Precursors -- Craft or Buy?

At the very moment I am replying, you would save about 100g by crafting it compared to buying it at TP.

That being said, buying it at tp means you don’t have to spend long hours going through the collections. If you use this time to farm instead, then yes, buying it off the TP is a lot cheaper.

Some precursors are a lot cheaper to buy at TP regardless.

Completely agree with this, however I recently finished making Nevermore and personally I quite enjoyed the collections for the story part. That said I did put a lot of time in on farming mats/gold, so I guess it all comes down to how much time/effort/gold you are willing to put into it.

Best places for gliding

BattleRattle.5420

Try gliding from the vista in Ebonhawke, that should give you a good view of the city. Not a long glide in distance, but it looks good.
And as Tekoneiric said, it would be awesome if some places in central Tyria had updrafts too. Not for any achievement or loot, just for those of us who like to goof around with gliders.

Suggestion for long lasting mastery system

BattleRattle.5420

That would be an awesome thing to have. It would really make me feel like I have a reason to go back to some maps I rarely visit anymore if not leveling, and would give a goal to work towards while waiting for season 3.
Besides if pvp and wvw have repeatable tracks why not give the same for us pve people? I get that the loot gotten maybe shouldn’t be too op compared to the other modes, but a dye, a rare drop, etc. would be nice too.

[Suggestion] Backpack 'effect' skins

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

BattleRattle.5420

I was goofing around looking over skins when I stumbled upon the Nightfury shoulder skin (bats flying around you), which I had completely forgotten about, and thought that the concept could be awesome if used on backpacks.
Personally I would never use Nightfury for the one reason that it has no visible shoulder armor, but if the same concept was used on backpacks (which most players already hide anyway, except a few like legendary wings, etc), no armor skin have to be removed to make place for an effect.

Personally I would love – and gladly pay – to have a backpack skin making the same kind of effects as when you are at a contested temple in Orr – thin green mist from the whole body or swirling black mist, and so on and so forth.
The effect skins could come in color variations as it has been seen before, or maybe in the future made dye-able – though it is not possible at the time, one can hope.

(And if this would better fit in another thread I apologize, but i was not able to find one. I won’t talk about the search engine as that has threads of it’s own already.)

Outfits/Armor you want.

BattleRattle.5420

I want medium and light armor that looks more like heavy armor- simple and battle ready. Also some masculine looking, practical female armor would be appreciated. I’m not a fan of the trench coats, dresses, butt capes, and flamboyant glowy back items

Illustrious is about as close as my elementalist can get to looking practical, well protected, simple and ready to kick some butt

Completely agree on the need of more ‘battle mage’ like armor, somewhat in style with the bladed skins (for Charr at least, not sure how it looks on other races).

Please Fix Guild Missions!

BattleRattle.5420

I don’t really see a problem with the missions. Only pvp and puzzle missions have a required number of players, for perfectly fine reasons as other have explained.
Besides the other missions can often be done with very few ppl, heck my guild is very small and we are often only 5 ppl doing missions, we’ve never really had problems, sure we can’t do the puzzles but that’s only one mission we can’t do.

I wouldn’t mind multi loot squads, if all actually had a chance to do it, but alas they only allow the lucky 5-10 per map to be in the squad, the rest of those who helped the maps succeed…
But what really makes me sad, is when the multi loot commanders doesn’t even command. Heck I had one who was afk when tarir started and didn’t say a word. If not someone else had taken over we would have failed north.
Not to mention all the afk’ers who join multi loot and then just stand at the stairs waiting for their free loot. At least make it like the armors, if you don’t move/participate withing a time threshold you’re kicked form the map.

No chance to get back on map after dc

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

BattleRattle.5420

We all know the feeling of being on an awesome map, all is going well and you’re 2 min from getting that sweet loot, and then you dc. If you’re in a squad/party you might be lucky to get back in, but if you’re alone that last hour of work is just wasted.
After this happens several times, it’s no small loss anymore.

I know it would take work to get done, but what i wouldn’t give to have a chance to get back into the map i got dc’ed from. Like after you dc you have 2-5 min to log back on and still have a place on the map.
If any have suggestions to how to get back in after dc, please do share.

