I don’t exactly have the time now to focus on the TP route. At most I run Ascalon Dungeon path 1-2-3 on three characters then path 1 and 2 of Citadel of Flame on three characters again. Overall with the flat definite 1g per run I get 15g flat secured on all of it ( this does not include the loots etc ).
8 months ago, I was doing the same runs but getting better trade for the same time spent. As for playing the TP, like what I said earlier, I don’t have the time to play the TP anymore unlike when I started the game wherein I was hunting the ore nodes, chopping wood and salvaging things left and right for materials and selling the ones that are in huge demand etc.
Doing the same dungeon paths multiple times may or may not be worth it now. There is some contention in the wording of the update of getting your gold only once per day per path. You can always do the champ train and hope for some t6 mats or a good exotic, Fractals are a mildly good option, and world event trains are generally very profitable. Whenever the next season of LS comes out you can farm that with everyone and make some money there, as well. Trading laurels for t6 mats will most likely always be a very simple way of turning your daily log into a bit of cashola, as well.
No one is going to comment on the date of the article?
ANet never said it would be any different. Anyone saying that the skin is always visible, no matter if you change gear, are just not reading correctly.
Vanity slots would be much easier for us, but not as easy to make money off of as selling transmutation charges and upgrade removers.
I can’t speak in chat, however I can send mail.
I know that I would have a problem with this. My server (Borlis Pass) would pretty much never be able to go into the dungeon. I agree we need more dungeons, but not ones that combine different game modes.
I would like an answer to this as well. I have the old pair of Mad King’s slippers with a traveler rune in it, and would very much like to get that out. But it is unsalvageable, just like karma gear.
This is pretty thinly veiled, sir.
Staff Mesmer is pretty mobile with Deceptive Evasion and a Superior Sigil of Stamina. Dodge about, creating clones, 2-step away from the big hits, shatter often. Can do a good chunk of damage, especially against champions and world bosses with a lot of conditions and the Phantasmal Warlock.
P/P thief is also quite mobile, as well as P/D. P/P you just stay at range, dodging about while unloading on your target and then juking off into the night. P/D 3 skill stabs and then shadowsteps back. Something gets a little too close? Make it pay for its indiscretion.
Its quite possible at this point that anyone that still has one unopened doesn’t even play anymore.
Even when it WAS available it was an incredibly small chance. Most likely something along the lines of .1%.
I have worked out I should have 150+ charges and perhaps a few 100+ unidentified dyes with the new patch, so I can’t complain…
You will be able to earn additional charges from doing the tracks in spvp, not sure how many but if you complete the pvp track, the 8 dungeon tracks and 5 or 6 regional tracks its at least 50+.
I’ll be very excited to get 631 unid dyes. I’ll have every dye, except some of limited edition sets, unlocked for use and quite a bit of light and heavy armor all ready for transmutation, not mention all those nice LS skins that I’ve saved. I just won’t know what to do with myself for a week or so.
You may be confused on the WvWvW. It isn’t level that goes account wide. It is your rank that goes account wide.
Other than that, I can’t think of anything else to do.
You read the same article? They directly say that your WxP will be pooled across all characters.
This is exactly how I understood. All characters WXP together = Supermega high Rank (or WvWvW level).
Which is exactly what it is. I won’t just get something saying I’m such-and-such rank, I will get all of my WxP, making me that rank, and all the points that entails. Plus all currently spent points refunded, and the total number spendable on each individual character. So if I want one that is just for door busting, I can do that, and then one just for trebbing, I can do that as well.

- Use a LVL 20 scroll right after starter quest.
- Level each craft to 400 (20 + 7*8 = 76) (materials will cost you roughly 20g)
- Run Champ train in Frostgorge for a few hours and you will be 80.
You are welcome for me ruining IMO the best part of GW2 for you.
FTFY, some of us hate the leveling aspect because it means we can’t do what we like aka dungeons/wvw.
Why can’t you WvW?
Being an uplevel is a detriment to larger servers where those player slots would be better put to use in the hands of an 80 instead of a level 20 upleveled.
@Astral Projections
Look you seem to have no clue on what is going on here with towns clothes. Or care how much this will cost me in time to repair.
I will try and explain this one last time, since you do not use mix and match towns clothes or Role play here.
Tonics are junk. You can not mix and match with them. Anet screwed up when they made certain outs clothes and now we are suck with tonics. They will be sent back for a refund.
So I am now stuck with making all new outfits from the remnants of some skins on different characters that I bought. All of this will take a huge amount of Transmutation Charges for all of my 12 character to get a new sets of role play outfits.
