Its silly trying to make an issue of it when not everyone is fully willing to be honest about who they absorbed/payed into their WvW community.

oPP & RIOT vs CDS, CAPS, TSYM, and a few others two nights ago… that was an epic skirmish guys, well played on all sides:

YB does have an awesome community. Remember when they gave back the hacked Orb? That story made so many blogs. Even though Joebane is no longer there (he made the decision to give back the Orb), his decision was just a reflection of the ethos of the entire server. If my guild ever looks at going back to a mid tier server, Yaks Bend will be at the top of our list.

This video was taken from oPP’s perspective. From our perspective, we were outnumbered and kiting to begin with, then we saw thoe two CAPS guys come up behind us (TW’s strike team, they are getting harder to fight every time we fight them!). We started a full out retreat until I realized oPP was with us, then we all turned and it was on! Great fight, everyone!

If you are NA and want organized zerging, any of the top 6 servers would be good.

I feel like I have to pitch in here. Tier 1 is all about zerging. We’re talking massive zerg balls. That said, I think JQ and BG have a few smaller groups running lately. SoR seems to have all condensed into 4 zergs (one for each BL, obviously) during NA primetime. Sometimes they will be nice and let CAPS roam.

For the OP, you really have to experience it before you know if it is fun. As a roaming guild, we find it frustrating a lot of times, but there is no stop in action. We usually can’t play on Friday and Saturday nights though due to the massive zergs and 2 hour queues. During the week the zergs break a little more.

What is going on with the T8 consolidation since the new WvW update algorithm has been released?

Want to thank Riot, ND and Pro for the GvGs all night. We won 5 out of 6. You guys got lucky with the last one. Out numbered us 3 to 1. but was a good fight. Glad to see other active guilds.

Ohhh, vH! Yeah, those fights were fun. I wouldn’t say anyone won though since we only had 1 or 2 deaths between all of those fights (in RIOT that is; I saw a few more PRO’s drop). You guys are pro at balling up and keeping up your heals/stability/etc. Our dps elie (Ilthel on Youtube) wasn’t there, so we had a hard time picking off your stragglers, who were good at getting back to the ball. I would have kept fighting you all night, but I think PRO got bored and without them we couldn’t fight your 10 with our 4.

Keep up the hard work. Stay away from your team’s zerg, I know we will! ;-)

A lot of good advice here. I would second going with two guardians, maybe one can be a little more dps and use the GS pull, while the other support. Both should have group stability.

I have already tried thief and shortly found it no challenge… please try other classes and post some videos.
I just remembered the saying you’re only young once, but you can be immature forever.

And yet most thieves can’t come close to Yishis.

People in wvw die to thieves because EVERY thief is built for dueling and 1v1 while 80% of the wvwvw people are built for group fights… Also there already are alot of threads about how broken the class is in wvw as opposed to spvp.

Thief is the easiest class to solo play in wvw if you are skilled and like challenge play a different class and do the same. Until then it’s all the same to me.

Why so much hate? TEAM RIOT puts out a number of videos across a bunch of classes and they are all very good. No reason to insult some one because you don’t feel he meets your standard of “skill” which is relative anyway.

Maybe you should rethink how you look at the video. I doubt Yishis needs approval of forum warriors. He does a amazing job with the videos and commentary, so it shows how a good D/D thief plays in a 1vX fight which could help others learn how to counter these builds.

Riot is fairly close with Rezz and the guys from Invi. We won’t be moving, but we will see how it goes for them. If it is as amazing as you guys say it will be, we will revisit the idea of transferring.

I don’t get why you wouldn’t want to transfer. I put up with T1 for 6 months and couldn’t be happier since I moved. Yesterday you mentioned in the meeting “You think people in lower tiers aren’t as skilled or as geared” Obviously this ridiculous. If you are coming here to fight small man groups then what does it matter? Or were you saying we (The small mans) aren’t as skilled or geared, I sure hope not because I faced RIOT on T1.

It almost seems to me you are missing the point here.

I think you are missing my point(s).

I said that there are more skilled players in T1, not only because there are more people overall, but because in general there are more hardcore PvP players there than any other tier. Hardcore zerg players may not be the best skirmishers, but they know how to build their characters at least. This is a simple numbers fact, and you’re not going to make an argument that convinces me otherwise. I never said that you guys weren’t good, I am sure you are and we wish we could play against you. But we need more than 5 good guilds to fight against.

A lot of RIOT’s members play late at a night and during the day. We have played in other tiers and during off peak times they were terrible. And that was 6 months ago when the game was at its peak. So for us, US primetime population (great small guilds or otherwise) is not the only consideration.

In tiers lower than T2 when the good guilds log off, RIOT has found ourselves responsible for the meta-game. Two borderlands at most have action during the week. When we beat down the remaining players, they either log or form a big zerg that is no different than what we see all day in T1.

Money is an issue. As kind as you are to offer your money, we aren’t comfortable taking it.

We have some players who log on maybe once every week or two (Yishis for example). If we move, they aren’t going to want to take anyone’s money for a transfer when they are barely playing the game. They will just stop logging in completely. We are not willing to leave our friends behind.

I don’t think this plan will work, especially in the long run. You make it sound like a wonderful idea, but objectiveness tells me its a pipedream. For now RIOT is biding our time waiting for the next PvP game to come out, but if Rezz tells us in a couple of weeks that this move has rekindled his guild’s enjoyment for WvW, then we will start to think about it again.

I could be totally wrong. I will eat my words if things work out in T8. I certainly hope it does.
