Found out a while ago that its better to keep expectations low in order to not be disappointed.

Love this skill. I go in to the ghost starting. (Usually a noob) Hit him a few times with hammer for points. Then die. Then I find a villager and spam Mad king says to point farm. kill him off and next one. I get like 400-500 points a game like that Poor villagers.

Thx for the reply Mark but can we get a bit more information? On the release page for the Bloody Prince there really is not much about wether we get anything else for halloween. I would really be disappointed if we did not get more for halloween. I think I speak for alot of people when I say, we are hoping there is a dungeon where we get to fight the prince/king again.

WvW I don’t really count as LS due to it having…well, no story.

Wow guys this was so like 5 weeks ago. Get over it. I havent done Teq ever since I did all the achievements with that TTS guild. Then I left :p Sorry but I did use you for a couple hours.

So for me. Teq is over. I do not think I will do it again. Wont even try it because I’m already doing alot of things in the game with the new LS + dung + spvp + wvw + missions + temples. I dont have time to wait around for a boss. I used to do the old version because a group of 20-30 could do it. I would join in when a guildie would say its up. Its what I do for other World bosses but after the achievements I wont go back to teq. Its just not worth my time.

Piece of advice, dont bother. Unless its the last thing that you want to do and your going to die if you dont do it. In that case do what I do. Join a TTS guild, they dont require rep or anything. Just rep em at reset and then bail and if ur like me, leave after getting the achievements. No hard feelings. If they do the same to jormag, golem, ele, kitten, etc I’ll join a guild dedicated to dragons and after I get my achievements I’ll bail. ArenaNet have way too many people in charge with different views so we get content that looks like its screwed. I hope I dont get infracted it isnt an attack of the staff ><

So the release date for Tower of Nightmares is on the 29th. The Halloween next part is on the same time too? Does that mean we get both halloween and Tower of nightmares? Or was there never the next part in the halloween/they just threw away halloween?

Try being a commander in this lag fest lol. I love WvW…when I can use my skills. But todays lag was horrible. Getting instructions to take my zerg through Bay gates but on my screen I see gate at 90% Then I randomly die and rez 3 times. I see all zerg teleport inside bay keep and a bunch of people die at once. In the mean time my zerg is like i can’t use skills…I think I dced…am I lagging? It was funny night but something definately needs to be done about this. Its not internet problems, Its server problems.

This kinda seems like a response to the recent incident that I will not mention in fear of being infracted. All I will say is it is sad that it has come to this. Where ArenaNet has to give themselves a boost in power in order to make sure they are not at fault. Anet vs The Players?

^I was trying to give my opinion on this but I’m sure somehow that can be worthy of an infraction.

You gotta have 25 stacks of vul, bleed and have most of the other conditions. If you have that then you have enough people. Next you have to get mesmers, necros, etc to rep/convert boons when they see his protection regen and something else.

His lifesteal doesnt go off that often. However combined with his heal regen he can get great amounts of health back. But if you were like the overflow we were in and you couldnt even get 10 stacks of bleed and 5 stacks of vul then no poiint. People get lazy after the other doors cause its autoattack royale and lich u need to think

For people who didnt do anything last year, we got some new stuff but nothing like they had last year. This year seems to be more grindy and stale. From the removal of the main event in labyrinth to the book or title. Its just so sad. I am really sad that this happened and unfortunately I know that nothing is going to be done about peoples frustrations….

The boss is a fun fight, but I’m not sure about letting him toss gears on the raised platforms that save you from electric floors….where you’re put when you die on electric floors….to be killed by the gears……..

Why are you on the platoform, just melee him and then drag him to the holo when the shield comes. the fight is that simple.

If he gets his 30 stack attack off a part of the floor gets electrified. If you die in the electrified floor you teleport ontop of the platform. When u get a hologram and explode it on the clockheart the electrified floor turns off. However going to rez somone on the platform or trying to pull clockheart/hologram to or from the electrified floor u need to get on that platform esp if you missed 2 30 stacks. There are alot of things that can go wrong in this.

I havent done this path since I got all the achievements on my 4th run. The dungeon is easy and mechanics are great until you get to clockheart. Cant tell you how many times we downed him to 1% and he would get stack up and the hologram +generators bad coding would just screw everything up with nothing but a few hits away.

Not duping. Theres like 5 people that have about 400k gold of combined funds and they have been raising the prices of precursors since Queens gauntlet. My friend knows them

Yes. That’s pretty much what I have been saying all the time, except it would never occur to me to refer to the people on my friends list as a “guild”. And while I would still say that a friends list lacks the most defining feature of a guild, which is the formal/hierarchical structure: It’s largely semantics. In the end, you don’t seem to disagree with my basic point that guilds are a pointless feature of MMOs, for they can’t do anything a circle of friends can’t do. So we don’t really have anything to argue over.

