Warhorn skills work quite nicely with action camera. Just can’t play without it anymore!
It is only grind if you want it to be. Start ignoring the exp bar if it flashes spend your points and carry on. Play however you want. At some point you realise oh I can do this stuff now so go for it instead of I MUST GET THIS NOW SO I MUST GRIND THIS NOW SO NOW EVERYTHING IS MINE NOW NOW NOW. See? No grind at all.
The thing is.. you don’t full ascended gear. Exotics is fine. If you really want to gear with ascended then gear your MAIN and/or the one you play raids with. Every other character can do just fine with exotics and some ascended trinkets (these are CHEAP).
So what to get:
Ascended Armor – NO, horribly overpriced for minimal stat increase.
Ascended Weapon – YES, but only for main and raid characters.
Ascended Trinkets – YES, cheap to buy with laurels/guild commendations.
Problem why reaching tier 4 is hard is because people are too used to one commander zerg as one blob method. This simply doesn’t work in this map. Worst case is when someone links waypoint to middle wyvern boss and asks everyone come to the lag fest while ignoring rest of the bosses. But hey at least we got tier 2 that’s good right? NO, it isn’t.
Tips to success at Night:
3-5 players on each rally point.
Do not lose the rally point, defending is top priority.
When there’s no defend event, help pact soldiers and collect supplies for rally points.
When there’s 20 mins left on timer, chopper appears, take the one next to you, do not wp to somewhere else!
Kill all bosses and enjoy the tier 4 reward!
Today I decided to go silverwastes (a map I’ve previously fully mapped pre-hot) on my alt. On arrival I get the usual map completion reward chest but also 100% Tyria completion chest?! This shouldn’t happen because I haven’t finished Mount Maelstrom on this character.
Theory: Silverwastes and Dry Top maps can replace other tyria maps for the tyria 100% reward?
What is the worst problem in having an action camera? When you toggle it off and can’t find your cursor! Who knows where it was before toggling action camera on, did you click a window, chat or something in inventory? What action camera needs is cursor being placed in the middle of the screen when action camera is toggled off. This would also help clicking confirmation windows that appear in the middle of the screen too.
I made a very good hybrid build for pve (hot). It has damage but also condi so all overloads are useful while still having survivability and condi cleanse WITHOUT WATER LINE!!!! (bring on the pitchforks) Trooper runes and shouts <3
Air signet can be replaced with any other stunbreaker too. I just love to move fast.
If only I could use Aftershock while channeling a skill…
The only problem I have with the current Rebound version is that when I survive an attack there is NO ANIMATION at all so I end up downed anyway. Also the heal amount is too low.
Dunno if you take suggestions but could you change the cursor location behaviour when toggling off the action camera? It would be nice for the cursor to appear in middle of the screen instead of who-knows-where it was before when toggling action camera off!
There are both pros and cons for the current left mouse button so while I would want it to keep autoattacking, I’d also want it to not autoattack when I don’t press left button!
I also had an QoL improvement suggestion for the action camera: When toggling the action camera off, please make the cursor appear in middle of the screen instead of where it was before!
I hope they will implement this suggestion, would help a lot with grenades/mortar skill 1 without sacrifizing the cast with ground targeting for other skills.
Maguuma ones: Gliding 1 and Mushroom 1. After those probably gliding 2 and the other remaining #1s.

