Has Ebay even had a T3 structure all week? I guess this is the only way they get to see what it looks like.
Hey guys, you can build waypoints in keeps if you hold them long enough. Pro tip.
Only problem with the waypoint is that once its up, its like moths to a flame with you guys (FA). although we (CD) did hold our garri from a number of pushes AND managed to get a fortification upgrade done while being trebbed from Dawn’s with the wall being broken for about an hour. was fun
im a ranger running SB and GS with knights armor and zerk trinkets. i have lb if i ever need 1 but honestly its the WORST weapon we have imo. i use cats for crit damage since they die i seconds might as well get another 5k damage done while i can. im more a tanky build and grab a lot of the aggro on most occasions. i do hate the fact that rangers get blasted so much but at the same time im glad its not my build thats getting thrashed. ive ran every dungeon and lvl 28 fractals with little to no problems so far. and personally i drop faster on my guardian than i do my ranger.
funniest ive seen is a guild recruitment shout for wvw/dungeons/fractals. they listed recruitment for every class and at the end they put ‘no rangers, we’ll probably never ask for rangers’ :/ we’re more useful than you think >.<
personally i wouldnt be able play it on console for the obvious restriction of losing a LOT of command input. i played ff14arr on both ps3 and pc and personally the ps3 version was too confusing to play compared to the pc version simply because if i hit the wrong shoulder button at any point it’d screw up my command selection and i’d have to spend 5 seconds trying to get it back to where i was while tanking an enemy.
i assumed nodes change when a map empties completely rather than on reset. ive had malchor’s leap and cursed shore nodes change without a patch so thats why im assuming this.
i have a lvl80 ranger and a lvl80 guard and personally… i die a LOT more on my guardian than on my ranger. i also find ranger more fun in both wvw and pve. my guardian is a shouts build and my ranger is an offensive tank build in knights gear with zerk trinkets, sb/gs combo and 30/0/30/10/0 trait setup. just be warned rangers seem to be targetted in wvw first a lot lately for some reason.
they cut the drop rate of karma consumables from champ loot a LOT, i used to get 1 per bag but now it more like 1 in 50 or so if i even get any at that. best way for karma is wvw. kill a supply dolly 85 karma, sentry 120, camp capture 170, tower 340, keep 1300. even defending gets 255 karma when the timer hits 0.00. and if you happen to be dominating the week its a breeze to get with a good zerg.
pve levelling will get you used to how your class operates in combat, but even when you put a lot of time into he pve side its a completely different ball game in spvp.
you could just jump in at the deep end and play spvp without touching the pve side at all but it might be easier to do pve until your comfortable with the combat mchanics and then jump in.
that being said, i suck at spvp so i mightn’t have the best opinion lol

