PUT THE “GUILD WARS” BACK IN GUILDWARS

Now first of all i would like to say i would like a guild hall that is perhaps instanced, but it is somehow linked and can be invaded AT ANY TIME IN REAL TIME, now to conteract this statement, make it so that guilds can hire guards (that are weaker then us, so we feal like actual heros, and our enenmeis feal like elite enemies)
Im just thinking out oud for the top part.

TL;DR VERSION

Ok so as you know you can claim outposts for your guild, i think this is a clever idea, and can be expanded and improved apon to make somthing truly unique to guild wars and bring the guild back into guild wars.

Think of it as your own guild hall in wvw.

first of all i say increase the incentive for guilds to claim a fort and add more features.

*(Note: Most of these have 2 tiers, even the FIRST teir ex:Replace repairman with your own need to be upgraded, so when you first claim an area you have to research even the basic guild advantages, that even counts for the ability to place your guild bonus flags in wvw at your keep)

Replace repairman with your own Guild Repair merchant
If you guild claims a fort, make all repairs ONLY at said fort free for ONLY your guild members.
This can be upgraded to repair for half the price to NON guild members
ofcourse only at your claimed fort.
(this is an upgrade and would take some sort of points / gold / influence, but just claiming should allow your guild to have free repairs at this area)

Commander aura give a small 10 % boost in stats to ONLY guild members in a raiduis around claimed fort, the radious should extend a decent way outside of the fort.
Upgrade: Your guild can then upgrade the commander aura to give 5 % all stat increase to any players inside radious near your claimed fort.

Claimed defence Once your guild claims a keep, let the guild place bowcarts/trebs/reinforced walls/Oil/ANYTHING 15 percent faster But only INSIDE and RIGHT OUTSIDE claimed fort.

Upgrade:Your guild can then further upgrade this using some sort of point currency and or gold to let ANYONE on your team to build defences within claimed fort area 8 percent faster.

Guild Supply If theirs a supply area inside claimed keep/area your guildmates can carry / take 33% more supply with them

Upgrade: This can be upgraded so any fellow teamates can take 20% more supply from the supply area in claimed keep.

Guild Spawn All your guild mates can spawn here for free aslong as this is not contested and your guild has claimed said place

Asuran Alarm System Sends a signal which displays in the Guild page log when claimed guild fort/place is under siege. If you also have Guild spawn, you can click alert to insta spawn at said claimed fort, aslong as its not contested yet.

Asuran Stealth Detector System Will spawn a tower that has 1 skill that detects stealth characters in an area that surrounds your claimed fort it reaches outside the fort for a nice perimeter,
Cool down : 10 minutes (needs to be long maybe longer, this is a niche thing that could be useful and could not depending on situation) (Stealthed units will be forced to go unstealthed if caught in the area)

Upgrade: attaches Asuran Tracking “frequncifer” (visually creates another part that looks like an asuran tech equiv to a satalite, but not too much.
This upgrade will cost a lot and take a long time to complete building but it essentially will mark enemies on your map just like a party member, except its in red – this would last 20 seconds only.

(note: both parts of this would take a long long time to build and cost a ton, price would have to be tweaked until only guilds who have owned an area for a long long time would be able to even build the first unupgraded part of this, this would be accomplished by making it have a build time just like current guild upgrades, except would take like a few days and if the area gets taken over once, you lose all guild things even if you manage to re-take fort.

So heres some rough draft ideas that im throwin around to make guilds seem more guildy and but the guildwars back in guildwars.

Guild flags this one is already in the game i beleive, but im not sure if its how i want it to be to encourage guilds to claim areas, so make it that guilds can only place their free guild booster stat flags (ex. guild karma buff flag, guild magic find bonus flag)
AFTER theive claimed and researched guild flags.

Also the enemy invaders would get an even NICER added bonus if they capture a GUILD CLAIMED fort / area thus giving incentive to target these guild operated outposts , that plus the fact once a guild is in charge they have many options to give their team an edge, will create mini proxy battles.

Why is a.net making ALOT of things account / soulbound? It seems to me it just makes the AWESOME open market setup this mmo has and turning a 180 and telling us what we can and cannot sell.

Sometimes guildwars (In my opinion) seems a little to childish or geared towards younger female players.