This game is one of the LEAST gindish ones there is. Just because YOU decide to do something 9001 times in a row doesn’t mean you should do that. It’s only grind when you make it so.
I understood it the way they gonna hit the update button one minute after reset. So 1 min to do old dailies if you’re fast enough!
“Adjust Camera to Character Height — When unchecked, the camera will be placed at the same height regardless of your character size.”
This option doesn’t do what you want? It’s under options/camera.
Glide leaning mastery will solve your glide too slow problem.
Love the hammer! For someone who hates swapping constantly kits, this weapon is perfect for me. (Keeping mortar kit as ranged/combo field option.)
Anyway the auto-attack should be a bit faster to allow crit-traits to work better (not necessarily need a damage buff).
I also had some issue activating the skills, don’t know if this was the profession itself or potentional delay in the servers. Didn’t seem to be so with other professions.
Here’s some feedback about usability of the druid.
I think the avatar mechanic should behave more like the necromancer’s death shroud (but without the second health bar and keep the unique bar filling mechanic).
I had some issues where I accidentally press it twice to activate leaving me empty handed because it instantly deactivated and emptied the whole bar. A short 1 second cooldown when activated would fix this issue.
Also when leaving avatar with some force left, can it be done so it doesn’t empty the bar?
I encountered a terrible problem with avatar skill 1. Because of some delay it’s impossible to hit allies who are moving/kiting around. This ended up to be my personal or heal the pet skill! Maybe you could also add some damage to this skill so you can contribute to the fight?
Here’s some feedback of mine about this weekend’s Tempest.
Overloads are good now. Really nice with the Harmonious Conduit stability and the effects overall.
Warhorn
- Heat Sync needs more love or less cooldown. 30 seconds is too much for what it does at the moment.
- Tidal Surge knockback should come faster, now it takes some time before it knockbacks. Not very good when trying to interrupt someone.
- Water Globe, instead of a moving field, could the field stay on you (like Berserker torch #5 fire field)?
- Cyclone, can the pull radius be slightly increased? Doesn’t seem to pull mobs at all.
- Lightning orb moves too fast so it barely does any damage at all.
Shouts
- Shock and Aftershock! cd too high?
- New Rebound! shout: “Ignore the next lethal blow and receive healing” doesn’t seem to work very well, I still end up downed when receiving the lethal blow. Is the heal too low? Should there be 1 second invulnerability after surviving the lethal blow?
Traits
- Gale song bug? When I have 1 stack of stability (Harmonious Conduit) and I get cc’d once somehow Gale song activates. Is this intentional? Shouldn’t the stability deal with the cc and this trait ignore that?
- Latent stamina, why only when attuning to water? Shouldn’t this be in water line?
- Imbued Melodies, It says 10 second cd to use Sand squall? But then Sand squall is 30 cd?!
Please remove this. Why ONE profession have an advantage that other professions do not have! It’s breaking the minigames (southsun survival and even crab toss). In Southsun you try to shoot them with arrow and all you get is “blocked” by their aegis! In crab toss you can throw the crab at a person who has aegis and the crab gets destoryed in the progress too.

Not a bug, just poor wording. You are using a speargun (harpoon gun) and tracking a harpoon achievement. To make it even more complicated you must use a spear to get credit for harpoon master (not speargun).
And I thought Shared Empowerment was op then you even buff it more. 25 might here I come.
Nice water overload buff. More condi cleanse without forcing to spec in water. RIP heat sync, you shouldn’t limit this only to might, add at least fury and swiftness in it or even make it a blast finisher. Rebound will be nice against team wipes, might even go suicidal when activating it just to heal from it.
Harmonious Conduit: This trait has been re-worked. Upon activating an overload, gain stability for 4 seconds. If the overload is successfully completed, gain 10% damage for 5 seconds.
This will be in heavy competition with the Tempestuous Aria, not sure if I like it that way.
Gravity Well: Now performs a knockdown, float and then pull. No longer gives stability on end. Increased final damage by 50%

Yeah I tracked down that it’s lucid singularity trait. Some googling showed it used to heal you while in channeling but that was a long time ago.
They suddenly lowered the quality in a patch that took few months ago. You can take high resolution pics by adding “-bmp” in the game shortcut file. Here’s how to do it from wiki Command line arguments:

Halp i’m drowning. Is this designed so you can’t have glint/herald in underwater or just not ready for this beta event?
Looks like Ventari (yeah maybe not) and Jalis can’t be used either in underwater.
Herald doesn’t need condi removals, would be too op. Use the other specs for condi cleansing.
GS autoattack is too slow in pve. The other skills are fine (at least for me).
Day time needs more frequent non-meta event chain dynamic events.
I agree that those two staff skills need the warrior gs #3 targeting.
I do not see a reason why NOT to buy it. Awesome pve areas and mobs, more endgame content that makes existing places worth visiting and ofc the elite specs that really make the professions more fun.
Gravity well needs it’s float back. Why not make the 3 pulses to first pull then second pulse to inflict some movement condition and then the last pulse to float the enemy still standing inside the well.
Didn’t notice much different in difficulty. The frogs instantly downed me at first because I soaked the 5 arrow shot or didn’t run away when they took the dagger and stabbed me to death. Smokescales still kill people who don’t move away from the aoe (don’t change this!). Mushrooms are certain death in melee.
Fire arcana-tempest!
Here are some things that might need some changes. If something isn’t listed in here, it’s good <3.
Overload
- Initial overload cooldown (5 seconds) seem a bit too long still. Mostly having problems using these in water and earth.
- Overload Fire radius seems a bit too short still.
Warhorn
- Wildfire spreading seems a bit too slow.
- Cyclone pull radius is too short.
- Lightning orb doesn’t seem to bring any useful damage in group fights.
Tempest specialization
- Combine minors Speedy conduit and Hardy conduit. Add one more minor.
- Latent stamina feels like a useless placeholder. I would never pick this one over the other two adept ones. Rework somehow?
- Earthen proxy still is too weak for a master spec. Maybe add an extra way to get protection?
Shouts
- Wash the pain away, my only problem with this is lack of condi removal, so I can’t replace ether renewal with it.
- Aftershock cd is too high!
- Rebound rework looks interesting and better than the current version. Sad_panda.jpg for I couldn’t test it this beta weekend. (quote below)