i ran the game with a friend with e on ranger and her on necro and i liked the fact that necros conditions help up my overall attack damage. it was fun
A Ranger can actually do similar damage to a Warrior played properly
This is accomplished by using the ele lightning hammer although only for a short time and with stacks of might and fury. its nice to deal the damage but given it needs the strict requirements its more of a now and again approach.
ive played my ranger for over 2100 hrs now and i run a sb/gs build with knights armor (can use soldiers if you find yourself downing a lot) and zerk trinkets. now ranger damage is fairly low in the game with the bulk of our power from our (recently next to useless due to the content difficulty spike) pets. if you want a damage based ranger use s/w and lb to stay at range using cats for more crit damage, but personally i have more fun as the ‘tank’ of the party using sb and gs. ive pugged a lot of dungeons and a lot of the time im the last person standing even though im in the face of and kite tanking half the monsters in them.
i run a 30/0/30/10/0 build with healing spring, signet of the hunt, signet of stone and lightning reflexes. im set more for surviving rather than crit hits. for my elite i switch between the 3 class elites depending on whats needed. solo running i normally use Rampage as One for the stability, i use Entangle if theres gonna be a swarm of mobs coming and then spirit of nature i use if the team is downing a lot and it allows me to keep their health replenished for a while and also if a few down its 2nd ability allows for a mess revival from downed state. i use this mainly in water fights as it also gives me a better chance to stay alive and same goes for the team. tho in fairness rangers can down in water and just keep attacking without worrying too much due to our hidden asset :p
so while im basically taunting the bosses the rest of the team can unleash hell while i dance around the room with them. ranger is highly disliked due to the bearbow builds that have decent dps but drop fast.
in wvw i can last easily solo camps, fights in 1v1 vs war/guard and 8/10 times i win but multi oponents can cause problems. and i dont pvp much cuz i know i suck at it. but overall ranger is OP in pve enviroments, failry good in wvw from my experience and i hear its decent in spvp but as stated i suck at it so i dont bother.
it’d work on any human type enemies nicely. (as in bandits, char, nightmare court, savnir) but enemies such as world bosses, golems and an animal type like wolves and such wouldnt suit well. it’s a very fine line between what could technically be stomped or not imo. not sure if the centaurs, krait or risen would suit being stomped or not…. but the rest would be pretty awesome.
for forging my pre what im doing is running dungeons and getting the dungeon weapons to forge as well as any rares i pick up. since i know i want dusk i just collect 4 GS and chuck em in, ill either get my pre by doing this or save up the gold from playing the game. i intend to do what rhapsody mentioned above too with the rares when i get my pre. as for T6 mats youll get them as you play. i always leave them for last and just but order the when i have enough gold.
Solo’d the Champ ooze in south Frostgorge, champ quaggan there too, the 2 champ wasps in fields of ruin east side and i duo’d the fire shaman and fire ele with my friend a few times now. i solo’d the underwater fractal with the jellyfish boss and also managed to beat shatterer with 3 ppl.
i want to know this too. id rather have the party stay intact than drop the offline members. this could lead to dungeon trouble too if the host dc;s and goes offline. he’ll drop party and the whole thing will be over. ANET please fix it
i basically sell all green loot, and sell exo’s over 2g, you get lucky with some drops. also i leave the T6 mats until last as you gather a lot of those while getting everything else. just play away and they eventually start to stack up with the remainder coming from the TP once i have everything else. running dungeons is a good money cycle as well as doing the ori and ancient log harvest runs. ads a nice bit to the pocket. also you can champ farm too but its been nerfed a bit lately.
For ecto globs i salvage all rares using mystic kits and exo’s i dont sell using black lion kits, also for precursor i forge all rare and exo drops of the weapon i want to try for it, and also use dungeon tokens to try as well. avoid buying rares from the TP. its a huge waste of gold.
but basically what i do is, Gift of weapon>Clovers>Gift of mastery>precursor>gift of fortune.

Have to say i had fun this week. even tho at times barely any1 was on eb and we did lose everything a few times i had some fun fights.
1v1 fights were interesting with a few [FTF] players on FABL and had a nice solo run through the FA zerg at CD keep yesterday in eb. lol. got to the end of the 30 man zerg going from jerri to our keep before getting slaughtered by the tail
i can pretty much solo most of the champs in-game on my ranger fairly easily. simply due to the fact if i do ever down, i can revive myself easily. i can solo the fire shaman meta boss if i get my dodges right also but ive always killed him with my firend. duo’d him abot 7 times total now. 2 of those being since he was updatedand made stronger, but hes still a fun challenge. im in knights armor with zerk trinkets and zerk weapons (sb/gs). love the solo challenge at times

