Sorry, i was not really clear. Yes i like WvW, and true you dont have to be well skilled to play WvW. I meant GvG above there, if u think on GvG you can just spam your skills, you didnt played it….
I did play GvG. I was in Good Artist [ei] and Rebel Rising [rawr]. If you “think on gvg” in gw2, you clearly didn’t play real GvG.

I am really loving the discussion going on in this thread. This is a testament to how awesome our community is! Alright so now that we have flushed out some ideas let me give you some guide lines and let me know if we can design around it.
1. Must be able to be hot join-able
* Not easily griefed and allow players to be able to jump in and out
2. Must fit the 5 on 5 standard
3. Can fit our standard PvP match time (15 mins)
4. (Would Be Nice) Shout castable
Alright let me know how your ideas fit or change with these standards.
I think your approach is the opposite of what the community wants.
We need to establish a competitive environment
as well as making new players enjoy pvp.
We can only bind people to a new game mode if it has actual ,,depth’’.
If we make the game mode hotjoinable
we spread out the community over hundreds of servers
and will never evolve a solid core tht attracts other people.
The majority, at least I have this appreciation after reading the forums for past 2 years,
wishes to have a non capture point game mode based on small scale fights like 3vs3 in spvp or large scale fights (Guild vs Guild) in WvW. So why don’t we just hand it to them?
Don’t base your game around the 5vs5 standart.
The 2vs2 or 3vs3 ESL Tournements are way more exciting to watch.
At least this time we won’t see a feature match between aion players at gamescom.
Still, I would have appreciated a qualifier instead of emailing the top end of the leaderboard if they like to participate or not.
I hope the ready up today evening doesn’t only cover how people will be elected, but also how they solve matchmaking and how they gonna implement important features
like a report afk or a simple resign function two years after the gw2 release.
Condition takes time to build up its potential
while burst has the higher average from the start.
So the longer the boss fight takes on a solo the more conditions shine.
We know since beta zerk dps ~ condi dps but
a)condition specs maintain 25 bleed on their own,
so a second condition spec is rendered useless.
b)even zerk groups maintain a lot of bleed due to traits bein located how they r
(mesmer/warrior/…)
c) the unbuffed bleed stacks get buffed with 25might to shine
d) till u manage 25 bleed on a trash mob he s dead alrdy
e) 10% multipliers + vulnerability stacks of a full party outweigthn any condi spec

I feel stupid placing 9 bombes in a pipe after receiving some endless stealth without any resistance. If there would be at least some interesting mechanic which actually would require some coordination but like this I’m sorry boyz and girlz.

While I appreciate the removal of the clown car or the fix of the camera on the grawl shaman encounter,…having such visible effects on rabsovich and such an easy and stupidious way to deal with the bomb path is just too much. I feel bad bc if i want to do fractals lvl 1 I go there.
Let’s assume anyone absent from a match for ‘x’ minutes is considered a disconnect and given dishonor regardless of whether they return. What happens to the 9 other people? Are they forced to play out the rest of the match? Should their ratings be adjust still? What about rewards?
Make the win count for the winning team and the lose for the one with disconnect, but don’t affect the other 4 people! Also have an ingame vote system if someone activly sabotages the game like jumping around the spawn.
Well if you plan on lupicus and speedrunning I’d go with scholar and some assassin pieces. If u plan on high lvl fractals and have to pug a lot go with ranger runes and zerk equip. Difference might be how to obtain 100% critchance for reflects and if it s possible to stay over 90% hp or not.
Might be because no one runs lyssa runes anymore cause condidmg is non existent.
Since thrs no need for condihate cuzz no one plays condis a necro who joins last so u can t adjust at the start of the game seems like a legit response.
I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who caught me up ingame and joined our community! We got a nice mixture of fresh air as well as old fellows returning.
When I made this thread we were at the 10th position and it wasn’t sure if we were able to make it into gold league nor if we do good. Everyone tried his best and people stayed up till 4 in the morning just to get the last points to get into the golden bracket.
Now the tournement closely comes to an end and people still stay up till 4 in the morning and try their best. We get double teamed left and right for the last 3 weeks while the focus on the last reset night for both servers was 80% deso, we don’t lose fighting spirit. We are actually tied for the 2nd place!
So what I want is to say
Thank you community! First off for the good communication and integration inbetween the server and secondly for every individual showing his dedication and pulling on the same rope giving his best for the server.

(Even though the season is ending soon, we like to establish desolation as a strong WvW server, so there is still room for nice fellows and guilds especially for the early morning hours!)

Maybe it’s like chess but destroying our walls and move out to let a different server cap is not my type of sportsmanship.
Scenario: Closedefender sees 4 enemies and 3 teammates mid.
Closedefender makes mid an equal fight. Thief counts the persons in combat.
Notices enemies close should be free and moves out of the stalled midfight.
Closedefender sees it exactly whn the thief starts moving but reaches close only after the decap and gets trolled for life.

Solution a) AFK on close and lose the midfight
Solution b) get ur own thief
Currently I’m min/maxing my guardian for WvW and I found a new stat combination called ,,zealot’’ (power/prec/heal).
gw2skills.net states it’s available for exotics (armor/wpn/trinkets) as well as ascended trinkets, sadly I can find thm only on ascended armor and wpns with this stat combination.
So are those items ingame available or is the site just wrong?

My impression is that people are torn on the issue since almost no one agrees on how it should be handled.
Personally I think there should be qualifying matches that allow all teams the ability to make it to the final 16/32.
I agree with you but former teams shouldn t have a saved slot.

I think everyone knows that Nary Why Irk is a skyhammer farmer already who wants to be rewarded for jumping down into a hole after spamming AoE a thousand times in a row.
He should actually be banned for a few weeks and have his rank reset to 1 for admitting to match manipulation.
gw2scores says u v neva been in top 200 teamq and have played around 2k less tournements in total thn the average lvl r60+ who played team/soloq only, thts weird tho. At least i agree you should be rewarded for your time spent. How about introducing a title called cliffjumper for all the people who spent their entire life thr?

If you change finishers or create new ones and so on you achieve nothing in spite of continuing with the old system. People still get excluded for lacking experience or rank and players new to the game still have this infinite amount of time achieving an unreachable goal. We should concentrate on a new system of titles, since a champion title takes less thn a lvl up nowadays. I’d suggest a system which rewards team and soloq aswell as being a skilled player, so it actually shows your level and not how much time you have to grind. My suggestion would be getting 1 fame point per win in the top 200 of the leaderboard (can be eather solo or teamq) and new titles like rabbit of the arena (25wins) dragon of the arena (10 000wins). Those could be also applied retroactively for all the people who played on a high skill cap till now.
I always check my partys/enemy teams stats to see how matchmaking works.
I can savely say the range of pl getting together can vary from 100-900 even in prime time. There are matches everyone is in the top 200 which are quite enjoyable where everyone knows each other but those are rarer. Mostly you wait around 5min and get a team with rank spread over the whole leaderboard which results in a totally unpredictable outcome in which newcomers and advanced players clash with each other and expect the same experience.
The rune set just reads like i m op and there is no way for you to touch me.

I like this new route of development
Skyhammer was there for months, I know a lot of top players who also spent a reasonable time there. Asking a top 30 player how he was able to stand this monotanous task over and over again getting his phoenix he recommended me watching some tv episodes.
Note: The rank buff to team and soloq just happened recently otherwise no one skilled would have ever considered going this route. Rankpoints weren’t even added retroactively. Anyway I only see the same 5 people complaining over and over again so I don’t see the point in further discussion.
