According to the gw2 database, in the preview is the Wizards hat on the left is the Witchs hat from the Halloween event. Apparently an apostrophe and the word hat after it is considered a curse word on these forums, so that is the reason for edits.

Before Halloween I got quite a few from drops.. maybe 8 or so from 1-80 and a couple weeks or so up until the new content. Halloween and after, playing roughly 12 hours a day everyday until now… 0 keys.

It’s a shame you lose your foot step puddles from Sunrise/Twilight by making this though. Aside from that it’s nice.

I was planning to write an in depth story of my character using the summaries in “My Story” under my hero screen. However upon looking through the various entries, the scroll bar goes on but there are no entries after, “Estate of Decay” upon trying to scroll further, the list becomes blank.

I have completed all of the story missions on this character, including Arah story mode. Is there a fix in the works for this or is it a known bug at least?

By running difficulty level 2 fractals I had the item needed to craft the ascended back piece, Just from very casual play I had all of the skill points and ectos and most of the tier 6 mats needed, the rest I bought from the TP.

As for the rings, you get your first one at difficulty 10-11… I’m only on difficulty 4 atm and the dungeon itself is not difficult in comparison to other dungeons in this game and it’s actually fun and easy to find groups since everyone is doing it…

People will complain about anything, heck they even complain about handouts/free stuff that is given to them… this is definitely no exception. It doesn’t take loads of money to get this stuff, it takes playing the game the way you normally play. The only reason it’s going to take your life away or all your gold is if you’re so impatient you have to have the gear “RIGHT THIS SECOND” In which case you need to look at your own personal faults, not ArenaNet for adding something to the game.

Goodie for you. Some of us hate dungeons and will never do them. Why didn’t they make these available in wvwvw right away? It can’t be that hard. Yes, they added mandatory dungeon grinds to be competitive. thanks.

If you honestly think that the few stat increases from 3 items is going to give someone the edge or “ease” to kill you and stop you from being competitive… you must not be very good at pvp and suggest you stop.

Well here’s my feedback for the whole thing:

Phase 1: Missed the cutscene because it took so long to log in, roughly 5+ minutes, normally takes me about 10 seconds. I watched the video online, not all that impressive. The event itself, would have been fine, except the server lag was so unbearable that I almost logged off. When I use an ability and it takes, I think the longest I counted was 6-7 seconds, or doesn’t work at all… You have a pretty big problem.

The investigation quests, they were perfectly fine and fun, aside from all the npc’s being bugged and people not being able to finish this chain or having to wait until a server reset. (Bugged npc’s like this are becoming WAY too common.) Aside from that I would have liked to see more “quests” pertaining to the event. As for rebuilding the light house, nice touch but not worth doing in the long run.

Phase 2: No one knew where to go until the karka spawned in LA and even then, as usual with most events we had lag issues, though not as bad as phase 1. We did however run into the problem of the karka walking too far up the beach and becoming unkillable which was very disappointing. I eventually just went to the boat to go to the new map.

The phase 2 map event, while relatively short, was fun as well as finding the jumping puzzles and sticking around for the various events. However, I feel phase 2 in general lacked any form of “questing” like we had in phase 1 to gather the map pieces.

Phase 3:First off, the rewards for this phase were great, throwing precursors into the mix though I’m not sure I agree with but honestly I’m not getting into that. The actual event itself though, while it started out as fun and difficult, quickly became boring and dull, after the first hour myself and everyone else that was around me was complaining about the length of time to do the ancient karka event. If you’re going to put an event into the game, it can be lengthy but you can’t have something go on for multiple hours doing the exact same thing over and over.

Dungeon: The new dungeon is awesome, I’ve only ran across one “bug” in that my party and I all had our games crash on one of the paths making us have to completely restart (I’m sure you can understand why this is not acceptable) But on the whole it’s great and the ascended gear is good.

Now the biggest complaint out of everything I experienced and it’s not even a complaint about me really. Is knowing that you have major lag issues, crashes and bugs during “one time events” why in the world would you have a free trial during one. I understand you want to bring new players in to experience something awesome and coerce them into buying the game, but people that my guild knew that were on the trial actually decided NOT to buy the game because of all the problems with these events. I myself, having bought the game.. would never buy this game if I had of experienced these events while on the trial. It honestly makes me question your intelligence a bit and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Canach is bugged on Yak’s Bend.

I just farmed there for quite awhile, we’ll see. Anytime I farm anywhere aside from popular karma chain events I expect to get banned though. I even stopped leveling a Ranger because of this.

Wonder how they plan to handle people getting banned that are innocent. I like the aggressive approach to getting rid of bots, but people shouldn’t have to farm in fear when most of the game is geared towards farming.

The guild I’m in has a traditional apply on our website entry system. Where it is stated, we want you only in our guild and no others (which I know you can’t really tell if they are) but as well, you must represent us at all times. You have to be on the same server as us as well. While this has led to a smaller active guild size, it has worked out to our advantage.

