Please add hotkey to “show all names”. This will allow us to combine show enemy and ally names into 1 button. I’m running out of easy-to-reach buttons on my keyboard/mouse so being able to combine these 2 functions as 1 hotkey would really help.

NOTE: I don’t want names to always be turned on, so I prefer to have a hotkey for it.

During character creation, background music has loud ticking noise/sound that comes and goes for moments at a time. Can this be fixed?

GW2’s FXAA antialiasing looks worse when used with “supersample” setting.

Example: At the character select screen, you can see the object pixel edges look noticeably more uneven than when used with “native” setting.

Can this be fixed? Perhaps add standard MSAA as an antialiasing option like in GW1?

NOTE: The reason I prefer to use “supersample” instead of “native” is because supersample renders fine details more clearly.

Special starter armor skins are not obtainable in-game—they’re not available beyond character creation. For example, I want to get this guardian shoulder armor skin at a higher level but I don’t see it offered from the armorsmiths or trading post. This is also a big problem for users who accidently or intentionally deleted their special starter armor, expecting to be able to obtain them again at higher levels. Can this be fixed soon?

BTW: This bug interferes with Guild Wars Principle #3: “Players should look the way they want to look”. We shouldn’t have to rely on consuming transmutation stones just to be able to maintain the right stats on our special starter armor skins as we level up…

BUG: When in window mode, we’re unable to maximize window size by dragging window to top edge of screen [Windows 7 feature]. Instead, we have to maximize window by dragging window size manually. Can this be fixed?

NOTE: However, this is not a problem when window is resized by dragging window to left or right side of screen. Only a problem when dragging window to top edge of screen.

NOTE: I run game at 1920×1200 fullscreen resolution. Interface size is set to “normal”.

BUG: Chat panel position and map size gets lost after switching to window mode [and back]. Happens when window mode size is much smaller than screen size [which is the case by default].

- This happens when chat panel is enlarged vertically and is located at bottom.
- Map size is always reset to default size and doesn’t remember custom size.

Can this be fixed?

Please add option for buttons to toggle permanent visibility of enemy/ally names. Instead of the current way of having to hold down the buttons to see enemy/ally names. I know there are also checkbox in options but they’re not easy to toggle like buttons are.

By default, we hold SHIFT to enable drawing on the map. But this is a problem for users with custom controls. For example, I changed SHIFT to a movement key so it now becomes a problem to hold SHIFT to draw on the map. To avoid such problems, please add option to change the map drawing button.

Please add the ability to customize control buttons for “downed” mode. Currently for this mode, the game uses the first 4 skill buttons by default. Instead, I would like to reconfigure them to something else that is different from the first 4 skill buttons.

My main reason for needing this is because I have reconfigured my regular skill buttons in a special layout that is good for normal combat [when all skill buttons are available] but causes “downed” mode skill buttons to be awkwardly laid out [when only 4 skill buttons are available].

i use a standard US keyboard and standard 5 button mouse for all my PC gaming. we shouldn’t be forced to buy exotic peripherals just to play GW2 properly.

point-click to move is a very popular and established control scheme for third person MMO and hack-and-slash games. it’s been used in other games such as GW1, Diablo 1-3, Lineage 2, etc.

with the amount of skill buttons taking up keyboard space in GW2, we desperately need the option to offload the movement controls to point-click movement on the mouse. for choice, perhaps it can be added with an on/off toggle in options.

Guild Wars 2 default controls are horrible—mainly because there isn’t point-click to move so we’re forced to use the keyboard controls to move and activate skills at the same time—which is clunky and inefficient. To make the situation worse, GW2 has around twice the amount of skill buttons as GW1—and we’re now forced to share keyboard space with movement buttons! Basically, the GW2 default controls are logically flawed.

To resolve this problem, may I suggest to add point-click for movement [like back in GW1]? It can be added to enhance the current movement scheme. So users can focus on using the keyboard for activating skills and using mouse for movement—instead of the current method of expecting users to use their one hand on the keyboard to do almost everything!

NOTE: I already know I can hold down both left/right mouse buttons at the same time to move. I also know about autorun. But these are still not efficient nor comfortable for constant play.

NOTE: I have already tried reconfiguring my controls as suggested by some users [such as Taugrim’s control scheme], but for this game it’s still not as efficient as having point-click to move.

NOTE: Point-click for movement would also include auto-attack and follow [like in GW1].

NOTE: Point-click for movement can work for continuous terrain. For jumping spaces, we can switch to button movement.


BTW: For those of you who also can’t stand the default controls, you can try my custom movement controls that are mentioned in the link below. It helps to improve the current situation. However, there is a small bug with it—which is caused by the game [I have reported it]. But it’s still very usable and far better than the default controls…

Can we have options to hide every type of armor and offhand weapon? This will allow us more freedom to make our character look the way we want. Such as bare chest, no gloves, etc.

And sometimes we want our character to be holding a one handed weapon in one hand and nothing else in the other [especially when some offhands just look lame and make no sense visually].

NOTE: Even Diablo III has the option for this using invisible dyes.

This forum needs a way to let us track our own topics/threads—not just posts. We also need option for email notification of replies. Currently without these features, it’s a lot of hassle to manually check for replies to our discussions.

How about make undergarments, underwear, and permanent hair gear dyeable? Currently, they’re limited to default color and that’s boring.

Perhaps make actual armor for these so that they work like all our other armor.

Please improve GW2 screenshots function by saving images to lossless quality .PNG format with unlimited colors for better quality. Currently, screenshots are using lossy quality .JPG format with colors reduced to sRGB range—which makes the colors look muted. The current screenshot quality is noticeably worse than how we see the game.

RED PUPIL BUG … can this be fixed?

pupil is the BLACK middle point in the center of eyes. but characters have RED pupils at character select screen.

i noticed this problem doesn’t happen when we set render sample to “supersample”. it happens when we set render sample to “native” [which is the default].

note: these eyes are also made larger than default during character creation.

When playing, can we have a way to zoom in closer to character and also show full body up close? Similar to the size of the character displayed in character creation. Currently when playing, we can’t zoom close enough to see face better, and we also can’t see full body when zoomed in.
