Request: "you've unlocked this skin" tooltip

Well, salvaging any item unlocks it in your wardrobe, so that won’t be an issue.

From the blog:

‘Skins can be unlocked by using consumables, equipping items, salvaging equipment, or right-clicking on equipment and account-binding it.’

Lol, ninja’d.

I forgot about that little bit. Yeah, there should be no problems at all then. Salvage stuff once and you’re good.

High level loot in starter lands

We don’t get our level of materials or bags dropped. Only the equipment. While it would be very nice to just continue getting the drops for that area, thus cutting the cost of the middle range of materials, the entire reason for the change is to keep people in the non end-game areas. The whole model of GW2 is you can fight ANYWHERE and still get rewards. They won’t take away our high level equipment drops in low level areas.

At the very least we will have the wardrobe itself to show us what we do and don’t have. It would be nice to have a tooltip tell us if we already unlocked this skin, and I bet we will have something like this. Only time will tell, though.

Disspelling town clothes panic...

I’m not sure everything is becoming either an ‘outfit’ or a ‘tonic’.

I say this because of this response:

Curtis Johnson

Narthexia.1836:

will there be individual mix and match pieces in future releases? Or will they all be complete sets?

We will continue to release mix and match armor skin pieces.

I guess we will find out more on the 15th. =)

Note the word “armor” in that reply, when what was being asked about was town clothes/outfits. In other words, they’ll continue to put out new Light/Medium/Heavy armor stuff, but not any mix and match non-armor stuff.

Remember that after the update, there will be no town clothes period, just armor skins. So it is completely possible that he is just calling town clothes armor.

That’s how it goes here. Anything that can be considered a bad word becomes “kitten”.

Not to belittle your problem, but that would be far too much work. There are already some skins that don’t fall into the fantasy trope of less armor protects better. The amount of work to convert skins to the frame of the opposite sex would be a nightmare. It would look like stretched charr armor if they didn’t spend a considerable amount of time on the endeavor. I know that I would very much so like to have male Phalanx on my female warrior, but it will never happen. It sucks, but they have bigger fish to fry.

Will prices skyrocket after april 15th patch

It will probably be a little bit of the opposite in the case of dyes, at least at first. Prices will probably remain more or less where they are at for the skins, at least for a while, but they will eventually start to climb as supplies dwindle. Ditto for dyes, at least in the eventual climb after the drop from people flooding the TP with dyes from their freebie unids.

Do you mean switch the entire body to that of the opposite sex, or just make it so the skin of the male armor on a female frame?

Combining Gear to Sets/ bundles

They could even monetize it by selling the kit to bundle our gear. 400 gems to bundle 2 sets of armor, weapons, and trinkets to switch with a double click would certainly be worth it to me.

Have you ever broken ALL of your armor?

BigfootArisen.6509

I have broken all my armor, but that was in the labyrinth on my thief while leveling. I went in level 30 or something, and came out level 80, still in the same armor. I then didn’t even repair it, just bought my zerk gear and went to it.

Make Ascended stats unlockable like Wardrobe

So, you’re getting an inch and you want the mile? This system has already been in the game with unlimited use harvesting tools. They aren’t going to make ascended stats available across characters just because it is so HARD to unequip and bank them.

Never said it was hard, but it is very unpractical and how is this ‘stretching for the mile’?
My solution is not only a much more convenient system, but will not provide any advantages to the system that will arrive on the 15th other than being more convenient.

If you have an ascended zojja heavy helmet, you can just bank it and trade it around characters as you like. This is technically an unlimited zojja heavy helmet stat, just a very unpractical and messy method. Rather than trading the helmet around where it’s needed, you unlock the stat and can distribute it to any heavy helmet. Same idea, easier execution.

Its a phrase. Given an inch, and taking a mile. Its the exact same thing as the permanent banking golem, the permanent stylist kit, the unlimited harvesting tools, the endless tonics, and miniatures. It would be WAY easier to make it so you can access everything from anywhere on every single character at any time, but that doesn’t mean its going to happen. They are making it so it is even possible to trade around those things that were so hard to make, and you want to go even further, making it so you don’t even need the item for each character. You want it that you make the armor ONCE, and can get it on your guardian, your warrior, your other guardian, and three other warriors, all on different items with their own skins. Getting an inch, and taking a mile.

Wardrobe/Transmutation question

BigfootArisen.6509

I believe I read somewhere that you will only keep the skins from the LATEST transmutation. So that would mean you wil get the T3 skin and whatever you had just before that.

What I read was the FIRST and LAST, which would mean he would get the Inquest and the T3. They wouldn’t say first if it was only the last 2 skins.

There was a sort order in GW1. It would be nice to have it back, or to have the choice between sort and most recent played.

People do them, yes. Depends on the server, though. Blackgate does a LOT of stuff. And yes, there is a site for timers, but it is player run, so error is possible.

Dec. 10th Balance Preview - Updated Nov 6th.

I have no idea if anyone said anything along these lines, but why take away thief vigor? In order to proc Vigorous Recovery you have to burn your heal skill. If you’re using Malice with the Signet Use trait, then you are without heal for 12 seconds (this is the shortest recharge available). 4 seconds of vigor is only helpful if you have already been dodging, so it can recover immediately, and then you get maybe one more useful dodge, if you’re lucky. That just seems like too big of a trade off. At least if you are going to reduce our dodging so much, make it so Expeditious Dodger gives us more than 2s of swiftness. That would be an acceptable trade off, in my opinion.

I know I’m already biased because I am an evasion/init gain thief, but this balance just makes me want to quit my thief because my entire build is dead. Halved init from signets, absolutely terrible proc rate of Opportunist, Assassin’s Reward moved to grandmaster, and Flanking Strikes moved to master, where I am already using either Ricochet or Initial Strikes. I don’t even do the best damage, its just a really fun build, and it is completely shut down because of modes other than PvE.