Looks like you have had some bad experiences in guilds or you are simply arguing for the sake of arguing. If its the latter then nothing we say can convince you. If your are a skeptic and you wish to be proven otherwise then the only thing you can do to know the value of guilds in MMO’s is by joining a guild that is helpful, fun, not just a lfg. If you can’t decide on what type of person you are, what type of guild suits you then there is no more to say. 6 guilds that have disbanded is just due to bad management or bad choice in your part.

I have been in 2 guilds. First one was lousy management, recruiting, a lfg guild. I stayed in it for 1 week. The second and current one I joined in the end of March. I took the time to pick my guild and checked the foundations of the guild. It is now october and the guild that was made in even b4 I was in it, is still strong and getting stronger. I am sorry you had to go through 6 guilds and seen all of them disband. That doesn’t mean guilds are useless. It just means you haven’t been able to stay in one long enough to experience loyalty and growth. Pick wisely

I played at launch and just came back a month ago. I only made it to lvl 30 or so when I quit. I just hit lvl 80 on my new necro. I’m not sure much has changed besides the addition of new tiers of gear and an overland raid mob. Still the same game at its core. The video linked above show the wallet change and a few little changes added. Overall if you didn’t like it before you probably won’t now. It took me letting go of the trinity and stand still combat to enjoy the game. Now I love it and won’t be going anywhere soon.

Yeah so pretty much nothing has changed but less bugs then there was at launch. Still got bugs but less. The wallet is okay and spvp and wvw has changed very little. Everything else in terms of Living story was pretty dull apart from a few. But doesnt matter cause you wont be affected by them, they were temporary. I suggest trying it getting in a guild you like or else once again u wont decide to stay very long

No. I don’t understand the purpose of guilds and why I would want to join a formal organization complete with a hierarchy to play a computer game . Guilds can’t do anything a friends list can’t do. In addition, I have full control over who’s on my friends list, but zero control over who the guild’s recruiting (unless I am the leader, of course). I’d rather have MMOs add custom chat channels, plus more elaborate social networking functions (e.g. ability to create Google+ style groups).

My statement was only covering the social aspects of guilds of course. What I basically wanted to say is that a MMO wouldn’t be much different if guilds wouldn’t be there at all. In the end, guilds are nothing but a glorified custom chat channel.

If a game deliberately adds exclusive content for guilds, it’s obvious that unguilded players cannot participate in them. But that’s an arbitrary decision on the developers’s side. Guild Wars 2’s guild missions do no not have a single aspect about them that would otherwise prevent a PUG from completing them. Since there are no really compelling reasons for the existence of hierarchical organizations within a computer game, some developers seem to feel the need to artificially create some. shrug

1) Guilds provide a way for people to become friends
2) You can’t get to know/become friends with everyone in the server
3) You can’t organize events in open world. We saw this in teq, had to get dedicated guilds for extra communication
4) After all the content in the game, people only log on to play the same content with friends. People not in guilds eventually quit faster then people in guilds due to the LS content they don’t like etc.
5) I have a list of friends from other guilds/servers I get adds all the time. I would still not join any of those randoms who I have run 1 maybe 2 dungeons with again. I dont know them…I dont have an opportunity to know them.
6) Friends list is just a dumbed version of lfg. In my guild we talk about random things all the time we cheer each other up, make jokes. I can happily say I have over 100 friends in gw2 IN my guild. HOW did I meet them?…

I was in a guild like the OP was. I wasn’t happy, wasn’t noticed. I came to forums went to LFGUild and out of the many leaders I found one that was like minded, I tried it out and have been in the guild for about 6 months.

I would not be playing still if I wasn’t in my guild. I have done all the content. I have 3 legendaries. I have 8 characters lvl 80. I have geared all of them with the skins I love. The “new content” that they bring I dislike. I do not log in to play this “new content” that ArenaNet thinks keeps people in the game. I log in to play with my friends that I met, got to know and learnt/taught in my guild.

Can I get +1 for anyone who wants something more for guilds (BETTER UI, HALLS, HOUSING, RAIDS). People don’t stay in the game for your LS they stay for their friends.

Whats up Crazy. Timezone is the only thing you wanna watch out for. Proffesion/class/race most guilds do not care. There are loads of great guilds here, pick carefully, I have been in guilds that are so large they can’t cater to the new player or guilds so small it just way too quiet. Best thing to do is look for a guild that is medium sized, welcomes new players and has people helping them.

I’m part of Knights of ARES here in Dragonbrand. We are a NA guild meaning we get upto 40-60 people consistently active from 8-9am to midnight. We are a mature guild, we have mentors who teach dungeons and help out. We have all the jazz, mumble, forums and what not but man you’ve heard of that like a million times here. What I want to bring to you is, we are a close community, we take in new players/members all the time. We dont care if your excellent at the game or if your new. Bring ur personality and we’re happy.

Whats up guys, I hear alot of people are having problems with the new dungeon. I have completed it multiple times with my guild. We have mentors/officers who teach and lead dungeons. I’ve done it 3 times. 2 times I’ve run guildies through it (Mumble helps) and once I pugged to see where people are at. (Players still dont know the mechanics and what to do)

Remember though, this dungeon path is meant to be end game, that is why it is hard. It expects you to have full exotics.

