(Please do not merge this topic. It’s relevance extends beyond just Zodiac Armor and into the realm of Armor Sets and Weapon Skin Sets in general.)
For all the people suggesting being able to color change the Blue Hue area of Zodiac armor, I have one question for you:
Have you even SEEN the Zodiac Weapon set?
Being able to dye the blue portion of the Zodiac Armor is preposterous. It will NO LONGER BE Zodiac Armor if you are able to do that. I would much rather have the armor entirely removed from the game. Than for them to make the mistake of allowing people to dye the blue areas.
Why can’t people leave things the way they are and enjoy them for what they are.
We have Zodiac Armor and Zodiac Weapons.
Does anyone even want them to make Wintersday armor? Halloween armor? Fused armor? Dreamthistle armor? Lovestruck armor? Dragon’s Jade armor? Sclerite armor?
Or are you so concerned over the Blue hue of a single armor set, that you would sour the entire design team on even wanting to make more armor sets to match our weapon skins?
(edited by Ashadow.6874)
PLEASE DON’T CHANGE OR TAKE THIS OUT OF THE GAME.
Ahh I love this armorrr
D
I went on a screenie rampageee <3
(edited by Ashadow.6874)
I agree. Release a SECOND SET (keep the first set in the gem store) without the Blue for those who want it.
But leave the FIRST SET in the gem store for those of us who really like it.
They are really well done, please do not change them. Release a second set if you need to.
Please leave the Zodiac Armor the way it is. I love the blue effect to it. (And will likely buy 6-8 sets for my various characters. Provided they DO NOT change it, and leave it how it is now.) It matches with the Zodiac themed weapons, and it will not if it is changed. Not to mention a re-skin would likely take away the glow.
I will however hold off on purchasing gems. I’m not going to waste $ just to have my gems refunded to me if they change the armor.
I will likely be buying 6 sets of this. (Perhaps even 8 – one for each class.)
Do not change this for the people who do not like it. This is NOT like the Flame Armor sets (using previous armor.) It is entirely unique armor with a blue particular effect like the Zodiac weapons.
I am purposefully going to wait now and make sure this is not changed BEFORE I purchase my gems. I will not purchase gems, just to lose the armor set and have it refunded just because some people do not like it.
Until there is clear news stating one way or the other, I will not be purchasing gems. (And I likely otherwise would have bought a large amount of gems for this release. 6-8 sets of Zodiac alone would be 4800-6400 gems, bought with $ and not gold.)
Please leave the Zodiac armor set alone! As it is now.
Do not rob us of this set of Zodiac armor.

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Ashadow.6874
Too bad dude, LA is toast.
Long live Lion’s Arch!
Lion’s Arch is dead!
Long live the NEW Lion’s Arch ( – insert new city name here – ) !!!
Not sure what your point is, looks pretty balanced to me. Ele’s and Engie’s get less equipped sigils than other classes but can proc them more often.
If your point is that every class should have the exact same stuff, then I’m not even going to go into that.Besides, sigils are getting rebalanced anyway.
My main points, which are not coming across as well as I would have liked it to. Is this:
-
Point #1:
War/Guard/Mes/Thief/Necro/Ranger will be able to have 4 sigils in use at once in combat. This may not seem like such a big deal but it means the following:
Weapon swap #1: Fire/Air (damage sigils)
Weapon swap #2: Water/Blood (healing sigils) (or Leeching, or Endurance)
What this means is that using combinations of sigils, all the classes EXCEPT Engineer and Elementalist will be able to use two different sets of sigils in combat.
An Elementalist or Engineer cannot do this without first LEAVING combat and then getting at a distance to weapon swap a new set, and then trying to get back into combat.
Those 6 classes could effectively use the second weapon set for healing, and their main weapon set for damaging.
Using it they effectively can gain both a:
Damage set of weapons
Healing set of weapons
All while in combat and never leaving it.
