anyone els? i wanna make a gs version of this build also, more focusing on dmg but i think sword since it has 3 atttacks in one at the last a.a move, is the best for crits, and procing off crits for might.

Hey, i know this probably has been said before, but recently your servers have been disconecting players randomly for no reason, now i have a real good internet prvoider/connection and i double checked to make sure its not on my end.

Please anyone who has had this issue post here so a.net can see its effecting a mass of people. – I already know it is, my guild of 400 people are all reporting random disc’s, this should be a priorty imo.

I need the monthly achievement, i only need 2 more FoTM runs but its getting harder and harder to either

A) find a decent group who can complete them.

B) get into a group since i don’t have a level 80 event tho at lvl 45 i can hold my own escpecially at the lower levels, and im not really a “noob” to the game i just made 5 chars and lvled em all to 45-60 to see what i wanted my main to be.

C) we have a good group and the game randomly disconects them for no reason whatsoever

his symbol in downed state maybe, that and just the regular d.s heal can bring a guardian up decently fast if hes being left alone while down, lot faster then only using the heal (the symbol heals hp every 2 sec and dose dmg in an aoe area)

Stability is absolutely worth it, you can’t get pulled to, or knocked away or interrupted also if you’re knocked down, SYG will stand you back up and get you back into the fight so they can’t control you by keeping you on the ground or pulling you or knocking you away. It’s a free pass to 5 seconds of uninterrupted beat down. So if they fight back that’s when retaliation comes into play. Anyone dropping AOE damage on your group relation won’t have much fun for example.

I’m just saying try it out that’s all if you don’t like it don’t use it.

putting only 10 in valor, thus losing shield trait, and the other 15 trait, and relocating the 10 pts into virtues,

and since i lost the shield trait, ide prolly go sword/focus instead because IMO i like untrated focus better then untrated sheild.

Ok so heres my WvW PvE Sword/shield & Staff build

Note you can switch honorable shield with purity if you feal your getting a lot of condition damage taken, but dont forget every ten seconds you will be cured of a condition anyways, plus all the buffs that give you regen and all the healing, so its up to you

Keep note its still a work in progress, so here you got 54 crit (first variation had 75 but i read 54 percent is all u ever need really, especially for empowering might that lasts 5 seconds and with the fast sword attack)

So the idea here is to control the battle field, while doing decent damage and being a pretty good tank, Empowering might will give you and your allies constant might, while in combat, and your two shouts will give your wvw team the umph you need, one thing i love about shouts is they work fine for solo builds also, as the buffs are pretty good, especially save yourself, and when traited their just as good as self buffs as they are aoe buffs.

Any thought people? Please be kind ive only had gw2 for a month but i was a very competetive pvp player in gw1.

I know this build may seem sort of boring and generic for some, but i i built this build while keeping in mind that i want to be able to be at the frontlines and melee people in zergs, which requires some good defence.

One last thing ; i am really getting sick and sting around casting WoR every 1 minute and doign buffs while i stand their in a wvw keep siege / defence, because they stopped coming up to the gate so i can hit them thru it with my staff, should i change to sceptor? even though ive heard horror storys of how bad it is, and of course used it in non wvw setting

So i made a new main char, because i got bored of warrior basicly disowned him, loving my guardian but i cant for the life of me find a FOtM group for lvl 1, (its even harder to find a group since im not lvl 80 and exotic)

So i cant even complete the monthly, or play this buitiful content… Can’t find a good guild either to help me as i got kicked by the biggest guild on our server because i asked the officer to stop harassing me.

Any ideas how i can find more lvl 1 fractal players, im at a loss here.

This is nonsence how can we change this? So im lvl 35 trying to level my alt by going thru a.c dungeons, almost all the people kick me because im lvl 35, now i have run this dungeon with lvl all lvl 35 – 60’s and did it flawlessly, so what gives?

Also dont say one good player at lvl 35 will slow down an a.c run, i can run it just as fast on my lvl 35 guardian as my lvl 80 theif.

The worst thing is when i try to explain this to the people saying im too low level, they don’t even beleive me? funny thing is the few i DID get in after they kicked me then i had to convince them otherwise, i was doing most of the work, so their you go proof the elitism = bad players.

