24 is not a small group. Not even slightly.
Now on DB Borderland , all the credits to [RET], I was just at the right time to make the video.
Did… did you just make a video of PvDoor?
Dodge rolling a big move is on of the most skillful things you can do in this game. So, I guess 25v25 is very skillful since you are going to dodge a big move almost every time you dodge roll.
Hell, players in 25v25 can dodge roll big moves with their eyes shut, I bet.
As well as reactive interrupts and blinds. Running forward, hitting all your shouts, and spamming the 1 key? This is why people hate the upper tiers. So kitten boring.
Guys, please stop acting like anet cares about people taking wvw seriously. Find a ridiculous consumable? Use the ridiculous consumable. If they remove one, there’s a long list of others to use. I’m pretty sure wvw is just pve++ to them, so relax and have fun.
Yeah, we’re not fielding large numbers anymore, because not that many of the transfers wanted to play on Maguuma. They wanted to play on the winning server. Check our history. Maguuma is not a winning server. We just had a run of stomping dead servers that were falling down the rankings because everyone ditched them.
:3
Capping the whole map while the other servers sleep is nothing to be proud of.
Lol then they should just all sleep with the North Americans? Nothing we can do but smash them as hard as we can NA primetime…. No sense in complaining
Not complaining. Just saying that it’s not an accomplishment of merit.