-
Point (example) #2
Using Sigils of Energy on one weapon swap – 6 of the 8 classes – could be running Superior Sigil of Energy (or Hydromancy for chill, Doom for poison, Leeching for lifesteal, Geomancy for bleeds and Battle for might stacks and Intelligence for 100% crit for the next attack) on an offhand.
All of these without leaving combat. All of these without sacrificing any their main sigils.
They gain the ability to use additional conditions and apply them without leaving combat to swap weapons. While still maintaining their Stacking, or Fire, or Air sigils in combat.
The last two classes cannot do this and are forced into choosing which 2 sigils they want to use in combat. While the rest of the classes get double the effective sigil usage.
-
Personally my Thief/Warrior/Mesmer would instantly be using:
Set 1#: Sigil of Fire/Sigil of Air
Set 2#: Sigil of Blood/Sigil of Leeching (or Doom, or Energy, or Hydromancy)
Swap in set one and crit until too low, swap to set #2 while in combat and start proc’cing up the heals with Blood until full (and Leech’s first hit) and then swap back to Set #1 and dropping Fire/Air on people with crits.
And I am sure others have already started planning to do this.
So why are Elementalists and Engineers going to be left out in the cold?
(edited by Ashadow.6874)
I think the biggest change is that 2h weapons are going to be able to use two sigil’s
This eliminates the issue for many weapons you are discussing. This eliminates half of your fears.I personally dont think that anet is overlooking this and both classes could and should get an nice buff on their skills imo
Yes, 2 handed wouldn’t be an issue as they are going to change that.
I really hope they are not overlooking it, but in case they are. Hopefully they see this and realize they cannot just leave out two of the classes.
This refers to each sigil having a unique CD and being able to proc at the same time without their cool-downs interfering with each other in the upcoming ?April? patch.
-
I have a VERY interesting point to raise.
With upcoming changes to On Crit and On Swap sigils, each having their own cool-downs. What happens to the two classes who are only allowed 1 weapon set, instead of 2 weapon sets like every other class in the game?
Warrior -> weapon swap -> 4 sigils
Guardian -> weapon swap -> 4 sigils
Thief -> weapon swap -> 4 sigils
Ranger -> weapon swap -> 4 sigils
Necromancer -> weapon swap -> 4 sigils
Mesmer -> weapon swap -> 4 sigils
Elementalist -> no weapon swap -> 2 sigils
Engineer -> no weapon swap -> 2 sigils
Does every other class get to proc 4 sigils (weapon swap) – while the Elementalist and Engineer are only allowed to proc 2 sigils (no weapon swap).
-
Is this going to be limited? Or is it fair that 6 of the 8 classes get to do significantly more damage in both WvW and PvE due to being allowed to swap weapon sets?
Have the ramifications to this even been thought out yet? Can something be done about this BEFORE it becomes a huge problem?
I’m really hoping they thought this through, or else it will be a huge problem.
-
(Imagine double swapping weapon sets to proc 4 on swap sigils, or swapping after a crit to proc 4 on crit sigils at once. The problem with this is that ELEMENTALISTS and ENGINEERS do NOT have a second weapon set to do this. Unlike all other classes in the game.)

With the following becoming Account Bound due to TIME among other things required to gate it:
Fractals of the Mist
Wuv V Wuv Experience
Currency
Ascended Crafting (could you have imagined if they had made this Soulbound?)
Legendary weapons require:
50 x (fifty, 50) the cost of Ascended Weapons
Map completion of all maps (including WvW)
Dungeons running
1,000,000+ Karma
Mystic Toilet (RNG) Mystic Clovers
250x of all T6 mats
Countless Ectos
Why aren’t these Account Bound already? A SINGLE Legendary is the equivalent of building 50 Ascended weapons for your account. 50 of them.
And yet we are forced to only use them on a single character?
Why?
Anyone could build 10 Ascended weapons of the same type (sword for example) for 400g. But the cost of a Legendary is exponentially higher.
Why are Legendary weapons still not account bound?
They are pushing systems the swore they would NEVER make account bound. So why are Legendary weapons being skipped over?
