) would practically work like this:

Both the inventory and the bank would have the bag slots. Player would drag and drop the filled bags from inventory to bank, or other way.

Nesting would not be possible, because like now, only empty bags can be inserted to inventory.

The bank system is coded now differently than the inventory, but they could be coded exactly the same. Player would unlock additional bank bag slots. (Collectibles debosit should not be changed.)

Suggestion: player camera improvements

AnniMira.2506

(1) When player’s char goes to sleep or sits, the look-at point of the camera stays up. Making it impossible to take screenshots of the sleeping char; nothing else than above.

The rests are for screenshotting:

(2) Add finer dolly. Creation Kit editor of Skyrim game does have the coarse scroll dolly, but also finer dolly when user keeps key v down and moves the mouse pointer. Oblivion game has this too.

(3) Ability to dolly closer.

Note: two below may be used for cheating, making the game unfair. Don’t implement if you suspect that too.

(4) Ability to dolly more away. Some buildings are big; aerial shots.

(5) Ability to move the camera, and rotate its orientation. Like how Vistas are doing.
(5b) If you have only look-at point in the camera, then allow movement of the look-at point. Camera already rotates around look-at point.

Suggestion: notes field to friend list

AnniMira.2506

When I add nickname, the field editor is empty. The previous text is not there as starting point.

And, I did not lost the original permanently: just set empty nickname.

If I remember and write “Name.1234 ask this and that”, the dot is taken out; not a big problem.

Summary: we need separate field for notes. Not necessary a new column, but extra line which can be hided/unhided. That is my final suggestion

Some kind of separation of different chats: the chats you need to follow while playing, and the chats where you may just chat. Mini chat window, and a chat dialog which can be opened and closed.

Did you read and understand? Don’t let Azrael’s comment to mislead the issue.

Ability to take only one (or a few) items from trading post.

Now only option is to take all. I’m able to move stuff between chars through bank but it is not preferred due the need to switch chars.

AnniMira.2506

(1) Move the “x” inside the chat tab config menu. I have accidentally deleted chat tabs so many times.

(2) I should be able to organize the order of chat tabs. If I have accidentally deleted the main chat tab at the first position, I can get it back only by deleting all tabs and remaking all.

(3) Possible bug: the chat lines may vanish if I briefly look at other chat tabs or change char.

(4) I should be able to copy the chat text, or be the chat text saved to a file. Now taking screenshots is only practical way to take notes; and because the chat window is small, it is akward.

Suggestion: notes field to friend list

AnniMira.2506

Add a notes field to the friend list.

I would like to shortly write why I have added a char/player to friends list. Like “ask what weapon; 8/20 16:20” when I would like to ask about a weapon later; date and time is for finding screenshots. Like “in party at Kessex; 8/20 16:20”. Like “ask about guild”.

Suggestion: deactivate 3D picking w UI off

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: AnniMira.2506

AnniMira.2506

Deactive 3d picking and highlighting of the picked 3D models (players, npc etc.) when the UI has been turned off (by ctrl shift h).

Motivation: Highlighting ruins the screenshots. In growded scenes, highlighting cannot be avoided.

Suggestion 2: One pixel margin to sides of the screen to prevent the picking of graphics. This would be useful when UI is not turned off; to avoid highlighting, I could move to pointer to bottom of the screen.
Note: the margin would only be for picking activitity, not to shrink the screen size or otherwise change the screen graphics.

Suggestion: Inventory improvements

AnniMira.2506

(1) Button to quickly scroll to the end, or the place would not reset when inventory is closed/opened.

(2) 4-8 slots which are always visible, and does not scroll. E.g., to keep the salvage kit and buffs always easily accessible.

(3) Inventory tabs. I would like to separate crafting stuff from all other.

(4) Bags movable to and from the bank with their content. I would like to move crafting stuff to bank, and adventuring stuff from bank to inventory when going out.
The compact operation could cause problem; inventory tabs could help there.

Suggestion: crafting station bank

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: AnniMira.2506

AnniMira.2506

It would be nice if crafting station would have bank where player can keep materials and products of crafting.

Motivation: Inventory gets cluttered pretty quickly with crafting products. Also there is no need to carry the whole kitchen content all of the time.

I have inventory suggestions too, and post separately: if I would have cooking stuff in one inventory bag, it would be nice to be able to move the whole bag to the bank. I would take cooking bags from the bank prior cooking.

Suggestion: map scrolling with arrow keys

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: AnniMira.2506

AnniMira.2506

In full screen map, it would help if the map can alternatively be moved with arrow keys. One key press could move the map 1/2 or 1/3 of the screen.

Motivation: Moving the map with mouse started to feel akward. Image viewers have this kind of movement, and it feels ok.

Try also WASD keys. I prefer arrow keys.

Stuck in the map or seeing map art issues?

Bloodtide Coast. Top of the Mole’s Head. Toward NW from Vista.

The art disappear and appear when the player camera is turned. Player can go through walls.

Perhaps the place is not meant to be visited, but the access is in the north side of the hill.

I have experienced crashing for 1-2 weeks now (now = Aug 16, 2014). Would turning chat off help in testing this issue? Like keeping only guild and personal chat channels, disabling all others.

I reported all crashes as the game launcher nicely wanted that.

Trade post: selling one copy, two taken

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

AnniMira.2506

Hi. In trade post, I sold 1 copy of weapon, but 2 copies were taken from inventory. I had two exactly same copies of the weapon. When I sold the copy, I double checked that the number of copies to be sold was 1, and that the copies sold was 1 (after pressing sell). I double checked, because I’m in belief that this bug has happened to me earlier. Note that the two weapons took two inventory slots and both were not equipped.

I made almost immediately a bug report via the game, if you check the game logs and want to know the approx date and time when this happened.

(Mystic Forge seems to work correctly: I had two identical armor pieces and fed one of them to Mystic Forge. Have not tested mail system or destroy which also takes items from inventory.)
