agree about the immortal spirits etc and i dont want some huge buff that will make us overpowered i just want things like pets to be fixed and some of our abilities to be improved so they can be effective
let’s get spider pet for eg
activation time of the main attack (spit) 1s
it is projectile so it takes even more before it hit the target
if the target moves 2 steps away it is out of range = no hit = usless
a little bird got 2k vitality while a big cat 1.3k only great logic imo
it is the bird who must have the less hp and be more evasive since it fly
the pet got low enough armor so the lil bit more hp wont make it too strong
you know why ? because even my bear can die fast if a player decide to kill it or if it gets hit 2-3 times max in dungeon by aoe or something ofc i won’t waste heal for it because in the next second i might be the one who need it
atm the best way to use pet is on passive so i can get 5% dmg from the ranger runes
anyway i’ll wait for patch in the future that will actually fix some of our main problems
play a warrior problem solved
if not use LB for better distance
with all the talk what is coming and the don’t know how many suggestions about pets and what not this patch is kind of insult for all the rangers

it is true that ranged pet can live a lil longer but they are not rly better
they do much much less dmg and the only usefull thing for eg spiders is that they can immobilise 1-2 times per hour because it misses most of the time
truth is that the pets are good only for fights with max 4-5 players because of less aoe
and because they get focused less
usual pets are the first targets when i press “Tab”
yeah i have trouble with them also
last time i was into fight with one droped his hp and puff invisible with 10 clones around
not impossible to kill em but it’s hard 1v1

most of the time when i lose it is because my enemy gets help

btw what exactly the SS i showing ?
some classes doesnt even have finishers with one or another weapon but only fields
or they are with longer CD while all our attacks can trigger the finisher effect and they do it a lot also for some fields the chance is 100%
i dont see where the problem with the 20% is
i like my ranger now so even a small change will be welcome
learn how to be better if u struggle at everything and ull be even better if we get a buff
swaping classes won’t help
There are group events that can be done solo
the big one like for eg. the shatterer ends way too fast and it’s not real chalange
the pre event takes more time than the killing itself
some boost of the HP or even dmg a lil will be good imo
or change the mechanic of the event in some way
don’t think so because there is max speed so the pet will move faster only if the player does not have swiftness which is wrong because the pet can’’t hit at all this way
about the 2nd Q im sure that u will take some heavy hits but u need to test it first
play with it for a while and see if u need it or not
this vid makes me happy because i pwn warriors most of the time
in pvp is rly hard to make my pet to go back to me with the command unless i put it on passive because when it starts runing back to me some random aoe hit and it goes back into the fight where thanks to the great vitality armor etc it dies in less than one second
whats the point of doing so i mean why should i sell something in TP and get less
plus the wait till it is buyed when i can sell in vendor for better profit ?
it’s same for all ranged attack but think we suffer the most
anyway as far as i know they are aware of the problem and are looking into it
or to make bags pickable from wider ranger around them

i agree that bags are lil messy and most of the time during fight i run around so it’s not easy to pick em or to even notice when they drop
badge drop rate is not so bad
go in dungeon and tell me how fast ur bear will die from single mob
not sure if posted but i have noticed that the downed skill 3 which calls the pet to revive does not work often pet just comes next to me and sits doing nothing
also the blue moa protection is like 4-5s max while tooltip says 10s

if u do ur story quest + some events + 100% of the zone ur level will be fine for the next zone and so on
the game is very easy when it comes to leveling
Im Longbow user so pet do much less compared to my dmg but i guess you are right
pets should add a lil bit not to be half of our dmg since they are dead all the time
I swaped my elementalist for ranger and i wont change my ranger because i like it