It really all depends on the specific item and current supply/demand of the armor pieces vs. crafting materials. It’s difficult for folks to give a definitive answer to your question because the market can and does fluctuate and something that was cheaper to buy yesterday may be cheaper to craft today. And folks really have no clue specifically what mats you have on-hand, which impacts your total crafting cost.

I think your best bet is to go to www.gw2spidy.com, go to the Crafting section and look for the items you are considering equipping. Each craftable item has an entry that will indicate the cost to buy vs. the total cost to craft so you can determine whether it’s cheaper to craft or buy. And even better, it lists all the crafted ingredients needed to craft the item and the buy cost vs. craft cost those ingredients as well.

Now keep in mind that the total cost to craft is based on current market prices to buy the mats and craft the items yourself and doesn’t take into account mats that you already have on-hand. So an item that may appear to be cheaper “buy” on gw2spidy may actually be cheaper for you to craft if you already have all or most the materials on-hand. But it at least it can help you make an educated decision!

So my plan is to get the cheapest exotic armor as possible, (draconic) either with beserker stats or knight stats , havnt decided yet, and then im going to transmute a mix of priory order heavy armor, with some other things (cant tell my secret armor setuplooks bomb!).

I figure the max crafting armor will do DRACONIC ARMOR or whatever i heard it might be cheaper to buy it off the tradepost then to craft it?

Keep in mind i have hoarded lots of low level armors, my armor smithing is at lvl 1 however. I would be willing to level it up if its cheapest to craft it.

Hey all im looking for a really active guild, my focus is wvw pve pvp basicly, i love doing dungeons, pve’ing but also i would like to be competitive in wvw and pvp also.

WvW is my favourite, will be getting into other pvp soon.

I am currently finishing up my main character – A Guardian,
I also have a lvl 56 warrior, 45 theif, 30 Mesmer

The reason why i don’t have a level 80 main yet is because i wasn’t sure what character i liked the most until i played a decent ammount, but now it is final my Guardian is my favourite, so expect him to be the one i bring to the tabel for pvp the most.

a.net lied and said before the game was released that you “could change your order with a little bit of work” hmmm..

So my problem is i find 1 hand sword, lacking in everything i know its supposed to be for control but it sounds good on paper but in application its… meh i mean i love 1 hand swords and shields, now im willing to risk losing the shield for a build but all the builds that i like seem to gravitate to greatsword, (im a wvw>pve/pvp, meaning wvw is my focus and pve pvp are equal grounds)

I wanna be a tanking damage dealer with a hint of added support, which i know i can do, one of the reason i decided to get rid of my warrrior /thief main that i put so much time into because i like being in the frontlines using melee in wvw zergs (epic)

So tankiness IS wanted, just not specced full tank, ide really like to use sword/shield and then either sceptor or probably staff for that xtra support.

Any thoughts guys? i may be willing to give up sword / shield and use sword / focus, i just like the look of 1 hand swords better, and thye better fit my character, but man it just seems like the greatsword skill set is so much better and versitile the 1h sword jus seems like.. lacking, is that number 2 or 3 (cant remember. not the tepeporting one)
even worth using? its the skill were you shoot projectiles while u swing ur 1h sword while making a shield, im not talking about the cc flashing blade know the greatswords moves i slick its jus all the greatswords look so big, i did find the smallest ones available but their still not what i want..

So ide like to hear some people thoughts, i heard somthing about 1 hand sword being best for a crit / constant might proc build and using 1h sword being better because it crits more ? ( dont know why it crits more, keep in mind im still new sort of to guardian only level 26)

It would be way better instead of not fealing supportive to your guild because you have a badd kitten skin that you want to show off but your also getting flack from your guildies for not repping, also guild weapon skins are so small you cant even notice them

Why anet ? Why! In gw1 you were amazing at adding cape variety, and cool capes, we need capes / cloaks / tabards, so far we have ugly looking packpacks that only suit engineer class but even then, doesn’t go with lots of the assasiny style armor, books? Imo books dont go with anything,
i tried giving the book a chance on the ONE class i thought it may look suitable and in character for – guardian (ok perhaps other casters) it just looks out of place and covers the armor skin (ok, capes tabards etc would too but not as intense plus, they dont have to cover all.

