We’re working on getting those current listings displayed again so you can manage outstanding trades. Sorry for the wait.

Handling extremely long histories without losing performance is on our list for possible future improvements.

Then add a show more button for the X% where 200 isn’t enough. Go from 200 to 500 to 1000 to 5000 to all. History of completed transactions to 30 days if not 90 days should satisfy the vast majority of players stuck at a few days due to how mat buys come in a few at a time so a single buy order of 250 could result in up to 250 entries in the bought list.

Assuming sellers then here’s a better way. Up the max price either by altering the value below the quantity slider, simply add gold via the mouse wheel is easiest or click on one of the more expensive buyers. Now the quantity can be raised beyond the 1st seller’s quantity. Before the TP would automatically select the minimum number of sellers to make your purchase happen. Now you have to do that yourself.

Well a jump puzzle with one of the largest potential falls granting you fall protection may also indicate a theory. You get a trait from an event that ties to the trait somehow in concept.

Uncatchable, the caltrop drop on dodge for thieves, is located on the 1st floor in a mini dungeon in a level 58 area. I don’t think I’ve done this mini dungeon before so that would be a new experience. But level 58 for a trait I can slot at 36?

Probably they figured that players would single slot a number of trait lines first and by then, if they’ve been playing the whole game would have several of each adept traits unlocked and can switch to those, etc. Rather than slotting an adept trait with their 2nd trait point.

I’m sure if they start coding now it’ll be out by the time the PS6 and XBox Three hits market.

First it’s not a trivial port.

Second each of those eight cores are extremely low performing and a current top end i7 has problems at stock clocks. Imagine one with 20-30% the CPU power.

Only chance would be to port the game to a 3rd party engine with PS4/XBone/PC support already. And that would also take a large amount of time, even if you can move the art/animation/sound assets over for free (in terms of manpower).

I’m missing something here… You only have to unlock a few of the top traits, right?

You have to unlock every single trait individually, except for Minor traits which still function the same as before.

But you don’t have to unlock all of them, just the ones you want to use. You can’t honestly say that you’ve used all the traits in all the trait lines.

I finally got back to leveling a sub-80 alt. He was made after April but before September. I took him from level 35 to 36 today, got a trait point, and said OK! Time to get my fall damage trait! (That being my first trait choice on every alt ever). He’s a Necro. And apparently the unlock is to do Obsidium Sanctum.

HELL no.

That ain’t happening.

I scanned other traits. The kill-a-single-tough-thing ones were fine for me, the do TA and CM Story look to be simple enough, but 100% map completion of a zone for others? I think my trait selection is going to be dictated by which tasks I can do, not what build I actually want. At least for this alt who mostly exists to test out some PS and systems, not to be a core character.

So while it sounds like levels 1 to 15 aren’t the shambles many claim, later levels may in fact be annoying if I want to test out Necro traits I haven’t used on my two 80 Necros. That’s how I keep alts fresh, I give them different flavors of the profession.

Yeah I know. There are a couple of adept traits for thieves which are similarly heinous. They should have made all the unlocks at the level or below where you can slot that trait. If they thought that trait as too powerful then nerf it or move it to a higher tier. Good thing it’s only 10s and 2 SPs to avoid then. Guess you have to do more SP challenges and not go on a skill buying spree until 80+.

Well some players wanted the game more difficult…

Traits were never free. It used to cost a little over three gold to unlock all of your traits.

However, traits are significantly more expensive than they used to be. It takes much longer now to unlock all of your traits, regardless of what method you use to get them. If you buy traits from the profession trainers, they are significantly more expensive than before. If you try to unlock the traits by doing the tasks, it takes significantly longer than just farming a few gold pre-April and buying traitbooks.

You mean by actually playing the game’s content. But going out and doing that content takes a lot more work now than grinding paths and bosses to level up your alts.

Yes I agree that traits are now more difficult to get. May require more research on a player’s part as to what to go for first. Discourages selecting an adept II skill before selecting/unlocking multiple trait lines so you have time to do the content. Made the skill point price high, especially with the latest changes. Thankfully I’ve been hording my SP scrolls rather than blowing them all at the end of each night but since I also do map completes with alts it’s less of a problem for me.

Way to snip what you want from what I said.

Its not an opinion. The fact is, the reward system is nothing short of rehash and a play on words. There really is no “Reward” from the experience other than gating content that was accessible for 2 years. The “New” experience is an annoyance at best, and an insult at worst.

Read the bold text… its people like you that get me banned from these forums… please open your eyes when your reading next time. It will help.

Read my bold text.

I don’t feel insulted or annoyed by the NPE yet from what little I have played. It has stayed mostly in line with my original leveling experience way back at the start of the game, sans a few pieces here and there.

Also, don’t be insulting. I’ve been polite all through posting this last week despite really feeling like being mean. You can at least do the same.

Your not being polite by snipping quotes and rewording my text in your quotes. That’s insulting much in the same by what the devs have done, by calling this a “Rewarding” experience.

