These are all high scores. And they’re all “just a number.” And they can all be reset as easily as fractal level. Some people care about them, others don’t. Fractal Level is also a high score. It is very important for a very devoted section of the Guild Wars community. Why turn your backs on them? They have every right to the number that is most important to them.
You know what happened to the Donkey Kong Machine around the corner whenever it was unplugged, or worse, they took it away for the NEW Donkey Kong Machine?
Yeah, it is a GAME. If you don’t think the game aligns with your values move on. If you were 80 before, I have no doubts you will be at the top of that leader-board, crushing, in no time.
The people who were 80 before, were so due to to skill. No one has taken their skills away.
Gone in the hoopla of this upcoming change to fractals are any mention of pristine tokens.
Can we please we a response about what is being done to these? Why can’t we buy skins, amulets and non-ring accessories with pristine tokens?
Part of the fractal overhaul should involve correcting the lack of use of fractal currency.
Something should be done with Pristine relics. If you are a fractal regular, these become useless (you probably have the rings you want from drops). They are even forgotten in the Wallet!
That is precisely what I meant. Can we buy new skins with relics? Can We buy new +1 infusions, etc.
To anyone who was a frequent fractaler, Pristine relics lost their usefulness rather quickly.

It is completely contradictory:
On one hand: “I did high level fractals for the incredible challenge, even when I knew the rewards were lousy.”
On the other hand" " I demand I be rewarded for all of the “work” and “money” I spent doing something I knew quite well had lousy rewards."
I do not agree. Downgrading to 30 is not that big of a deal. I played high level fractals for the fun and the teamwork. Playing high level fractals was its own reward. I do not need special recognition to prove my self worth.
I hate the idea of a leader-board by the way. It is ridiculous.
I see a lot of “I am special snowflake! I demand I be recognized!” going on.
1. This is a game, not a job. If you “WORKED” for it, that is on you.
2. Play the game for fun. If it is no longer fun, don’t play.
3. High level fractals WAS its own reward.
4. The fun you had, you had. No one can take that away from you.
This is a great idea! If they are going to change the way back-pieces AR works, they should reimburse the ectos.
The lava pots used during the final fight of this fractal are bugged. After starting normally they will bug out, and their animation (being poured into the ground below) and the associated sounds are gone.
The super-heated effect is still working however.
Still not quite working better. Que times seem to be increasing since the new algorithm was introduced.
I am seeing a lot of this as well. I know they are going by ranking, but in reality, I would feel a lot better if they were by PvP level first, THEN by ranking. The current system allows for a lot of mismatches.
Yesterday a group of us, all in the teens, got placed against a bunch of 30+ some almost 40. Needless to say we got destroyed. Hard.
It is absolutely no fun at all when you are mismatched from the get go.
This is not about making it easier. As it stands this fractal is NOT HARD, it is just tedious and time consuming to an alarming degree.
The issue is a question of design. The length of the fractal is incongruous with the rest of the fractals. Therefore the question is being made: Why it is designed this way?

I agree 100%. This fractal is not fun. Not one bit. Every patch over the last few months have made the fractal harder and more annoying. It is incredibly time consuming compared to every other fractal. Someone should answer the questions regarding the design of this fractal.

I have been trying to complete a level in my keg brawling, but my Kegs Scored Achievement is stuck at 95/100. It does not matter if I had over the keg or throw it, it will not record the points on my achievement track. Anyone else knows why this is happening?
I just did another test, wins is also bugged. Seems all keg brawl achievements are stuck.

It had a response in another thread. They are “working on it”. I am stuck at 10 achievement points from this. I have done hundreds of runs. It is annoying to say the least.

Only got Dungeon master just before the patch on the 26th. Managed to get the first 5 dungeons done for Dungeon Hobby Explorer but it now appears to be capped out at the 5 dungeons/ 5 AP. I have done several dungeons since and nothing seems to get it to reset so I can repeat the achievement.
I know the achievement was recently changed to have a cap of 200 AP, but it seems to be capping out at 5 AP for me.
I have the same problem, My HDE Achievement is not moving regardless of which paths I do.

This all fall under the control/targetting system remake that is sorely needed. Yes please, get rid of right-mouse button selecting things! Leave it for the camera only!
Agreed! In GW1 we had different icons for the Dungeons for completed, HardMode vs Normal Mode, etc. I do not see why we don’t have that here!?!
Agreed. This is one element among many elements in the targeting systems that is in need of desperate help. Right Mouse Button hell is the other.
Nerfing the thief cause YOU do not know how to battle one, is not a solution. Learn to play your class.
This is a general problem with ascended gear. They need to make them more available, PERIOD. Whether through the fractal vendor, or through karma, or whatever, they need to be more accessible.
Laurels are terribly prohibitive. If you have many characters, the idea of gearing them all is a complete nightmare.
The change should be get rid of soulbound items in favor of account bound items. If they want to do that through the cash shop and make some money, by all means be my guest.
Contrary to some of the other points, this change would promote build experimentation and player participation.

I actually argue for the opposite of what you mention. Currently amulets, for example, can only be accessed through one part of the game. I am arguing for the availability of these items everywhere.
At the same time, I am suggesting we add some use to unwanted fractal items, excess pristine fractal relics and additional uses to the fractal relics. These changes are sorely needed.

Currently, the new ascended items are obtained outside of fractals by means other than fractal tokens. Since the ultimate goal is to have better agony resistance, these items should be implemented into the fractals game structure as well as the world abroad (for others who do not do fractals to gain access to them). However, Agony resistance is a mechanic that only exists in fractals and as such, these items should be deployed into fractals first.
1. I would like to see the amulets, earrings and any future ascended items make it the fractal vendor.
2. Unwanted rings from fractals should be traded back to the fractal vendor at a rate of 1 ring = 1 pristine token.
3. Pristine tokens should be used to purchase anything that the fractal vendor sells, including infusion items, bags, amulets, earrings, etc.
4. There should be a way of converting regular tokens to pristine tokens. Perhaps 100 to 1 or a similar ratio.

The real issue is Pristine Fractal Relics. They need to add additional ascended items to the list of things you can purchase with them.

So I boycotted the event, and am glad to see this thread still going strong today! ANet kept saying ‘wait and see’… We waited, we saw, and we’re still angry!
I took the approach of wait and see. I have now seen it, and I am so much more disappointed. These new items will become required gear. Obviously they already are. They are also incredibly expensive. “Casual gamers be kitten If you do not have time to grind in our game, then don’t play the content!” Such a complete turn around from the philosophy that made me fall in love with this game. I feel cheated, betrayed.
Yes. That was my favorite feature of GW1. It was what made that game so unique and special. ANYONE had access to the best gear with minimal effort. It was skills that separated the players. Now, in PvE, it is just another game, with just another gear treadmill. I am so disappointed.

I removed mine from my account and now I am unable to add it again.
I used the beta-authenticator upon release. After reading about the authenticator being the cause of my disconnects, I removed the authenticator.
Now that it is fixed, I would like to add it back. However, I continue to get an error stating that the code is invalid, even when it is being read correctly (security code human readable is fine).
Please advice.
I love the new Karma Jugs being account bound! Thanks for that! I am an alt-holic and I love the fact that I can use the Karma on the character of my choice. One more suggestion:
Can you make a Karma Jug vendor? Someone who takes your existing Karma and places it in a Jug.
I have not given it much thought to the implications about Karma limits, but since they are account bound, I can not seen an issue with it.
Played all three story lines related to the orders. Tybalt by far was the best story! I hope you are somewhere in Tyria selling your apples brother!
