This is a joke. Because punishing soloQers wasn’t enough, now we have Tankers… and these tankers are going to get into Diamond while people who aren’t exploiting will be stuck in Ruby.

PvE and PvP require mobility. And because the spirits have HP bars unlike Spirit weapons and banners, they just die in all content.

Spirit Druid would put Ranger inline with Ele in terms of support. But it really doesn’t work Raid bosses with constant AoE damage. In PvP they are trash, I’ve seen a few Druids try but moving them point to point is really clunky and the AoE fest just mows them down like every rolled a Lumberjack.

Please, Anet, bring back spirits! They’ve been nerfed quite heavily from when they were FotM. They should be fine now!

Yes, Durability is the BEST but its the best on everything, even Zerker builds. If something is so obscenely powerful that every build benefits from running it, that by definition is OP.

I would like to direct you to Rune of the Grove and Rune of the Dolyak. The first one has synergies with Nature Magic and Dolyak’s passive grants ASFG. As well as the stuff on Metabattle.

I believe Durability is OP. Perhaps change the passive VIT with a defensive active?

This is why no one PvPs. We have trash like them. Not a single soul with a sliver of kindness. Its just a mountain of salt and rage.

While I agree with the notion of playing to win, a good thief can still throw off rotations, you just need a better plan then “zerg mid”. (Ideally, having two go far and blast from stealth then backcapping mid ect.)

Its a serious issue, and only we can fix it. But no one will.

A good start would be when people ask for help, to not troll them. I think the most off putting thing about PvP in this game is the community. And considering the meta that is impressive.

It is the master of nature and utilizes its power. Living off the land as the wild itself.

Druid is a class that takes me two favorite concepts, aside nature based things my favorite classes are Support casters (Cleric. Mage. Ect.)

Flavor wise, its the reason its been my main forever.

Class wise? I like Druid. But its a struggle to play it and most of Ranger when things like Rev, Ele and Chronomancer are running around..

A good portion of the player base doesn’t understand that this is a team game. Helseth is great, but you can see what happens when you don’t have team support. That’s why he’s in Emerald still.

I have no team, and I never will because I am shy and struggle to make friends.

However, the fact that SoloQers are punished so harshly is ludicrous. How am I supposed to find a team If I have nothing to show aside Legendary Scrub “le 1v1 me”? Let alone start a kitten conversation with someone.

Agreed with OP.

Emerald is the only possible one to get into with a premade. When losses start to take away pips you cant progress.

MMR must be in effect because I am still close to 50/50 on W/L just more stressed and angry. I also am starting to dislike the playerbase even more. However, kitten posting in map chat and driving jokes into the ground is more fun then usual.

The answer to this may sound trolly or like a joke, in fact it is the most commonly thrown around phrase on the pvp fourm.

But.

Take it at your own pace, see what you do wrong and what you could have done better. Look at your damage logs and lean the skills and rotations of not just your class but others. As a PvE player, you apply the same thing to mobs/bosses right? You learn the attack patterns and evade the hard hitting stuff while landing your hits. The same concept applies.

However, enemy players unlike mobs, will think and react. Thats where things get tricky. Just in the end, dont blame anyone if you die, dont blame Anet for imbalance, o matter the bullkitten specs people run. You have to learn from your mistakes. Thats the only way to get good.

Boy it would be nice to have unblockable attacks on every class and build. And I sure do love having three stunbreaks.

But you cant run, they are everywhere. Far point? It was the Chronomancer all along. Your own weapon? Chronomancer. Lords? Chronomancer. That tree? Also a Chronomancer. That troll in map chat? May or may not be Colin.

Can someone please tell me what counters them?
I’m dodging Mirror Blade and denying clones, but I only delay the 100-0. Blocks, Invulns, Stuns and stealth is just too much for me. I have no clue how to go about this.

