I just hope that Barbed Precision Curse Trait and Sigil of Earth works on Deathshroud, and specially to Life Transfer
Got to 2600.
Full condition damage set (~1400)
25 corruption stacks(250)
25 might stacks (875)
Truffle risotto (100)Could get higher with a tuning crystal thrown in there too.
How did you get that 25 might stacks?
Sometimes I used battle roar to buff my condition damage for my necromancer
“CHARR NEED NO GOD!”
Presenting my Charr Necromancer, Vaahlenaz Ashkarkas!
My Charr don’t need sight, he can sense everything by their lifeforce!

I was using this since my necro was a lowbie, but after a while I’m having dilemma now in WvW judging the distance with an uneven terrain while under pressure and also if there is a way to make the cursor more visible at heavy clashes with a lot of skill graphics.
But I guess I have to train my eye to be able to pick-up where my cursor was or where did it was before I hold my right click.

Actually I did used it for sometime now yet there are things like an uneven terrain or a certain camera angle in a slope that makes it harder to accurately land your marks/aoe, sometimes landing it at the back of your targets, and during heavy clashes with a lot of graphics, sometimes I have a hard time finding my cursor lol..

As the title said, is it really worth using?
This is a great idea, rather than having the 4 boring skills, this also adds variation for different play style.
Although I did felt the effect of removing the life force in Blood Power in sPvP but I my feelings is for the Might buff on this skill, and did tried a Might sustained Condition build and it works great for and fun and really fun to use, so I guess I’ll just have to adjust my playstyle. In PvE this work wonders! Gonna try this build in WvW prolly later.
Definitely a buff, one of the best way to increase your condition damage is through might!
Kinda sad that both Charr’s and Necromance class has the lesser love from ArenaNet
The necromancer should not fear conditions as it is one of the things that defines the class, this class should be playing with minions, wells, conditions as an elementalist with different elements.
So one thing to also add up is might, as conditions were thrown to the necromancer, those will be some kind of food or energy to a necromancer. And might gives condition damage and power, something that both Power/crit build and Conditionmancer could benefit well.
Suggestion:
Signet type: Passive: Signet that turns a condition to might every 10 seconds; (Might 2 stack for 10 sec); Active: Consumes all conditions and turn it to Might, the stacks of might depends to the number of conditions a necromancer has. Then this goes well with the trait “Signet Master”.
Blood is Power, from the skill title itself, Might should be the one added effect upon activation of this skill rather than gain life force.
If we could have a lot of way to bring more might to the necromancer then this would definitely compensate the lack of power.
I’m really amazed and interested how the Charr were made by ArenaNet and I’m currently playing a Charr Necromancer. Everything is amazing until my Charr wore a Cabalist head armor.
Somehow I’m disappointed with ArenaNet and felt that they lack the respect on the Charr and was lazy on designing head armors that goes well with the Charr Horns. Charrs should normally show their Horns in every piece of head armor, their horns are one of their feature that defines them. When wearing most of the Head Armor their horns tend to disappear and I feel awkward seeing a Charr without horns. I never did remember that Charr horns were retractable or detachable. All head armors should have a way of incorporating the player-selected horns.
ArenaNet is famously known for adding even the smallest details in the game, and I hope they would give in some time to reconsider and rework the head armor for one of the things that defines Guild Wars, the Charr.
I guess not, but I’m sure Beast in the Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a Charr.
Hmmm that spectral walk looks sexy, that I must see when I get back home.
about the Greater Marks trait? is it really fixed now, the patch note didn’t clearly state that?
Yup there was some update to necro. Can I suggest that those fixed should not be removed in the thread just add a category what was fixed.
Not having problem during DE, just like what Josher said, just pop some wells and marks.
I do get gold always, even with a weak GPU resulting in a low FPS during DE’s and having a hard time seeing mobs coming or appearing, usually I do determine their arrival or respawn by checking on mark effects on being triggered or those spiked traps from the other class.
PvE is just fine with bleed stack + epidemic for me; sPvP had me on a crossroad on either fully converts from condition build to power-crit build. Had not yet played my necro on WvW though due to my weak GPU yet I’m leaning more on Long range with well build.
Despite the bugs on traits, I still do love my necromancer, and I believe that in due time ArenaNet will make some decent changes to this class.

My intentions were just living up to the name of what truly is a necromancer, hoping to have a minion companion that doesn’t need to be in a form of a utility skill.
comparing to the other class’s profession mechanic, it simply defines their class.
Lets say similar to a ranger, always having a companion yet you don’t necessary need to focus your traits to your pet. The relationship between the Grave companion and its master have some kind of give and take relationship, something the rangers don’t have directly (not sure).

As a Necromancer Main, some times I feel that we really lack those things that we could really say that we are a necromancer. As those engr has their kit, rangers can control their companion pet, mesmer controls their illusion, elementalist can exchange their elements, etc. the necromancer should have something more related to its actual description of being the one that communicates with the dead.
Profession Mechanic or the mechanic bar, should either be something about summoning minions as real necromancer are called re-animator of corpses. I’m thinking of the life force mechanic of the necromancer to have 4 active functions:
F1: Grave Companion – in sacrifice for a portion of life force summons a melee companion minion. Probably a semi-tanky minion that attacks whoever you attack unlike the Blood Golem that aggro’s anything. Has the same out-of-combat regen with the Blood Golem.
F2: Frenzied Companion – your minion goes in a state of blood-lust for 10sec, giving it stacks of might, fury and toughness while draining its HP. HP drained is cap at 30% of the max HP.
F3: Life Tap – initiate an exchange of life between the Grave Companion and the necromancer, slowly adds life force at the cost of draining some HP of your Grave Companion. Life Tap caps at 30% life force restored and 30% drained of the max HP of your minion.
F4: Death Shroud – Assume a spectral form and gain new skills, turning your life force into health.
As with its current state, I do feel that only having death shroud lacks the substance to be able to be truly called a necromancer and it’s way too simple.
Just having these thoughts while waiting for Necromancer updates.
Vaahlenaz Ashkarkas, a necromancer of the Ash Legion~
since necromancer don’t go well as their frontlines or those iron inventors.
I kept my Ghost Wraith mask, the mask that came with the character creation and transmuted it with a level 80 Carrion head armor, since I’m quite disappointed with head armors hiding or modifying their horns.
and yes my main is a Charr Necromancer, the horns has really a good synergy with the necro class.
It’s because of Rytlocks voice and they killed their gods…
and it’s also because I love cats
