Depends on if Quaggans are defending XD. But yea, I can solo a camp if the Guild Claimer doesn’t have the buff. I run a healing shouts build so I’m pretty defensively specced. Sword/Warhorn, Axe/Shield. It’s not a walk in the park but it’s doable.

In my opinion the problem isn’t how hard it is to survive a “thief attack.” The problem is that a thief can do very high damage while having the same (or greater) survivability as defensively specced players. Yes, they will die in just a few hits because they are squishy BUT it is next to impossible to hit a thief who is very good at the game. Scenario: A thief attacks you. Let’s say you are a good player and manage to mitigate the thief’s burst (assuming he is running a burst build). Now it’s your turn to attack. Any good thief will already have created distance and prepped themselves for an espape. And so many escape options to choose from…stealth…shadowstep…dodges…shortbow #5…stunbreakers. The problem is not that thieves bring high damage to the fight or that they have very good burst. I have no problem with that. The problem is that they can spec full glass cannon and still have very good survivability due to the mechanics of the profession. If a thief wants to run away midfight because you’re a better player and outplayed him, he will get away unless he’s absolutely terrible. If you want to run away midfight because you got outplayed by a thief, good luck.
Ah yes, those super-pesky non-existent highly offensively specced defensive thieves. The thieves everyone is complaining about is full offense. They don’t run with extra dodge, shadowsteps, or stun breakers. They have 3 seconds of stealth and backstab like beasts and that’s it. No run speed, no extra invisibility without a Cloak and Dagger hit, nothing but a tremendous outpouring of damage once every 45-60 seconds.
Thieves who can do what you are talking about sacrifice a lot of damage potential in order to be able to do so. They jump in, hope to take you by surprise or catch you after you are already damaged, and then either make the kill or get away….more often than not, it’s the latter if their opponent knows how to fight a thief.
[/quote]
I suppose I misspoke what I meant to say earlier. A Thief can gear themselves into full berserker’s gear and still have very good survivability through traits, utilities, and weapon skills. All while maintaining very good burst and/or DPS builds. I’m not talking about the idiot thieves who try to backstab. Those are laughable. I already stated that my problem is not with the damage that they can deal. It’s the fact that nearly any thief (except the aforementioned backstabbing fools) will be able to run away from me successfully mid-fight if he wants to with no chance of me catching him, regen to full health, and then re-engage on-demand. Thieves are the only profession I ever have trouble finishing off in a 1v1 once I’ve started winning. Any other profession that tries to run I can CC to keep them close or catch up to them with permanent swiftness and a big lunge. I can try to CC a thief all I want but the ones who have developed some sense of skill will be able to get away. The only other profession that gives me a hard time occasionally is Mesmer but I can usually get them it just takes a little longer than other professions. Once again, my problem is not fighting Thieves as I generally don’t have too much trouble fighting them off. My problem is how easy it is for them to disengage and reset a fight.

Idea: Make shield stance grant the Warrior 1 second of retaliation per attack blocked while in shield stance. (Cap it at 10 seconds)

It’s obvious that the skill needs to be reworked. Here’s an idea: Make Rampage a stance. Keep all your weapon and utility skills. Gives you ONE of these three things: retaliation, stability, or quickness. Gives you a 20% chance to stun an enemy for 1 second on attack. Maybe that would be a little overpowered (specifically the combo of quickness and stunning) but it’s just an idea. Also, it would be nice to get an elite shout. Or just remove elite skills from the game (this will never happen) seeing as it seems like the only purpose of elite skills is to make specific fights one-sided. I would much rather have 4 utilities than an elite skill. Maybe remove elite skills from SPvP/TPvP?

As a GW1 player, I REAAALLLYYY want to be able to save my builds. I like to play a ton of different styles in pvp and pve and I hate how painful it is to remember exactly how i was traited, geared, and utilitied for a certain build. We had a feature in GW1 where we could save build templates (and gear templates for pvp) and it really encouraged players to experiment with different builds to diversify their gameplay and have fun but as of right now, I find myself sticking with one build because it is such as hassle to switch builds back and forth in the current state. Also, it doesn’t help that you share the same inventory space for your pve and pvp character. I can’t store an excess of weapons and armor with different sigils and runes on them because I can’t sacrifice the inventory space when I go back to pve.

Is it just me or are Survivability warriors nothing compared to guardians?