We as a group “vote” on who we let in based on the application. Smaller amount of members actually enables us to do stuff as a guild. We all know each other, granted for the most part our guild chat isn’t used much though, we use voice chat. Makes for a family instead of just another world chat.

Aside from a WvW guild the capacity of which a guild can reach has no logical point in my opinion. I could understand if there was a form of raiding and I’m not looking to get into that debate but there are 5 mans and and Dynamic events, which with the later you’re going to run into overflow issues. And I know you don’t need to be in a “group” for doing dynamic events but let’s say that you want to get a massive party going with just guild members to go do something. Well you have to go purchase a WvW commander icon to do it. Say you all pitch in a buy it for one person, better hope that person is always online and wants to do what is planned as well.

The game as a whole in my opinion, while trying to bring together players and make it easier to accomplish things without being in a group has honestly pulled players apart. This can be seen quite easily through guilds.

The dungeon takes all of 7-15 minutes to complete. If you don’t have that amount of time in your life to hop on and do it then you really shouldn’t be playing an online game. Either that or expect to miss certain things.

Guild Wars 1 you couldn’t jump.
Guild Wars 2 dedicated puzzles that revolve around jumping.

I think they are just excited they figured out how to do it :P

Aside from that, what’s wrong with having jumping puzzles, it’s something to do outside the norm, and there is more to the halloween event than 1 jumping event.

I’ve seen more bots than ever recently, so I’m not sure how effective Anet has been. You hired a big group to deal with it, great. You only let us report it in game, which is terribly hard when there are so many in one tightly packed group, any forum post regarding it is quickly locked.

Want a personal tip? take one person out of the new group of people you hired and have them jump around to certain areas where they are prominent and go to town banning. It’s not hard to spot them, takes all of 10 seconds to see they are botting. Now they could “appeal” the ban and that’s fine until you get a system set up for more evidence, but in the mean time you’d be banning 100s if not 1000s of bots in the mean time on a daily basis. I’d even volunteer my free time UNPAID to doing this.

Long story short, you can throw out all kinds of numbers about the amount of bots you banned but when I see more now than before, forgive me if I’m skeptical and don’t believe you.

You get a point towards it I believe when you do Reaper Rumble, upon exiting the mini game.

I know we have dynamic events and that’s great. But why not have some hubs of heart quests that change what they want you to do on a daily or weekly basis. Something similar to dailies/weekly quests in… certain other MMO’s.

For example in an existing village give random NPC’s hearts above their head, not yellow but a different color to signify that these are a daily or weekly. Say for example…

NPC 1 wants me to catch some butterflies for her bug collection.
NPC 2 wants me to help him clean the streets of the town.
NPC 3 wants me to patrol the border of the town to keep it safe.

Next day/week —-——

NPC 1 wants me to deliver invitations to her bug themed party.
NPC 2 wants me to water plants in the towns gardens.
NPC 3 wants me to investigate thefts in town from local bandits.

Etc. ———-

Rewards could be for say, dailies… money and/or karma. Or even on the extreme for a weekly hubs a small amount of gems.. nothing that is going to let you purchase something right away but enough that you can save up to purchase something later.

This would be something to break up event grinding and promote max level characters to get back into the lower level zones and repopulate them. Making them feel less barren. Not to mention it would liven up some towns, which I know you put time into making as there are some really nice and even funny conversations that take place if you stick around long enough and listen.

By trying to balance everything in the game it’s become too balanced. It lacks any sense of feeling powerful.

There is absolutely nothing to strive for regarding character development at max level. Various and easy ways to get the “best” gear in the game, after that everything is cosmetic.

The game makes it so easy to do things with other players it removes the need for any social interaction during gameplay.

Dynamic events and “questing” while good on paper become repetitive after a couple of zones. It turns into a mad dash for the hearts and you realize you’re doing the same boring thing you did in the last zone, except you still have a billion more to go.

PvP is a random mini game that doesn’t give you any real connection to your character or progress you character in any way.

WvW giant free for all of who has the most numbers through the week, zerging to win is only fun for the one in the zerg.

You can’t trade with other players, no dueling, expensive forms of travel and constant gold sinks, no real end game, end game is a grind. I’m sure I’ve missed a few.

Yeah, I wasn’t disagreeing that everyone shouldn’t get something for joining in, just that sometimes games can be games and nothing more.

So a mini game, unlike anything in the game prior can only be fun and worth playing if you get rewards for doing it?

Fun is subjective, but most of the threads in this section cry for better rewards, titles or reduced difficulty. Everything you do has to give you something and nothing can be about just doing it to do it. Leading everything to really only be about what will I get, I want something better, I want more more more.

There’s no achievement for doing this specific event and the “reward” isn’t that great.. so if you’re not having fun doing it or not having fun with what you receive, why bother? Just my opinion.

It’s about having fun not getting rewards

Me and my guild did the same thing, got a party and did it together over voice chat. Was a blast hearing everyone rage. In my opinion it reminds me of the old NES days, something that was so annoyingly hard yet simple and fun, your brain goes dead and you do worse then something flips a switch and you do awesome and beat it.

