I have no idea how you stayed in the game for so long without being in a guild…
MMO’s are designed to keep people engaged upto a certain degree which is where the social obligation comes in with Guilds. In guilds with people who eventually become friends keep players in the game…so if you wish to keep playing and not notice this boredom recruit some friends into your guild. This social obligation will keep you busy and let you forget how you have finished all content in the game while you organize events and manage the guild.
I miss grit. Though Guild Wars 2 is a fun game…there’s nothing gritty about it. Cities are too clean. Characters are too clean cut. No one curses. No one looks awful. I know it sounds weird, but it’s more immersive for me to be in a game that is darker and feels real. See some garbage on the streets. See some ugly people, on ocassion. Guild Wars 2 is a bit too sanitized for my taste.
the races are all noble and proud…need a race that is pure evil. Cities are too clean but Orr (once a great city) is in ruins. Guild battle options I should add should be like the thing that is being worked on right now…it is called guild wars but not gvg happening
3. Though I don’t really want a trinity system in GW2, I really wish you could go full support in a group. I love being a healer/buffer, and wish that was a ‘main role’ option here.
6. Auto-follow. Sometimes you need to go to the bathroom/check on the baby/answer the door because the cops are there and it’d be nice to be able to follow your party.

-Mounts (not flying mounts argh they sucked in every mmo i played)
-Getting married to your friends for titles like “Blah’s husband”
-Wings oh yes please! (could be implemented through achievement system, more achievements u get higher lvl wings u have)
-Dueling in open world, best thing to hone up skills and know how to use each skill differently towards each class.
-No scaling when doing lower level content (yes I said it…I miss feeling awesome in dungeons and helping newbies who were thankful I was in pty)
-Areas in the world where it was open pvp, where bosses spawned and the strongest guilds would fight over the drops (because they were actually awesome)
-NO diminishing returns or RNG…
These are great features I felt made other MMos good. However although alot of things are ruined in gw2 atm I stay because the combat system is awesome. I’m tired of constantly standing in 1 spot to attack. However there is a limit to how much I can take before the combat system becomes worthless in the eyes of the DR, absent DE that riddle maps with no one to do them, new content spread through RNG chests and legendary weapons not legendary anymore cause you can P2 have skins…
They need to make alot of money from somewhere, its not an Non-profit organization. However although it does not add any real advantage to players who do get really really really lucky or pay an arm and a leg for these skins the game has turned into a slight different version of P2W…what I mean is it has turned into pay 2 have the latest cool gear skins.
It would have been cool if you could get the new content through farming that is designed to take longer then an hour. I mean The tentacle back piece is great but everyone has them, would have been great if it took some real effort.
PS: we need a legendary gear set, everyone has weapons in month or two, putting in a whole set would mean people take about 6-9 months to get a set and will keep people in the game the further they get…

People probably doing events that are new. The fact that DE have not been worth it has been obvious for about ever since they introduced DR with a vengence into the game.

Now the predator got a new fiery look with footprints that don’t even last 1 second. They are hardly noticeable.
I would be happy with something like this. I am like 2 steps away from getting the dreamer…It already looks awesome. I was gonna get Kudzu for the particle effects but I use shortbow alot more as a ranger and Giant Unicorns are awesome…
Nothing big has to be used for particle effects just something to please us so when we walk we know that we made the world a colorful place.
Theives are horrible in WvW zergs and PvE so nothing to complain about. If people complain about Spvp they can simply make a theif and jump into Spvp to see how people counter theives. Experience is key…Good luck and see you guys with my lvl 2 theif in Spvp lol
Good job flare you are the first person I have seen who has begged for gold in this game In the mean time I make about 20g a day just from farming so maybe farm for 5 days without wasting your gold on junk or wasting time on useless things like wvw 24/7 If you ran MWF 10 times a day at least you would have gotten a jetpack or mini and sold it for over 100g

Guardian is easy and fun, played one for a bit they can live through the worst conditions.

Lets apply the same concept to guardians and their ability to take down 2 vs 1 and tank 4 people for ages? Does that need a nerf because guardians can take on more then 1? Rangers survivability is already kittenty please dont complain about the one thing that they have left.
Please buff ranger damage and pets need more health also our spirits are useless they die faster then they can spawn even our elite skill spirits are trash.
Best way your gonna get the guide you are looking for is from searching on google. However gw2 is constantly changing and best thing you should do atm is get to learn your character, keep up with your story line and complete maps by visiting vistas/PoI/completing heart quests and to mix it up you can check on map chat for events or bosses that are on the map that have people doing them.
There are heaps of guides on class builds already so you are covered in that area. Just play as you go. Crafting should be left to lvl 80 or second toon. Also join an active guild that will help you with your questions. Gl and hf
I think the lions arch we see seems to only be the merchants and the shops. Seems like just the Market side of LA but in the living story it makes it seem as LA has thousands of people living in it.

