I noticed that the Mini Kasmeer Meade skin kind of bugs out depending on what area or zone you’re in. Her skin changes colors like armor does while other mini’s skin isn’t affected.

Something silly I know, it just bugs me because she’s the only mini I like or have out. In the screenshot you can see her with her skin color way off while the southsun mini running by is unaffected.

Roughly 29 runs so far of World 1 only, 4 skins

I’ll admit to using the guesting feature to get some world events up but only early in the morning, not during peak hours. For the most part I stay on my own server in the evenings to do things with my guild, some of which involves the world events.

My first big gripe was all the server side lag while doing said events… now I just tried to do the frozen maw and was thrown into an overflow. Same goes for any other world event I try to do, instantly in an overflow.

Now the guesting feature is nice and all and so is the new chest drop rates, but I’d much rather have the chests/events reverted pre-patch or guesting removed if it stops this.

I’d also like some word on whether Anet is looking into this and possible solutions they have in mind as this is slowly pushing me away from the game.

I agree this should be looked into. I’d rather the loot and system go back to the way it was prior to the patch just to make the fights a bit more enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice getting the rares but having none of my abilities work 90% of the time gets annoying. Then on the flip side, last night on Jormag, I was attacking the boss but my attacks only occurred every other second because of server side lag and no damage was showing so it was one of those things of throwing my hands up in the air just wondering if I would even get credit. Each world boss is a flash back to the Karka event, I feel like a war vet getting flash backs and it gives me nightmares.

Please look into fixing this and possibly engine optimizations so that your servers can cope with having so many people at an event.

Yes it started for me when I went to Lions Arch, as well as switched to other characters in Lion’s Arch.

Happening to me as well, Yak’s Bend US. I was playing for a couple hours or so just fine. Played for quite awhile after the 2nd small patch this evening. Finished my daily and went to the bank and switched characters and it started dropping me every couple of seconds from the game to the character select screen.

Just started getting this, can’t stay in the game longer than maybe 2 seconds. It was after the 2nd small patch today. And then it was a long while after that patch. Didn’t lag before hand and my connection is working as normal. It just boots me to my character select screen, upon getting on another character it almost instantly boots me back out.

While I do agree that the OP shouldn’t have done the trade, I don’t think he should be punished for it. I’ve seen other similar threads and it’s always directed to use the TP and I’ve also seen that customer support doesn’t do anything for scammed individuals.

I also agree with Kraggy, the game needs a player to player trading system, outside the TP. I get why the TP is there, I also get that it’s the store front for Anet to sell gem items and that’s perfectly fine. But players should have the option to open up a trade window with another player.

Granted I believe it’s not in the game as prevention for gold trading in regards to 3rd party websites, but if you can track gold via mail one would assume you could track it via player trading. If you design a trading system from the ground up, surely it would be feasible to put that in there. In my opinion another thing that’s hurting the honest players, while trying to protect them sure but at the same time punishing them.

There is no reason not to have it. Think I heard Anet say that the social interactions of looking for party members, yelling in map chat and using their poor excuse of a lfg tool now brought players closer. They just fail to realize that their entire game has made players require little to no social interaction with each other.

Everyone has a name that sticks across every GW2 server so it’s logical to have a lfg tool that allows you to group up with people across all of these servers. Not having to hop in and out of LA to get a new group of players in an overflow. It’s convenience when it comes down to it. I would go as far to say that I just don’t think they really know how to implement it or even code it to make it work properly.

RNG money sink for something that doesn’t require any money to get.

Mystic Coins from daily/monthly
Obsidian Shards from Karma, Fractals, Jewelry boxes or Laurels
Ecto’s obtainable from salvaging 70+ rares
Crystals or Philosopher’s Stones for skill points

The materials required are easily obtainable by any casual playing the game in any fashion, not everything should be purchasable via laurels and if they were to put them up for laurels it would have to be in my opinion multiple per, at least 3-5 and that would make it not worth it over the current way to get them.

New drop rates were fine in my opinion. It was nice to actually see stuff drop I could use towards my legendary. I don’t like grinding for hours and hours to get 1 or 2 t6 crafting materials. It was nice to get a few after doing a couple pent/shelter farms though.

People say it messes with the economy, yes it did, it reduced the insanely overpriced materials, most of which are controlled by farmers or super rich that control most of the trading post. The change affected more players in a good way than in a negative way.