Please top looking at this fork your perspective only, and how little it will effect you. And think how much time, and expense it will effect others!
So you have to work a bit at making your new looks. Just like the rest of us. I have 20 characters. Yeah, not all of those are 80 and getting new outfits. But those level 80s I do have? I have four full sets of armor on my mesmer alone. I’ve been holding off making them look nice because I’ve expected something for a while, and here it is. The vast majority of players are not going to have a problem with this, and are actually embracing it. You need to stop expecting being handed everything because its what you want. There are TWO RP servers, in how many servers total? RP is the minority, and that’s that. You get to mix and match regular armor, which has far, far more variety than town clothes ever did. Now you can put hats and masks to them, as well. You have to work a bit at it. Just like everyone else. Get your refunds, trade the gems for gold, buy your new skins, wander some towns (doing all five will take you about an hour and a half), and make new, better outfits.
I would say that the parts to make the Forge Conduits should make a comeback. The Permanent Hair Stylist should come back, and then also maybe permanent versions of Total Makeover Kits, maybe make something like an Account Bag drop from the chest.
So far as I can see, yes. The “might” is that you could also get BLC Keys. Or possibly some other goodies from the shop.
No. You have to have the item at time of patch day. You can open a ticket, but it is highly unlikely that anything will come of it.
The only good thing about EoTM is that it keeps those people out of wvw that we don’t want in wvw. The kind of player that is completely uninterested in strategy, learning, fighting or competition.
EoTM consists of a single huge farm train, that moves on the same route for hours just capping objectives. Fights with the other team are actively avoided, and defending is non-existent.
The fact that EoTM rewards (even moreso than real wvw) badges of honor and wxp is a joke and a slap in the the face for true WvW-ers.
EoTM is champfarming in WvW cloak. It has no other use than to keep the casuals happy, making them feel like they play and progress in a pvp-enviroment, when in reality it’s 100% PvE.
By ANet’s standards ALL of WvW, no matter whether it be in a BL, EB, or EotM, is all PvE. If it was PvP they would have split it in the first place, just like actual PvP.
There is also a reason that people stay out of regular WvW, because they receive nothing but elitism such as this.
We won’t know until it hits. Most likely will be that it is just gone, though. Glory is gone, and there’s no real amalgam to take its place, so they will most likely just get rid of it like our overflowing Glory Booster collections.
I was never particularly into WvW, only ever being there for karma trains. EotM is really quite nice because it removes the people, such as myself, that don’t really know what we’re doing from the main maps. We learn the ropes in Edge, and then get into the Big Boy league in regular zones. I don’t know if I will ever progress past Edge, though. It is far too nice of a map.
It might be that we can’t salvage them because we need a source for Crystalline Ingots. I highly doubt they would be the only source, but I can only imagine the rage that would come about if people were salvaging rings the whole time and suddenly they lost out on all the other ascended mats they could have been getting.
Fastest is crafting.
Cheapest is either exploration or karma training in EotM.
Kinda similar to what Vol said, but a Logitech g600 might not be a bad idea. It has 12 buttons at the thumb, 2 buttons under your middle finger and below the mouse wheel, and a button under your pinky for switching what every single button does while it is held down. This would give you access to all your skills, plus a bit of movement outside of holding down both mouse buttons, and then with the shift it’ll give you all the extra buttons for opening menus or the sort.
Also, on another note, you may want to look into Combat Mode. It isn’t explicitly approved, but the Devs have come out and said they do not plan on pursuing anyone that uses it because it doesn’t directly change anything and doesn’t give a considerable advantage. But it does make it so you have a crosshair that auto uses skills where it is pointing. So if you are in something that gives you an aiming cirle it’ll just cast there automatically, as well as use skills at range on the crosshair as well.
More on topic, I would say either bunker Warrior, or an Altruistic Healing Guardian with a hammer in a melee focused party. The warrior will survive hits long enough for you to get away, and the guardian will heal for quite a chunk every second if your party is all right there next to you. The big thing you will need is a group of players that understand your limitations and shore them up.
Collectors especially are what I miss, Nick and Yakkington especially. A new way of obtaining skins, especially if it leads to players coming back to old zones, is one of the big things this game needs. With the wardrobe coming out, it would be the perfect time for it. If they “set aside” an artist and a coder to make these new skins, possibly hired a small team, it would greatly increase the longevity of the game. At least in my view, seeing as endgame is Pretty Pretty Princess Dressup. All I am really doing now is farming for Legendary/permanent utilites and setting up my skins on my multitude of characters.
