Honestly if they just give me the ability to buy a permanent portal pass for a few gems I’d do it. It doesn’t really improve much at higher levels. Yeah, you earn silver more easily. But it still sucks when it costs 3 silver to travel to Orr.

Something I’ve noticed with the exotics in this game is that certain combinations are way easier to obtain than others. For example, I’m trying to go Power/Vit/Healing as per the Cleric’s set. There is no dungeon or mystic item that gives these stats, and frankittenhose are the most easily obtainable exotics in the game. It seems silly that some attribute spreads are so easy to obtain while others are comparatively difficult to get.

Vistas are a huge problem for disabled gamers.

Okay thank you for actually being understanding about this. You can still be okay at this game and have troubles with these vistas due to issues with fine motor control.

All I’m saying is that there should be slightly more leeway with some of these jumps. Most jumps in this game are perfectly fine and not an issue. But there are ones, usually involving trees, which have a punishing margin of error. Platforming in an MMO isn’t really fun to begin with. There’s really no reason to make it extra difficult like that.

I’m writing this because I think that I, like many disabled gamers, have been having huge issues with the vistas in GW2. I’d say that most are generally fine. But there are things like the Vizier’s tower which are unnecessarily vindictive to people with impaired motor function. I would really appreciate it if some concessions were made on certain vistas like this. It’s no fun falling and repeating the same thing over and over again because of your disability. Especially when it’s an essential function towards getting map completion.

Dungeons: Just not finding them fun at all.

Is this the golem spawning part? You need to pull agro away from Zoja, stay within the room. run around on the outer area of the room, dont be near Zoja. Try to be near or beside the golems as they spawn it helps to take agro onto you and off Zoja.

Yeah, that’s the part. I was wondering if that would work. It probably would have been better than two of my teammates and their strategy of “camp on Zojja.”

First of all, is it a bug that Zojja’s progress resets every time she dies even if the group doesn’t wipe?

Secondly, how does a group pull aggro from Zojja? It seems incredibly difficult to keep her alive and I wasted almost 10 silver on that dungeon trying to finish that part before finally giving up.

I was thinking that regardless of how you feel about bans, having a cool animation like Dhuum in GW1 would be a neat little feature. Dhuum doesn’t seem to be around anymore in GW2 lore, so something more fitting would have to be thought up.

My idea would be to have a small-ish dragon champion pop-up, imprison the character in a crystal (possibly ice or obsidian depending on the dragon it’s aligned with) and then proceeds to fly off with the crystal, the character screaming out it’s “falling to death” scream."

Minor hijack: it would be nice if the dance commands weren’t race specific. Maybe I want my Asura to do the Haka. Why can’t there be an /haka command?

No way. The dungeons are not too hard, they are doable for everyone that knows how to play its class. No need to nerf them.

Seriously, dungeons are just fine. The only thing I’d tweak is the HP. More HP does not mean more difficult. A lot of the time it just means that the fight is boring since it takes longer than it should even though the outcome has been determined.

+1 to this, I’d love to see more non-combat ways to earn money. As it stands right now you can’t really earn money unless you really know the meta-game. Casual players can’t really earn money at a good rate once you start getting into the higher levels.

I’ll disagree, there is still power advancement in exotics. They’re clearly superior to lower rarity items and incredibly hard to achieve because of their costs. If you want to say there is no power advancement then items like this need to have their costs greatly decreased.

I am beginning to wonder if Arenanet even reads the Dynamic Events sub-folder of this forum. Not one comment on DE’s and their diminished returns. It really does make you wonder why they haven’t said one thing on the subject.

Arenanet have already commented and said it isn’t working as intended, what more could they add? There’s certainly nothing new here, just more whining. Give them time and they will sort it out. Meanwhile there are plenty of other things to do in the game and this only effects a small (but vocal) minority anyway who aren’t really playing the game for it’s content.

Have they commented on if they’re going to fix the silver rewards or just karma?

I’ve been farming trolls and attempting to find events in Orr. The problem is that nobody points out when events are starting. And when i get to them I have a hard time tagging mobs.

So for over a week I’ve been trying to get enough money for an exotic set and the best I’ve managed to do is get about 3 gold. What’s the cheapest and most efficient way to go about this? Because at this rate it’ll be months before I manage to get a full exotic set.