Quivers ARE cool for bow wielding classes, ofcourse a quiver is NOT an option now considering i re-rolled my main to a guardian, i know theirs a “hide” option but we have quivers, which suit bow classes, books for ele’s/mes/necro were just missing capes.

- Its hard to do cloth animation is not an excuse gw2’s engine can do it. and it CAN do it without ANY clipping, weve seen it before on SOME armor, and other objects, it WILL take time to make it work with animations but this is a new gen game, its hard to animate isn’t a viable excuse at all (not since 2001).

He tanked from not getting hit also? Almost all tanks in all games have blocking / dodging skills, its still taking damage, the difference is more semantics imo.

Im getting laughed at by people saying Mesmers can’t tank in pvp/wvw when they’re one of the best, they say im noob, I say in pvp memsers can tank way better then warriors, i get called a noob.

Back me up people? Arn’t mesmers good at tanking or am i seeing things?

First off, ide like to just say i don’t agree with the other thread on here that says the pve sucks. But i do think it can be improved.

We need more scripted missions with epic 30 player pve fights, I don’t see why people look at these statements and go oh no the games becoming wow! (especially with the recent addition of the newer tier items)

Raiding can be fun and non grindy, and it Doesn’t have to be “Raiding” just somthing similair to missions like the gw1 / 2 storyline missions (not counting personal) with 30 or so players, i beleive making it so you KNOW exactly how many people will be playing the content and not have to worry about trying to impleement an auto difficulty scaler.

I don’t get how having these style of missions can be looked upon as a bad thing? how can massive pve battles be a bad thing ? I hear people saying oh no not raids they suck. These “raids” i envision wouldn’t be required for the game or to obtain any items ofcrouse, but their would be rewards AND its a group way to tell lore storys and have scripted scenes AND fine tuned diffuculty.

Massive pve is only a positive, and could add some much needed depth to guild wars, i need guildwars to become a little bit more story driven i just feal right now the lore and story is meh, i mean dont get me wrong theirs SO MUCH a.net could do right now to make it epic,

Since 1 hand sword is NEVER a good damage dealer for guardian (control weapon) / warrior (bleeding function) And possibly other classes,

I would like some smaller 2 hand swords, especially for those warriors and guardians who dont want to wield a super overly huge sword, theirs a begening greatsword, not the one that looks like a claymore, it just has a completely straight hilt on it, its in the same skin subgroup has one of the starting 1 hand swords also (the 1h that has the same no poiinted out hilt guard).

I know this is a weird suggestion and doesn’t add much but i think it will add some variety, Like some of the 1hand swords look huge like the 2 handers, why cant 2 handers of smaller looking ones, im not saying make them look exactly like 1 handers they still can be a little bigger.

We need katanas, naturally katanas were in the 1st gw in an expansion (factions), but the problem was i beleive those were 1 handed which created a problem of making katanas look silly, IMO.

TL;DR Version : A.net …… Please add 2 hand katanas, add more variety to SOME weapons greatswords are ALL almost epicy huge, which is fine but we should have some more leaner ones, their is only 1, 2 hand sword that i really like, its very thin just a long version of the 1 hand sword – But its soo boring its 1/2 of the starting skins for greatswords.

How can the team pretend game cooperation, when they introduce something that improve only you drop rate instead of the team effectivness.

TL;DR Version : Get rid of magic find stat magic find is an old and bad game mechanic, instead create more dropable temporary magic find buffs, make them a bigger part of the game – THIS is the future of magic find in gaming guys.

I guess if I had to pick the WoW class closest to the guardian in feel I’d say enhancement shaman. (Not vanilla, infinite Windfury crit shaman, though.)There’s no perfect equivalent, but the focus on buffs and the short/mid-ranged abilities are there.

And if you want a difficult “rotation”, then guardian is no better than warrior. If anything, guardian is more slow-paced. In all seriousness, have you tried elementalist?

I always wanted to try necro and elementalist ( I LOVE NECROS IN GAMES) but one look on their forums even b4 i bought the game i choose never to play until necros had more viable roles (necros are necros cuz of summons / darkness.. We what we have in gw2 seem more of a warlock).