Books would be nice, as well, provided you didn’t have to have them as an item in your inventory. Make it another tab in the Hero panel, and it certainly gets my vote.
The only quests that I would like to see, though, would be instanced story-like quests. I don’t wanna go off on a mighty adventure to collect 5 Moa Feathers or 37 Bear (Rumps).
Can someone please please help me. So as everyone knows, the patch hits in few days. I have all ingredients to make this bow except “Longbow token”. I salvaged my 3 LB skins i had, but alas, no token. I dont have enough glory either for it. Whats the best/fastest way to farm PvP LB skins so I can salvage them and hope for a LB token. Or whats the best way to get the LB token. I dont spvp that often. Yesterday I did daily and it gave me luck and coin so no items there :c
There is no way to farm them now. The only thing that pays out skins now is the achievement chests, which are too few and far apart to actually farm. At this point, unfortunately, the ship has sailed.
Except that sometimes those traits aren’t of any use. There is a huge amount of garbage traits in this game that are just completely worthless on a given build. So many times I keep cycling through the major traits to find something useful on master tier because I need something from grandmaster tier and the like…
It would be nice if each trait had multiple purposes like skills do. Its hard to find a skill that doesn’t do at least two things so that it remains useful in every situation. Unfortunately they didn’t design traits this way.
Above there was a bit of a mix-up. You would get 4 Minor traits, not 4 Major Traits. Minor traits tend to be very helpful. Like, say, in Elementalist, one of the professions that benefits the most from a full Celestial gearing. This gives them utility for switching their attunements, when they go into the 15/15/15/15/10 spread.
Engineer, the other class that benefits well from Celestial, also get very good utility from going away from the 14s all around. Yes, quite a lot of Major traits are subpar. The minor traits, though, have to be varied to be able to pair with as many builds as available, seeing as you can’t pick and choose them.
That Masquerade set is the only set not obtainable in PvE. The others are high level karma/PS gear. My guess is that they will finally provide some means to obtain them in PvE, as well as continue with a method of PvP obtainability. However, time will tell. I hope they’ll be available, but it could just as easily be the other way around and they get removed entirely.
They said in the livestream that in the case of things that you have to choose between weight classes as well as town clothes that are hat only, you can choose which weight class at the time of application. So in the case of LS helms, Radiant, Hellfire, Fused, and Gemstore non-specific armors(Toxic gloves and shoulders, etc.) unlocking the skin in one category will unlock it in all categories. At least, that is what the context of what they said came through as.
I’m not at home, so I can’t check HotM, but that helm doesn’t look like any of the Scale helmets I’ve seen on the wiki.
Well, I don’t think Anet would ever add gem store items to the loot tables. But, they definitely need to do something to sweeten loot. As is, I tend to mindlessly salvage most drops that I can’t insta-sell on the TP for more than they’re worth. Open inventory, salvage kit, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, deposit collectibles, move on. Getting something else, some kind of variety, some better drop rates for useful items…that’d be nice.
What are you looking for?
Remember when you make your request that it can’t be something above the current virtual progression.
Personally, I would say at least getting a grey from every kill. Increase the rate of salvageable items, bags, and straight materials. Add unique drops for certain areas, certain monster types. It was cool how in GW1 certain bosses dropped very particular unique gear, generally what they had in their own hands geared to what they used, skill-wise.
They stealth removed them. No idea if they’ll be back, but I doubt it.
However, if the reason you want to split them is so you can get both skins, you will already. If the reason you want to split them is so you have the two ascended swords again, you’re probably up a creak without a paddle.
just use the skin on an already infused backpack (when the patch is live), dont think they are going to change the 2 backpieces anyway…
That’s a pretty hefty cost for just a skin you can make yourself, then.
I highly doubt that they won’t make them ascend-able.
No, they will not drop BL keys from the possible loot tables (its a low drop anyways, there is no way you did 100% world completion and didn’t get a single trans stone). They will not give you retroactive charges for every key you got. You can make other characters and go get more charges. PvP players can’t just go “Oh! I’ll make another character and get some ranks on it for more charges!” Rank is account bound. If someone has rank 40, that’s a considerable investment of time, even if they did Skyhammer. They can’t put that same amount of time into it and come out with 80. You can go and make another character, explore the world to 100% again, and get more than their 40 in less time.
Unfortunately, we will only get what we have on patch day. If you lost the skin, you can try and put in a ticket, but most likely nothing will come of it.
How many keys did you get that you feel jipped?