I guess orbs won’t be coming back anytime soon.
Isn’t gvg supposed to be 8v8 or 5v5 something? 20v20 is into zerg territory.
I really hope Anet looks at this and decides to revert the change. I just stopped playing GW2 for a week last December until they reverted the change. This time I’ve just been playing a lot of fractals to soothe my frustration. I don’t think I can take another week of it.
I just hope it isn’t a repeat of this week with Kaineng pushing DB constantly bolstered by Mag raids. I don’t think there was any kind of a formal alliance but Mag mostly avoided FA at least during the hours I play. I haven’t seen Danelon and Golanta sit that long without flipping for a long time.
We tried to take FA’s west keep on their borderland yesterday from SW tower. Your BP guild came along and double teamed us out of it. Not really cool.
We then decided to go to your borderland and proceeded to take every single thing on it, so you might want to have a talk with them.
Are you the guy that keeps confusing east and west in map chat?
Are you the guy who has nothing constructive or pertinent to add to the conversation?
No, that’s me.
In short, there is a subset of Maguuma players who decided not to contribute to WvW on Monday and are actively trying to disrupt communication. It now costs GEMS to transfer so I find this behavhior unethical. I hope this stops because it’s embarrasing.
We tried to warn you. We tried very, very hard to warn everyone. Can’t blame us that everyone thought we were joking.
This is insanely boring.
Mag will almost definitely make it to T2 before we do. It will be an epic battle though that is for sure. Cant wait
You act like we don’t want to lose that battle.
Last weekend’s opener showed that DR and BP have reasonable numbers to keep the match somewhat even for a while. There’s a difference between just not having numbers and not having numbers because your guys are too sad to play.
We tried to make a push there with about 10 people, and we encountered a zerg bigger than ours at Redlake.
So no.
That’s because we saw your numbers and asked people on other borderlands to come help. We don’t have a huge zerg on all the maps. We just know how to communicate.
3am on a Friday and there is a Maguuma zerg on every single map. Wow.
For an hour or two tonight, we literally just had five people defending on our borderlands. Two of those were PvE people just doing map completion. Three people is not a zerg.
Given that there were far more people playing WvW then, yep. You’d get over 5 camping almost each one with siege weapons pretty much 24/7. Throw the orbs on top of that, if another server had all three, you didn’t go near those things.
Yeah, I’m done playing WvW until they revert this change. Being able to watch friends and foes get culled out is something that should never happen.
Not enough to dent the scoreboard. But keep playing for 2nd, if that’s the goal.
Hey, man. It’s all the guys we have to spare. Not sure you realize how undermanned Maguuma is most of the time. We hide it rather well with our mobility, but sometimes we can’t even afford to send 5 men into CD’s borderlands. Today we had the space to send 10 or so and we tried to take all we could before we got called back for keep defense. Definitely not playing for second. Just have to be careful to not overextend towards CD and have Ehmry Bay eat all our stuff.
End of the week is a little late. There have be countless instances during this matchup of Maguuma making ill considered moves to attack Ehmry Bay when they had perfect setups to attack Crystal Desert instead.
Considering the numbers all sides were fielding Crystal Desert would have been hard pressed just to keep their keeps had we been allowed to focus them as we so wished. (assuming you were focusing them too) Essentially we end up attacking Maguuma most times out of frustration at Maguuma handicapping our efforts at hitting Crystal Desert with a force at least half as large as our own. People that could have ninjad countless camps and towers from Crystal Desert while we had the attention of their zerg.
I can’t blame your average Maguuma player on this. That responsibility lies with the commanders and leaders of Maguuma. You chose poorly.
Stop lying. If we ever focused solely on CD’s borderland, we had you pushing into our territory hard. The only way we could ever really take it to CD was to send a team into your borderland at the same time as to distract and discourage you from coming over while we weren’t home. I wish there was some sort of animated image of the map throughout this match-up. Most of the time you’d see a fully green borderland, a fully blue borderland, and a mixed red/blue/green borderland. Try not playing for second next week. It’s boring.
On a few occasions now I have seen large guilds leave my server because they “Are sick of people not listening in WvW.” So what do they do? They join a servers like Maguuma or Sorrow’s, servers that are always doing well in their tier. Which, to me, seems like a counter-intuitive approach. Bring your guild to a server that you are always beating, show that you ACTUALLY matter in the spectrum of WvW players.
You think Maguuma is a winning server? Check out the scores for this week and the last and come on over for the next. We get guilds coming over because we’re a friendly community that’s fairly organized and supportive of each other. Any of those guilds are showing that they actually matter, since even after they come over, we’re still outnumbered most of the time.
It was a bit over two hours. Server disconnects me as we’re destroying the webbing to hold the thing in place and log back in immediately to an overflow that already completed the event. Tried reconnecting a few more times and no go. Still all overflows that had finished. I wasn’t even that annoyed until I saw that people were getting 20 slot bags and exotics. I sent in a ticket, and I really hope we’re getting some of this stuff mailed to us.
Wait. You have a problem with Maguuma queue times? It’s going to be hard to find a server with lower queue times that is still reasonably competitive. If I queue up for the right map, I rarely ever go up above 10 minutes during prime time. If that’s too much, check out the post with the rankings and transfer to the one of the ones on the very bottom, because almost all the servers being suggested here have just as many or more players than we do.
Think of a solution before you completely isolate the oceanic player base who was isolated from the start. Where do you expect us to go anyway?
You and your geographic compatriots have broken WvW by not splitting up evenly amongst the servers, so it’s hard for me to care where you go. There’s really no other way to put it. The only solution people and ArenaNet have given is to get a larger night crew (the servers are in NA and it gets dark here), and that’s a solution that’s up to you to implement. So please, help ArenaNet figure out how to compensate for the population imbalances you have created, balance your population, or stop playing. Your choice, but I hope you pick one of the first two.

EB has a very slight night advantage on TC and Maguuma. If you check out the queue charts, you can see they start 3 hours later and end 3 hours later. I was on until about 6a eastern and it was noticeable, but it wasn’t overwhelming. However, I did go back in to check on the scores and it seems EB grabbed a bunch of stuff after I left. He who scores last, scores longest.
At least it’s not Dragonbrand. Their oceanic players can rot in hell.

Or if you absolutely can’t tear yourself away from the game, spend the rest of the week talking to your server and getting ready for next time. Look at the situation and ask yourself and your server: “How do we get better for next time?”
We get better by waiting for ArenaNet to match us up against a server that doesn’t have at least five times our numbers at night and still more numbers during the day.
Man, I can’t even begin to quote the rest of your post. You are horribly naive if you think this isn’t just about numbers. People don’t mind losing games where they at least had a chance. These numbers at night? There is absolutely zero chance, and you either have no experience with it or you’re lying to say otherwise.

So yup, remove the score. I see no reason for it really. It gives some pve bonuses but just show the bonus bar and dump the score. Really, I know why the score is there (when the servers shuffle for pairing they are using that) but they don’t need to show it. Maybe that would stop most of these complaints. Score means nothing really unless you are a pve fiend in which case WoW is coming out with Kung Fu Panda and will be a better pve experience as this game is PvP based.
The score is just indicative of the problem. The problem being that servers with lower wvw populations effectively don’t have the option to play at night and that during the day the maps will usually start by being completely owned by one other team. Not seeing the score won’t change that.