A legendary is meant to take time to get, not something you can just make. A legendary is a thing you make to have a long turn goal and to get bragging rights. It’s not like stats or anything are better then ascended anyway.

Where are the capes?

They can make a cape on balthazar’s regalia outfit that looks great – yes also on charr. If they could incorporate something alike to that, it would be awesome.

Now that the WvW requirement has been removed, world completion is simpler.

That and it doesn’t even require any later added maps – dry top, silver wastes and southsun. Personally I see no problem in it being as it is. It fits and it’s not really that hard to do, time consuming yes, but not hard.

Underwater expansion that brings full uw combat overhaul, Steve and destruction of LA.

Now this would actually be awesome. And by the khan-ur I would give my leg to have an in-game npc mention the dragon by the name Steve~

Great idea and a great way to do it. Hope they do it at some point – hopefully sooner then later – for those of us who are less interested in the raid and more interested in the area/story.

Personally I think a lot of the skins are great, but I agree that a new tier would be awesome. Maybe also harder to get other then just the prize, that would make it much more satisfying to get your hands on.

What do you think of Lion's Arch?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

BattleRattle.5420

As the title says, what do you think of Lion’s Arch?

I’m asking out of curiosity, as the redesigned la doesn’t really hit my taste. I started playing GW2 in the middle of season 2, but I even prefer the ruined la over the new one, and I find myself not wanting to leave the story instances where you are in the old la.
The new la is nice, but in my opinion it doesn’t even come close to the old one.

But that of cause is only my personal opinion, so I’m curios to what others think. Is it better or worse, or something else?

Horrible lag/visual issues after last update

in Account & Technical Support

BattleRattle.5420

As the title says, i’m having horrible lag and visual issues after the last update, and i was wondering if others are having the same problem? For me the problems are worst in HoT maps, making it impossible to play them properly.

I am well aware that I am not using the best computer for online gaming, but even if I put all settings on the absolute lowest, it still doesn’t fix it. Before the patch I could have medium settings, with only minor lag/problems in cases like DS or TT.
Other then the lag, whenever i go to a new map or new mobs spawn for an event, it often takes minutes before i can even see it, if i’m lucky i might see the red name/circles, but often i find myself dead to an invisible enemy. Obviously this makes it hard to look for tells, given i can even see them.
The same thing often happen with objects, such as anvils, chest’s in Tarir, etc. At times even walls, buildings, etc. are invisible for a long time, or just disappear out of nowhere.
Another problem i’m having is skill animations (visual and sound) that’s just stuck, like a dh’s wings after using wings of resolve.

So to repeat myself, are others having the same problem or am i just very unlucky??

Cannot see party member's events

BattleRattle.5420

Yes, if I would make a screenshot they would be in it. And yes, It is the orange text not the personal story ones.

It is happening with all events not just specific ones. but seem to be random, sometimes we do participate in the same event, but for me it shows that the event is complete (I get the bronze/silver/gold contribution) and the event does not show anymore but for them it is like at 50% complete or so. It’s like we are out of sync.

It is really strange indeed

It sounds to me like you’re talking about hearts. If you have completed a heart, then you cannot see it anymore yes, and of cause you don’t always finish them at the same time, as it all depends on what you manage to do.
So in that case nothing’s wrong, if it also happens with dynamic events however, I have no clue.

Dyeable underwear?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: BattleRattle.5420

BattleRattle.5420

I have to go with the idea of “Swimsuit” or maybe being able to buy different styles of under garments, some that look like swimsuits, or whatever, for when we use dive platforms, and other events, where we insta-strip.

But I have no hope for being able to dye our under garments, since we can’t even dye our breathers.

I suggested they add Lord Faren’s Maguuma Loincloth to the gemstore as an outfit.

This! This need to happen! Give us Lord Faren’s Loincloth and a /flex and it would be perfect~

I think the f2p is an awesome idea and I really like the way they go about it, however I am sad that as a veteran player, I have already brought HoT which include the core game – so I have basically brought gw2 core game 2 times, and now new players are gonna get it for free ;_;

It would have been better if prepurcasing HoT would not include the core game, and be cheaper as a result, so that you basically would give the same as a new f2p player would give when buying HoT in the future.