Pets are basically a projectile with 100% uptime.
Like any projectile they can be dodged with simple movement and the name of the game when landing them is altering the movement speed of a foe. I’m not saying things aren’t just a bit to the left of comfortable, but the basic idea seems intentional and rational.Yeah, that means a pet will hit less often in PvP than does it PvE, but that’s true of all Projectiles.
pet attack is slow so their dmg will be ok even if they are immortal
and no it is not 100% uptime because pets are dead constanly which means no dmg
also noone says that if u dodge the pet should still hit
pets need atleast 5% more speed than players because they only run after someone doing nothing
Haven’t had this happen to me yet, but I personally feel pretty iffy about accepting rangers to a dungeon group. They bring nothing to the table beyond ok DPS. More than one ranger in a group is liable end up in group collapsing under pressure due to lack of support skills.
And yes, I am also leveling alt right now
i can say the same for any other class
Remove it from the game not only spvp 2 seconds fights are not fun
i think the key drop will always be low because the gap between chest drops and key drops are /meant/ to push us to use the cash shop to buy keys.
Remember, this game has no monthly sub. For devs to keep working on a game, they need to keep getting paid in some way.. so, people using the cash shop helps balance out not having a subscription fee, i think!
i doubt they will up the drop rate for keys…. nor do i really think they should either.
BLC /do/ have keys inside of them sometimes. It’s not 50/50, but its often enough so that i’ve gotten several keys from opening other chests.
this also you can get gems by trading gold for them so it is fine the way it is
agree because it kills the idea of downed state which should grant chance of survival
never happened to me
once we were 4 rangers and a thief we melted everything on the way
2 were with SB and 2 with LB was fun
AOE dmg reduction for both pve/pvp why pvp ? coz the pet is always the first target when you press “tab” and it is not needed to aoe it 50% is fine imo
also i think that pets need a lil more armor and hp
atm pets are dead 90% of the time in both pve(p)
ranged one can survive a lil longer but they rarely hit moving targets
melee pets also have some troubles hiting on the move so increase the base speed slightly ?

cripple so ur oponent cant run out of melee range simple as that
also the knocback is 300 only and u can always use leap after that
it can do wonders when a thief try to backstab
it is some kind of bug happens for all ranged attacks no matter what class
TWMagimay@ because my first character was ele and i liked it but when i swaped to another class well it does a lot better and no it is not the thief exploit
thats what i meant if u change to another class u’ll forget that the ele exist
theres is something unfinished about it

The problem is not in that the class is bad the problem is in players
because they use the only thing that they think is the strongest and instead to adapt the only thing they do is to cry when there is change
with LB/GS combo i have troubles mainly with mesmers but who doesn’t
also i can counter thieves often if they dont suprise me using stealth because their burst is great

Actually, this is a false example. For one reason and one reason only, elemenalist’s have a place on the battlefield, their AoE is insane. Rangers aren’t good at anything, want range? roll thief/warrior and that’s the only thing rangers are meant to excel at and they don’t even do that. Friend has an elementalist, while I’m complaining about the lack of DPS I’m doing, he’s loving killing people on castle walls, so yeah no.
if rangers aren’t good at anything than i must be playing a different game
Leogolas ele struggles at killing 4 mobs so if u talk about pvp unless they are afk or complete idiots i dont see how it can happen
Ele can do something only with help other than that it is only runing around not to die
any other class can do better both solo and in group for pvp

ele is good support other than that every other class beats it with 1-2 buttons use only
Just don’t try any other class

also if u read the other posts ull see that pet doesn’t tank even if they dont hit which means high dmg is not the problem…

i don’t care if my pet hits for 10 or 100 because i am the one who actually does the damage but i don’t like my pet to be 1-2 shoted and be dead 90% of the time
atm the only option is ranged (spider or devourer) all other pets die too fast
I like my spider but i also like some of the other pets but can’t use em coz they are usless
it doesnt rly matter if have points in BM or not its about how the pet acts and theres soemthing weird after the last patch
if we dont count the elementalist’s crap elites where hounds are rly great to use
we have good enough elites with about 2 min cd
hounds do good dmg but they can die rly fast so 60 sec less CD will be fine
my bear still tanks but yeah i also noticed that things are different
needs to be looked at
when u take pet out of rotation to try new one the name resets so its annoying and players dont give a F about the names
yeah there are several problems that makes the pets usless
1st they need AOE dmg taken reduction or more HP
2nd pets does not attack from behind and any frontal attack gets them killed
i know that this game is not wow but wow got it right when it comes to pets because my pet could survive the entire fight there while here my pet gets 1-2 shoted
the only pet that can last a lil longer is either devourer or spider because of their range attack or some tanky pet that can survive few hits more
Pets needs to have reduced damage taken when it is from aoe attacks
it’s sad to see my pet geting one shoted every time when some elite does aoe
Longbow auto attack needs to be looked at because for eg. most dungeons doesn’t rly allow us to stay at max distance it hits slow enough so a lil increase in dmg will be fine
Also i agree on the obstructed thing it happens even if i can see my target clear