And Eles?? the eles say their not viable at all and our currently always getting nerfed.

My first char was actually a theif (lvl 45) but i felt pigeonholed in pve/wvw/pvp to use dd / lb which was fun for a while but gets very boring since this games skills rely on half of ur weapon you use. Also theif traps = suck.

Eles and necro seem bugged and broken at least in the forums.

Most people are telling me warrior i presume? stick with my lvl 45? its so boring though, i want magic and melee and to be able to tank wvw zergs! Also if u look at t/s pvp NO ONE USES WARRIOR, and im not sure about them in wvw they if i like them yet.

I like the longsword skills but i HATE the looks, unless they add some smaller looking greatswords, i like 2 hand swords that are smaller, hence in wow they have them but in wow their not called greatswords.

Not the claymore – looking one this one im refering too doesnt have a “gaurd” At the hilt part, as in no horizontol points stickin out where blade and hilt meet ; this one i like but its very bland, perhaps like most other weapons, this one has a re-skin thats exotic ?

I’m still on the fence about my choice, so some of you guys are telling me that a warrior can melee in zergs also? i do like that if a warrior can melee in zergs as good as a guardian AND the warrior has ranged options (great options at that!) – LB &Rifle then i may have to go with warrior.

But their sooo BORING i like being able to use complex skills and magic in heavy armor im just not sure if its what i expected!!!

So theirs no good DAMAGE viable non full support gaurdians??

Someone told me warrior SUCK in WvW and PvP and that warriors cant tank or deal damage and that guardians dmg dealing is on par with more survivability ? And that guardians own at both?

I want to be viable for wvw pve pvp in that order i leveled my warrior to lvl 45 and then realised hes just kind of boring, now my main play style in all rpgs is a spell sword kind of guy so the gaurdian always apealed to me but other people were telling me a guardian cant do good damage and in wvw is not the best because he doesnt have a ranged option.

Now i do sometimes LIKE being in the big zerg – force, not always but sometimes a zerg is required for taking down big keeps in wvw, i mos def. wanna be able to damage stuff in zergs, im more of a damagy player then pure tank.

I did dabble in world of warcraft and i did like the paladin class their a lot, i played a ret pally which offered great survivability with awesome damage, Im not exactly saying i need a ret counter-part i just dont wanna be pure support.

So mainly i would love a class that can go melee in zergs viably, as the warrior seems to owned if im not VERY VERY carefull running in and going melee on enemy zerg (with my zerg ofcourse).

As the gaurdian has no ranged options i need to know if i stop playing my lvl 45 warrior, and continue on leveling my lvl 12 guardian that i will be viable in zergs going full melee as its my only real good option, besides being full support, but you dont get drops from being support or any rewards.

Ive never been the kind of player that likes playing monks and or solely team buffing / protecting characters and the like so i dont mind some support but i would like to be based around:
Self buffing myself, buffing my team is a plus

-Dealing good damage,
-Being about to revert damage back, or being able to take hits long enough to deal decent damage in zergs in melee range (the warrior i couldnt stay around long enough in melee range to deal significant damage, and this is what i hear from people who main lvl 80 warrios is too.)
-Being able to play a class similair to a spellsword.

Now onto my last problem…

It seems for warrior / Gaurdian that greatswords are the only weapon that really fits my play style (greatsword as a main weapon)
My delema is i HATE the look of greatswords their alll redic. big like Final fantasy heck even in wow they had decent looking 2hand swords that looked like normal swords or 1 handed swords that you just weild with two hands

I tried 1 hand sword on gaurdian and it just seems meh Especially for WvW now i love the shield for the guardian (is the shield good in wvw?) I would prefer

1 hand sword / shield & staff as my weapons of choice for my wvw / pve guardian build but i want to do decent damage and also the greatsword skills just seem way more fun and better. So either tell me is their a greatsword that looks small?

i found 1 example which is one of the first greatswords you get its found in the human starting zone its very skinny and bland looking but it looks like a 1 hand sword just with a long hilt, is their any GOOD looking swords that look like this?

Its a shame theirs so many good looking 1 hand swords but i just cant find them viable.