This is a build tailored to my own playstyle able to 1v1 any class. (And even 100-0 people who It is a hyper aggressive Druid that could probably work just as well with Muarder. But I am OCD about healing, Cele arguably offers more allowing you to bunker.

Your advantage over a true bunk is a decent burst combo and ways to sustain dps.

Smokescale, upon using Shadow Assault should follow into WhaO if the heal isn’t needed or CAF is full.

Upon obtaining fury, Remorseless resets. Fury is obtained from RNG on Two-Handed Training. And a more controlled source, your dodge roll. Evading a burst and turning around to punish with a 3-4k Mual.

Hilt Bash + Tiger’s F2 is your main burst. I have seen the pet crit for 5k. On top of this, it resets Remorseless. Following up with Mual is ideal.

Your Dodge also cripples, and gives you Fury/Swiftness. Perfect for keeping up on faster foes with the Greatsword, an issue I had been having but didn’t want to use the wolf for.

Strength of The Pack – Every application of fury resets Remorseless. On top of might stacking, you will stack 10 vuln for 5s every application.

Edit: Aside the runes and sigils, this build is now on basically on Metabattle as one of the possible variations of Celestial Avatar Druid as of 11/30/2015, I have also been seeing several Druids running this in the past few days.

LB can combo enemies off point on Bunker Druid, as seen in ESL by several highly respected rangers and our very own Euratien.

There is also a muarder’s lockdown Druid using staff/LB

LB Survival with a highly skilled vanilla ranger can take many of the new specializations provided you have HoT pets.

LB is still solid for damage in PvE

LB is still solid in WvW zergs

LB is an excellent weapon in Zealots.

Make Kudzu and join my salad army.

The only title that implies skill is Crabgrabber.

So is every class, Gw2 was designed so “everything is possible”, however Ranger/Druid has short comings and is sub optimal in some places. On the flip side, Ranger is the master of Ranged Damage and Burst Healing. And in Viper’s Gear our damage is amazing, comparable to Sinister Engie (Slightly lower)

As ia any good rogue archtype. Would Robin Hood storm some rich dude’s castle in broad daylight? Would a predator not go for the weakened or sick prey as opposed to healthy that is going to put up a fight? Yes, Ranger is opportunistic, but more of a “by any means necessary” type of opportunistic. And we can still fight on “fair terms” but use what is given to you.

As a long kitten time ranger player with my original Ranger from headstart. We are first and foremost the pet class. In PvP you must use the pet to its advantages and cover its disadvantages. And that is where our skillcap is. Druid is useful, and your pet can peel for you at the cost of Might/Quickness if you go BM.

If your dont wanna play Ranger just jump on the Ele bandwagon like everyone else for past three years. It isnt leaving the meta any time soon and it makes me wonder a lot if what I had played Ele instead of Ranger? Where would I be?

My reason for picking Thief is I like trickster-like Rogues in RPGs after Rangers, Clerics and Cultists. Daredevil fits the bill, but I see that was a mistake.

My point still stands there is almost no place to practice outside of private arenas and even there its going to be difficult.

Going to drop my mentality that I am any sort of good here and ask, are there any proper rotational guides I should be looking for as a support Druid?

One thing that keeps me away is there is never a true show of personal skill at high level play.
In Gw2, its every second of the game. 2v1 3v2 4v3 5v4, very rarely is there a fight outside the inital teamfight. The game is then decided by rotations and numbers. And that bothers me.

Seeing as the good pets are covered, a little off topic. The day Wyverns are fixed are the day we get a new choice for a meta pet…

- Fire field, using this and the SB/LB/Axe got me 500+ burn ticks from the combo field in Cele.
- Electric Wyvern has a KD
- Both will have Area Denial
- Wing buffet looks like it may be pretty good.
- I’ve see decent numbers on the (still) Golems. Slightly stronger then the Canines.

Flying, elemental puppies tbh.

Simply put I dont. Premades aren’t even the issue. I am half tempted to just drop out of pvp entirely until this kitten gets fixed.

