This has probably been brought up quite often, but can we get better female armors? Armors other than the bikini outfits and shameless sexy lolita costumes? I’m assuming GW2 has a decent amount of female gamers, who would like to have armors that do not just appeal to a male audience. I would love to see more functional armor that doesn’t revolve around exposed cleavage, or showing off under garments.
Most armors don’t revolve around cleavage and undergarments. You have no idea what you are talking about.
I spent £49.99 on a game with no trial <: can use whatever words I like.
When you RP does your character have a massive sense of entitlement and bad attitude as well?
Congratulations. Only two things on your list count as true endgame. So how are you going to justify your argument now?
So you’d rather have to wait until 80 to do most of that? GW2 gives you the freedom to play how you want from the start and is less restrictive like other garbage MMOs that have outlived their usefulness. The entire concept of “endgame” is crap, and should be mostly done away with anyway. But of course the stupid WoW fanboys think endgame is a must and that grinding = endgame. They can’t handle a less restrictive MMO so they kitten about there being no endgame. If they want a gear treadmill they should either play fractals or look elsewhere.
I’ve seen this discussed before. Sitting in Divinity’s Reach for example the other day and my wife walks in and suddenly hears the female “uhhhhhhhhhhh uhhhhhhhhhh” over and over again. What a tasteless and embarrassing (not to mention filthy) oversight. FIX IT.
And people “who are not bothered” by it – this post is not for you. It’s for people who may have wives/GF’s who already don’t like our games in the first place and they don’t need another reason to think gamers are pervs.
Wow, what a sense of entitlement. You want Anet to bend over backwards and change something just for you because your wife pwns you and can’t tell the difference between real p0rn and a stretching sound effect stuck on loop.
Honey Badger would be beast
and due to extreme lack of end game content.
Your user name suits you well.
Bring it back! It helped me know what alts to make!
at all? even a little bit?
Reading this forum as a new player, I get the impression that this is one of the worst MMOs on the market.
The mood around here was generally much more positive before Nov 15 and the terrible patch.
I’ve essentially put the game on hold due to the Fractals debacle which killed world PVE and made all other dungeons obsolete. I’ll be back for Winter’s Day but after that… I’m not sure the game is worth investing time in the way it currently is. I won’t be pigeon holed into a gear treadmill. If I wanted that I’d go back to WoW.
What I think people dislike about the Ascended gear is not the gear itself. It’s not even that their Exotics were made “useless”. It’s that people take the addition of the gear as something that implies a future, similar upgrade. But then again, there’s nothing to back that up. There never was anything to back up the contrary, except ANet’s word. And ANet is a company looking to turn a profit, so their word is questionable at best.
There is that but also the way in which Ascended gear is acquired and the possibility that might be required to be able to obtain a future level of higher gear, hence the fear of a gear treadmill. I honestly think that most people wouldn’t have been so upset if the way Ascended gear was added to the game had been done better and hadn’t virtually killed world PVE and made all other dungeons obsolete. That’s my main beef with it and I’m fine with Ascended so long as it doesn’t become a barrier for players to experience new future content or lead to rampant gear elitism like in WoW.
Considering how empty many of the zones are now, my little skritt buddy is the only one I have to keep my Charr warrior company a lot of the time.
Before the Fractals debacle, absolutely! Now… I’m not so sure. I’ll have to see what direction Anet takes the game in first.
What would you do in other MMOs? Run raids? That’s the “reached the max level” for you. Things you can do:
- run different dungeons for fun
- have a new alt
- complete all the jumping puzzles!
- climb fractals to see how high you can go
- WvW to gain lots of badges and then showing off the amount of badges on the map chat (you said it’s not for you, but still)
- PvP reaching for its highest rank.
- full map completion! (close to this on my one character, what a pain in the kitten this is, but it’s fun if you want a goal)
- do different dragons one after the other
- go and farm in level 80 zones while having a pleasant chat with people on the map
- complete your story (if you haven’t done this already)
- max out all professions one after the other
- aim for a legendary
- have a break from the game, play something else until you once again feel the want to play an MMO.There, that’s my full list
There is your answer OP. If you’ve done all that and are still bored then this probably isn’t the game for you. Or maybe you should only come around during special events and/or expansions when they have them.
Agreed, it would really make shopping for armor for skins on the TP a lot easier instead of having to make a purchase then resell if you don’t like it.
That sounds good. Another idea would bet to make the Ascended gear craftable and have different components drop in different maps. This would get the 80’s out of Fractals and playing with the rest of us again. Zones would fill up overnight if this was implemented and maybe we could finally do DE’s again.
Charr. Who doesn’t want to be giant atheist cat?
Vertical progression was not needed to make GW1 fun and keep people playing and it isn’t needed here to make GW2 fun and keep people playing. There are tons of things to do in this huge game world other than grind a single dungeon for max stat gear to inflate your virtual ego.
That being said, I have no problem with vertical progression as long as it isn’t a play barrier for new content or between players (for example, not getting invited into a group due to gear level etc.) What I do have a problem with is when the gear treadmill leads to all PVE being obsolete other than one single “end game” dungeon. I also have a problem with the gear elitism that it creates if certain gear is required for certain scenarios.
What I valued most about the GW games is that it was easy to enjoy the game with others, regardless of level and gear and that there was always fun things to do instead of feeling obligated to hop on a gear treadmill for fear of being left behind. I really hope Anet isn’t going to turn this into another mediocre MMO where you have to grind for the latest greatest gear every 4 months to be on par with your fellow max level players.
There is a really easy (and really obvious) fix for this. Make Ascended gear craftable and have different components drop in different maps/dungeons. This will get the 80 back out in to world PVE and help the lowbies with DE. It will also make the older dungeons relevant again. If Anet did this you’d see zones filling up again practically overnight.
If Anet won’t remove the sidekick system entirely, then I wish they at least adjust it so that in any map say 20 lvls below you, the downscaling ceases to exit.
That would suck, then we’d have 80’s coming in an roflstomping the Shadow Behemoth and other bosses and events that are supposed to be challenging. Yeah, the down scaling does make you feel weaker, but overall it is more of a positive thing than a negative. Personally, I don’t need to feel like some uber powerful guy romping through the newbie zones to boost my ego anyway.
I’m one of the ones just sort of holding out to see what’s going to happen. If this was a pay to play MMO I would cancel my membership temporarily until it becomes clear if Anet is really going to iron out this Fractals mess and not descend into mediocrity that caters to those who want a gear treadmill. No point in investing any more time right now since the future of this game is unclear.
I’ll show up for the Winters Day thing, but that’s about all I have planned for the foreseeable future.