Anything thanks ahead of time people and i hope you can answer my many questions.

Dueling needs to be added ASAP . We need dueling outside towns, We need an option to change your “Dueling status” either on or off, which could be indicated by an icon on the player avatar portrait ( Example : heart quests on portraits already) .

They could always temporarely disallow dueling in certaint areas for a specific reasons like say for a Dynamic Events or somthing?

simple, easy to implement, seems like a cool idea, only thing that makes me think twice is will it be easy to accidently zoom to map? just make it require lots of scrolls i guess, an option to turn it off and im down.,

As long as i can get these items in a decent ammount of time ala make them no harder to get then exotics and they release it with expansions and new content only i don’t see it as a big deal, i don’t want it to be a gearcheck game like diablo 3 and wow. Trust me but a little item progression isn’t a bad thing, one thing that worries me is they added this 2.5 months after release which seems too soon, i was hoping they’d do somthing like this when a full expansion came out. I like a little progression just not a full gearcheck>skill game. Infact i like that quote i just said

as long as gw2 remains skill>gear then im fine, as in someone skilled in exotics can beat someone unskilled in the above teir.

You people get a grip, their adding another teir, so what? You have to do dungeons to get dungeon gear now dont you? I doub’t their going to make it as hard as legendairys to get its probably going to be between exotic and legendary. Don’t want to get it? Then don’t. This is why i don’t play mmo’s the playerbase is full of qq babys,

SEE DEVS? The qq goes both ways so why listen only to the people qqing about theives? here you have a theif crying about warriors taking no skill, gaurdians taking no skill. You go to warrior/guardian forums and their qqing about being underpowered.

I know mmo forums are filled with qq but if the devs are listening then thats why the qq is giving me problems with picking a main because i believe all the qq if the devs do.

So by everyones logic if the qq is true then EVERY CLASS IS UNDERPOWERED? LOL!

they shouldn’t lock this… And this thread absoulutely adds constructive discussion to the forum… The multiple qq threads on each class forum are fine but a discussion on why people overly complain is bad?

I don’t mean to come across negativly, mod, i think you should leave it open since this post is mainly about the UNJUSTIFIED QQ. I think more people should voice their opinion on the out of hand complaints. I’m on anets side all the way (NOT that theirs sides)

P.S : your the mod not me so if you do deem this thread unworthy then thats that but just voicing my opinion i think if anything this will help newer players like me see passed the constant qq on each respective class section.

Stop worrying so much about it and play what’s funnest to you. The rewards in PvP are purely cosmetic and not worth getting bent out of shape over. Pretty much any class can excel in PvE.

I’m not worried about pve. Im worried about wvw and pvp.

Every single class forum has a “we’re underpowered qq thread” and it’s really starting to annoy me at first, i took them seriously, so i made a theif, leveld it to lvl 35 as my main played wvw and pve, go to the forums read its overpowered. Okay, so now i roll a Gaurdian as my new main because i read that the thief is only viable with the d/d & sb build.

Level the gaurdian, then check the gaurdian forums, apparently gaurdians only have broken range weapon options and their only viable as bunker builds.
So i decide to make a warrior, having fun enjoying the fact the apparently all the weapons available to warrior are viable (i wanna be a tankish damage dealer with sword/shield and longbow for ranged, mostly playing wve and pve)

Unfortunately i go to the warrior forums apparently the warrior is underpowered and not viablo in wvw either.

So what class HAS all their weapon choices viable and isnt underpowered? This is redic.!

I dont know what to choose now, warrior or gaurdian? i’m sick of the theifs gameplay because apparently im overpowered and limited to d/d sb, warrior isn’t viable in wvw/pvp and gaurdian is only viable for bunker builds and cannot be a tanky damage dealer WIth a ranged option for wvw zergs…

Is this qq justified? When i played a theif in wvw it seemed to me that gaurdians and warriors were very powerful., keep in mind the theif is the only class i really got to get to know since i leveled him up to 40 (played a lot of wvw with the theif) as my gaurdian and warrior are only lvl 10 but im scared to further play my warrior because hes not viable likewise for the gaurdian so now im stuck without a main.