No matter what, as it was said earlier, PvP had FREE skins. You get it, you have it and can switch it around as you please. They are giving them charges as a “Sorry, your old system is gone, here’s a freebie to make up for it.” PvE has gotten stones all along. If you already used them, then you got your use out of them.
Yes. They came out and said this will be the case in the most recent livestream.
I really hate to actually be a person saying this, but because they want you to pay gems for all but the first one. Bags you can pick up from the TP for relatively inexpensively, plus there’s always Fractal gearboxes. But it will never, ever be a thing where you can get a direct drop of gemstore items from kills.
Also, exotics drop far more frequently than once every 6 months. I got 3 in one round level 19 Fractals. It seems like you just have poor luck, in that regard.
If you feel like you need some of the gemstore items without ponying up the gems, try out key farming. The devs have directly said (I’m not gonna look it up, so disbelieive if you want) that key farming is fine. They may change it some, but its fine as is for now. I always have some makeover kits, crystals, and BL salvage kits in reserve because I do a few key farms a week.
I know I personally had a pretty severe brain fart before the ascended armor crafting came out, and I bought 30 stacks of Thick Leather Sections. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people got disgusted by the fact that they also had the same temporary insanity and wanted to be rid of them. Not to mention that leather just comes from more stuff, at least in my experience. I am rolling in leather, even without the stacks and stacks and stacks I bought like a fool.
This was why I was actually very happy with the end of the Tower of Nightmares. I ran it quite a few times with my necro solo because it was so much easier not scaled. It also helped me hammer out my build from wells into a more focused damage. If they brought out more updates like that, and maybe even made it so regular dungeons would be soloed, that would be pretty cool. I would still vastly prefer playing with friends, but being able to get through CoE based entirely on my own merits sounds interesting nonetheless.
I want to play a Ranged-Only class
You need to find another game to play then…
GW2 is very anti ranged combat. As shown by:-
-Best way of killing anything in PvE, group into a ball, buff, melee, revive until foe dead.
-Every good missile weapon has been nerfed to oblivion, example Ranger shortbow, Warrior Longbow, Thief shortbow.Really, don’t play GW2 with a ranged character only ends in tears…
Do not listen to this person. Ranged is fun. Stacking is only for rapid clears.
Are they in an invisible bag/safe box? If so, that’s your problem. Nothing deposits from them, and you can’t sell on the TP or to a vendor from them.
1. Ew… (Purely because the dps would be awful compared to almost any other weapon choices for warrior)
2. Not too bad though I much prefer just sb as opposed to both
3. P/p is about as bad as thieves get in most situations. Though sb is a good compliment IMO to a s/p first weapon set but you wish to remain pure in range so that’s not an option either. If you want to play ranged only, as suggested above, try an engineer.
P/P thieves are great with Ricochet. Bouncing pistol shots with Unload fired whenever you have the initiative to is a fairly high damage output. Nothing like a warrior Hundred Blades, but nothing to discard out of hand.
Also, P/D wouldn’t be a bad call. Something gets close enough to hit you and you just shadow step away and give them Agony with your 3.
You don’t get drops from killing ambients, which is what “fluffy bunnies” are. Permanent loss of gear would be completely counterproductive to everything MMO. The problem we have now is we don’t make enough money from regular sources, and what you want is everyone fleecing each other to get a few gold?
The only problem I foresee in your build is that the radius for your Radiance traits is less than the range of staff. So you have to be right up in their grill to even benefit from half of those traits. So get up in there and give them some burns and you should have some fun.
Above all, though, if you enjoy staff, stick with it. Spam your F1 with the rate of death you would get, and get either an on-kill insignia, or an on-crit insignia and you’ll be fine.
They have stated they are looking into new weapons. It will probably only happen when they open up Cantha or Elona, though. Or bring out an expansion, which is pretty much the same thing, anyways.
Nope, no way to reselect. The only way to get the other bunch is to get the AP chests that will contain the other side. Although its been such a long time since I got my last Radiant skin, I don’t remember if I got the choice between the skins or not.
you cannot get 80lvl items directly from drops in low level areas. you get them from champ bags, which are different story. also you get only tier1 materials from drops there
therefore i cannot comprehend what do you mean by “high level loot”. it’s not
from my point of view – “high level lootz” are tier5-6 mats, lodestones, cores and named exotics. can you get them from normal mobs in starter areas? no
as for champ bags, yes you can get those loots from them, but low level champs doesn’t always drop exotic bags as opposed to high level champs who always do
You absolutely can get 80 level drops in a 15 level zone. And outside of champ bags, as well. Its just a chance between area level, and character level. But materials never scale, which WOULD be a problem for the market.