(edited by Ashadow.6874)
I’m done with ele. I can’t deal with the beatings anymore. Wish there was a way for me to refund my incinerator.
Step 1: Transmute Incinerator onto a level 80 White Dagger.
Step 2: Move new white account bound Incinerator onto your new Thief.
Step 3: Use transmutation splitter on white accound bound Incinerator and get back your Legendary level 80 Incinerator
Step 4: Go kill Eles with your new Thief and his shiny Incinerator.
Step 5: ???
Step 6: Profit —- and enjoy people hating you for 1 shotting them to the face.
Side note (extra step): Prepare yourself for all the players calling you OP for 1 shotting them as a Thief using stealth. Don’t forget to smile at their corpses.
How do I keep interested? By doing the following:
Following each new 2 Week Update, I:
1. Log in first two days, finish all the achievements
2. Buy up all the limited time stuff I can find
3. Sell stuff I bought 6 months ago
4. Go play a different game for the next 12 days until a new 2 Week Update starts
5. ???
6. Profit
That’s how I keep interested in GW2. I play as little as possible, so that the tiny amount of interesting stuff they add stays interesting to me.
BP gets stomped twice when it matters.
Now it’s chest thumping when no one cares, because there are no rewards and no glory to be gained.
Have fun winning nothing this week BP. Please feel free to win. (We had enough of your tears when you were crying yourselves to sleep during League. So our bottles are full, but we’ll see you next League, and pound you into the dirt where you belong.)
P.S. I think most of us just feel sorry for you at this point.
The following weren’t account bound before but now are because it was smarter.
Account Bound:
Fractals of the Mist Levels
Wuv V Wuv Experience
Karma
Gold
Infinite Gathering Tools
(All of which were said to be soul bound and would remain soulbound forever.)
Why can’t we have dyes become Account Bound now? Do you have any idea how much a full set of dyes costs right now?
Anet would make a fortune, from people realizing they could get all the dyes on their characters by only buying them once. (Instead of henpecking and trying to decide if it is worth it.)
I probably would have bought all the F&F dyes from the gem store, and both of the other packs that have been introduced since then. (Even if it was a gamble). If they had been account bound.
A way to give Ranger pets more sustainability, but not have to program to AI to try to dodge on its own.
Why not allow a Ranger’s pet to dodge an attack when the Ranger does. Obviously a Ranger’s pet would follow his commands, so when the Ranger dodges, it’s only fair that his pet also dodge the attack.
HUGE Bonus:
Smart Ranger’s won’t let their pets just take full damage from an attack while they have stamina. (Thereby INNATELY buffing the survive-ability of a pet who belongs to a good Ranger.)
You buff the survive-ability of pets, without dumping more HP on them and tie it to making Ranger’s more skilled at using dodges, instead of just letting their pets soak up huge attacks.
Ranger’s have heals that HEAL them and their pet as one. (Heal as One) Do more damage as one. (Rampage as One)
Why can’t they dodge as one? Why can’t a Ranger command his pet to try to avoid damage when he avoids it?

Can we please slow down to a new schedule where you give your teams twice as much time to push out updates, and only do one major patch per month?
Seriously, at first it was fun, having multiple updates a month. Now it feels like all the content is being rushed and we’re receiving buggy, half done updates that should have taken more time to develop.
Can we please change to a longer development schedule? You can always come up with more filler content if you still want to do bi-weekly releases. Just create 12 repeating conents, 1 for each month and push those out with minimal changes each year.
That way the first publish for each month will actually be amazing! (And as bug free as possible.)
Please.

Removing exclusive T3 Cultural Armor. (And choosing only to screw over Human Light users and no one else. My Ele, Mesmer and Necromancer thank you. Thanks.)
Forcing new players to play end fractals much harder than Jade Maw. (Have had to end 7 runs before completion because of the new bosses, as opposed to Maw which it was possibly to help bad players finish.)
Scarlet. (I really liked Scarlet, now I’m starting to question what I liked about her.)
New Infused Rings have an empty slots.
New Agony Resist infusions are TRADE POST-ABLE. Thanks Anet.