People are finding out how broken and easy Rev is. You can turtle forever until there is an opening to 100-0. God forbid you get a Herald in a teamfight…

I can’t believe people can think Druids are so good when they’re so easy to lockdown. Whenever I see one I interrupt the most important and obvious skill to interrupt, celestial 4, and the fights already over. Whenever I play as a Druid the same thing happens. There’s so much CC in this meta a Druid should be considered mid to low tier.

This is honestly how I feel. Druid feels subpar in the light of DH, Chrono, Scrapper and Reaper.

You also left out the fact Druid has (in a support build) no way to deal with Reaper. As well as condi bomb vulnerability after popping CAF.

I hate tiers but here we go.

Transcendent God Tier
Dragon Hunter – I am a firm believer in l2p, and while DH is beatable 1v1, they are INSANE in conquest. Total point denial. There is no counterplay to Dragon’s Maw in Conquest. Your only choice is to fight them off point. And that scoreboard is ticking.

Chronomancer – _Madman you say! This post is garbage! Chronomancer isn’t OP its just shatter 2.0! _ Well, sure. Your average Chronomancer is Shatter 2.0. But in theory, Chronomancer has the highest skill cap in the game. A cap no one has reached yet. Mastery of Continuum Shift will bring about the ruin of everyone except for this theoretical Temporal God. Bow down, beg for mercy, for our time is running out. And only he shall stand in the wake of his deeds.

God Tier?

Herald – Okay so, aside Sword 3, Rev actually kinda gets demolished. However, Herald is where things get nasty. Pre-fight Might stacking is the work of the Devil. (Sadly, Maylax wishes he was the Devil.) This really is pretty OP. But Rev itself isn’t nearly as OP as made out to be. We just need counterplay to Sw3.

Druid Chris Pratt – We have Dinosaurs, you dont. Everyone seems to think Druid is OP. It really isn’t. Reapers demolish us, Condis melt us, we have little stability and Boon strips demolish us. We are tanky bar a few damage druids, we bunker and support team fights. They are God tier because lower tiers cant kill them. And Druid is still a fair margin stronger then the old meta. Reminiscent of old BM Bunk. Thye are still able to demolish many power builds, including DH.

Reaper – OH MY GOD MOM LOOK AT ME I AM LITERALLY SATAN. HAHAHAHAHAHA DIE NERD, DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Scrapper – Imagine, John Cena fused with a robot that had little robots and stole King DDD’s hammer. That is Scrapper.

Tempest – Auras, its 3:21 AM and I have collage as soon as I wake up. So this post is going to keep degrading in quality. Do you guys like anime?

Necro outdamages Ranger by miles. Reaper can deal more damage then a power ranger could ever dream of and much easier. However, Ranger still has range. Keep in mind as a Power ranger you are Thief bait and there is more ranged hate then ever.

If you are looking for damage, give Reaper a shot.

Druid again.
Reaper, Chrono, Herald and Scrapper will be ignored.
Then Berserket and Daredevil will be nerfed after.

I am finally satisfied with my Ranger’s look. I didn’t want three pieces of t3 and found this mix.

Im sure this has been said to death but we haven’t had a thread for it. Plus, I want Anet to see it.

Let me admit it, I am completely biased to the Wyverns, they are the most adorable pet and have great potential in all game modes. They look amazing and have amazing F2s. They are like winged little dinosaurs but enough about this let me get to the point.

THEY CANT LAND ANY ATTACKS.

I realize this means changing the animations. But I dont want to see them go to waste. On paper, the DPS is there. The F2 Utility is there, and some decent CC is there. (I dont think Wing Buffet needs changes but if you wanna make it faster as a PvPer I wont complain.) However, the fact that after seeing a video and watching the Wyvern chase the Golem, then do it myself for well over five minutes before it killed it, raises one question.

Will this ever be fixed?