Ex. The mini’s all look sort of “cute” i would like a mini that made sence THEN i possibly wouldn’t mind them being account bound, like for example, im in a pirate clan called ahoy, now my character is a guardian in heavy armor, if you looked at him you wouldn’t think hes a pirate at all. Anyway somthing like a pelican / eagle / owl that would follow you and possibly land on your shoulder would fit the lore and aesthetic of a guardian warrior who is a stone cold killer and sort of a fanatic that uses an owl to scout ahead.

Basicly i feal gw2 lacts some immersion in order to open up to a younger / girlier audience. Which is fine for the most part, just dont over do it, give us fans of a more dark rpg experince a chance also, perhaps for a necro give him a zombie that is on a leash that is chain that connects to his belt (like the walking deads ’ michone) i know thats not an original idea, but THATS something i know the more mature players would like.
(When i say mature i don’t mean people who like little plushy dolls following them around immature, just the fact that having a mini human being or a mini doll follow you around breaks immersion, seeing one of the most powerful cut throat assasins with a DOLL PLUSHY QUAGAN FOLLOWING him around.

How bout a wolf mini, would be similair to ranger pets i know, but just for looks AND it would ADD to immersion instead of breaking it.

I hope someone understands what im trying to say, i want more gw2 stuff that makes sence with the lore, and i hope they can make the lore in gw2 more polarized and apparent.

You cannot honestly tell me the ele with the mf gear gonna do the same amount of damage as the ele without the mf gear. Its just not possible.

Yes it is. Maybe the Ele with Magic Find used it in place of a third stat toughness or vitality upgrade because they are better at mitigating their damage, managing their endurance and attunement dancing for defense. So they are still doing as much damage as the Ele without MF, they just didn’t upgrade wasted points in to a trait they didn’t need.

Just something that i like to mention here is say you do swap the 3rd stat say you sacrifice vitality for mf once again you made yourself weaker and easier to kill

Thats the skill part of this game that everyone keeps talking about. If you don’t take damage, or are good enough to limit the damage you take, then you lose nothing by going pwr/pre/mf and neither does your team.

This is what people are trying to get through to you. I can only assume you have come from another MMO where your characters were defined purely by numbers. That’s not how GW2 works.

Look at Magic Find as a reward for skilled players that can use the trait without it affecting their play. If you are good enough to not need that defensive trait, then have some better drops. If you aren’t good enough and are using MF anyways, enjoy the repair bill that negates its benefit.

Sort of how higher level Fractals have better drops for people that take up the challenge.

Once the idea that players who can know how to play reactively and defensively enough to keep themselves alive trumps pure points in toughness/vitality finally sinks in for you then the idea of MF and the games combat system itself, will probably become a lot clearer.

You don’t understand, Magic find isn’t fun, it doesn’t have to do with skill, wouldn’t you rather not be forced to use magic find? Also if you EVER die or get downed, or recieve damage then your whole arguement is thrown out and you could have used the vit,(not to mention crit damage or more damage stats so that arguement is not valid)
the point is MAGIC FIND IS REDUNDANT, so you can sacrafice vit for mf, so can i, MOST PEOPLE CAN SACRAFICE VIT FOR MF AND STILL PRETTY GOOD OR ALMOST AS GOOD and YES we both can not be that much of a hinderence to our team with mf gear (but like i said, mf takes away more damage, crit chance, vit, toughness, crit damage that you could have in place).

THATS THE POINT, IS HAVING A MF STAT ON YOUR ARMOR IS REDUNDANT

Make it a bonus for lvling past 80, it would be VERY slight, and make it once you die you lose your “mf points” and you start back at lvl 80.

Also we can make magic find in guild boosts and the like still exist, also even keep magic find food, im just saying :

When -ANYONE- can equip magic find armor and still do ok, it becomes redundant

Hey but to each his own and im glad they’re their for people who enjoy looking at them or whatever.

I’m just wondering are they all account bound? I wish they weren’t so i could sell them like in gw1, mini’s made me rich!

If they are all account bound im not even gonna bother making them, its a shame the stuff you need to craft it them is also account bound too.

I’m hoping im wrong though, and that is why this thread exists.

And if anet is reading this, – i love you, keep up the good work BUT for the love of god hire a full team for ballence, 2 people doesn’t cut it for a game this big.

Another thing you can do is sanct/Line of warding/retreat. Make sure your not targeting anything behind you and GS leap. If your fortunate after that further get away with JI by targeting a enemy or mob in front of you. Even if its out of reach you will still take off towards it. Also don’t forget your aegis to asorb a hit.