We didn’t all get it, only a couple of us did, myself included but it was a blast… regardless of the nerd raging.

Human Guardian, no speed boost.

Did it successfully twice out of maybe, 20 attempts. Did it a 2nd time while at the same tower with guild members/wanting to see what you got from opening the chest a second time.

I don’t have the error codes on hand but since playing for the past 1-2 hours, I’m constantly getting disconnected or I lag out and get disconnected. When this happens, I don’t lose my internet connection, however the GW2 Launcher won’t connect at all and the GW2 website won’t load even though other web pages load fine. After a minute or so it works again and I can get back in game, a couple of minutes later it occurs again.

Anyone have a similar issue or have a fix? This is the 2nd or 3rd time in the past week that this has happened.

Edit I don’t have a mobile authenticator so the “temporary” solution that’s been posted a few days ago isn’t going to work for me.

Let’s make one thing clear first, I don’t set up shop on top of the cauldron

I just recently bought the mad king outfit, but got to roughly 300 champion in the brawl only using cauldron transformations, now I’m not entirely sure why people are complaining they are blocking progress when they set up a table at the top of the cauldron or fear up there since you have to be flagged as a brawler to have any of that affect you.

Now I do know that if you lose your transform you still retain your progress you’ve made from landing hits so getting feared into the water is a moot point, on the flip side, while in normal form while retaining your points you can be feared/hit which could be troublesome but the way around that is to, work your way back up to the big cauldron or find a small cauldron put down by someone with a witch costume. If that isn’t possible, use a tonic, relog or leave the area.

This isn’t really something that is at the fault of the players sitting on top of the large cauldron as much as it is something ArenaNet should have thought of by allowing a player to leave the brawl while not transformed. There are plenty of ways to get around this problem and banning players because you feel everything should be handed out or made so easy to get to is not a very good excuse. If I can get to 300 on the achievement without purchasing anything and having to go through everything that you have, fears or pumpkins thrown from tables (which don’t knock back or fear) you can too.

Edit As for losing points when you leave the brawl so you can get back to the cauldron, the points aren’t that hard to get again, making this excuse another moot point.

Well it starts with getting to the final story mission and finding a group to do Arah story mode. We progress through the dungeon no problems and eventually get to the final portion that says “Take the fight to Zhaitan” ~ Reboard the airship to continue. My group gets back on the airship and it just sits there. No prompts, no one to talk to, just and endless wait for nothing. So now we are stuck here, having wasted our time.

Just popping in here, was reading through threads, they should have sent you an email about the ticket you submitted, it should have an incident number in the subject field.

On Sunday night after the servers crashed I logged back into the game. Decided since the store was working, just lagging a bit I would go ahead and buy my character slot expansions, which was what I was planning to do before the crash.

I had 2400 gems for the 3 and purchased 2 of the expansion slots and it deducted 800 for each (1600) total. Guild member said I should wait because of the crash but it was too late. I logged out of the game to check and make sure it had worked and I still had only 5 character slots. So I completely closed the game and opened back up and the result was the same. Both purchases don’t show up in recent purchases but the gems are gone as well as not in my inbox, which was empty as well when I made the purchase.

I put this out there as a cautionary tale of people getting a bit overboard for saying certain things. I’m sure most would back me up that if you don’t hit a mob before someone kills it (tapping) you won’t get credit towards a heart. Which was what I meant by it when I said it to this person, who then decided to go mental on me. I know how the game works, but I never saw this person use an attack before I 1 shot the group of mobs we were fighting.

Just a future note, be a little nicer to people. And to Rannya if you happen to see this. I know how the game works, I was just wanting to make sure you got credit towards the heart. Which was why, for a few of those groups I was letting you go in first. I could care less about you doing more damage for “loot” as I’m 80 and just here doing map completion.

I have an i5 2500k at stock speeds, 8gb DDR3 1600mhz ram, Asrock exteme 3 gen 3 mobo, and an HiS 6950 HD 2gb graphics card. 750w psu

I sit at 60 fps on maximum settings, native render sampling however. In WvW I do drop down to about 20-30 when there is between 50-100 people on my screen but it’s still smooth. Some areas that are really busy in the pve world I can drop down to 40-50 range.

You guys are using Nvidia gpus, maybe it’s their drivers.. which I know is crazy talk but it is possible.

Before last nights crash I was planning to buy my 3 character slot expansions and go to sleep, I had 2000 gems, used the exchange for the other 400. I was talking to guild members, when the server crashed.

Once they came back up I waited a few minutes and purchased 2 of the 3 expansion slots, while the trading post and gem store were lagging a bit, they were “working”. It then ate my 1600 gems, 800 each and after logging out and exiting the game completely to make sure what I was buying was there…. I’m still at 5 character slots when I should be at 7.

Same problem here.. Must … Get… Bugged… Skillpoints.

I cannot access the guild Armorer, despite being able to purchase from him before. My rank and rank permissions in my guild have not changed. When attempting to talk to the armorer he just says that my rank does not have permission to display the guild emblem. Even though my rank supports it as well as we have the armorer contract.