Too many bugs to describe, ever.
Human Females now run like MEN. Thanks. If I wanted a Male Human character, I’d have MADE one myself.
Almost forgot. Thaumanova Reactor. How much time was spent on this? Neat mechanics, but a single tiny room?
In fact one of the few pluses for this entire update:
Thaumanova Boss Fight. That was amazing, most else, eh. I’ll wait for next update before logging in much.

“Your personal fractal difficulty and reward level is being made account-wide! Starting with the Fractured release, you can attempt high level fractals on a new character without needing to level up all over again.”
Soooo… what happened to this? My engi who was 43, is now 30. But none of the other toons on my account can do level 30 FotMs.
When will this be fixed?
Look at how the people there are responding to this:
http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/loadNews/29245
They are either laughing at how stupid it is, or are offended by it. Thanks GW2 for becomming that one kid who pulls their pants down in public for a laugh. Not realizing everyone is laughing AT him and not with him.
You know, had I seen this ad before already having come to GW2. I probably would not have come to GW2.
That ad is painfully offensive.
It is like satirically dressing the Statue of Liberty up as a woman holding out a piece of chicken, and then giving away free chicken on Liberty Island. Except most business would not be stupid enough to try to do so. (Because its one of those things most people are smart enough not to do.)
If this were in a novel, I could understand it, or if it were some kids art project, that I could understand. But to advertise coming to play a game that claims to have two week updates (most of which are terrible right now.)
This ad is pretty offensive. (Add this to the list of one more reason to stop playing this game.)
Not only that, but you offer people a free chance at a free copy of GW2 if they will publically humiliate themselves, by swearing an OATH to GW2? An OATH whether real or as a joke, is still an oath? Really?
…I don’t know whether GW2 is a troll game anymore, or it has seriously become as insane as Scarlet.
Thanks Scarlet.

Yeah I left the cap at +10 AR in my post, because I have no idea how high it will eventually go, and no cap has been released. So leaving the example as +10 AR felt like it would show people that the slot is better than the original +5 AR cap we got for being (Infused) before.
Do you know anything about infusing rings and backpacks after the patch ?
As far as I currently know. The infusion process will remain the same.
But instead of gaining a +5 AR built into (Infused) rings. You will instead be gaining an (Agony Resist slot) will functions differently than current infused slots. You will only be able to socket AR into them, and not Defensive/Offensive/Versatile/Utility infusions.
reserved post slot
reserved post slot
Q) Will I lose any of my infusions currently on any of my Ascended items after the patch?
A) No, all infusion (defensive, offensive, or basic +5AR infusions) will remain after the patch goes live.
Q) Will I still have the same AR as I had before the patch? I had 55 AR before.
A) Yes, you will have the exact same 55 AR after the patch goes live.
Q) What is actually changing then, I’m confused… this is confusing.
A) Instead of a simple +5 AR on (Infused) Rings or Back Pieces, your +5 AR will be replaced with a brand new slot that can accept anywhere from new +1AR infusions, to more advanced and crafted +10AR infusions.
Q) So I can actually have more AR than before, but I lose nothing after the patch hits?
A) Yes, exactly, nothing bad happens. Only good things.
Q) So new (Infused) rings will have 2 slots on them like current 2 handed Ascended weapons?
A) Exactly.
Q) To be clear, you are telling me if I had a 5AR/5 Power infusion on my ring before the patch, it will still be there after the patch goes live?
A) Yes, now you understand.
Q) Also, my current +5AR infusion on my (Infused) ring will become a slot with a +5AR infusion already in it waiting for me?!
A) Yep. It’ll be waiting for you once you log on, along with all of your current AR completely undisrupted. Except now, you can upgrade that silly +5AR slot to a +6AR slot all the way up to a +10AR slot and higher!
(edited by Ashadow.6874)
Don’t be afraid! Read on and be happy! No more worries about losing any AR or infusions after the update!