I actually had hope of being able to get my legendary without spending a thousand gold in the trading post to buy materials that never dropped. You know the whole point of farming the materials yourself to make the items? Instead, now we probably have the same drop rates as before along side diminishing returns leading to a never ending grind fest. Out of all the changes made this patch, the “new” drop rates in Orr were my favorite change. Not because I could finally get rich in game but because I might actually feel like my time put into grinding was actually being rewarded.

Another let down, starting to see a trend.

I would love all of these, officer chat the most… something that’s basic and would be nice to have.

I fully support adding cores and lodestones to the dungeon vendors. I was in the process of making this suggestion when I happened across this thread.

I’m currently trying to make Sunrise, short of spending 390g just for the lodestones required, I am able to do CoE runs but have never seen a core or lodestone drop from the dungeon. None of the gear or items via vendor even interest me so I’m stuck with the tokens just wasting away.

Cores and Lodestones via dungeon vendors would balance out this market as right now the cost to make certain legendaries are so far apart that you start to wonder, what’s the real point? I understand it’s a supply vs demand issue, but with other lodestones being so easily obtainable and farm spots not dependant on uncontested temples I don’t think it’s so out of bounds to ask for this.

I don’t think a bug or fault in their diminishing return system would be considered an exploit. If you’re running the dungeon as you normally would then you aren’t exploiting anything.

It takes roughly 25-30 mins to do this. Any character that completes the level 10 quest gets a black lion key. While I’m sure it wasn’t intended to be done this way it was intended to get a key for your level 10 quest, just as it was intended for the npc’s to spawn illusions to help you on the quests fight. In my opinion, if someone wants to do something so boring to get a single key, let them. Regardless of taking this out, you won’t see an increase in sales of black lion keys because the rewards are garbage and the keys are not worth 125 gems.

But as of late, being Anet this will probably end up being called an exploit, players will be banned because of something that benefits the players and was intentionally put into the game. Or they’ll remove the key you get from your level 10 quest, but I expect bans to go out and that’s just sad to expect that to happen.

I’m not entirely sure why this is posted here, Anet will not do anything, nor is it their place to do so. Guilds are run by the players and set their own rules for conduct in the guild as well as permissions to invite, kick, promote, etc.

You need to be talking to the leadership of the guild to get it resolved.

I’d be happy with leaving drops and drop rates the way they are now.

But Remove diminishing returns.

Innovation is the development of new customers value through solutions that meet new needs, inarticulate needs, or old customer and market needs in value adding new ways. This is accomplished through more effective products, processes, services, technologies, or ideas that are readily available to markets, governments, and society.

I understand the game is “new” but it doesn’t really improve or even borrow certain things from other games that make them easily accessible to the player base. Dungeon Finder, player to player trading, dueling, multiple game modes for pvp… just to name a few.

It’s not that the people that play the game want something that hasn’t been done before, they want something that’s been done before by multiple MMO’s for sake of convenience and variety.

Using the WoW didn’t have this for x amount of time or you aren’t paying a subscription fee is a pretty feeble attempt to justify certain things that could have been done before they game launched. Also before anyone even goes with this is “Guild Wars 2” and not <Insert random name here> You can have convenient items in a game to make the players lives a little less stressful and still be unique.

I run into this every time I post on the TP. Granted I hoard items until I have about 4-5 pages worth of items to sell. Always chocked it up to a way to stop spamming the TP, although it gets very annoying because posting that many items takes a long time itself without having to wait for the spam protection.

While I find it extremely annoying, it’s understandable since the TP is game wide not server based. I’m sure they could find a way around this but that would require development time, much more beneficial things they could do with their time than optimizing the TP.. as painful as that is for me to say.

I enjoy the game to an extent. I’ve played all kinds of MMO’s …. the mmo that shall not be named is one of them, but not the only one. In that MMO, looking back even after quitting.. I can tell you stories of myself and my guild doing certain quests… raids… pvp… basically anything and there are a lot of moments of pride in what I had done, because it felt like I had accomplished something.

Getting better gear helped situations, an increased level cap without level scaling let me go back to previous content and actually made me feel as if I progressed and became more powerful and let me “re-experience” old content without having to have the same amount of people as it once did. You get rewarded for what you do, not just with better gear but the knowledge of being able to go into an encounter and be victorious or by simply putting in the time to make yourself better though skilled play, gear or knowledge.

There certainly was burn out periods with the mmo that shall not be named, but there were many options of things to do that still seemed rewarding.. in all aspects of the game.

As for Guild Wars 2… I’ve played since release, I have one max level character, haven’t seen a reason to get a max level of another profession because it’s the same old story. I don’t really feel that my character has progressed, nothing is rewarding at max level. As in the article, gear wise, everything is the same for everyone. I guess it comes down to how well you play.. and skill vs gear is perfectly fine.

