i hope the new content is done smart and isnt “beatable” only with numbers of auto attack spammers.
It’s not.
Granted, there a bunch of different mission types and they all vary in difficulty. But given that this is guild content, we created some challenges that should hopefully require some decent coordination. And while the risen temple of Grenth is a fine example of very hard event, I think you’ll find that the guild content pressures you ways other than dealing lots of damage. A few missions haven’t even been completed by our internal testers yet (but they came extremely close).
Monthlies reset at the end of the month.
The zones of damage are coming from the god statues. They are all over Orr. When you clear a temple, the corresponding statues are deactivated.
Of course, now I’ve ruined that one as well. But there’s a lot of yellow creatures out there that never get killed. Go kill them all.
haha, i definitely will do so next time i wanna level up. btw, does this bonus experience go up further than 200% when even more time passes? and have you considered extending this bonus to loot/MF or even events (that haven’t been played in a while) and their respective rewards (exp+karma+coin)? i believe this could aid you in trying to repopulate many abandoned open-world areas.
No, two hours is the cap.
Also I have proposed adding this kind of boost to events, but I don’t think it’s a high priority at this time.
In my opinion, you’re still wrong.
Trying hunting for bonus XP on monsters. If you kill a monster that hasn’t been killed in two hours, it’s worth an additional 200% I believe. Which means that those yellow moas next to that so-called profitable event chain are worth about 500xp a piece (plus your food XP bonus, which you should always have running). As I recall, there’s like twenty of them just walking around on the ice there.
Of course, now I’ve ruined that one as well. But there’s a lot of yellow creatures out there that never get killed. Go kill them all.
Dasorine has it. Ultimately clearing all five temples should make taking the gates to Arah a much easier task.
What would you like to be able to spend it on?
The short answer is that new content is not going to drive people away from the game. There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.
The long answer is that guilds are indeed both social structures and reward mechanisms. We realize rewards can strain social connections and we do our best to prevent it. We want you to be able to play with your friends without feeling pressured by the game to spend your time doing otherwise. We’re still fine-tuning some details, but the general idea is that rewards from new guild content system are rate-limited in such a way that a smaller, more-focused groups can maintain a similar pace to the larger ones. So no, you won’t have to abandon your friends and join mega-guilds to benefit from the system, but that’s not to say the mega-guilds won’t have plenty of stuff to do.
I don’t want to go into too many more details until our team formally releases all of the information in our upcoming blog post. But I hope that helps for now.
Influence is still in use, however, it can be earned through relatively unremarkable actions such as simply logging in. Completing the new guild content will require the skill and coordination of your guild, so we have made special rewards deserving of that feat.
Also, influence is a shared currency, whereas the merits are earned both on the guild and personal level. There will be more information soon.
Good news, everyone! We’ve got a bunch of guild content coming up in the February update:

I just wanted to “pop” in and say that I understand how important this is to you all, and I agree that the slingshot sounds really cool when it’s fired. Unfortunately, the root of the issue is not just a mere oversight but rather a technical issue that has to do with the differences between these two weapon types. When we discovered the issue we made the determination that it was better to have the pop gun without the pop sound than not have it all.
In this case, I’m sure we want to solve this problem for other cases in the future so I would say chances are very good that this will be fixed. I just can’t say exactly when it will be fixed though. It probably won’t happen before the holiday is over.
It was intentional. The two mystery achievements this month were holiday themed.
The small, medium, large, giant, and personalized gift boxes all have an equal chance of dropping the endless tonic and the unbreakable bell. In fact, all of the boxes (excluding MTX) drop very similar things at very similar rates. The only reason there are different ones is largely related to crafting, so that lower level players can find and craft level-appropriate stuff from recipes and components.
Fairly often there is no gift inside at all, only mobs. Is that intentional?
Occasionally there is no gift inside.
The presents inside the box work the same way that resource nodes do. Everyone can loot them. The major difference is that they disappear shortly after they appear. This may lend to the perception that someone else has taken the present, but I can assure that this has not actually happened.
The trick or treat bags that came out of the haunted doors worked the same way, but no one complained because those doors were prone to zerging.
It is intended that the monthly achievements count, as they are holiday themed.
Definitely not fun nor challenging to open one of those mystery boxes and those level 31 Toy Ventari (or Skritt) pop out, especially if you are in a low-level area like Plains of Asford (level 10 area just south west of Ascalonian Catacombs). Made like 4 attempts at them and cost something like >10 silver for wy cost/armor repair.