Only did TA exp for the 500 tokens I needed for the gift of thorns but every single time I came to this point in the dungeon I would be the main target for the Wurm circles. If I am in range of their attacks I will be surounded by circles and they will not stop attacking me until I die. The annoying thing is there is like 4 other people randomize it abit. I took SS of when I was out of the range of the wurms and they would just wait staring at everyone else and as soon as I get in range they attack.
Is there a trick to this because it just seems racist to rangers.

I’ve already had such a pain trying to get completion on these maps while being chased and pulled back by champion risen now that I want to start on my legendary I need a Karma Merchant in Balthazar and to get it I need to like a web of 19 DE so it can become uncontested. I have managed to do like 8 but some of them are so hard to get past because they are group events.
Need to remove/nerf the events. It must have been a good idea before DE were worthless to plague Orr with them but no one is around so need a change of strategy.
PS: if any server has the Balthazar area uncontested plz let me know.
Everything in Orr is screwed no one does DE anymore so its dead land. Remove the bazillion DE in the maps Straits, Malchor and Cursed. They are empty and the people who need things like skill points and map completion die 50 times. The events were designed for multiple people but with DE being worthless no one wants them. REMOVE THEM.

Doing world completion on alts and its so annoying in cursed shore when some skill points are guarded by Champion mobs with no one else on the map.

Maybe GW1 appeals to you more as it doesnt change much at all. The premise of GW2 is that it is constantly evolving, a Living World, and thus you are offered Living Stories that are somewhat transient.
I played GW1 for about 7000 hours and it is true, it’s different than GW2. I enjoy both of them. There are a few things I miss from GW1, but there are many things I would miss from GW2 should I go back. They are kind of like children, very different, but both quite lovable.
The great thing is, just like with GW1, you can leave for awhile and always come back and pick up where you left off. Happy adventuring in Tyria, no matter when. =)
Think this is the answer you are looking for. Taking a monthly break from gw2 is like going into hibernation for a month and waking up to find that everything has changed. Gw2 caters to casual players unlike any other MMO I have seen but casual does not really mean monthly more like few times a week, an hour a day, few hours a week.
Ive got full zerker gear + trinkets, using rapid fire (longbow) I can hit about 12k with crits obv. Using auto attack (shortbow) i can hit 900-1200 crits. I think it is good when our pets dont die as soon as they jump into the battle (2% of the time). But warriors 100 blades hit more then our rapid fire which is reasonable as they need to be stationary and we get to move around and keep distance. Just wished pets + Spirits would survive longer. Need more toughness.

I don’t understand how this is still confusing people. He specifically says, it only affects loot from creature kills. His exact words are “They only work on creature kills, chests however have a better table then normal kills.” Which means, chests are different and are NOT affected by MF gear. Chests aren’t dropped from creature kills, they are a result of completing an objective, which just so happens to be killing a boss in most cases.
I dont understand why people are taking this assumption as the word of god lol. There is nothing that says chests dont get affected by MF. “chests however have a ‘better’ table then normal kills” does not mean chests are rubish dont use MF it means MF affects it less then it would on normal mobs. Test it out yourself mates. Need a GM come in and say “MF does not work on chests”. I dont know why I’m trying to convince others lol. Its working for me if you trust the assumption that chests + MF = zilch then go ahead but 3rd run of MWF and got my second exotic insig. Gl and HF

This is outrageous me and one of my friends accidently got separated for our other friends that play this game and now it is around $50 for us to get back with our friends. This has convinced me to stop play Guild Wars 2 but I would gladly come back if they changed the price.
lol this made me laugh…how do accidentally get seperated from your friends? Were you walking and your friends took a wrong turn? I mean Its a massive server we are talking about not a bushwalk. The only reason you would be split apart from your friends is if you hopped servers for some reason while your friends did not. That is your fault, I’m happy you left.

