It might be that you cannot have 2 of the same item in there. I know that happens when you use runes to upgrade all of your armor, it doesn’t highlight those that already have the rune slotted. Might be entirely unable to do it. Put in a bug report/ticket, see if anything comes of it.

I’d like to point out they still have to finish world 3 and fix world 2. I understand why there’s been a delay in it’s release. coincidentally, I absolutely loved sab, but because of the clocktower, i’m not really fond of the team that works on it.

But… but the Clocktower was so much fun…

I agree, having a legendary “eat” a rune/sigil to add it to a list of available runes/sigils could also be a good alternative.

If they could also eat a transmutation charge to always have a skin available (not so much for weapons, but definitely for armor when it finally rears its head) I will be all for both.

Hello Fellow GW2 players

I was part of the beta testing, and i believed that despite a few shortcomings this mmo had great potential. However it has not changed since, and after a week of playing with friends, i could clearly see that this game did not quite live up to the hype. Now i am not sure what it’s missing (i am no amazing game developer), but i think many of us here in this thread can agree that GW2 is missing something.

I get that you don’t like the game, but why do people like you have to blatantly lie when you complain about the game?
People would take you much more seriously if you actually grounded your statements in actual facts rather than just lying in order to make things appear worse than they are.

I was a part of the beta. It had a lot of potential then. It was an accomplishment to kill a veteran, and you struggled when pulling more than 2 regular old monsters. That was fun and interesting. AI walked out of heavily damaging AoE and kited. That was fun and interesting. Particle effects could be dyed on armor. That was interesting and it was fun to try out different combinations.

Now we have easily killable everything (mostly due to we know the ins and outs)and AI that just stands there until it dies (mostly due to stacking) or changes targets for no discernible reason and plain Jane flames. I still play the game, but a lot of the fun in beta was scrapped.

A lot of the “fun” you speak of from the beta was mostly due to being new at the game and having only blues and greens to work with. Now that everyone is full exotic with reams of forum pages and wiki to craft the perfect build, killing mobs has never been easier.

It’s not that they “scrapped” anything from the beta. We’ve simply grown since then.

I don’t see AIs kiting or moving out of AoE (outside of switching targets for no discernible reason) anymore. Dye system was scrapped. Dyeing particle effects was scrapped. Energy potions were scrapped. First Person viewing was scrapped.

EDIT: And I do know that a lot of the reason its not challenging anymore is because we know what we are doing now (as I said in my post you replied to). But smarter AI is only beaten by knowing how it works. Dumb AI is beaten by cornering it and then burning it down because its not smart enough to walk away.

I’d like to see something like Catacombs of Juneau (Allods Online) in GW2, but I think it’s against the phylosophy of cooperation… still an awesome feature, a big confusing labyrinth where players face each other in “warparties” to earn goodies in the end, and if they ever make it alive from the labyrinth there’s a chance to face a powerful boss at the end (suited for a warparty size, which implies a maximum of 10) which can drop tokens for exclusive wings.

Now that I look back, Catacombs of Juneau’s atmosphere resembles Plains of Ashford’s Guild Puzzle.

Sounds a lot like Lunatic Inquisition without the big payout at the end.

It’s time to bring it back.

I miss it.

I want to play it.

Why can’t we permanently have it?

What do you want to do with it? Once you obtained all you can get, you’ll hardly, if ever, revisit the SAB.

SAB has a lot in common with 8-bit games and I think that includes the replayability.

People still play the original Mario games. They aren’t getting anything new or different from it, they just enjoy the content.

If people want to play mario games, they play mario games. If people want to play GW2, they most likely wont play SAB.

If you don’t like SAB. Just say you don’t and be done with it.

You’re in the minority.

I do like the SAB. I just don’t want to grind it as any other thing you can do in this game. Saying that I’m the minority is very cheesy.

If people want to play mario games, they play mario games. If people want to play GW2, they most likely wont play SAB.

I just bought mario for 3ds… and I play gw2 and I play SAB (also known as GW2) when it’s around. I don’t see your point.

How long will you play SAB? For more than 2 weeks? I rather want to have an update every half year than the box as permanent but irrelevant content.

Also, I’ve spent much time doing all the achievements and getting all the weapons. They’re rare. I want them to stay rare.

How would making it permanent stop us from getting other content? Its already been done, all they have to do is set it up once and be done with it. Just give us the new worlds when they’re done. Permanent is far better than temporary in the long run. Sure, you don’t run it all the time, but it is an available thing to do. And it is instanced, so its not like it’ll be “OMG ITS SO EMPTY DED GAME” that we hear frequently about Southsun.

I know I got a lot of use going through Tribulation Mode.

Trib mode yea I can see that. But, after nearly a 10 months w/o it? It just feels like a waste…exp with how high gem prices are now days.

At the time, though, they weren’t that bad. I feel alright with how much use I put into it, but I would definitely be very angry if SAB never comes back. Like, quitting for good angry. Its too fun a thing to just never bring it back. Heck, just bringing it back for a single weekend every month would be fantastic, even with only the worlds we currently have.