I see people talking about the lack of Karma, but I’m having a bigger problem with the fact that dynamic events aren’t giving enough of a monetary reward. 1 Silver isn’t enough to entice a level 80 player to participate in a level 80 event unless it’s some kind mob farm.

Has anyone figured out a good way to calculate when meta events like Jormag’s claw or the Shadow Behemoth will happen? I’d love to do these types of events but don’t particularly feel like waiting around 3+ hours for them to happen.

I think the rewards, not just karma rewards, should be increased. As it is nobody seems to do DEs once they hit 80. And even when they do dynamic events it’s just so they can farm. You never see anyone doing the “collect x number of y items” or escort events.

Personally, I want the T3 so I can get the achievement. I’m not that interested in the skins per se (probably because the only one I’d really like to have is the Norn heavy, but my Norn is a ranger, but that’s another topic).

I agree that T3 has to be difficult to get, but atm it seems to be a little too much for something that is just a skin as far as gameplay is concerned. Also note, that you can’t even transmute them without buying the gem store transmutation kits.

Just playing the game (no dungeons and no boring grind of anything) I’ll take about half a year to 3/4 of a year to get ONE full set of T3 cultural armour. My other idea to just “buy” it with gems -> gold quickly ended in a brick wall because that would cost about £760 per full set. That’s more than what I pay for my rent. lol

My solution: I will work on other achievements and just enjoy what I normally do without fretting too much about those T3 cultural armours.

See, that’s a shame though. Nobody is going to wear the cultural armor because it’s too much of a time/money sink. Most of the cultural armor I’ve seen is pretty fantastic looking, and it would be nice to see people running around with those looks.

Waypoint costs have to go.

Disagree with the OP. Waypoints are a convenience, conveniences should cost gold. MMO’s need gold sinks to keep infinite inflation in check and like it or not this is a great way to do it as they are very minimal costs but add up over time so you barely notice it but while keeping a good outflow of gold going out of the economy.

They should have a cost, but the cost should be scaled to the area you are going to. Why should I have to pay 2 copper to go to an area where I know I’ll just have to eat the loss? It’s already obscenely hard to make money already.

Badges of honor need an increased drop rate and auto loot.

I don’t mind a reasonable grind for cosmetic items. But as it stands it’ll be weeks before I can get my exotics set. I earn about 1 gold a day. The set I want costs around 30 gold. Assuming no other costs come up (which they will) it’ll be over a month before I can compete with other players in wvw.

Heck, I can’t even use my real world money to get a decent amount of gear due to the wacky conversion rate.

I just don’t see the point in making the cultural gear so hard to get. The idea is that it’s supposed to be specific to that race. It’s not like it’s super-legendary gear that only a few people in setting have. Heck, you can’t even craft it like other legenary gear.

The biggest problem I’m seeing is that nobody seems to do dynamic events once they reach the level cap outside of the “kill x swarms of whatever” events. But people only do those so they can farm. The events themselves give next to no incentive for max level players to complete.

The problem there would be the costs (each piece costs 30K plus karma or so) and the fact that your stat choices are somewhat limited.

I had also been throwing around two other ideas that might help with this:

Mystic slot: something of a variation of the mystic forge. In this case you simply toss in x-number of Mystic coins and you get a chance at high-level loot. The percentage increases with each coin.

Daily dynamics: in short, you get a bonus for completing your first dynamic event with a Gold rating. Or alternatively the gain will point you to a specific event that you need to complete. This has the added bonus of encouraging people to go to places they might not normally travel to.

Okay, so I’ve been trying for about a week to work up to the 30+ gold needed for my first exotic set and I’m finding that it’s really hard to earn money unless you do ecto farming on Orr. Other than that I’ve seen no way to get rewards that scale to your level. To complicate matters farming is supposedly limited by an algorithm. That discourages farming, but whatever. If that’s how they want to play that’s fine by me. I on the other hand really do not like dungeons or mat farming. I think to compensate for this and to encourage people “playing there way” that rewards need to be more appropriately scaled for dynamic events. With armor repair, waypoint, and resource costs the way they are I think it’s perfectly reasonable for dynamic events to give out around 7-10 silver, as opposed to the 2 or so it seems to currently max out at.