Quote my entire post or don’t quote me at all. Same goes for reading my post. Your problem is you have selective reasoning.

How about you do your part in this poll: http://strawpoll.me/2555336/r

And go find a few hundred other people that agree with you. And only then will you only be able to balance the poll. Sure this is an opinion… but to say that the opinion of a vast majority doesn’t matter, is ignorance at its worst.

He never reworded your text in his quotes from you. Quit being offended over imaginary slights.

And straw polls are worthless because A) they are voluntary; B) because it’s only posted in the forum in not just this thread; C) players who are upset are more likely to vote and then use the results as proof that they are in the right.

its all good to qualify your data, but make no mistake, there is no such thing as perfect surveying or sampling. Proffesional people can try very hard to get accurate statistics, but even then they are expected to qualify the data and present the sources.

Point is, you dont ignore data you dont like, you analyze it. Yes, consider the sources, consider what it represents, but ignoring it is foolish.

assuming everyone has a different opinion from the data you gathered is actually a more poor assumption than even anectdotal evidence.

if you ask 5 girls if they like your shirt, and they all say it sucks.
you shouldnt promise that all girls hate your shirt
at the same time you shouldnt believe that every other girl loves your shirt
however it would be something you should be concerned with, and you may have to assume, perhaps this shirt isnt liked too well, until you can get more information from somewhere else.

point is ignoring feedback because it isnt every ounce of feedback in that exists, is actually a very bad idea.

note as well that in general most of these polls that appear with the same sources, are much more balanced, many people vote who dont actually talk. the fact that that poll was 80% disatisfied with the patch is a huge as far as polls generally go, where an 10% difference is considered a fairly big deal.

But taking the results without such considerations and adjustments but only at face value does make it worthless. Since I hadn’t heard of either of the polls then it’s sampling from only those who knew about it and if it was posted in a negative thread about the changes then it’s highly likely only players who already didn’t like the changes, whether they tried them or not, voted than those who didn’t think they were all that bad.

Most of those items were part of the anniversary sale. Items no longer available returned and ones that were available year round went on sale. The katana was a new weapon skin and quite often weapon skins are available for a short period of time every time they appear and return. Items that leave do have a count down timer usually starting at 7 days and go into an hour/minute/second mode during the last 24 hours, like the bird mini collection that is going away tonight at midnight Pacific coast time.

They worded this as a positive change and if you enjoy gated content then this is the build for you. However I bought the game on what they sold it as.
“Most games [have a] boring grind to get to the fun stuff. We just don’t want players to grind in GW2. Noone enjoys that, noone finds it fun, we want to change the way people view combat.”
To go back on those statements 2 years later and switch it up to what is more appeasing to their Chinese market is beyond me how people will support this practice.

Why gate the content, what is their to gain from gating content other than to create the very thing they are against.

It depends on how you define grind. Leveling isn’t a grind unless it takes 30 hours and 3000 critters to smite between levels. The one to two hours per level here is no where a grind.

Skill slot and weapon slot locking was always part of the game. If it takes the same amount of play time to unlock them now as before, then there is no change in the experience, just a number as to when that happens.

The weapon skill unlocks is a trade off between unlocking all weapons skills at the same time Vs unlocking the skills on the weapon you use. Before if you get a weapon drop of a different type that you would rather use, you had to unlock those skills, now if you have skill slots 2 and 3 unlocked on your original weapon, they are unlocked on this new one automatically. Can’t say which is a better solution to the weapons/skills problem.

In another thread I said that you always felt significantly weaker leveling a new alt simply because you aren’t fully equipped with exotics and your preferred selection of traits. But like the trait change we again have a “fall guy” to point at for that reason instead of our own cloudy memories of what it was like as a true level 8 than a down-leveled 80. We are newbs in swathing clothes rather than Gods who descended from Olympus.

And the combat comment wasn’t about grind but the non-rooting attacks and dodge defense as oppose to the stand your ground and wale on a critter hoping for someone to heal you during combat.

I’m going into a DE, it’s not time to try and level up X when I have Y and Z fully leveled up which is why I went out of my way to level all weapons up ASAP on my next two characters.

In the original GW costumes, what we called outfits, cost $6.99. Outfits cost 700 gems or $8.75. It’s nothing like the ticket skin racket which is the only really costly skins in the game.

well, I just went and spent $8.75 to buy an ceremonial outfit.

The other stuff I want would cost hundreds of dollar. Those money I personally just can’t afford.

You mean keys then because unless you are buying all the armor and outfits or piles of minis there really isn’t anything a player can spend hundreds of dollars on.

A few ascended armor and weapon set, permanent hair license, hallowean chain saw, ghastly shield, legendaries.

Those just arn’t things you can get by spending 10$ a month.

Which aren’t at the Gem Shop but in the player trading post. In which case the GET MORE GOLD ad works. Still requires the player to make the mental leap of buying gems with cash and then converting it to gold to buy something off the TP. Not sure how many can think that many steps ahead.