But looking back at those 80 levels, nothing was really memorable. I’ve thought about it, there was nothing that I personally did that made me say, “Hey, this was hard.. we persisted through this rough encounter and finally pulled through.” There’s no content to go back to where I feel like my character is more powerful (aside from having my gear on my character than when I leveled it) Going back to lower areas is the same as if I were leveling a new character, nothing has changed.

Even max level content isn’t rewarding, you grind and grind away or just buy the best armor. You decide if you character looks cool, if it doesn’t you grind and grind away to get armor that looks cool and wear it/transmute it…. and then that’s it. All that’s left is a grind for absolutely useless junk.

PVP, again is not rewarding in the slightest, your pvp character is completely separate from your actual character so what’s the point?

WvW, decent concept but again, ultimately pointless. Fight for control of a world that really has no implact on your server, aside from mediocre buffs to crafting, gathering, etc. When your character already has their crafting to a max level, there’s no point, as for gathering, the bonus isn’t that noticeable, if you’re lucky you get an extra swing on a node, at least from my experience.

I get burnt out on this game before each monthly release and then even during the monthly events I’m burnt out and only logging on to participate in them. Nothing they’ve added thus far is really time consuming and gets me into the event either. You can complete whatever has been released relatively quickly and you’re left waiting for them to unlock the next part. Wintersday was meant to be a laid back venture, I’d log on the first week and do the daily dungeon and I was done, by the end of that week I had everything else done, Tixx came to LA, we did a couple things and again, that entire event was over and then just dragged on pointlessly for 2 weeks.

The game has no depth, it has no character development, it honestly has no reason for people to keep playing when other games do it better. I know that’s a matter of opinion, but it’s the opinion of a majority of players.

Better watch out Anet…. Fox News will probably see this and make a big story about sex in Guild Wars 2.

From my understanding when it comes to bot reports a GM is suppose to look in on those accused players and make the determination. I could be wrong, but pretty sure I’ve read that somewhere on the forums, posted by a member of Anet. Whether they do that or not, I don’t know.

I’ve ran across a couple botters in Orr, moving in a very small scripted path while farming certain elementals when we held specific temples. It’s blatantly obvious what they were doing. Watched them for about 45 minutes before I left, came back 3 hours later and upon my arrival 1 quickly logged out and the other tried inviting me to a party and then left the area. Told him there’s no way I’d group with him because of what I had watched him do previously.

So while I know there are cases of “mistaken identity” there are also a lot of cases of people botting, like above that probably get banned and think that they can get away with it.

My general rule of thumb is, when and if I plan to try and farm anything in the open world, I’m completely random in everything I do, because some players are just lazy and don’t take the time to make an informed decision before they mash that report button as well as I’m sure GM’s don’t fly in to actually verify every report.

In short, yes we are allowed, you shouldn’t be banned. But go forth and expect it and you won’t be disappointed lol.

Firstly, I know the main aspects of the game come first, need to be fixed, etc. This thread isn’t about that, move on.

I wish there were more mini games or just general fun time waster things to do in the game. And on that note, something that you could actually group up to do. My guild had a Christmas/New Years party, short of standing in the middle of lions arch not really doing anything, there was nothing to do “out of the norm” We did look up a bar fight mini game but were saddened to see that it wasn’t even in the game. Not to mention, keg brawl, snowball pvp, toypocalypse can’t be done with a group.

We aren’t a giant guild, for the party I think we started with 7.. ended with 6 people. Just sad when the only real thing to do together is the same thing we’ve been doing since launch. It’s the little things that make a game great… along with the big ones.

I personally only play one character atm, my female human guardian. While I do enjoy the way she holds a 2 handed greatsword, it would be awesome to hold it the way a human male does. As well as the pony tail, I’d love there to be a proper pony tail for humans. Similar to what is available for the female Norns.

I wouldn’t limit this to just humans, especially if it were a gem store purchase. I would say give it to all races if that were the case. It would be cool to have the dance though!

I’ve played every day for multiple hours a day since the Wintersday release. Up to 12 hours + a day. I’ve done the events, farmed in low level zones as well as cursed shore. I’ve also farmed some dungeons, mainly Fractals and CoF. I’m in a relatively small guild but we all do the same things on a daily basis that I just listed above, no one has had one drop.

I remember seeing these boxes listed in the patch notes as being a world drop and laughed because I knew it would be an abysmal drop rate. On that note, people on my server get excited with stuff like this, especially when it drops and it does get shared that “Oh I got this from a mob” Haven’t seen a single person make the claim.