Thank you for reporting this. We are aware and will have it fixed soon. There are only two instances of this problem out of hundreds of boxes. Hopefully you can find some elsewhere.
There’s also presents spawning all around the world with these toys inside of them now.
Please refrain from posting multiple threads on the same topic. This thread is now closed.
I don’t know where this information came from, but it was false. It’s possible they were talking about how the activity/mini-game system automatically puts you into groups.
No posts have been closed or deleted. I renamed some of the sarcastic and/or unhelpful topics to actually represent what they contain. As those are still very open and alive, I’m closing this one.
If you can’t find your posts, try looking through your message history.
Is there an update as to when this is going to be fixed? I will be traveling with family for most of Wintersday so I only have a few days to participate and I hate not being able to open presents. Very much not happy.
There are currently only two actual spots (specific spots) where this happens. We’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.
They will continue to change throughout the week as Tixx produces the different toys. There’s also a random chance to see a toy (or skritt) from an earlier day. I’m sorry that these are currently too difficult, have you tried tackling them with an extra person or two?
You’ll have enough to make any two you’d like if you play all five days.
Every profession gets one skill that is specific to snowball fight. We thought it would be nice to retain some of your profession’s style in the game.
Yes, you’ll still be able to go back for everything after the 20th. You have until January 3rd.
‘I wouldn’t call it a dungeon, but rather a collection of events inside of a 5-player instance.’
Isnt that what a Dungeon essentially is? lol
No, our dungeons are full of super tough monsters and potentially very challenging content. The Infininarium plays more like normal open world events.
Autumn, your power is calculated by taking your gear level and your current level into an account. So if you’re level 30 and you have level 30 gear, you should have no trouble at all.
Look for the next toy, frame, and stack of parts tomorrow!
I wouldn’t call it a dungeon, but rather a collection of events inside of a 5-player instance.
Please check your collectibles, we added new collectible slots for these items.
But you see, Tixx has not arrived yet! In a matter of moments that tonic will allow you to see the very first toy that he brings. You’ll have to wait until he makes his full tour to see them all!
Nice work there.
You’re about 8.5 hours too early.
The holiday content awards you with gift boxes that contain these things.
They’re not resource nodes. They’re finite and pretty random at that. Also there’s much better ways to get them. Is it really causing that much of a problem?
You only need 12 achievements to get the title. You can pick from any of the 14 new achievements in the special event category and the two monthly achievements. We did this so that if there’s a particular type of content that you’re just really not interested in, you can probably skip that one thing and still get the title.
Just a quick update, I went through everything and only found these two instances of alarming level range disparity. We should be able to get these fixed shortly, but until then you can simply avoid the area (or get an epic zerg together to take it down and post the video so I can see it).
Thanks for reporting. I’d greatly appreciate any further reports here.
Also, just for clarification, the spawn levels should, in fact, be based on the location they’re at and not the player that opened the box.
I’d be interested to know where you saw the upleveled skritt in Metrica province. I’ve found the other two locations.
The two holiday monthly achievements also count towards the title.
The monthly tab ended up getting two of them. They count toward the meta achievement, which is actually not part of that 16.
When you open gift boxes (that come from playing holiday content) you randomly get one of those vendor items, or the currency that you can use at the vendor.
Sorry, I realize that wasn’t clear. You WILL get one of those weapons out of that box.
They have small chance to come out of gift boxes. The primary usage will be revealed with the new content. Again, you should be able to get plenty without relying on drops or the trading post. They do have a secondary use, and that’s what these drops are for.
EDIT: Also, gift boxes come from playing activities, opening mysterious gifts in the open world, and random world drops.
It’s a random shot at any of the weapon skins that you can buy from that vendor.
You’ll be able to get more than enough of this material participating in Tixx’s Infinarium instances, the first of which will be available 12 hours from now, in the Grove.
There’s always next year.
I understand you are excited about the fact you added jumping to your sequel, but for the love of God can you get over it already?!?!?!?
Well we do also have a snowball fight game, a music game, and a whole bunch of other stuff coming. I would hardly say that we’re “stuck on it.”
There’s one of those by Ascalon Catacombs in Fields of Ashford: level 12 area, spawns level 31 Skritt about half the time.
Yep, got that one on my radar as well. Basically I’m checking the entire game. Should be able to get this addressed before….other things…start coming out of those boxes.
