I’m a little bummed I couldn’t do this. I’m rank 40 as I haven’t done much other than pvp since launch but I’ve never been on a team and I doubt I’m ‘pro’. I work two jobs and my children are at ages where they still want my attention. This would have been a nice opportunity to have the experience. 26th is my bday so I had that card to play ;-)

Gibbly may help us out by moving into the commentator side of the tournament and the very scary Zombify will be there to punish you for your mistakes bwahaah! I am kidding Zomb is a great guy, and really wants to coach this time :P.

The condition removal on burst was precluded with hints towards grandmaster traits.

If that’s true, it’s a 30 pt trait thats going to define our burst condi removal. This could potentially just throw us into one build once again.

Holy cow, with your new condition will we see the profession tournament thieves run condition damage. Several of the teams are already full. Don’t fall behind let’s get rolling!

Confusion plus Torment = I can’t move or attack while you kill me. Woohoo! Not to mention if you are running with a guardian who throws up retal!

This was the first online esports tournament ive been in that I had very poor communication from the organisers and had no clue what was going on. We were just thrown into games without really knowing how it was going to happen, who we were supposed to be talking to and when we were playing. Also the lack of coaches and people signed up to various teams was an organisation failure. We had no distinct leader to sort out each team properly. We all just signed up to play, not to organise.

Despite the problems it was fun and i think we learnt exactly what not to do in a profession tourny. Looking forward to a future tourny once necro’s are a bit more balanced. And hopefully you guys learned a few lessons about running an online tournament.

ps. One suggestion i have for a future event is make sure each team has a leader that can manage the team and create a lineup themselves. They have to be motivated to bring a team together and sort everything out. Just asking 5 pugs to randomly form a team only works if one of those members is happy to fill that role. Its unfair on the teams that dont get a player like that as you cant guarantee any real organisational leadership.

When no one shows up on time, and the coaches cancel out at the last minute. You have to survive somehow. All the planning we did couldn’t account for the fact that multiple people did not show and the coaches could not come. I am sorry your experience wasnt’ what you hoped it would be, but it was the first EU tournament we held. I did not expect the level of no-shows, or the sheer difficulty of getting players to coach for it.

I just saw this thread while at work and was considering entering on my engi, til i found out we are too “Pro” for this amateur tournament, being rank 42 and all…

rofl, yeah. I volunteered anyway because there wasn’t many entries, but looks like they’ll get it covered. It’s probably better that way, though. It wouldn’t be much fun for us

Next month we are having a rank 30 plus version of it for all of the high ranked players to face off!

Starting Squad is set, check in with your captain and make sure to get together this week to get to know each other.

I am a bit displeased with this event as a whole… I never met some of the people i played with before, and 3 of them were under rank 15… which would make you sort of a beginner…

We got teamed up against mostly rank 35s and 1 rank 40… which was against the rules in the first place. If i knew it would be like that i would have gotten Blood, Nash and Shiva in my team… but i didn’t, since they are higher then lvl 35.

I don’t mind… but putting commoners in the same arena as gladiators proves nothing… and if it does prove something to someone, sureee… buff necromancers… buff them now, buff them tomorrow buff buff buff.

The rule was you had to be rank 35 when you signed up. One guy signed up as a rank 33 a month ago, he had a month to get to rank 40. This was not our intention, but sometimes these things happen. We had a lot of players no show at the beginning.

Just because you haven’t met someone doesn’t make this our issue. The fact that we had to go and find two Necros 30 minutes before the event because the people who signed up didn’t show up is the problem. If people would sign up and show up that would be the best option.

Or you could have gotten the group together ahead of time and met with them to make sure they learn. Only 1 guy had players that were brought in at 37 and that was for the second game with the rangers, and they forced those guys to play as power builds.

There were so many no shows, that we had to start a half an hour later than we wanted to. In the end, it was a good tournament, with a fantastic shoutcast, and a great chat log. I understand your frustration, but the fact is that things had to be done on a moments notice in fact the thieves wen tfrom a great matchup to facing the worst possible matchup because of no-shows.