For a lot of the stuff recently made account bound I still can’t really use it, if I made it, on more than one character because I use a lot of racial armor. Sure, I could just make those parts again and then still swap them about, but then that’s an extra helm for my charr and chest, shoulders, and pants for my norn. Legendary weapons I can mostly use a little easier because I predominantly use crit in all of my builds, but you still would eventually hit a problem. It would be nice if they added an addendum to legendary items that allowed free removal of upgrades and swapping of skins, but I don’t think it will ever happen. I’ve said it before, but its a matter of getting an inch, and taking a mile. I wholeheartedly agree with you, but it most likely will never happen.

Given the abysmal quality of the Living Story, what makes people think that an expansion will be any better? I don’t need an expansion’s worth of horrible writing and embarrassingly bad lore.

Because an expansion would absolutely warrant the writing of Ree Soesbee, and considering reactions to just her being the one to mention this next season of LS says volumes about how people feel about her writing ability.

To me the whole game has seemed like an MMO put out and marketed by Peter Molyneux. “This is going to be the best game ever! Look at all this wicked sweet stuff we have going for us! Everything you hate about other games? Don’t even think about it, because it isn’t here!” They promised so much with the living world, but 2 week bursts of activity and then gone is not a living world. If we had gotten updates once a month (that were worked on for at least two months) and that provided maps that still had a draw after their initial story, it would have been perfect.

How would this be accomplished? Well, say that Southsun had hearts and exploring it counted towards world completion. All of a sudden people are there to get stuff done, so now it isn’t a dead zone. And then the people that don’t like the necessity of doing WvW exploration to get 100% have another PvE map to explore to get closer to the cap. Now imagine if all of our LS had been like that, and instead of adding another villain it was more along the lines of an alternate PS going after another dragon(which is more what it looks like we are about to get, so I’ll hold my breath for that).

The living world was promised to be so much more, but all we got was subpar(in my opinion) writing that was made glaringly obvious by only coming in short bursts.

Also, this is an MMO. You have to hold the people that pick up the game years from now and those that miss out into account. Imagine someone picking up the game in late 2015. They won’t know anything about Scarlet or Mord(all assumptions, but it certainly seems like we are gonna start the journey to him) because they will be dead and gone, but holy cow, how about that Zhaitan? Entire swaths of story only viewable in retrospect is not a terribly good idea, at least not in my opinion.

I know a problem I’ve only had for the past few weeks is when I go to sell an item from inventory, it sometimes keeps that items numbers for the next item I try to sell. Which is a little annoying when I list things for 2s over the lowest seller.

Yes, I’ve had this issue a few times myself recently.

If I use the right click menu in my inventory on Item A to “sell on trading post”, all items I sell during that transaction will attempt to use the “sell to highest buyer” and/or “match lowest seller” amount for Item A regardless of the item.

Good to know its not just me. Hadn’t heard anyone in my guild having the same issue.

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: BigfootArisen.6509

BigfootArisen.6509

I would say it’s closer to the 100-150% also for most people. The cost of getting it to 300% is very high and out of reach for many to do it quickly. If you salvage everything then the loss of the greens and blues to sell adds up. Most people don’t have the ectos to waste salvaging them either. It’s more the hard core salvagers that have 300%. And truthfully, it’s hard to see any increase in drops with the increase in MF, which means it doesn’t really feel important to increase MF.

Even so, a material that is account bound going from useful to just clutter is a terrible thing. Ascended materials are at least used for something, but Luck has zero uses outside of MF. They need to provide another use for those of us that are at 300% (not me) or that would prefer something else to be done with them. Maybe as a substitute for other materials.

I just saw a post on Reddit the other day where the guy hypothesized that the RNG for Black Lion chests includes the time in the string. He put forth that if you opened chests until you got a scrap, and then opened a chest every 3.7 seconds after that, you got a ticket every time. He had around 100 opens to back up his theory, and a number of other folks said they got the same results. If this is the case its entirely possible that you just missed that mark. For something that has so much of a cost, in the future, don’t open them all in the span of 20 seconds. I know I’m guilty of it myself, especially with a scroll wheel that left clicks on each click of the wheel.

Its not a projectile. There are a few others that I can think of off the top of my head that are just like it. Guardian staff, Mesmer greatsword, and Necromancer axe are all not considered to be projectiles and so are not reflected. Mesmer GS is a beam, Guardian staff is a wave, and Necromancer axe is… I don’t even know what it is. But it isn’t a projectile if it is a solid line or it starts at the target. Ranger warhorn bird call is another example. The birds just fly down, are ranged, but are not projectiles. Reflects only work on projectiles, but not on constants, instant spawns, or certain bosses that spam projectiles too often.

What kind of bad experience have you had? The wiki is literally the best source we have available to us. All of the recipes for ascending items are available and accurate. The only things that aren’t fully fleshed out is new content, like that the trait pages aren’t saying unlock parameters on them.

They are 1 ticket for a skin in their introductory period, and then generally jump to 5 tickets per skin. Fused are 7, IIRC.