As well as sceptor’s/focus 5 skill to asorb some more hits. Or do a smooth spin lock in place with sceptor and back around keep booking it.

i dont use a gs i use sword/focus / staff

may consider sceptor but so far staff seems better mid range weapon as it goes thru walls and is aoe, and it actually hits stuff.

Retreat for long speed boost. Use GS leap. Use blink ob sword. Judges intervention. Use sceptre and hammer immobalise. There are options.

ive tried all these things its not enough.

im not talking about facing new players or unexperinced players, you guys are telling me the obvious ways to catch people that ive tried, im talking about players who know how to use their cripples/speedboosts/dodges/25 percent speed boost/panic button/invisability/ (which now every class has cept engi and guardian thanx to update)

I use hammer + scepter/shield and have no problems keeping people controlled and stop them from getting away (other than eles with their mist form -.-). If you don’t like scepter then try a 1h sword for the teleport on that instead. I do like having a (somewhat) ranged option personally… but agree that the scepter needs some love.

2 roots, ji + RoW (lol and watch people faceplant trying to get out of it), and 2 kittendowns with banish & Shield of Absorption… that is a LOT of control.

As far as getting away… I use JI to port away and onto a random mob, and save yourselves for the protection + swiftness… they are also both stun breakers.

I also use full runes of the pack to give me swiftness when hit and increase swiftness duration… if you’re running AH it also heals you. That 5% swiftness proc activates often when running away… since I’ll usually have a lot of people pew pewing at me and has saved my life many times.

Pack runes + 2h mastery + the staff makes getting across the map in WvW a breeze as well.

Also use your judgements well… having virtue of courage traited for 3s of stability is nice… with renewed focus it’s 6s total plus that invuln time… should help stop them from rooting you etc… but that’s dependent on what your build allows.

Hopefully this helps and shows that being able to catch and escape isn’t just about swiftness. It’s often more about your total mobility and control.

i know its not about switfness, i constantly use save yourselves, stand your ground, and i have 10 in virtues i always use my virtues when im escaping / chasing i dont use meditations, i would like to think im a pretty experinced educated gw2 player ive had the game for 3 months now. and i have 5 characters

but lets not invoke non realism where a rabbit can one hit a lvl 80, or where a dragon has 1 hp, or where you a gun doesnt do any damage or were falling 10000 feet is survable or explosions do kno damage.

Some realism is cool, fantasy genre’s anrt devoid of ANY realism gravity exists, their ARE rules they can just be bent.

The combat system is the BEST IVE EVER EXPERINCED. That guy is only right about the story, the story is horrible, why couldnt they have hired me? I’de be their story righter for 12 dollars an hour aslong as it was permanet and i would come up with WAY better storys then the ones were told here, hell even just copy a good story with your own gw spin on it and it would be miles ahead of what we got now.

Also the personal story needs more grouped missions with more narration and epic fealing, phopecies had the epic fealing SOMETIMES but it just got redic when you had 8 people trying to kill one dwarf for 5 min, its more fun fighting hordes of enemies then just slapping a lvl 1 looking char in their iwth 100000000hp, makes you feal weak, make us heros, if you want us to fight high hp bosses please make them look epic and give them reason for being so strong.

TL;DR VERSION:

NO TRINITY, NUMBERS GAMES ARE BORING, WOW IS BORING 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, REPEAT IS NOT FUN

i do agree that we need more types of game mechanics for dungeons and such.

I never figured this out, a guardian is my main, now i use all i can (flashingblade, the staff speed boost,the shout that increases speed. But no matter what they still out run me since i cant cripple, and i know theirs 1 ultilty skill that imobilizes but i cant use it due to my build because its a garbage signit, and sceptor is a joke so i tend to not use that imobalize.

I put over 100k into my guardian i just want to learn how to correctly melee targets as im doing somthing wrong their has to be a way to keep a target in range, or els they wouldnt make a guardian a melee oriented character…right?

i do use 1 hand sword / focus its not enough when all classes now have permanent 25 percent speed boost and i also use staff for second set

Magic find is an old mechanic that is not fun, but we feal its mandatory

Magic find, promotes players to not be their best they can be, hinder their teamates which is greedy and not cool, magic find needs to be gone from mmos, just make rng based with no magic find and it would be basicly the same thing as having magic find. Think about it.