Currently all Ascended items have what one would call a basic infusion slot. Basic infusion slots can be either Offensive (O) or Defensive (D) or Utility (U) which only occurs on Necklaces currently, and can be slotted with the following:
Basic Infusion ( +5 AR )
Offensive Infusion ( +5 Power / +5 AR )
Defensive Infusion ( +5 Vit / +5 AR )
Versatile Infusion (work like Defensive/Offensive Infusions, but may be placed in either the Offensive, or Defensive infusion slots, regardless of slot type)
Utility Infusion (Magic Find/Gold Find/Karma Boost)
Currently Infused Rings/Back Pieces look like this in game:
Main Stat
Secondary Stat
Secondary Stat
+5 AR <—- original +5 AR from being (Infused)
(Defensive Slot – or – Offensive Slot)
After the changes to Fractals all (Infused) rings and back pieces which looked like the above will now look like this:
Main Stat
Secondary Stat
Secondary Stat
(Agony Resist infusion slot / +5-10 AR) <—- New Slot Replacing +5 AR on (Infused) ring
(Defensive Slot – or – Offensive Slot)
(edited by Ashadow.6874)
…without dying in one shot.
Then you do not deserve to be compensated for levels you cannot do.
Anyone who can survive Jade Maw’s first/and final shot solo. (Not in a 5 man team.) Are the only ones who deserve to be compensated for having levels above 50.
Discuss.
For anyone wanting to make their Gathering Tools – ACCOUNT BOUND.
Un-equip your tools, so they are in your inventory. Then go to the Black Lion Specialist and use the new dialogue to upgrade them for free to Account Bound.
Finally! Now I can buy the new sets and put them on appropriate characters, without worrying that I’ll be forced into a certain look.
What they didn’t realize, is that most of us would gladly buy all the permanent tools (with new skins) just to have different skins from time to time.
What we do not want, is to be forced into Soul Bound items.
Please, please, make Legendary Weapons account bound next. That way I can have a reasoning for buying new Legendaries.
All of these and more data mined, some of them with previews found and yet we can’t spend money/gems on them because we can’t buy them?
Do you not want our cash? Are you saving them for next year? Did you not think we would spend our money on them? Are they just not finished entirely?
I’d more than likely buy at least five sets of swimsuits and school uniforms. Give me something to throw my money at!
I’m sure others would gladly throw their money/gems at them too. (As seen from all the previous topics.)
It would be nice, if they gave us a larger variety of armor styles. Actual pants for some armor types, and actual tops (read: not tunic-buttcape combos). But they don’t.
If they cannot do that, the least they can do is give all classes access to all the artwork for armor and allow us to choose what artwork we like best.
I cannot possibly see what the reasons for them not allowing this would be.
We would have to have more transmutation stones, and likely people would spend tons of money on gems for fine transmutation stones for level 80 gear.
Hey does anyone have problems with Twilligh Arbor path forward up. I have problem that at second doors whe i can normally choose between forward or up the window doesnt show and go straight forward.
It isn’t a bug.
They decided that the Forward Up path of Twilight Arbor, wasn’t worth fixing. So when they gave us a brand new path for TA. They deleted Forward Up.
They flat out just took it away from us.
However there is now the new Aetherblade level 80 path in TA.
This has nothing to do with the stat differences/armor value differences between sets of armor.
I am literally talking about skins only. The artwork itself.
Why can’t every class wear every armor SKIN type (aside from Cultural which actually makes sense.)
Warriors and Guardians are not aggro tanks, and there are Necros, Eles, Rangers and even Mesmers that can take a hit like a pro and keep on rolling as if it is no big deal.
Doing away with class specific armor (which could be nothing but a pro) gives:
Heavy and Light classes, get PANTS. Without SKIRTS.
Medium classes finally get something to wear other than COATS and a tiny top. (Duelist female.)
Light classes get more choices of COATS, which actually look nice on casters.
All classes get a larger pool of less “butt capes.”
Did I forget, Medium classes get more armor with NICE looking dyes, as opposed to just a thousand pieces of faded cloth.