That poll only counted when only reddit was voting! The larger sample size it now has makes it not count as much! Just ask Vayne! After all, he made the poll, so he would know when the numbers count and don’t count! And clearly, those numbers are only meaningful when it’s a much smaller sample size that only has people from reddit!

It only counts as a poll if the results are perfectly even or if the results are positive towards the feature pack! Just ask Vayne!

I don’t go to reddit, unless it was a link to a funny picture or video from another website I frequent. So again, selective sampling.

We was annoyed to be told by dead players where we gone, so this change is a nice touch on keeping dead people dead. It is the wery same when we go out & play Airsoft, it is not allowed to communicate in any way if you’re out of game. For a good reason.
I really hope you know what I’m speaking about. Right?

It’s always been difficult leveling new characters. Especially if you’ve been running fully equiped Level 80s in the lower zones. Know that group of critters you can one shot? Now with a new appropriate level character even one is a challenge. Coming down off of Olympus has always been a problem with alts. Just now we can point at something and say that’s the reason.

I had a level 80 mesmer and when I started my thief I had a tough time remembering I wasn’t uber anymore. That I was running with whites and blues. Obviously those people who real life money can skip a lot of grind to gain “things” faster.

For example “hey! there is some cool thing in gem store” I’ll just spend 10$ on it. Or you can spend 10 hours farming in game for it.

The most aggravating thing about buying and selling is quantity setting issues. Before there was an automatic mechanism to create a sale order on excess that wasn’t bought by the highest bidder (yes I know it always created a sell order rather than selling first to the high bidder) or automatically select all the sellers to fulfill a buy order regardless of unit price or automatically create a bid if we are buying more units than the lowest seller has. And that’s aggravating.

Lack of a match our current low selling price is annoying.

The limited history is very, very annoying. Especially that large orders come in dribs and drabs and suddenly you only have a day’s worth or less of history.

Identical items use to stack in the TP but now due to the “show by backpack/bag” is now not being done which makes the lack of my lowest price for this item even more annoying. If we don’t select any bag, then collapse the list. And while you are at it, listing the invisible bags on the left is a waste since selecting them will show you nothing, which is the point of them being invisible in the first place. Really, couldn’t filter them out eh?

Filter is great but need to be a bit more sticky. It’s a bit annoying that switching between armor and weapons for example resets the rarity filter. You assume we want profession to be sticky, why not level range and rarity?

It’s a cash grab, plain and simple.

How the heck is it a cash grab?

Is there anything you can buy to eliminate this NPE?
Anything to unlock your skill slots faster or grant you skill points per level like before?
Anything to move up when Personal Story Chapters start?

No! So no cash grab.

Some people have try to wedge every change they don’t like through the prism of the “Nexon controlled cash shop” conspiracy theory narrative.

Honestly why do people constantly use the gold to gem rate when they should be using the gem to gold rate. Oh that’s right, the graph and amounts when the gem exchange opens is the gold to gem rate. The gold to gem rate has been over 10g since the end of May.

Simple Question - About Selling Profit%

It was bigger then than now. Just now they also show you the 10% sales tax and no Projected Profit.

Honestly the lack of remedial math skills among MMO players are frightening. Everyone should be able to multiply and divide by 2 and 10 in their heads as second nature.

Agree with the first point.

I would be in favor of a show more/all button for historical transactions.

I suspect the assumption was that separate game accounts would be under separate users and that cache is stored in the local.dat file found in the user folder structure already. It’s only when logging in under the same user but to different game accounts where this would be a problem.

Simple Question - About Selling Profit%

in Black Lion Trading Co

If I remmember correctly it was 10% of your set value was the Trading Post Fee. (I may be wrong)

You are wrong. There has always been a 15% fee, 10% for trading, 5% for listing. The 5% listing fee wasn’t shown when listing/trading before, but it is now.

Wrong, the 5% listing fee was show as “Listing Fee” under the “Projected Profit” line, it just not factored into “projected profit” which only subtracted the 10% sales tax.

It gave junk a tiny bit of purpose besides being 1-2c fodder.

Error TP

Well “Chief” the true advantage of a bot is it’s relentlessness, kind of like the Terminator. It doesn’t sleep, it doesn’t panic and as such whatever timer they may put in, a bot can be programmed around that.

Now I know they implied the sell limit was in there to prevent bots but I think that’s an excuse to hide the limits on the infrastructure of the TP as well as keeping access fair among players.

But again it’s still first come, first advantage. It’s just that players on live who aren’t following the PTR are scratching their heads wondering why X suddenly shot up in price.

Key Farming (exploit) Y/N?

I’ve seen new players posting questions about how to do the Personal Story because they aren’t high enough level to safely travel to the next contact point. That was the issue they fixed by making sure the entire chapter was playable when you start it and the easiest way to do that is set the level it unlocks to the min level of the last part of the chapter. The loss of the key farm was collateral damage of that fix.