Game Updates: Traits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: BigfootArisen.6509

BigfootArisen.6509

The requirements for the early traits are a bit too harsh. By the time you get your first Major Trait slot, I think you should have at least 6 different traits unlocked just for playing the game up to that point.

As I said earlier in the thread(don’t expect anyone to read back for it), this is my biggest problem with this system. No hands down. They want to increase build diversity by bring zerk closer to everything else, and then in the same patch they make it so new players can’t even look at their traits or even know they are a thing without looking at the wiki until level 30? In what way does this help build diversity in the slightest? Saying they did it because people didn’t understand the system is a crock because this system is more obtuse than the old one ever was. Just giving a point as they are now every 5 levels starting at 15 and going back to 40 Master and 60 Grandmaster would be perfect. No more 14/14/14/14/14 celestial builds(which they brought up in one of the ready ups). Make adept traits unlock in a reasonable manner and not make them based entirely off of “Trait Line -> Number -> Do This Content For Trait” and the system would be fine. Great, even.

Why would they remove underwater fighting in PvP?

I don’t see them removing it PvE, so many maps would have to change if they did.

The dev said it was to streamline the process of making PvP templates. Remove the need of underwater weapons, underwater breather, runes and sigils. Also because, as they perceived, a majority of people loathed underwater combat for PvP.

It has not been ignored. I don’t recall where the post was, but they said they are working on it now. Its actually part of the reason they removed underwater combat from PvP entirely. Make it easier on them to remove 6 items and a whole set of skills from the template.

In short: IT’S HAPPENING. Just not yet. Later this year, most like, in the next feature patch.

If I were to read between the lines, I’d assume that either water is going to be removed from PvE or that what they were talking about is only going to be for PvP.

In that light, I’ll go ahead and say I’d really like this feature in all game modes. Further, I’d like it if it worked like the one in GW1. At least in that the number of builds you have is only limited by the disk space available on your computer.

My guess is only the equipment template will go live in PvP, whereas we will get the skill/trait templates in all modes. The equipment templates in GW1 would have been impossible to bring over to PvE, but they made sense in PvP seeing as PvP characters were completely, 100% unable to go into PvE for stuff.

There were already 2 tengu tribes on Tyria before GW:Factions was released.
And one more tribe came with EotN, that has NOTHING to do with Cantha.
Even if tengu is from the eastern mythology …. they are not from Cantha!!!

Because Cantha is where we first saw the friendly tengu? Both the Caromi and the Avicara were 100% hostile, as well as the Quetzal. Whereas we had the Angchu who were friendly (also the Sensali, but they were jerks) and were driven out of Cantha by the Ministry of Purity. It would only lead me to assume that they would want to go back home at some point, just like the Charr wanted Ascalon back.

Apparently some traits even require map completion, which seems kind of overboard to me.

Map completion of maps considerably higher than the level it is to actually use the trait, at that. Such as Iron Marches, Dredgehaunt Cliffs, Fireheart Rise, and Frostgorge Sound. Oh and also up to personal story level 59 (that I know of, some may be higher) and story mode completions of dungeons, such as Sorrow’s Embrace. All of these things, for level 36 trait spots. Seriously needs rethinking.

There is a main thread, but it is now 17 pages long and growing. This thread will probably end up shuffled onto the end.

It is a very poorly implemented system. WvW players don’t foray into PvE very much, so forcing them to do so after all this time is just silly. And expecting PvP players to either play all the way to Orr, or shell out hundreds of wins worth of rewards for a couple of traits is just bassackwards. Requiring the exact same unlocking parameter for 8 different traits across 8 different classes solely based on the number they are is so lackluster it hurts. The whole reward system has to be mulled over again. I’m fine with doing content to unlock things, just make that content reasonable/not obtuse.

Well considering they’ve never made an appearance anywhere in the Guild Wars 2 universe… It seems fairly nonsensical. There are some extinct species on Tyria, however, but with sweet moves like that it is hard to ascertain how one would become extinct.

My guess is that with the little fanfare at the end that we will be seeing 16bit llamas in SAB world 3.

As far as I know, they steal accounts via email spam posts and probably from the people who make the mistake of buying gold/items from them.

Seeing as a lot of the accounts I have blocked are along the lines of advkjfhs.####, at least most of what I have seen have been bought accounts for the express purpose of botting and gold selling. I have very few actual names on my block list.

One problem I have noticed, on top of all the others. The little map viewer to show you where you get something? It should show you the lay of the land like a Scout. A Scout shows you exactly that while you are looking at it, and then leaves heart events shown. As it is now, you just see the stylized map if you haven’t been there. This is just silly. What is even the point of it if it gives you no real information?

To be noted, though. I have never been in the map at the time of looking. It could be another symptom of megaservers and just not showing anything because you aren’t in the map at the time.

Most likely either Halloween or the anniversary sale. In the latter, it WILL be before Halloween, but only by about 2 months.

Don’t only report. Block as well. This is not only stemming from the megaserver, this is also the fact that there was a sale, and the botters and gold sellers bought quite a lot of new accounts, I’m sure.