So I’ve recently reached level 80 and I’m beginning to try and get a set of exotics and even tough it will be a while before I am able to get exotics I’d like to pin down what would be the most efficient armor for my class.

The spread of Vitality/Condition/Healing seems the most natural since I do a lot of healing and burning. But I keep hearing conflicting reports. Some people tell me that you can’t get that spread as an exotic. But I’ve clearly seen that the Jalis Armor of the Dolyak gives this spread. Although nobody seems to be able to say where and how you get this armor. But even if I knew how to get this armor, I’m not sure if there are better options I should be looking into.

I’ve never seen a level 80 exotic set with the shaman prefix. But maybe I haven’t been looking hard enough.

I don’t think it’s a craftable sorta thing but if you want the stats you can always Transmute it to something you crafted with heavier armor

I’ve had this conversation in game with some people and we’ve yet to come to a consensus on this. Is it possible to craft exotic armor that gives these bonuses at level 400 armorsmithing? So far the only armor I’ve seen that gives this benefit is the Jalis armor of the Dolyak, and nobody has been able to tell me how you find/craft this armor.

…the token system that you have designed REQUIRES players to speed-farm dungeons in order to get the armor/weapon rewards, so why are you punishing that? If you don’t want people to speed-farm a dungeon, don’t design it so that they need to run it literally 80 times in order to realize the token rewards for it.

What bugs me is that dungeon rewards were a really nice way to make a decent amount of money in a hurry. I honestly don’t know what Anet expects of higher-level players. Just by virtue of being higher level and having to deal with higher-tier everything your costs increase dramatically, but your earnings never seem to scale similarly. Are we just expected to farm and then sell components for legendary items? Well that’s no fun, because Orr is awful.

Or, you know, you could just run a different path and have restored rewards?

Am I the only one that loves this patch? The fact that Arenanet is giving players the incentive to run other paths now is great. No more “NOPE ONLY DOING EASY PATH SORRY”

Are the restored rewards equal to the old rewards? Because I’m hearing that people are making around 2 silver a run now.

Also I’m not particularly happy with the solution of “add champions.” In my experience champions aren’t actually more difficult, they just have more HP which aggravates my biggest problem with dungeons. Long fights are boring fights. If you’re going to make a long fight you have to switch things up a bit. But these fights don’t do that. It’s the same fight from 100% health to 0% health.

Actually, this is a great example of why Anet needs to release concrete patch notes. Because I’m hearing wildly different stories about what dungeons give what rewards right now. Which leads me to believe that now it’s being calculated based on what dungeon you did and how many times you’ve done it (possibly in a 24-hour cycle.)

I have no problem with the difficulty of the dungeons. But I do have a problem with the fact that the APPARENT difficulty of the dungeons is artificially inflated by giving everything huge amounts of hitpoints. No matter how challenging a fight is it’ll just become boring if it drags on too long.

I don’t have a problem with them making dungeons harder. My problem is with the fact that the fights are still boring. You can have challenge without artificially inflating the perceived challenge by making everything just piles of hitpoints. You could reduce the HP of every single enemy in every dungeon by 33% and they would still be just as difficult.

Also, is it true that dungeons are dropping less than 2 silver now? Who the heck is going to be running dungeons now that the rewards have been nerfed so bad?

@Canoas Well, it seemed rarer than most. I had never seen a level 80 exotic set with both +Condition damage and +Healing. The TP didn’t even have a full set for sale.

Is there any way to speed that process up? That seems really slow, especially when you add in all of the expenses you have to pay on top of that low rate.

Right, I kind of figured that would be the way to go (well, except for cultural armor which I don’t think can be crafted.) The problem is getting that 3 gold per exotic item. Although from what I’ve seen it was more like 6. The exotic armor with the stat combination I want is apparently a super rare combination.

So I was adventuring in this new region I discovered when I came across this canyon full of Spiders. These Spiders were a little bit different from the usual ones I’ve come across in that they use a web attack that renders you unable to use skills or defend yourself. I was quickly defeated and had to teleport back (money) and repair my armor (more money). These kinds of things wouldn’t bother me if there were a decent way to get free of them but the idea seems to be “you either dodge or you die.” which isn’t very fun and leads to more wasted money. I feel like there should be an action prompt that would allow you to free yourself in these instances because significantly lower level enemies shouldn’t be able to kill you quite that easily.