Allow us to transmute any piece of armor onto the class type of our choice, so that we can have more artistic freedom on how our characters look. I personally would love to have a metal wearing Mesmer that looks like the brick wall it is. Same with Elementalist and Necromancer.
There is no need to abolish armor classes themselves, but simply allow the skins to be used on other classes.
What this will do is: Up the usage of transmutation stones (hey, yeah, free money for you?) And allow us to look how we want, without the silly restrictions that come from being a “Trinity Game.”
We aren’t a “Trinity Game.” Why are we forced to remain locked to their core concepts?
———
TL;DR
Allow us to transmute any piece of armor’s skin onto the armor class type of our choice, so that we can have more artistic freedom on how our characters look.
This will:
Up the usage of transmutation stones (hey, yeah, free money for you?) And allow us to look how we want, without the silly restrictions that come from being a “Trinity Game.”

She wasn’t just some “instant genius who excelled at the Asuran colleges and was suddenly a genius.” She worked hard, she persevered, she pressed for every grain of knowledge she could. Scarlet is dedicated, and dangerous.
So the sylvari firstborn are 25 years old (see http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pale_Tree).
Scarlet is not a first born and does not seem to be a second born. Where did she find the time to a) learn and b) master all the things listed by the OP, each one of which seem to take a lifetime to do?
Time travel.
But that’s a good question, I also now wonder how fast time passes in Guild Wars 2.
I hope what Matt Visual and WoodenPotatoes said should happen to her.
She stands there talking, sounding boring and cliche as usual. And suddenly a big Elder Dragon just lands on her, crushing her or impaling her on its claw, or whatever.
- and that’s how Jormag/Kralkatorrik/Bubbles/Mordremoth/Primordius is introduced.
Believe me, I’m not of the mind that she is the best thing since the invention of toast. But she also isn’t as terrible as a Villain sue.
The thread title, honestly, was more an attempt to lure people in who might not even know about the Scarlet story, either out of curiosity, or their hatred of Scarlet. It was also a jab at all the “just let Scarlet die” threads.
I’m hoping some people who end up in the thread, will take a moment to at least learn a bit more about her.
If they still hate her, I have no problem with that.
To me almost none of that is true and did not take place Ashadow, if it did not happen in game then it did not happen at all. If it has to be explained out of character outside the game, then Arena Net are not doing a good enough job with her story and events in game, something has to change.
Plus Scarlet is not a good villain, when I think of all the great villains in games and movies, she does not even come in on the top 100. She is more of a nuisance rather than anything else.
Palawa Joko, who is a bit of a joke undoubtedly is a better villain, even the Mad King has more of an awe/fear inspiring aura about him.
Thats a little like saying, “If I didnt experience it first hand, it never happened.”
Yes they dropped the ball a bit, but her story is out there, and it remains her story. If you refuse to accept it, that however is on you and not Anet. If you refuse to let yourself immerse in story, whatever format it is in, its your loss. So complain to yourself, when you cant enjoy it.
I am simply trying to spread her story, so hopefully those dont know it exists, can learn a bit more about Scarlet.
Believe it or not, I wasnt as much of a fan of her as a villain, before I read that. And I really wish it was in game, it makes her less flat of a character.
(edited by Ashadow.6874)
Why dont they acknowledge her?
1. “Beigarth tried to dissuade her, eager to pass along the full slate of his smithing knowledge to such a unique and promising student, but she left him with a wave and a breezy smile. She didn’t need to be a master smith to forge the kinds of creations she envisioned.”
2. The gladium she studied under tried to kill her, when she decided to leave.
“declared her intent to continue her studies elsewhere, the charr veteran cursed her for a feckless cub and threatened to gut her with a rusty blade. Ceara gracefully avoided Asagai’s wild swings and bid her a respectful farewell. Firearms and artillery were fun, but they were far too simple. Knowing there was only one place that could expand her knowledge as broadly and as quickly as she required, she set out for Rata Sum.”
3. She was practically considered a heretic for her theories by the Asura Collegiate, why would they even want to acknowledge her?
