Thieves killing bads since launch. Many have improved and it’s very noticeable but the vast majority of you guys still just don’t get it.

This means, … wait, i have to calculate… it would need approx 1,79 years for Anet to fix the Ranger Pet.
How slow things seem to be improving i think 1,79 years is an understatement. Maybe they could just remove all classes apart from ele,guardian,thief and mesmer and the game would be pretty well balanced. And even those 2 devs could be moved to working on different things than balance.
edit. save the warrior also for the dungeon speed runners.
So it’s settled then, they can’t fix pet ai since warriors would have to be given dual greatswords.
Fun gameplay at it’s finest, swinging at invisible targets and trying to stack conditions to them even when they have easy access to cleanse.
Who came up with this stuff?
My suggestion to you is to join the winning team like the rest of us and roll a thief, this game has no qa people so it’s likely nothing will be done about it.
There’s only 2 devs working on the class balance and class bugfixes , so they don’t have the manpower to make drastic changes to the balance so it’s not likely the professions are gonna be altered heavily.
So the balance is what it is, live with it or move on to games with an actual qa people.

Each set has different stat combinations and on top of that you need to get the amulet/rings/trinkets and weapon on top of that. And runes for the armor and sigils for the weapon.
You will be better of getting each piece of armor one by one from the TP, the satchels are most likely overprized and not all are available as satchels in the TP.
craftable Carrion gear gives power+vitality+cond damage atleast , don’t really know if there’s an easy way to get cond+tougness+vitality gear without karma or dungeon/wvw badges.
Are you looking the gear set mainly for looks or with some specific stat combination?
Ugh, that was the ultimate letdown. So the ultra crappy pet AI is for balance purposes now
I hope he just wasn’t familiar with the issues or ranger is in a even deeper hole than anyone guessed.
I agree aquam… ranger can be pretty much unkillable 1vs1 if the pet ress happens to work. Tone down the pet ress underwater and to compesate make rangers op on land like some profs are.

Wow. It’s amazing to see how much simple straight-line movement can reduce the damage output for our pets.
Yeah, and it gets worse even with snares agains’t half competent player targets damage output will be closer to 0.

And Markets do rise and fall, there will be cheap precusors again soon, just wait for the next event like the Karka one.
This may be true but to most people precursors are rising in value faster than people are able to farm for the most part. Is that a bad thing or not i don’t know.
When i bought The Lover from the tp little after karka event i paid 115g for it, now the cheapest one on tp is 575g. Pretty brutal.
I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t give you a chance at a precursor – I’ve heard instances of people getting one using that method.
I can confirm that. 3 longbows + forge stone gave me a Dusk.

Isn’t thief supposed to be a PvP class? How’s nerfing PvP and buffing PvE going to work, that’s a stupid deal.
No such thing as a “PvP” class in this game, and if it is, its behind all others.
In high dungeons thief isn’t needed, that just basicly tells you there’s better classes for PvE. Thief/assassin in almost every MMO is a PvP class, nerfing thief in PvP and buffing him on PvE is non-sense.
Pvp class? Sorry, there is no such things as pve or pvp classes in here, and not really in other mmo’s either.
Stealth mechanics in this game makes me miss the standard stealth from other mmo’s. Whoever thought whailing empty air and trying to stack conditions to invisible targets that can easily cleanse them makes for fun and exiting gameplay needs to go back to working in McDonalds.
Im sorry but i am crying of laughter right now. Not at you but I can only imagine someones reaction if they are inexperienced and they are strolling along in wvw and they just go down. Not even hit or slashed a bit, they were just walking and the very next second they are on the ground.
Lol. It’s the perfect way to get rid of all the new players coming into WvW. Come strolling out from the spawn and snip you’re dead without seeing what happened -> repeat.
Time to kill someone in this game is flawed. Shouldn’t be possible to down people in only couple of seconds. And even less so instantly.