@Argis
Once again I’m just supposed to inherently “trust you.” Sorry, but when I’m on my Warrior, I get results and one thing you cannot even try to argue about is that Warriors have wayyyyy more mobility than Guardians. I’ve already told you how ridiculously effective a 5 Warrior dungeon crew can be. Try to run a 5 Guardian dungeon crew. I bet it takes twice as long.More mobility then Guardians?Maybe………..but stable? No
Warrior are down often if not dead, And wiped/fail at some of dungeon are common.
Dun think, that I never run a 5 warrior dungeon before.
Compare to guardians are maybe slow but they are stable, that fail/wipe at any-point of dungeon infact is very rare to see that happen.
Considering time total put in after failing/wipe(which would takes much longer guardians) and repair bills, I rather go for 5 guardians
But anyway who does 5 warriors or 5 guardians on purpose all the time? is just plain kitten Anyone in the world prefer well balanced team
Mobility is a must for me in WvW seeing as I’m more of a supply disruptor/camp taker, not to mention I’ve never lost a 1v1 fight on my Warrior in WvW…and that includes several Guardians who thought they could out-tank me…and no they weren’t just lower levelled players. You can tell just by looking at the level when someone is a “real” level 80 or not…and it’s pretty easy to spot exotic gear too. Only thing you really can’t be sure of is the jewelry. Sorry, but you sound just like another person who prefers the Guardian to the Warrior and it fits your playstyle better so you just assume Warrior is worse.Never lost to anyone on 1vs1?? “OMG YOU MUST GODLIKE” -.- Very Unlikely I been many spvp GvG…………….et,c even go youtube videos hoping to see warrior ROLF stomp guardians, BY FAR I SEEN ZERO! and guardian always has the upper hand.
I not saying guardian OP if that is what you defending. I’m just saying that warriors can be improve to be more viable class
More mobility than Guardians is not a maybe, it’s a fact. Less stability is true but you don’t need a ton of stability once you get good at the game. If you’re wiping in dungeons with any group…just….wow. The 5 Warrior groups I run with nobody even goes down let alone dies so I don’t know where you’re coming up with these repair costs…and the dungeons still go by faster. Yea, balanced groups are usually better but if 5 Warrior groups can be run that successfully I’d say the profession is in a pretty fair state. So far my favorite dungeon running setup has been 2 Warriors, 2 Guardians, 1 Elementalist. It’s unstoppable when you’re all specced correctly. Also, the reason that Warriors will beat a dungeon faster is not because they are faster than Guardians, it’s because they can provide more damage while providing good enough support that nobody should die unless they don’t know how to dodge.
When forming a dungeon group: Don’t have anyone playing support in you group yet and you already have 4 people? Guardian is probably a better choice for your 5th. Don’t have anyone playing support in your group yet and you only have 3 people? Pick up 2 Warriors. (These will work provided that the people actually know how to play. Most people running Warrior don’t know how to play the profession which is why these forum posts pop up in the first place.)
Oh you watched youtube videos? I’m sorry but anyone who resorts to watching youtube videos of other people playing the game has just admitted that they don’t know how to play their profession. And I never claimed to be godlike. I’m just saying that if I have never lost a 1v1, Warrior is in a pretty fair state.
The problem that people are having is that Warrior is harder to play than Guardian. Playing a bunker Guardian turns the game into easy-mode. Just sit still during fights and activate your abilities at the right time. Nevermind how inefficient it is. Warrior requires you to move around…most of the time. The payoff is a more balanced spec.
Guardian is the easiest profession to play in this game by far and that’s why you see more and more people gravitating towards it when they become frustrated with their own profession. Most of these people were Warriors who picked the profession because they expected it to be easy. But Warrior isn’t easy to play in this game (at least not as easy as Guardian) so they complain on the forums and then switch to the easier profession. Keep in mind, easier does not equal better.

Addressing the Warrior's "Hundred Blades" immobility issue: a proposal
in Warrior
Posted by: Argis.7049
Has everyone forgotten about the Warrior trait that turns cripples into immobilizes? I know a 1 second immoblize doesn’t sound like much but look at it this way: 1. Hit enemy with axe 3 immobilzing them 2. They don’t notice it’s only 1 second duration so they pop their stun-breaker and probably dodge roll 3. Switch to greatsword and hit them with GS 4 4. They will either bust out of it again, dodge roll desperately, or pop their defensive cooldowns. Either way they are probably out of escapes unless they are very defensive. 5. Use your knockdown/stun/immobilize of choice with a utility skill followed by Hundred Blades on what is probably a stationary defenseless target. I am just theorycrafting this right now, I would love to hear some feedback from anyone who tries it out.