Getting rid of magic find is innovative

How can you not agree? think of it having magic find really brings nothing to the table except pointless extra grind, if the loot tables are optimized for a no magic find game, players wouldnt notice a difference and we could focus more on having fun with the gear WE WANT instead of having to be underpowered in magic find gear which isnt fun.

Don’t say we have a choice

Remove MF, buff/fix drop rates. Everyone wins. MF is redundant, everyone can get lots of MF its not hard to get, it’s not very expensive, so why not just make that the standard and remove it completely?

Also why do max stat rare backpacks (not including ascended i heard their slightly better) have such low stats compared to everything els at lvl 80?

Ex. 14 vit
14 tough
20 power

Question 1: does the trait empowering might stack with sigil of str?

Question 2: can i put sigil of strength in my focus offhand and have it work for my sword attacks still?

Question 3- I would like to make a dps/burster guardian thats sort of tanky, i do have 60 percent crit chance and 2200 power, about 1700hp and 1600 toughness, (1500 vitality also)
and 1700 precision, is this tanky enough? im not worried about precision as my crit dmg and crit chance are perfect, now 17k hp seems pretty devent but i heard 1600 toughness is low?

Is this tanky enough?

ps: were can i have max lvl back items, is the 5 gold back piece from the guild vender max stats (not couting ascended) i would like a max lvl 80 back piece, i cant find em in the tp and why the heck if the guild vendor 5 gold one is max stat, why does it cost 5 gold!!??.

im trying to twink this char out im basicly done cept sigils and backpeice

I’ll be trying this again very soon, and no my guardian was lvl 75ish when i posted i am now lvl 79 and i have enough money to gear myself up

Will re-try this build asap and u kno.

ps: i forget if we went over this but is this build viable for wvw and dungeons pvp aswell? when i tried this meditation build in dungeons before the damage seemed really mediocre compared to my build, which is more about buffs and all around applying blinds and high stacks of vuln all while stacking might each hit, and i was doing more damage with my build – which all the damage comes from my sword abilities PLUS giving shout buffs to all ( im not including when i was save yourselves, even without that my dmg was higher)

The meditation damage just seemed mediocre and like a waste of a slot that could be buffing me.

Im just afraid im going to gear myself to this build and find the same thing in dungeons and such, perhaps it could just not be my style OR meditations are more pvp focus.

I want a build that i can use for all game types, atleast now as i cant afford to keep switching exotic armor / runes and stuff.

Please bring henchmen and heroes back.

PLEASE DONT, THIS IS WHAT RUINED GW1

GW2 is already too lonely fealing, almost everyone likes to solo in the open world, no a event with lots of people doing it isnt exactly playing together, yeah you might focus on one event together then depart from eachother, also your not really stratagizing and your basicly just soloing with more people around you, in a party you would talk, and use tacticts to overcome things.

In gw1 most people starting prefering henchman and the game basicly turned singleplayer since it was faster and a lot of the time easeir to have henchman as they didn’t make mistakes and their were a lot of casuals in gw1, that made grouping not always an easy experince when you had so many casual players who sat their clicking autoattack.

I played gw1 for 5 years starting from the beta, then owned the game on release day, so i know.

Ok so after you beat tix’s dungeon in the cove, or whatever, what do you think is the best present choice to choose if your planning on just selling them on the t.p or perhaps making as much money as possible

- They come in different numbers, which makes it complicated, as in only 1 for the biggest present, and for the smallest 5, so that mirkys up the water a bit.

- Is it possible, opening (whatever choice we find to be best) the present then selling whats inside to be the best way to make money aka “farm the dungeon” (doing runs over and over)

So i tried meditations in dungeons and will try in wvw but on a lvl 70, the dmg is pretty crappy what am i dong wrong? even j.i i hit harder with my auto attack sword (with right hand strength) i mean it seems a waste of a slot compared to speccing, dpsy and shoutsy, with 5 in your virtue line so u can spam those too (using the elite renewed focus)

(if your replying to me you misread post again, im saying since you have RHS you dont need to wear full zerkers, since rhs already gives u nice crit, and since i will be using 1 hand sword RHS will be boosting crit for all my weapons)

So as i said before, i asked you if i were to put in signit of judgement in their, for wvw, what meditation would you recomend switching in signit of judgement. (thats what i asked before, you again misread my post).

Basicly i want to try a wvw verison of your build, but i believe i need some extra tankiness for it to work in wvw specially my playstyle almost always going melee even in big zergs so i would like to add signit of judgement which reduces damage by 10 percent. If i were to add sig of judgement what meditation would you recomend switching out for it?
Perhaps you would recomend a different skill besides sig of judgement to increase my melee survivability in wvw?

