Too overpowered. Especially since they can be placed in unavoidable spots and the fact that who’s in first will get them every time they get an offensive power up bag.
Yeah, I hate when I’m jumping using the #3 mechanic and it doesn’t even take me to the destination, it just dumps me in the water. Tons of lag when I use #2 sometimes too.

Just put that in the background.
Sky Pirates was the first Living Story that I didn’t get all the Achievements and I didn’t have an OCD freakout session over it. It’s just a game.
Not every story arc needs to change the face of the planet. I’m sure there will be some more like that at certain points though.
Maybe, but knowing how to follow directions and be a competent player in general is more important than being a true 80. I beat AR with my bro who was using a 41 necro and he out preformed most of the 80’s we grouped with simply because he would follow directions and learn the dungeon mechanics.
Most of you are missing the point of the diagram, I’m guessing you didn’t even look at it. OP is saying AR is fine but NOT as limited story content. And also, no one is impressed if you think it is easy but go ahead and break your arm patting yourselves on the back if it makes you feel better.
No the dungeon is fine. The more I do it the more I feel it’s fine. Just make sure you have 1-2 guardians.
Yeah, just let me pull two guardians out of my kitten when I need them.
For most people AR is pretty hard, when I finally managed to complete it there must have been 10+ people to come and go in the group, giving up due to its difficulty.
Anet could remedy this problem by releasing story dungeons with average difficulty, like Molten Facility, then make it so a Hard Mode difficulty unlocks after you beat it once. This would please the casuals, hardcores and everyone in between.
I played it with PUG + one guild mate everytime. There was not a single time we didn’t finish it. I did it around 10 times. If you cannot master this dung I suggest you wach some video guide on youtube. It’s just 1 running around fight and 1 boss fight with some killing trash in between.
If you are from EU server I can help you with it if you want.
Well gratz on lucking out and getting a good team from the start. Not everyone is so fortunate. Took me and my brother 8 hours before we had a team that could follow instructions and take down Mai. Most PUGs simply aren’t coordinated or obedient for this content. With content this hard all it takes is one doofus running around doing his own thing and the entire party is screwed.
I just wanted to quickly point out what bs it is that some people have a bias against non 80s in dungeons, particularly these story dungeons that scale you up. Tonight I beat AR with my brother who was running a 41 Necro and he out preformed more than half the 80s we PUGed with, often times being the last one standing in the two boss encounters.
He’s no gaming god, the point I’m trying to make is that the scaling system works and I’d much rather have a competent 30 or 40 on my team than an unskilled, incompetent 80.
Also, being able to follow directions and preform mechanics is half the battle, and level has nothing to do with that. I’d much rather have a 30 or 40 who can follow directions and not lead Horik’s kitten cannon barrage right on top of me when we’re doing the corner strategy than 80s who run around like chickens with their heads cut off and get us all killed.
So yeah, don’t judge people based on their level; judge them based on their skill, willingness to be a team player, ability to follow directions, and overall level of competence.
I agree. Beat it with a PUG after 8 hours of game play and multiple people quitting. It really took forever to find people good enough to get this thing done.
If this were permanent content, I’d have no problem with it. But making this a major part of the story arc and putting a time limit on it, combined with ultra-hard achievements is a bit much.
I like challenging content but I can tell there are going to be a lot of people who can’t complete this due to lack of skill or simple lack of patience/time to get good at it.
And the fact that it’s so hard is leading to people not wanting to do it again after beating it or getting the achievements. Personally, I’d rather light myself on fire than spend 8 hours on a single dungeon again.
Finally beat it thanks to having a solid team and using the corner strategy on the barrage phase.
I got to give Kiel a pat on the back. In AR she actually started rezzing us when we were downed by trash mobs and prevented us from wiping. It was like kittening Halie’s Commit seeing an NPC make himself/herself useful like that.
Yeah blood effects require a higher rating. Honestly they don’t add anything to the game and they often look more like a cheap visual effect rather than something convincing. I much prefer it without.
BS, in WoW when you use skills like garrote or rupture blood spews all over the place. This isn’t the 90’s where a few blood splatters earns a game a M rating.
The only thing that really bugs me is the 2 week time limit combined with the hard achievements. That makes this whole thing seem much more stressful than it really should be.
Can I get a reinvite? The invite was on there now it isn’t showing up.
Good idea, sign me up.
First two phases are challenging and fun. The last phase…
Yay for the new armor. I’m all for price in gems, but I won’t buy it simply cos I don’t want the whole set – I want only gloves. Thanks anet, no armor for me, no money for u.