(major bonus points after that if we could stow pets and they’d STAY stowed)
this i fully agree with, since the new contents seem to wipe our pets in the first 2 seconds of combat they’re effectively dead weight and we lose the extra damage due to it. also id like the damage done by ranger GS to be more powerful. its a great defensive weapon but ranger seriously needs a small power boost.
1) new armors – theres not enough armor options. some work well for the professions and others fall short of the mark. medium armor especially is well suited to thieves and engineers but ranger it just doesnt sit right at times.
2) Dungeons – Make story completion acc bound for all char, meaning we dont have to re-do story mose in order to start exp mode on an alt.
3) Living Story – make old content replayable? rewards and achieves can be disabled but itd be nice to be able go back on some of the content now and again.
we killed him with a party of a thief running shortbow, and ele using staff, a necro, a mesmer and yself as ranger running sbow and gs, just stay close to him and dodge his attacks, hes not really that difficult at all. he only spits cogs out after you g over 500 range i think. we kept just outside of melee range for the whole fight while 1 person drew in the holos to clear his buffs. wiped twice but we were new to the path.
You would have to find someone trustworthy of course lol.
lol. and there lies my probelm :p i already asked a few friends from my old server but they all had 5 guilds already and since it was just 2 of us in the guild and we both transferred from EU – NA we have no real close contacts over there :s so i had an idea to make a trial acc using my bros email and transfer the goods but left it too late. ill try it again next time the free trial period is in place.
yh i moved server a few months ago and didnt know about the guild bank thing, so we moved and left a bank with 1 tab full of goods on our old server lol. still trying to find a way around transferring back in order to get them back :<
you’ll have to get some1 on piken side to activate them. any data no piken side (upgrades, banners, boosters, missins etc.) are linked to piken square and can only be initiated by some1 on that side. guesting doesnt change anything in relation to guild privillages.
got my gift of twilgiht, gift of sunrise, gift of kotaki and gift of kudzu made.
have 258 clovers of the 308 needed, have 1 gift of mastery made
need to finish map completion on 1 more alt (at 70% now), get 3 more bloodstone shards and 3 more stacks of obsies and 1 more gift of battle (need 250 more badges of honor) for my other 3 mastery gifts.
after that ill need 4 stacks of globs, and have to get 1k of each of the T6 mats (have about 50-200 of each now) for the gifts of might and magic.
then hopefully by the time ive farmed all those ill have enough gold for 1 or 2 pre’s lol
already have a buy order on carcharias so hope that comes through.
currently running dungeons for tokens to forge GS in the mean time as well as forging all the rare LB and GS i get from metas hoping to pull out a pre or something sellable to add to the funds lol.
i dont mind having to get a hairstyles kit to change hair color, but an option to change our accessory color in the dye options would be of great use. it seems kind of silly to have to buy a hair kit JUST so we can change the accessory color.
so could you PLEASE add an option to dye our accessory in the armor color tab?
it really limits what we can do when 1 thing is locked to a certain color

bear in mind that this week every server will barely be making an effort due to wvw season starting soon. we (CD) have the same enemy teams as last week (BP and IOJ oddly enough) and somehow we’re keeping pace with them so far, even though they stomped us last week.
pk 1’s announcement has really left me kind of annoyed. been trying for the exo minis and have 0 so far. only need 4 of either oak, jak-a-lop, undead chicken, krait witch and the orrian wraith for my 54/54. and now the prices have gone through the stratosphere let alone the roof :/ ill never be able get the title now
$20 for 1600 gems, im on a high pop server (CD) atm, it costs me 1800 gems to go to another high pop server , 800 to a medium pop server and o a low pop server its free.
again those are the rates give for my transfers, so your prices may be different.
i got to 100% after about 2 weeks of champ farming after the luck patch and then stopped lol. im now at 101% since then just completing daily objectives. unless you have nothing else youre working towards, it seems a waste to go for MF first.
I actually prefer have the crafting separate for characters as i can easily level and alt using it.
Dungeons ill agree with, they should be acc bound for opening. kind of irritating when you go to start a dungeon on your alts only to remember that you done story on some1 else.
the map part is annoying bu again its kind of alt-friendly as while getting to 100% your also making gold, exp, karma and sp. and it leaves getting around the map on an alt a whole lot easier.
i have 2 legendary weapons made and am working on 4 more. the only complaint i have at the moment is the huge cut in karma gain we get from daily/monthly completion, making it a bit longer to get enough for all my obsies from balth temple.

Now have Dreamer and Frenzy on my ranger
My other WIP are: Kudzu, Eternity and Kamohoali’i Kotaki.

Also a tip for forging rares. DONT BUY RARES. get them from metas, run dungeons and use the dungeon weapon exo’s and i also find fractals a good source of rares too. but im placing all my bets on dungeon weapons as my main forge source. so ill either get my pre from the forge, or save enough for the TP first
I’m not going to sit around for an hour doing nothing just so I can try to bypass the ridiculous overflow system.
Just saying this as you seem to misinterpret what they mean. They group up in overflow to kill him. not in main server. even main servers can be terrible to try get the kill. on CD
we get a kill at reset an that’s it. everybody loses interest then so its kinda pointless after that.
but they seem to organize on the overflow where anybody from any server can join up without having to guest at all. can at least give it a try and hopefully youll get there.