First here’s some info of ascended weapon strengths:

So do these numbers have any meaningful impact in the game? Also does my main hand dagger skills become significantly weaker when I choose to wear warhorn instead of offhand dagger?
I think the tempest is doing great for what’s it developed for: group events in open world content in maguuma. Well it’s not perfect so here’s what I think should be tweaked:
Overloads are nice but the 5 second initial cooldown seems a bit too harsh. Maybe lowering it to 3 seconds would make it more useful. Also fire and air overload radiuses seem too small, slight increase would make them great while not completely hugging your enemy.
I think the warhorn skills are good as they are now but earth should have at least one combo blaster (focus and dagger offhands have blasters!). So adding combo blast to Sand Squall (earth warhorn #4) would be ideal.
Shouts are nice too but there’s some small issues with them. Wash the pain away is nice except it has no condi removal so it’s hard to replace ether renewal . Feel the burn should give 2 stacks of burn. Shock and aftershock should have lower cd (35-40s?). I didn’t use flash-freeze much but it seems fine. I didn’t use eye of the storm as utility slot but as trait gale song and it felt epic.
The elite shout rebound… I don’t know who was drunk while doing this but it’s not very practical. Most of the time I remember to use it, my autoattack steals the effect and I end up being useless. If I have quickness it’s 100% quaranteed that it’s wasted on an autoattack. I was thinking that instead of reducing next attack by 25% maybe it should instead reduce 2-10 seconds of every skill cooldown in progress. This obviously needs balancing because 10 seconds cd reduction might be too overpowered.
Tempest traits. Combine the speedy conduit and hardy conduit into one minor trait. It’s a bit waste of an minor to focus only on one thing (overloads).
Adept traits. Gale song is simply awesome, love the automatic aoe stun break. Latent stamina, this seems rather weak, maybe increase the endurance gain? and the cd seems a bit pointless. Unstable conduit, I think this should give the aura on activation instead of finishing the overload.
Master traits. Tempestuous aria, this is great trait for the shouts. Earthen proxy, is 7% increase in protection really that strong? seems rather weak. Harmonious conduit seems fine.
Grandmaster traits. Imbued melodies, rather weird one, I wouldn’t choose this trait at the moment. Lucid Singularity, now this is a good grandmaster trait. Elemental bastion, didn’t test this but it looks strong for an aura sharer build.
Anyone got problem with the windows 10 game recorder (xbox) with gw2? I encountered some issues with fullscreen where the recorder shortcut keys don’t work except win + alt + r which starts the recording but weirdly also lowers brightness down and pressing it again wont stop the record. In windowed mode there’s no problems.
Also in windows 7 I had weird stutters with ssd and gw2 but in windows 10 those seem to be gone now. Hooray!
There’s not much to do lately and it would be nice to have Crown Pavilion up until the expansion arrives. So pretty please anet!
Removing the limit would be nice. If that’s not possible then at least change the random 3-6 gifts/day limit to 5 gifts/day limit! It’s so depressing to get only 3 gifts in oneday.
Found the first Hidden Stash (there’s 4 of them and final chest), love the jp so far.
Nothing dramatic here except I saw TWO Claws of Jormag at the world boss today. Just a graphical bug sadly (I really wanted two of them to fight against!) Here’s the pic.
It’d be nice if we could see the current progress (%) of how much have been downloaded. There’s always this question, is the game fully downloaded yet? I’d like to know without closing and starting up the client again! This value could be shown at the options panel next to the ping value.