You guys have to realize that this build is designed mainly with dungeon runs in mind, or so it seems, not PvP.

Honestly speaking My guild prefer me to roll a guardian then a warrior when I do dungeons or GvG/WvWvW, That alone speaks a lot how useless warriors are.
So we are just supposed to assume your guild knows what they’re talking about? You must hold your guild in very high regard. Forgive me if I don’t. Anyways, maybe a Guardian suits their specific needs more. Maybe you are simply better at Guardian than you are at Warrior. Maybe your guild has no idea what they’re missing out on. Your situation doesn’t really tell us anything. Too many variables. Too many unknowns.
Well My master class is a warrior(fully geared) and my sub is guardian(still running around with lvl 70++ gear), and trust me, guardians do a better job then warriors as melee

It sounds like you just prefer Guardian to Warrior. Nothing wrong with that. Some professions aren’t meant for everybody and some professions just click with you. I run a healing shouts build on my warrior with the warhorn for AoE CC breakers, AoE swiftness, AoE vigor, AoE weakness, AoE healing, AoE condition removal, AoE Fury, AoE Might…..overall, I might not heal as well as the Guardian, but I provide better offensive buffs while doing more damage and having more health than a fully healing specced Guardian. I’ve run exp mode dungeons with 5 warriors before and they were the fastest, easiest dungeons I’ve ever run. 2 Healing shout warriors + 1 longbow banner combo field warrior + 1 greatsword damage warrior + 1 axe damage warrior = Easy Mode. The problem with a fully healing specced Guardian is….do you really need that much party support? Yea you’re making the game easier but you’ll go through the dungeon much slower.

Order of Entropy is a small growing guild on the Maguuma server that just hit 33 members and is still looking to grow without becoming too large. We do a lot of WvW, dungeons, some general PvE, and a little bit of SPvP every now and then. We are very laid back and just try to have fun and help eachother out. We use TeamSpeak 3 for communication in WvW, dungeons, and general socializing but it’s not required. If you are interested please pm me or contact me in-game.
Thank you,

The main problem I have with the ability is that it roots yourself. I often will immobilize the enemy and start hitting them with flurry only to have them use condition removal, escape from the immobilze, and im stuck there swinging at air while they hit me from range. I still like the ability but the self-root bugs me.

Not only does it need better traits, it needs the 1200 trait completely removed and made automatic.
Agreed, the standard range of the longbow is a joke.
PvP/WvW videos – http://www.youtube.com/user/noscopeentertainment/videos
I will agree that longbow needs a little love. I’ve only ever seen it used in WvW by warriors who’ve retreated into a fort to defend it and once by a warrior in an explorable mode dungeon to set up combo fields in a 5 warrior group.

what traits would you use to make signet of rage be up all the time?
Trait
Signet Mastery (Discipline – 10 pts)Misc
Anything that grants +% Boon Duration. The most common ways are through the Tactics trait line and Rune set piece bonuses. Since you’re looking at a 48 second recast after the Signet Mastery trait, you would need +60% Boon Duration to permanently chain this buff up. Otherwise you could use a skill like For Great Justice to stack +Fury up permanently (and either let the +Swiftness drop off for short period of time or give AoE Swiftness through holding a Banner object).
Running sword/warhorn with signet of rage = probably the fastest setup in the game. Permanent swiftness with a huge sword lunge on a 7 second cooldown. Great for WvW and general PvE.
Maintaining permanent swiftness, fury, and might made easy: Signet of Rage, Warhorn, “For Great Justice!”

In my opinion, they should decrease the cost for travelling to and in low level zones and make it so that it costs more as the zones become higher level. You shouldn’t be able to spend a tiny bit of gold and bypass a difficult section of the map but you shouldn’t be punished for travelling back to low level areas to help out new players.

Hello, I am the guild leader for Order of Entropy. We started out as a small group of real life friends who played Guild Wars 1 but we have gained some new members since Guild Wars 2 released. We are looking to expand but we do not want to become too large. We currently have 10 members and are located on the Maguuma home server. We are fairly casual and generally just play to have fun. We do anything from PvE to WvW to SPvP. If you are interested in joining a small, friendly guild of people who just like to have fun and help eachother out, send me a message in-game or a mail if I’m not online at the time.