Did melee the cogs dont get you if you are in melee range. If you range they spawn 20 for a full party having 1 range is not that bad but everyone out of range is a death trap

Dulfy did not have the locations of the teeth and scales and stuffs until 2-3 hours after the patch went live. I was there and the first thing I did was hop onto dulfy to follow the guide. He had 2 up when I was doing it. I was finding the teeth with 2 other guildies. We found Sparkfly and Frostgorge by ourselves. Dulfy was updating like 5 mins after we found a teeth.

It wasn’t that hard but yeah I agree with you OP it is just lazy.

You can use the Karma to get exotic armor if you like. I think each piece costs like 75K? I am not too sure about these however, I tend to use the trading post as I find it easy to make gold.

Ascended weapons are like the latest stats and the gear for it hasn’t been released. It takes about 120g to lvl crafting to 500 so you can actually make it. Better off ignoring it for now.

My suggestions would be:

1) Join a PVE or PVX guild. Theres some great medium sized guilds out there that do not use their members for influence. I can point out http://knights-of-ares.enjin.com/ but I will be bias, its the guild I’ve been in for 7 months now.

2) Run dungeons daily. This is where your PVE guild comes in. If you see them call out for a dungeon ask them to join. ARES has a great mentor system where a whole rank of officers are dedicated to teach and lead dungeons. The dungeons you should run every day are COF (path 1 and 2) COE (Path 1) AC (Path 1 and 3) SE (Path 1). Those dungeons would take about 2-3hrs less if you have mentors and would earn you 8g 56s and whatever you get from champion loot bags. Now if you are low level you could go for the lower dungeons.

3) The famous Queensdale Champ Farm. It is the most famous way to make gold and earn reasonable Experience. I would suggest staying off this but its your choice. WARNING: May cause player to burn out from the game.

4) Explore! It is important that you have all waypoints and have the map unfogged. A lot of the parts of the game require you to have maps open. The best thing is you get pretty good exploration and even though it can get annoying if you try to 100% complete 5 maps at once, it is fun to add a little variety.

5} Gear is not too important while you level. It is already pretty cheap. You could get away with low level gear till 40 and then get lvl 40 gear, then wait till 65 then get 65 gear and lastly 80 Exotics. If you have been saving up the dungeon runs from each day. You should have enough gold to get a full set and weapons of exotic. Then you want to focus on Superior runes, sigils and finally trinkets.

6) The matter comes to picking a good guild. If you want to avoid people yelling at you, telling you your a noob and spending the least time for most reward, join a supportive community. Guilds will carry you through dungeons, help when you get stuck in a map completion and much more stuff that you will get stuck on in the game.

After seeing the trailer for October 1st update I just felt sick. Sick of the game and how we are treated like we have no clue and are mindless wallets. So the next patch is something about Scarlet (the all of a sudden villain we heard nothing about until it was convenient) attacking the Sylvari. The same old Aetherblades with the same old Story where Scarlet does something bad, we are “requested” to help and then without a dent she runs away.

Sick of these Living story patches that does not even give much credit to our characters. Sick of the living story coming inside the mail and not in the cut scene (lazy). Sick of getting content that is frustrating, boring, stale or all of the above.

Out of the last few months of content I have only enjoyed a handful of features. The achievement point system that gave credit to achievements. The cut scene with Logan in the bar. The introduction of the bazaar, which got removed. Surprisingly all of the balance fixes (least they are sort of splitting pve and pvp).

Now most people are going to say. “Stahp QQ” “L2P” but as I have said b4 I refuse to let a game that I love sink to the ground. I honestly want to know the amount of people that have left the game, how long they stay b4 they leave and so on.

It seems to me that ArenaNet has a set itenerary for the next 200 years and even though they say they take opinions, they refuse to go back and instead just say ehh didnt work next content.

TL-DR: I love Anet, stop giving us stale/frustrating and more importantly content that has been in game over and over.

at launch Pifil :p I do not like the way gw2 is going so I might take a while off, idk only reason I stay is because of Living story and my guild. Living story is going to shikittents and guilds are not getting anything patch after patch so I’ll probably go play my old MMO, take some time off from the LS rush.

I doubt they will remove it.

Is there any NA servers that are trying to do it now? I want to get in on that.

LMAO :p I feel one with Tyria and all its servers! I love the feeling of being useless over and over because I fail something. I love the feeling of being yelled at by commanders over and over. I love the fact that I’m on a server and I have only been able to get on my main map once in an off-peak time. I love this content so much

Something needs to be done. But is it going to be done? OoooRRR is Anet just going to delete this thread and in the next patch release another zerg PvE content bringing up the same problems.

I think they are happy with what they have put out. They have even congratulated the few hundred of their customers on Tier 1 servers who have beaten Tequatl. I do not know if they plan on changing anything because they just delete these threads and reply on the “Server Just beat Tequatle instead”.