It’s only $10, go was your neighbors car or mow their grass kid.
Do not expect an enemy that has understandable motives, has a good moral and can be liked.
You mean like Canach?
Yeah, getting to the queen was harder than the queen herself…
One of our goals in using existing characters in Living World content is to strengthen connections to the player. We intended to include a conversation option for players who spent time with Lord Faren in the Personal Story, but this fell off the radar as the release neared completion. It’s on my list of things to watch out for when we’re developing upcoming releases. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
It’s really that hard to put in a dialogue option? Couldn’t you have just got Billy the intern to do it or something?
Finally got it when I got into a group that was just farming achievements and not actually playing the game. :P
If they’re attached to you, you can get them off by rolling
I hated crab toss at first but it grew on me and now I like it.
This mentality of GW2 players that everything should be given to them with no effort on their part needs to stop. Seriously Anet, do not cater anymore to these guys or before you know it your game will be nothing short of a fancy cow clicker.
If you want to get the achivement learn to play the friken game:

I agree in this situation, but the flip side to that are the elitists who can’t enjoy a piece of gear or content unless others are excluded from it. Like the ones who got upset over Rox’s quiver because they didn’t want just anyone to have a quiver.
I bought Rox’s quiver. Would have bought a few fused items and a few of these new skins too if they were direct sale. I’ll NEVER spend money on RNG though.
I got this achievement, the little thing even popped up saying I did, but when I checked my achievement list it wasn’t there!
I’d pay a flat fee for the new skins. Wasting money gambling for them is stupid though.
They look pretty cool but I won’t be spending $$$ on keys and chests to get them.
If I’m going to gamble real money it’s going to be for real money, not virtual skins. I’ll never spend $$$ on keys or chests, I don’t care what’s in them.
Awesome, thanks bro!
Glad my best bro Faren’s is back. Now I just need my Charr legion-mates boozing it up on the beach too.
I hate elitists who feel the need to exclude others from having cool gear just so their fragile egos can be stroked a bit.
Just have to ask… Can you picture a Charr in a speedo? Cuz I can’t and don’t really want to (horrifying mental image that I’d like to avoid).
Wouldn’t be as ridiculous as a female charr in a bikini. Hopefully they’ll get to wear the speedo skin like the males.
Hell yeah, I want to be a charr cub, that would be awesome!
And all the people saying this is creepy? Was it creepy to play as kid Link in those Zelda games? Was it creepy to play as that kid in Earth Bound? Was it creepy to play as that little kitten in Kingdom Hearts? If you automatically think kids = sexualization, then you’re the one who needs to visit a shrink, not the rest of us normal gamers.
Bring back Cantha! Make the entire continent one huge tight corridor multi-level maze. Like some demented M.C. Eshcher painting!
I agree with all of Treadstone’s points. This used to be fun. Now it feels like a chore. Bad. Bad bad bad….
I agree, feels like a chore now. Also, dodge daily is total crap. You have to be so incredibly precise with your timing to trigger it. And crafting daily is pointless, I just log in to my Elementalist, craft 10 copper ingots and that’s it. Just another chore.
You get to use a whip to make cows go back in their pen in a DE in Ebonhawk. It’s cool.
Whips for Necro/elem/thief//ranger
Yeah, they should add whips. You can already use one in that event in Ebonhawk where you whip the cows and it looks kitten.
Great, now they’ll nerf it, way to go hotshot. lol, just kidding, thanks for the info.
Report them to Anet and say they called you a racial slur.
That would be awesome
Hey OP, remember that time when Anet came to your house, put a gun to your head, and forced you to play a D/D ele instead of using a staff like you enjoyed? No? Me neither.
This game is pure grind, I think what you mean is the lack of rewards for grinding kills this game for you.
lol, not it’s not.
Yeah that would be cool.
I saw one suggestion about the Skritt being a playable race that was awesome – you would control three skritt. They would move in a mob, so as to keep the skritt mob mentality.
Not sure how that would work in the personal story, but it would be fun!
That would be really awesome.
It would be kind of weird to figure out how armor would work though, having to buy three separate outfits would be annoying at 80
Lethanyr Wurmbane is a great norn name. I guess you made your legend killing frostwurms?
My norn’s name is Svenja Soulblaze; guardian specializing in mystical fire attacks.
I hate it. Trying to make a female norn who’s a teenager (height all the way down) and the voice just ruins it.