I have not tried WvWvW yet becuase i have been lvling my character but is there something stopping people from doing this? When you come back to the game and things have been taken why not just take it back. Is that not the point of WvWvW.
The servers with heavy night capping populations don’t have less players during the day. They have at least equal populations during the day that have had their forts upgraded the entire night. You can take back a third or so of the map during the day (remember that you start the day owning absolutely none of it), but that isn’t enough to offset the score especially since whatever you just did gets taken once again during the night. Quite a sisyphean task, don’t you think?

All I have seen is, you want WvW to only matter during the hours you are up. The remaining hours in which you are not up, must be curtailed in the name of “fairness” when in actuality, you are angry because people can play during hours that you can’t, and therefore affect your server’s performance while you are helpless to do anything about it.
For me, that’s not even slightly it. I’m mostly able to just play at night. I’m forced to defend keeps with anything from 4 to 1 to 10 to 1 odds. Fair? Meh. Fun? Not even slightly. You don’t even get to fight against odds like that. You can’t stand up at the walls. You can’t stand at the gates. You can’t hurt a zerg like that with siege weapons. Your only choice is to slow them down for some sort of sense of pride and waypoint out so you don’t have to pay for armor repairs. It’s not that it’s unfair. It’s that the game doesn’t even really exist during those hours. Through no fault of our own, we simply can’t play the game when we’re matched against oceanic servers.

It’s not about fairness. It’s about it not being fun.
I really don’t think you should be talking about this until you’ve had to try to defend a garrison with less than 10 people against around 100 night cappers. We can kickkitten all we want during the day, but it will always come back to those at best 4 to 1 odds.
This ties into the other thread about being able to get rid of defeated players as to avoid situations where an entire army resses behind you. Not a bad idea to give players a way to destroy the dead.
Maybe, and I know this is a big deal, you should split the guild up onto different servers. Get some enjoyment out of playing each other. With 4 highly ranked servers, one of you guys is going to be going through this every week. Might want to think ahead while transfers are still free and easy.
Ummm No the point is they were hitting people in the hallway and outside from inside but the reverse was not happening……..since obviously arrows dont fly thru walls and ceilings normally i would say this is an exploit……. in your rage example the tree would actually stop the spell the walls and ceiling are not.
BTW if they had ballista in there and were direct firing down the hall no issue as a matter of fact well played, but that clearly wasnt the case because we all know culling would limit the number of targets so aoe is the answer.
really if your going to argue a point get informed.
That’s not what was happening. Have you seen that room? We were just spamming the entrance to the hallway so if they came in it would hurt. When they came in far enough to be hurt, they could see all of our siege equipment we were hiding around the corners.
Personally, I was just hoping they would get bored and go away.
Nah, don’t think you’d be having too much fun on Maguuma. The differences in player populations at night has given me a burning hatred for you and your server.
If this was Dragonbrand against Maguuma, we couldn’t have survived the repeated attempts without reinforcements. This meant that we had nobody anywhere else, but we weren’t losing the rest of the map for some reason. As for the attacks themselves. They all rushed in, we lost all of our equipment, and had to rush supplies in to rebuild. I think this was just played wrong on the side of the attackers. We had to rebuild all of our defenses each time after an attack all the while worrying that they’d come back too fast. They didn’t. Even if they had just found a way to keep the waypoint contested after they wiped that room, we wouldn’t have been able to get any supplies in.
The room that contains the orb of power in Etheron Hills can be hit from the outside with flamethrowers and various other spells that I couldn’t identify. The attached screenshot shows the location, but unfortunately I didn’t catch any of the flames because they stopped doing it right before I took this screenshot.
The toolkit lets them hit people with a wrench and a crowbar. That’s pretty fun.
Maguuma has less than 20 people on between about 4am to 8am eastern. We tend to have one other server with near 100 on at the same time. It’s not so much that the other team is going to win. It’s that this is not fun. At all.
ArenaNet just needs to match servers together based on their periods of activity. Grab all the servers with high night/morning populations and have them face off. Really not a hard thing to do.