“It was here, under Headmaster Omadd, that Ceara first began to grapple with the Eternal Alchemy. The deeper she delved into it, the more convinced she became that the pinnacle of asuran thought was not a metamagical engine or a transcendent equation, but a key that allowed one to access the basic fabric of reality itself.
Though backed 100% by Omadd, Ceara’s thesis was not well received by the colleges or the Arcane Council. “Unsupportable conjecture,” they called it. “Unsubstantiated claims that border on academic heresy, or at very least, criminality.”"
4. The Inquest practically banished her for breaking into the archives.
Finally, why she disagreed with the Pale Tree and refused her?
She became disillusioned with what being born Sylvari meant. Being born with a dream to follow, with little to no choice in the matter, other than becoming Nightmare and being hated for it.
“She soon saw a vague, glowing shape ahead. A tree, she thought…the Pale Tree. Its great off-white trunk connected a broad network of branches and leaves to a root system below. Instead of nuts or berries beneath its leaves, there were sylvari. Thousands of her people hung from the tree’s boughs like ripe fruit ready to fall. Their bodies did not move, but their eyes shifted and rolled, eagerly taking in their surroundings.
Some dropped like autumn leaves, slowly drifting down to root level. There they stood, stretched, and then set out into the void, disappearing as they cleared the spreading canopy. Some never made it that far, staggering, falling, and withering within the shade of the great tree.
Disappointment soured Ceara’s fascination. Was this it, then? Were the lives of all sylvari so easily encapsulated? Birth, travel, experience, death, all played out under the dictates and philosophies of the godlike entity that created them?
She refused to accept that. Everything she had learned said that no system, no matter how complex, can perpetuate itself indefinitely. Those that did not evolve inevitably failed."

Ain’t nobody got time for that!
meh…, as long as she keeps staying out of my way and letting me defeat her and her minions with every encounter, I could care less if she lives, dies, goes plant herself in the ground and becomes a new pale tree, etc. Anet hasn’t really given me a reason to want to kill her yet.
Not yet, but if they keep building her up and don’t let her slide by the wayside. And they do it right. You’ll have your reason to kill her soon enough.
Scarlet is the best enemy we could possibly have at the moment, aside from maybe the Elder Dragons.
Seriously, she rejected her place in Pale Tree’s dream, decided that only SHE would decide where or what her path was. She studied for eight years in the Grove, with Sylvari engineers and realized she wanted more.
So she went to Hoelbrak to study under the Norn smiths, to learn the art of metal working so she could build her creations. She became Beigarth’s pupil and apprentice, his forge tender. Learning the art of metal working. But she realized it wasn’t enough.
So she moved on, and began to study under a gladium of the Iron Legion. She wanted to know more, and more. She learned all his secrets, everything she could. But it still wasn’t enough.
She went to Rata Sum, and she wasn’t just accepted in automatically, she wasn’t some instant genius. So they tested her, and she impressed them, time and time again. The Asuran colleges begrudingly allowed her to continue studying. Because she was dedicated. They were fascinated with her and they were intrigued by her ability to learn. She STRUGGLED at synergetics, but refused to give up. Headmaster Omadd took her under his wing, because he saw something in her. He introduced her to the eternal alchemy. The Arcane Council even rejected her thesis, though it was 100% backed by Omadd.
Afterward, she joined the Inquest to learn from them. But she was eventually thrown out by the Arcane Council, when she broke into the city’s archives with a fellow classmate who abandoned her. But still she perservered. Because she wanted to know more.
After she was thrown out, she learned alchemy from the Hyleks, so she could stay close to Rata Sum.
Headmaster Omadd, seeing her potential even tracked her down and offered her a chance to the see more of the Eternal Alchemy, to know as much as possible.
Inside Omadd’s machine, the Pale Tree reaching out to her tried to convince her not to stray from the path. But Scarlet was too interested in seeing the way things worked, the way everything was put together and the design of the world around her.
So much knowledge, she learned so much everywhere she went and from everyone she studied.
Some want Scarlet to just “up and die” and be done with. But they probably don’t even know her story.
