The latest episode from ATTK is out, we had a lot of fun recording it live for the 1st time ever, thought we recorded 2h worth of it… I guess that’s what you get when you put 3 Rangers together
Topic for the podcast was FOTM and the Ranger, and we managed(with the help of our guest: Lunchbox) to cover 3 of the 9 fractal instances (Underwater, Charr and Volcano, with a little reference to the Dredge). As a first try in the livestream world, we still have a few issues to iron out, but we will be working on those aspects as we get stronger and more experienced in this new format.
Thanks to all that managed to join us on our first live edition. I promise you that more will follow.

June 11th, 2013 – In this week’s episode of Revealed, your fantastic thief podcasters Jumper and Markus Valadir ran a bit late thanks to a fire breaking out in Markus house (I think they heard thieves might get buffed haha). In my opinion, adrenaline should just have basic passive effects like health regen / dmg or condi reduction / whatever tied to it that get stronger the more adrenaline you have build up. Like, think of Adrenal Health as baseline but stronger at higher levels of adrenaline.

This would fit thematically as you’d expect a warrior to become a bigger threat the more “fired up” he is. Use of burst skills would became more interesting: do you use your burst and risk a glorious death or sacrifice damage and control in favor of keeping your self alive.

It would be a less complicated and an easier to balance improvement than say, extra burst skills. It could also add to build variety since traits and utility skills that buff adrenaline gain would actually become worthwhile.

Actually it would be ridiculously overpowered and boring to play. Passive skills that scale based on adrenaline are boring and are not skill based at all. You could essentially keep up permanent skills since adrenaline is so easy to build. You need to have an active skills to keep the class from being beaten silly. This is why I really like two burst skills.

I also like the idea of changing physcal skills and/or stances to have a small effect that builds adrenaline.

I think Brawn should reduce the CD of Burst skills for each point spent in it sort of like the Elementalist tree. It would make it a more active skill decision now. It would help builds that want to spend adrenaline.

Good Evening, ladies and gentleman of the Ranger world!!! SOAC is having a podcast contest.

Prize: Appearance on the Arrow to the Knee Podcast and your stream featured on our twitch.tv channel.

Contest: To build a Back Point Peeler for tpvp that rivals the Elementalist. The goal of the build is to be a highly mobile build that can put out a bit of pressure and peel off a necro or thief and then get back to the back point and hold it for a bit of time.

Rules: All builds and weapon skills need to be submitted by Sat June 22nd. All builds must have a build and a written explanation of how it works. This is for tournament play, so the build must be viable in tournament play. You will need to provide either a written or video guide.

Winners: The builds will be tested by Jin drake, Battosai, Myself, and a few others to see their viability. The winner will then be chosen at the end of the month.

I thought it was a pretty good ideia myself, thank you.
And yet, the plot thickens… The Spirit Ranger lives! And by the looks of it, he might actually stand his own ground, renewing faith in a more team supportive build for the profession. The cast takes a rundown of how they see the Ranger and some of his main assets, touching base on several points of interest (i.e. good team compositions for the ranger, role/map/strategy analysis per build, survivability tips, and even some general pvp need to know basics).

A long time ago i put on the suggestions that weapons should have a defensive adrenaline skill in F2 that will change depending on the weapon you have equiped, that will improve the gameplay a lot and survivality, in F3 and F4 it will be great to have some fixed skills like the shatters of the mesmer, because right now like everyone said, you dont have many ways to expend adrenaline, and sometimes its better to not expend it for the bonus that you gain for having 3 bars full, but other times it refills to quickly and you have your 2 F1 skills in cd.

We don’t need anymore classes to have f1-4 abilities, we are talking about simply having the option between using one or a second ability to use your adrenaline

Yeah my fault guys. I’ll have the next one up in the next day or so. Next week’s Consecrated should be on time as well. I was out of town recently and riding in a car 10 hours each way made it impossible to secure the show on time. So it came down to it being my fault for not pre-recording it, sorry.

haha, those videos are ones players donate to be linked to. They are not anyone from SOAC or the hosts of the show. WE are in need of players to donate pve, wvwvw, and pvp guides and videos for warriors.

We had a lot of fun today. I really loved the idea of Burst skills being both offensive and defensive. So you have some options as to what you want to do.

Nice episode, but wow—turrets were thrown under the bus faster than a Thief can hit his #2 key.

Unfortunately at the level that Ostrich is currently playing at Turrets are a disaster waiting to happen. I know that Zombify from SOAC loves pets and things like that as it allows you to spread epidemic and even funnier is watchign turrets target clones and pets over people.

Just so you guy are aware, this has been the case with every other class weapon skill that works like your bounce for quite sometime. The Mesmer’s were an exception to the rule, and speaking from the rest of the community welcome to our world. It’s not a big deal, as every other class has been working under the assumption that this was normal.