I’ve been searching for a statement from a GM across the forum that says anything about MF+Chests but this is the only one and he does not say chests are not affected by MF, just that switching to MF gear b4 opening a chest is meaningless. Had another run and went thru a DE in Cursed shore.
In the DE in cursed shore I equiped my zerker gear while killing and then changed to MF gear to pick up drops…blue gear + few silver. Next I killed using MF gear and picked up drops…greens, 1 rare and more silver.
In the MWF dungeon taking into account that this is my 12th run today, I ran using MF gear through the entire dungeon…which was a hastle cause I felt so weak lol but I got a few rare gear drops and nearly all other green drops (expected with full MF gear+foods). The boss I attacked with MF and killed using MF gear. The drop was the usual junk but with an exotic insignia. I know this is no proof that MF works but I made 3g out of that one run where as I was making about 1.5g using zerker gear.
A boss is a creature right? Its a mob? We kill it. He said that Chest loot gets calculated after boss is killed on the spot which is what happens if you kill an ordinary creature. So even if you swap to your MF gear b4 you pick up the loot from the creature the loot wont change. Therefore he says they didnt want people swaping gear b4 chest so they made it that loot is calculated b4 chest is opened when boss is killed.
A chest is pretty much loot dropped by a boss after its death. Killing a boss with MF should affect its drop just like how killing a ordinary mob with MF affects its drop too. Is there any other GM’s who have clarified this or is this statement the only one that GW2 community has been basing the useful/less-ness of MF gear?
They only work on creature kills, chests however have a better table then normal kills. We wanted to avoid the game play of killing a boss and then having to equip your whole Magic Find set before opening the chest.
Also magic find is calculated from when the creature is killed so it’s also not viable to use your normal gear set kill a boss then switch to magic find.
I bought MF gear to farm mobs in Cursed and tried it on the new dungeon. I did see the difference. I dont know why people keep repeating “He said it does not work on chests”, because he does not say that. The pure assumption seems wrong because the thing I understood in the message was that If you kill a boss (who drops chest) without MF and then attempt to equip MF and open chest…it does not work. So I go on to assume that the only way MF gear will count toward a boss chest is if the boss is killed with the MF gear equiped where the loot is calculated with consideration of MF after boss is killed.
I will continue to test this theory…

Stealth was already nerfed. This was due to an unbalanced “perma-stealth” Thief troll build. Now with that said, let’s breakdown your complaints one by one:

This is done before a Thief or Mes goes into stealth. If the target is squishy, you attack. If it’s a Guardian, you run away. Simple.• Cooldown reduction

I love how you formed most of your come backs on….thats what it was meant for lol. Guns are meant to shoot things but it doesnt mean it was a good thing it was invented. I play theif in spvp because its so easy and want to lvl fast and get easy kills. It took me about 10 mins to watch youtube vid on perma stealth and use the natural zerker dmg to take down mesmers, rangers, necros and even wars b4 they even knew i was there. Even though it is nerfed i can drop ppl in pvp and use finisher b4 the enemy around me can target me…and then stealth to get away.
Unfortunately it gets boring which is why its still lvl 4.i love my ranger in pve and wvw because there is so much variety and its so easy to drop thieves in a zerg who cant dodge aoes with their 13k hp. I do feel bad for the players who play thieves as their mains because they suck so bad in dungeons and are the least wanted for runs. One hit by a boss and…gotta revive the 13k thief lol.
Alot of mixed views here. I have felt that the dungeon was very fun just like all the others . However like all the other dungeons after alot of runs it becomes stale. That is why unlikemost ppl i love how they made it temporary. This way you play it and right b4 it becomes boring for most ppl it is taken off the shelves, which leaves the mwf dungeon with a really good rep.
In terms of difficulty, i felt that mwf is perfectly balanced. In a run with all lvl 80s we failedin the last boss because ppl were too used to wow style on the spot nuking and i was left to solo the 2 bosses from 90% to 40%. However in a run with a 3 ppl who never attempted the dungeon but knew how to use their characters, we finished without wiping once.
Trash mobs…only became trash mobs after my 7 or 8th run which is reasonable as the dungeon was meant to be run one or two times for the story…all in all great work, thats my 2 cents
Just take the time to learn the path and how to avoid dying. Ppl who have geared characters said once they knew the mechanics, it was a breeze. Find a good team and good luck.

I played WoW clones and WoW itself before gw2, differnce was I was bored kittenless of MMOs with the same stuff over and over. So when I was introduced to gw2 I was addicted like a kitten to crack…
Exactly. Add the option to do which ones you want, but don;t give extra points for each after that. I highly doubt anyone at Anet will even read this, but I really wish they would make the change quick.

my POV exactly lol achievements are an addiction. Just let it go who cares if your rank drops lol play the game the way you want to.

Lvling is seriously not a grind but end game material like spvp and dungeon skins/wvw achievements things like that need to be time consuming to keep ppl playing. Think about it. If it was so easy and you were able to get everything a week after new patch was released would you stay for the duration of the patch?
Also although it might seem like its a huge grind for you alot of ppl get through everything quickly. For daily players it still isnt enough. Anet doesnt say if you dont play what we offer you will miss out on getting an item which will disadvantage you huge. You can play pve or pvp or just stand in lions arch doing nothing. I think a little grind is good because at end game no grind means end game. I hope I explained myself.
I guess I made a good decision when I made a ranger couple days ago. I could already tell the strength difference between it and my strugling mesmer. Now zepher has extra sec and heals for 50% more. Shark got a 10000hp increase as did other pets. Alot of skill cds too. Thank You Anet for the buffs