Also, since i will be using sword instead of greatside, i only want 35-45 crit chance, what armor do you recomend, giving me a nice mix of damage and surviability??

I would advice against full zerkers for this set, IF YOU CHANGE GS TO SWORD/FOCUS since right hand str gives u 15 percent crit chance increase, you only need to stack a little bit of crit chance, more so crit damage, ide say get power/vit/tough (3) and 2 valkyre, and not decided on the runes. This is IF you get rid of the greatsword, since the most efficent crit chance for a dmg build is 35-50ish

signit of judgement is the 10 percent reduced damage, you must have misread i didnt say any signit, and no i wouldnt use the healing sig, ide keep the same healing skill because i need those conditions obv.

Ah ok, makes sence that way, i havn’t used meditations yet, i mainly play wvw also, do you think swapping out one of the meds for signet of judgement ( i like to melee in wvw) would work? and if so what one.

Why not go 1hand sword / focus with sceptor focus

Its seems it would be a lot better, EVEN LESS glass and STILL cannon, I’m sure you aggree it would still be viable, just want your opinion on it, and nice build i might try using this instead of my builds in my thread, except with 1 handsword.

I gotta say only thing stopping me from using meditations is they all seem situational with them relying on conditions, as opposed to shouts, people say shouts are only good for group play but i find their powerful enough to be used alone.

ull quite if they add mounts? Man the qq in forums these days, ull quite the game if they add an optional fluff component, that most likely wouldnt effect combat (having combat on them is a no-no, maybe for an expansion but i dono)

I hope they add somthing you don’t like but most people do so then you will quite and we wont have to hear such childish remarks on the forum anymore, such as " ill quite if anet adds somthing thats an option for the people who do want it, even though it doesn;t effect the game whatsoever"

dont make them easier to get, i hated walkign around gw1 seeing everyone as raptors, or some other weird creatures, made the game too silly.

(I replace signit of judgement with Wall of reflection when im in more of a defensive state, also switch around shouts)

Now this first build, doesn`t have alturistic healing or meditations, a lot of people recomend me to try meditations since i want to be mainly a damage type guardian that is resillient enough to charge into zergs, not blindly ofcourse but even so, imo i want to be ``tanky``.

Will this build be viable for zerg rushing and melee, and if it was whats a good equipment and armor set thats a ballence between dmg and tankyness i was thinking some power.tough.vit mixed with zerkers and or valiyre, what about divinity it seems sorta ballenced.

Will this build work for melee wvw, also i would switch out staff for sceptor SOMETIMES if my only way to help is sit on walls.

If this build is too soft (im lvl 62 so i cant fully judge) then i may switch to one of these builds,

Following builds do less damage but incorperate Alturistic healing, also i switch in shouts for judges isnight if i feal i dont need 10 percent damage reduction and i also will switch shouts around depending if im more solo in wvw or im with a nice guild party

thoughts comments please (recomend be armor that would work good with the tanky, melee dpser style, keep in consideration that i may be using right hand strength meaning i need less precision type items)

In my opinion the best crit for a damage build is 40 percent, im happy with 40 percent especially if its sword, because swords last chain auto attack hits 3 times, plus if i go 1 hand sword, i can even spec more into power.vit.toughness since i will be getting 15 percent increased chance to crit with right hand strength.

So what do you guys think What build would be the most viable, and anyone have a armor solution for me, that isnt redic expensive would be cool, im thinking if i DO go with one of my two right hand str, sword builds that i could get away with ac power,vit,toughness on all armor, and some runes that work on crit damage or somthing, im not too sure.

ps: I have lots of a.c gear coins AND lots of karma, if you guys could mention a ballenced damagy and tanky cheap armor combo that would be lovevly.

So, i decided i want to ditch my warrior as main and pick guardian, problem is its IMPOSSIBLE to get passed fotm lvl 2, now im on fotm lvl 12 on my warrior and when fotm first came out i had no problem finding a decent group of players, but now, i have 2 problems

1) takes for ever to find a FoTM group thats your level

2) I think im getting all the bottom of the barral players with me, not only do they seem incompetent of doing simple tasks, example on the snow blizzard fractal i just had a pugger accidently walk off cliff and die,

Not only do they seem to be the bottom of the barral players that couldn’t make it passed lvl 2 (most of the people), but they have horrible attidutes, for example i just got kicked from a group for being a “spazz” all i did was quickly ask everyone if they did the current fractal before, and no one seemed to want to answer, so i explained it anyways, only to get a member say your a spazz and then they vote kicked me?.

