did tests in the mist and even at melee range where the 1st long bow skill does it’s lowest dmg the difference in the time for killing the target is around 2-3 seconds max
if they change something it has to be a tiny bit
If i have time to react and swap to greatsword on time i have chance to escape thief
first counterstrike for knockback and then charge away with swoop swap back to long bow knock back again if need + rapid fire combined with quickness if the thief is made for max dmg and doesnt rly care for the hp/armor they get melted rly fast
First of all it’s rly stupid that it have limited range when it affects only the first shot when we enter combat. We are rangers we shoot arrows far away hello ?
2nd even at closer range it does not apply the condition always just did some tests and once per 3-4 shots it doesn’t trigger the effect.
made a thief to try the ele exploit and had the same toughness but guess what
i could do a lot more dmg
Dynamite – hounds die easier but they do alot more dmg for short time also when they jump the aoe dmg is more than i can do which is enogh for me to solo a lot of things
Hounds are my “oh sht” button
i agree that we are good support but thats all
just tryed the exploit and as complete thief noob i could do 2 times more dmg and actually kill some players w/o help but somehow i dont like the thief build for my ele so i went back to my “run away and wait for help build”
yeah i did 2-3 runs and then quited the group coz i dont rly liked the way do it
they pick warden w/e path run to bosses the one with the hammer and the archer
they jump at high place which somehow but not always bugs the hammer one and he can’t kill em then we go trought some short cut via jumping to dont rly know what boss and theres another bugg on small rock or something on the ground where the boss can’t hit us which makes 2 chests done in like 5 min.
Oh and forgot to say that before first 2 bosses if needed they used aoe stealth to lose agro and avoid killing trash mobs which ofc is waste of time…
The main problem is in that if we want to do better DMG still lower compared to most if not all classes we have to be one shot targets
If we want to survive longer we have to lower our not so good DPS
I still like my ele tryed other classes but i dont like any
We are not so bad but also we are not good enough so a small buff will be nice
we also need change to some of our abilities because they are too slow for the low dmg they provide and can be avoided by just runing eg dragon tooth ice spike etc
Earth’s embrace trait does not activate at 50% as it is in the tooltip but on about 30~35%
Raid the ligthing should grant control immunity while it last and to break stun/root (slow ?) u can add 5 sec longer CD to be more balanced
The renewal glyph does not revive most of the time and is waste of utility skill slot also when it doesnt work the longer CD prevent it from beign swaped to something usefull
Arc ligthing should get interrupted on target swap or when the target is dead this may cause big delay before we can start dealing dmg to the next target which can lead to our dead
Abilities such as ice spike should form while casting not to cast and then wait for the spike to form and hit the ground because this way it hits double the time it should
either isntant cast but delay before impact or impact after the cast time is finished
The only usefull elite skill that i have is Hounds of Balthazaar and it’s because im human
sadly it doesnt work for SPvP
You know Mesmer can use their portal skills to a similar effect to make the jumping puzzles simpler for other classes and themselves. Don’t see why we can’t have one.

not for dungeons since i go moslty with guild mates but for spvp its rly rly rare someone to ask for ele
we are not underpowered we just crit for 2-3k max with slow cast spells while warriors crit over 10k for eg sounds fair since we got 5-6k less hp and ofc paper armor
Our attunment swaping is actuallly less effective than swap between 2 weapons only
i would love to see out of combat swap atleast or if we get combat one to be with atleast 1 min Cooldown like most of our abilites half of wich are usless

I agree with op we need to switch attumnents often but there are very few traits that benefit all elements in some way
heres the problem i got hit for 7k dmg by thief and that was a single hit
combine the hight dmg with teleports and vanish every few seconds..
warriors with heavy armor and good amount of hp can deal over 10k dmg with 2h sword
Necros got their 2nd hp bar they are more tanky and got pets that can help a bit
Mesmers got some vanish and annoying illusions
what eles do is barely reaching 3k dmg on targets with lowered armor with slow casting spells also we have some crapy 5 sec shields that doesnt rly work
and the tools that can help us to survive a lil longer are with over 1 min cooldowns
I know that it is early to do balances but eles needs to do a lot more dmg
Rift got it right Pyromancer build for mages got very high dmg but was easy to be killed
in GW2 we are easy to be killed unless we run away on time like chickens and at the same time our dmg is not high enough

1 we need slight buff
we are squishiest class and yet it seems like we dont do more dps compared to others
some of the staff abilities needs a lil bit more dmg slow casting spells should be more powerfull
scepter heals are weak compared to staff but have the same Cooldown either few seconds faster reload or a lil bit more healing
i don’t use dagger so i cant rly comment on this one
I dont want to be overpowered so they need to touch eles just a lil bit

Eles are best in combo with another player coz we are a bit squishy but with the correct weapon set and build we are rly deadly.. i love my ele and won’t change it
somehow i dont like the other classes enough
if u’r bad it doesnt rly matter what class u’r going to play so pls
Eles might not be the best but if u know what to do they can be very effective
We need weapon swap same as engineers i think but only out of combat
our weapon swap are the 4 elements but we do need weapon swap ill say it again out of combat…
I use Scepter+dagger and staff for better support abilities and i swap em based on what i need but here comes the problem i need to open my inventory or character window and to swap weapons manualy Not a big deal but the other problem is that when my weapons are into inventory theres chance to salvage them by mistake