Scarlet is here to stay for quite a while, and I’m entirely interested in seeing what she is going to do next. She saw something in Omadd’s machine no doubt, she saw what was coming and even if she isn’t a Dragon Minion, Scarlet is not going to disappoint.

I loved Scarlet already when I saw her in game, but reading the backstory of hers is simply wonderful.
She wasn’t just some “instant genius who excelled at the Asuran colleges and was suddenly a genius.” She worked hard, she persevered, she pressed for every grain of knowledge she could. Scarlet is dedicated, and dangerous.
And I really hope Anet continue to develop her and don’t let her die by the wayside. Scarlet is a Villain in the making. Right now she’s still a bit of a nuisance, but she could be a real Villain in the making. There is no telling what she saw in Omadd’s machine, or the extent of what she has learned.
Even the Pale Tree tried to convince Scarlet to stop, even the Pale Tree is worried about what she knows, and what she is doing.

No kidding, Scarlet is the best enemy we could possibly have at the moment, aside from maybe the Elder Dragons.
So she became Beigarth’s pupil and apprentice, his forge tender. Learning the art of metal working. But she realized it wasn’t enough.
So she moved on, and began to study under a gladium of the Iron Legion. She wanted to know more, and more. She learned all his secrets, everything she could. But it still wasn’t enough.

You want Scarlet to just “up and die” and be done with. But you probably don’t even know her story.

If you were ranting about BiS gear I’d wholeheartedly agree but a Christmas Mini?
That’s as vain as vanity items go, it contributes nothing to the actual gameplay so truth be told I don’t see a problem silly items being hard to get.
Going off your statement, BiS gear could be considered just as vain. Seeing as you don’t need Ascended Gear, and it hardly gives any advantage over Exotic gear.
So basically what you are saying, is as long as it doesn’t affect you. It doesn’t matter.
Welcome to the reason why EVERYONE is being screwed over by the latest changes.
Because “it doesn’t matter to me so I’m not going to bother standing up against it and let them steamroll through with crappy ideas.”
The reason why they are doing all of this, is because the community (our community, not theirs, because they aren’t even part of it, they are designing the game for themselves and “allowing us graciously” to play it) is so fragmented, that we can’t stand up as a community against atrocious issues.
There are some smaller issues, some normal issues. And then there are the issues where they are steam rolling all over the player-base just because they can. And people “don’t think it affects them.”
So I remember this game, being touted as not being a grindy game.
Is this a sign of things to come?
Should we start preparing to save 10-20,000 of every item in the game, so that we can possibly afford the new content as it comes out?
Am I going to need 15,000 snowflakes to make a new Christmas Mini.
Why are you doing this to the player base? Is it fun for you to tell us we are not going to get a grind-y game, and then smack us in the face with the biggest grind-fests possible?
Thanks for the fair game, fun, casual game. Oh wait…
Also, by the way casual players. You no longer matter.
Apologies in advance, to NSP for if Kaineng tanks like a rock and they get bumped into Silver league next week.
(Perhaps we can transfer en masse to NSP, after a certain someone gets rolled over for 7 weeks in a row, and understands just how unbalanced Silver/Bronze league can be.)
(We <3 you NSP, we really do. I know personally if it were my server and not yours, I’d be doing my best to rally my server into 15th place as well.)
I actually like Scarlet, if we can’t even get Dragons, we should be allowed to keep Scarlet forever!
Were the FREE server transfers, all that helped keep WvW more dynamic? By encouraging guilds to float randomly around different servers and bolster populations that may have been lacking?
For all the harm free transfers did, are paid transfers and T1 server stacking WORSE?
Sure, servers stacked like they always have. But at least random servers would rise to T1 and then fall from T1 based on the whims of large guilds and players.
At least T1 had a chance at changing.
Now we’ve bullied ourselves into a corner and given Guild Wars 2 the right to charge us to move to T1 and stay there, in a matchup that will never change.
I wonder if its time to BRING BACK free server transfers. To make WvW a little more dynamic. And a little less stagnant.