This is a problem, basicly your punished for re-rolling, and even my guild one of the biggest on the server wont help for some reason, and i dont got any real life friends high enough level yet to help me either.

This little inconvienence here has made me think about quiting the game, FoTM is fun as heck but the way it was implemented needs some work, also do most fotm dungeons render lots of classes basicly useles, like necros who are most viable with condtion damage – the way the fights especially bosses (like the dredge) are made to go, condition damage is almost useless.

This needs to be fixed, give players on higher fractals an incentive to help lower players, maybe make it part of the monthly, to assits x ammount of players in lower leveld fractons? heck, do it for other stuff also.

Not to mention gw2lfg.com wont let me post lfg anymore, and im suppressed ingame so i cant even type lfg in map or guild chat, thanks a.net for making it as hard as possible to find a group / (competetant group) for FoTM2 – lvl x

Guygs it was a simple error, as in buff team i ment to say help your team by mass buff removal, but guys i use save your selves as more of a self condition removal / dps bust / panic button.

Also im revising my build, i think now im much more experinced on guardians in wvw and will be re -vising build a bit.

GUYS PLEASE HELP ME REVISE / AND OR CREATE A TANKY / DPS 1 HAND SWORD GUARIDAN FOR WVW, STOP ARGUEING.

Now, that im more experinced in wvw specially melee wvw, im really having problems with the guardian in certaint area, namely in zergs, if they revised the sceptor made it more interesting / viable, guardian would be ALMOST in a perfect spot ballence wise (in wvw guardians need help)

i disagree, having melee never viable in wvw is a major game breaking thing. Also i always bring a staff with my guardian as backup but sitting back pew pewing is boring and not fun. Melee should be viable IN ALL game types, look at DAOC, they had viable melee in 100vs100 battles, this is a fantasy game not call of duty.

And the guardian has a bunch of methods to move out of battle, do you play a guardian? A guardian does somewhat lack in mobility compared to a theif, but he has ttons of damage mitigation and aegis type things, which are what you use for escaping, i can mitigate atleast 12 attacks on me not counting WoR, which will help me run away, then i got rolls, and fast run speed on 3 diff skills – plus healz. Look at warrior, now theirs a class thats doomed when stuff goes bad, yes he might have more “mobility” but he lacks in damage mitigation, ide much rather have a guardian for wvw zergs in melee.

Is it possible to play ONLY melee in wvw inlcuding zergs, with say a tank/dps hybrid guardian that stacks toughness vit along with bringing his defencive skills but also being able to kill kitten fast.

I dont mean rushing in 20 vs 1 stupidly but i mean say an equal 50 vs 50 zerg, bringing the right skills, with smart tacticts is it doable? i don’t wanna be the peasant with a gun, i wanna be the leet noble knight that pwns kitten and leads the rifle peasants into battle.

how is my cpu bottlenecking my video card though? the video card is the lowest end thing i have? isnt a i5 3570 like the best cpu out atm for gaming?

I wouldn’t say the 560ti overclocked is entry level, looking at benchmarks and the like, ide say its mid level especially how much i got it oc’ed.

if a 1200 dollar computer (built myself, got parts online for good prices( isnt high end, then what is :O

Gigabyte windforce gtx560ti 2gb oc edition (stock oc’d by gigabyte)

I run this game an all max settings (everything!) on 720p and get from 85 to 18 fps, depending on the area, changing the graphics settings down to low only gives me a 5 fps boost in the times that my fps shoots down to 20 and then hovers around 30, their is times, where i DO get a decent 60 fps solid, in some zones, which i would expect from a computer with pretty high endish specs like mine.

Now for comparison on bf3 i run everything maxxed on ultra and i get a solid 60 fps. What gives here? The other thing that baffles me is turning gw2’s graphics down to meidum or low really doesn’t change anything.

Is GW2 becoming less and less solo friendly?

if everything was soloable for you antisocial newbs that apparently wandered into gw2 thinking it was a 1player game, then why would anyone group up for anything? if theres no incentive to team for things, then there’ll be no reason to do it and that aspect of the game will die, which will cause the community as a whole to suffer because the game wont be as social…

Well, we wandered into GW2 thinking it was a game, not Facebook. I admit I was very confused about that.