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if its not at all in the loot table for random mobs, mainly from a realistic stand point of they are in the gem store and they are not going to give a realistic alternative to get gamble boxes without spending money. Also if someone had of gotten one from a drop, they’d post in this thread in the light of “Hah, you guys are morons and Anet wouldn’t lie to you… just play the game… rng…etc”

I’m sure they can tweak drop rates on items on the fly, you can hot fix certain things that don’t require a server restart or patch so why not drops? Having a magic find feature points directly to having a loot drop infrastructure similar to dungeon crawlers, Diablo III comes to mind and the same issues with drop rates appearing to rise and fall is a common issue over there.

Now think about it, we have a massive event happening, players have a large amount of gold they can exchange for gems at the start, but due to the rng involved with making certain items or the boxes on the gem store, most will burn through gems and not get what they want. Solution? Go farm more gold to exchange for gems, but if you lower the drop rates on items that are worth anything or just an overall reduction, you end up with players that get less money and are more inclined to just pay real cash for gems. Drop rates from what I remember seem to go down during every event, happened to me during Halloween as well as Lost Shores and now Wintersday, it doesn’t go unnoticed.

On that note, it’s not like Anet would ever admit to doing it, they’d lose the majority of the player base because of it. What they would do however is do what they’ve done thus far. Write down what drops for you in X amount of time or we are looking into it but nothing appears to be wrong. Then later down the road either the drop rate “magically increases” which I’m willing to bet will happen after Wintersday… or "We discovered a bug that was causing a lower drop rate of certain items or rarities or (insert anything here) and a fix has been implemented. <—- That fix or any before it to my knowledge never requires a patch so it goes unnoticed. Drop rates return and people forget until the next event, because oohh shinies.

tldr; If drop rates can be changed “secretly” and they are doing it to push players to the cash shop, they’d never admit to it. Drop rates go down every event and will go back after the event just like they have for the past two.

He stands up and looks left and right on occasion. I think he makes a doo doo dooee sound but its so rare and quiet you’ll never notice it. He also looks extremely depressed. I have him, he’s alright. I didn’t spend that much money to get him, opened roughly 20 boxes to get the minis to craft him. I do regret it however.

It’s just like in the snowball pvp or spvp, you get the same thing, doesn’t mean anything really. No achievement attached to it.

It drops from the wintersday boxes, says it in the patch notes. I’d guess it will eventually make it to the Black Lion chests but right now it’s one of those things that everyone wants and they have it set up so people spends loads of cash to get it.

They would be buying boosters from the gem store, therefore funding Arena net to bring out new content… and… pay for extra security to ban the bots! It’s quite smart if you think about it.

So I got to thinking, there seems to be a booster for just about everything. Something the most prevalent to date is diminishing returns. It doesn’t matter who you are, casual player, someone who likes to grind, or even run dungeons you’re hit with this horrible thought process implemented to bottleneck a “bot’s” cash flow.

After many complaints from my guild and talking about this when we try to do anything together it hit me.

Diminishing Return Immunity Booster. At the most, it would completely remove the DR affecting a player while it is active, or to be a little less greedy it could reduce the DR effect by 50%.

This is a serious suggestion, just seems to be a joke because Diminishing Returns that prevent you from playing a game the way you want through legitimate means is a joke.

You can do all 5 events everyday (till the event is over) after Tixx gets to lions arch. So technically you can make all the minis.

Already been said by a dev you only get enough materials to make 2 minis. So technically you can’t. And if people are having diminishing return problems at all it will knock them down to one. Just another reason why DR doesn’t belong in this game.

All I hear in my head when I read that sentence is, we nerfed something into the ground, whether it be a farming spot or drop rate on items. And they don’t actually tell you what they did so it just further solidifies it in my mind.

I went into a fractals for the daily, before the daily reset time. The run ended up going over the reset time by 7 or 8 minutes. We got the daily chest, I’m wondering though, does the game count that as “yesterdays” daily or the next day. Meaning, could I go back in and get another daily chest?

Not the same. Also not worth it.

No affect, by supporting the game before incentives you now get the option of nothing or buying gems to upgrade!

Get rid of diminishing returns/restore farming spots … or make new ones. The game isn’t about grinding, then it is (which is fine) Then every place to grind and everything you grind is nerfed. It’s one thing to nerf everything to oblivion, it’s another to nerf it all and not give realistic alternatives.

More sPVP modes obviously.

WvW… complete overhaul tbh, there was a video recently that talked about changes he would make. Pretty much everything he said, don’t have it off hand though.