Well, atleast in WvW the game is balancing itself. Every week there’s more and more Elementalists and thiefs. Now if only i could roll a bright wizard… :P
Overall the game is becoming a disgrace of a class diversity. Warhammer/Tor here we come.

Replace your sword/axe with a shortbow and stay on range, shortbow is very good also with power/prec/crit combo .As a glass cannon melee ranger you most likely have the shortest live expentancy of all classes.
Sadly this kinda of math has become the norm in online games over the last few years.. I don’t see it disapering anytime soon, regardless of how idiotic it is.
Yeah, 1€ seems to be 1$ in every game. It’s just curious how would it be rounded if euro would be the weaker currency? :P Well, i know the answer to that.

I’m always dissapointed when profession balance and bug fixing seem to be very low on priority. I’d vote for fixing the current game somewhat before focusing on new shiny stuff.

There’s an easy fix to this issue. Cough up some gems and go back to your original server.
This has nothing to do with population of servers. DB has a Que running and only 10-15 people in a BG with Que. It is a bug in their Que system. And people like you parroting same thing over and over just gives Anet false sense that issue is not urgent.
Maybe guesting uses the same population limit as wvw? Who knows.
I still find it funny that the people complain about ques bug or not after several servers are completely void of any wvw players after the free transfers ended.
There’s an easy fix to this issue. Cough up some gems and go back to your original server.
You can see hostile nameplates/tags when you are underwater though walls and some time after that. Known Bug.

So the tier 9 and 8 winners will go straight to tier 1 after winning their blowout matches after this week? Hmm, how does this reset help anything other than adding another month of unbalanced matchups?
I agree on the part that it’s not a good idea to price transfer fee by overall population , as a medium population server but one of the longest quetimes to WvW they are only gonna get longer in the future.
The Piken Square server i knew was a hard fighting undermanned, around middle tier server but when you gained some new guilds invited or not sometime around the 4 week gandara/arborstone matchup and little after that it was kinda inevitable that other people would follow. And why not , it’s not like only hardcore WvW guilds with invitation were allowed to transfer to Piken.
By bringing those new WvW guilds to Piken you kinda sealed your own fate by racking up so much points so close to the free transfer closure.
Sure, everyone would like their WvW population consisting from only 15-20 people hardcore WvW guild strike teams but it doesnt work that way.

You shouldn’t keep your hopes up atleast. Maybe when they assign more than 2 devs to balancing and fixing classes. As you have witnessed, there has been very little progress since lauch, with such a limited crew theres only so much you can accomplish.
Any plans on adding quivers to laurel vendors? quiver skins are currently impossible to get for people who don’t play fractal dungeons.
Adding a non-ascended quiver back item/back item skin would lessen the prestige value of current quivers.

Which ignores the 50 ecto and full stack of T6 fine crafting mats used.
Right now, quivers indicate a level of effort on the player’s part, and it’s not derived from the mist essence.

I don’t like WvW, but I have to do it for Badges for my legendary. I’d prefer if I didn’t have to get a Gift of Battle for my shield skin. But I do.

I understand that. But what i’m asking is a way for people who don’t enjoy gear grind dungeons to be able to get quiver/skin somewhere in game.
All current quivers require materials from Fotm.
You can only see them once you are on the map in question. one is in the south part of cursed shore and the other in is straits of devastation in north part, in the water.
Doubt nightcapping will be touched, but it would be pretty hilarious to see for example something along the lines of making points worth only third of normal from 1 am cet to 1 pm at weekdays.

There’s a one difference. People use the trains they need , they don’t flock to the ones that are most popular just so they could ride in one with the most passengers.
Make other ways to gain quivers/quiver skins than running the fotm dungeon, so players like me who only play WvW have access to obtain them.

Yeah, nothing to worry about, the big files were at the beginning of the download so percentage goes very slowly at the beginning.

Yeah, big files seem to be first, percentage speeds up alot later.