Aside from my mistake, though, group content is just a nice way of saying that the game is easy for people who can’t play to save their lives, and impossible for those who would like to.

Personally, I look at it the opposite way. If what you want to do is hang out with people, why are you playing a video game by yourself in front of a computer?

first of all, facebook is a social tool, guildwars is what we call a massively multiplayer game, and in these wonderous online games players play together and take on various things with other people online.

2nd of all : group content in all games isn’t easier as devs practice this thing we call game ballence and gameplay.

Infact the solo content in all mmos ive played is usually the easiest, and soloing in this game is for people who cant play the harder group content, as the solo parts of personal story are a cake walk, and the diffuclty of events / open world pve is hilariously easy, compared to the dungeons / fractals, infact every mmo ive played the soloable arts are WAY easier then the parts requiring groups

And then you go on to say ``people dont buy games to hang out with people`` which is the dumbest statement ive ever read, we arnt ``hanging out with people`were cooperatively taking on game content and using skill to coordinate attacks and the like

You clearely don`t understand what online games are all about, if you want a online game, yet alone an mmo to have 100 percent solo-content then making groups will just be faceroll easy just like the solo content is in gw2.

Ok so i want to use this build and get the stats similair to what is shown on the build editor, now this build editor only accounts for RUNES on armor i beleive, as i can’t choose armor selction anywere, so i believe it doesn’t take into account armor stats (like beserkers / knights) and only the runes

Build notes: i want one set of stats (in this case eagle runes) to be offensive as this build is focused on crits to gain might, and damage, but since i will be in melee range in wvw/pvp/pvp a lot i WILL need to be tanky, guardian skills allow me to stack dmg modifiers and armor modifers and still be the most tankiest

Anyways, so for the build i choose i selected eagle runes in the builder program, i read that it may be cheaper to get armor with those stats and go defensive on the runes itself and use somthing like beserkers or perhaps power/vit/tough.

Anyways is their anyway to get similiar stats here with cheaper item combinations? is the question, any combo will work as long as i get high crit and high dmg with added toughness (or maybe vit) or perhaps toughness and vit.

edit: originally i was going to go knights armor then go eagle runes but thats getting expensive and also afaik to get knights from doing dungeons i would have to run S.F which NO ONE ever runs to my knowledge, i could try crafting, id be starting from lvl 0 armoring but if its cheaper i would be down.

One last thing ; i am really getting sick and sting around casting WoR every 1 minute and doign buffs while i stand their in a wvw keep siege / defence, because they stopped coming up to the gate so i can hit them thru it with my staff, should i change to sceptor? even though ive heard horror storys of how bad it is, and of course used it in non wvw setting.

Guardian used to be my favourite class, and i really hate resorting to playing wvw with my warrior, who can do everything my gaurdian can, except maybe mitigate one or two hits less, Anyway.

Their is NO POINT in making the sceptor 1200 range if it doesn’t even hit targets who are unaware your even attacking them, as in don’t advertise that the sceptor has 1200 range in the stats when it will never hit at 1200 range in practice.

Please a.net every other class has some ranged option, you said it youself a.net every class can do anything, to some extent and with different flavours.

Guardian would not be o.p if you increased orb 1 projectile speed by 100 percent. ( i think thats enough, perhaps not but more of a placeholder example)

This is coming from a wvw player, yes guardians can be usefull for more of a spec ops approach and outside of zerg keep defence offence, but the fact is ITS BORING to play a guardian HALF the time in wvw when MELEE ISN’T EVEN POSSIBLE or highly handicapped.

People are going to say, well you can use wall of reflection during keep sieges (offense and or defence) well, thats like a 1 minute cooldown, and yes we have some buffs that can help in these situations, but without a ranged option to hit people its just totally BORING.

TL;DR :

1) Increase sceptor autoatttack projectile speed greatly.

2) rework smite, it barely hits even stationary targets and it just looks kind of meh. Maybe reworking smite completely would be awesome

3) these changes wouldn’t take very long and i believe should be coming with a soon to be release mass ballence update, that imo should be buffing certaint skills to encourage more / different playstyles ON ALL CLASSES – This small tweak WOULD encourage a whole bunch of new playstyles and never before dreamed of classes for a ranged guardian.

4) It would NOT be overpowered to give the guardian a ranged option
