If there was a set that combined power, condition, and ferocity, I’d be all over it. The precision gains from signet mastery would allow you to switch out precision on gear, imo.
But, alas, there’s no such set. I’d probably go Cavaliers if there was any chance of heading into Wvw and I knew I’d stick with s/s. In pve, probably sinister.
those are the stats i have been wanting for so long. one day……
i have always like the skullcracker build so i will be trying something similar. How do you feel about signet of might? i find myself working into many of my builds now so i can pop it on a guard or engi when heightened focus triggers. its so satisfying
I LOVE SKULLCRACK. oops caps. link isnt working for me although.
I see your point. what about something like, when you miss gain immunity to blindness for 2 or 3 seconds lol.
Also as far as using the Mesmer as an example, lets be honest. clones and phantasms also get any boons being pushed out around them, they catch aoe heals and any other buffs. Add to that Mesmer traits that basically punish you for touching them such as adding retaliation and applying damage confusion or torment when they die. All the while the Mesmer is auto attacking you from a safe distance because throwing clones out poses no threat to the Mesmer yet still has all the potential to burst for way more damage.
Im honestly not trying to be rude, but mesmers are playing a whole different game when compared to a warrior.

how about a new grandmaster trait that activates signet of might active effect when a burst skill is activated. sounds strong but it fits the warrior theme and would synergize with signet traits. and synergy is something warriors desperately need.
who is the designer for warriors? that is who we should be asking.
But guys they have been listening! look they changed Thick skin to 120 toughness! lol……..
is Josh Davis the guy that was put in charge of warrior changes?
Indiscriminate nerfs to already useless traits are overshadowed by the obnoxious, pointless buffs to Shoutbow, and on top of that now for whatever asinine reason they MURDERED banners?! Inspiring Standard out of tactics even. They crippled -banners-. Banners. What have -banners- done to break the game that justifies completely destroying all support for them? There’s an utter and complete lack of complementary traits now, just an entire class of utility skills with all of one relevant trait in a BAD BAD BAD HOLY CRAP THIS IS THE MOST USELESS TRAIT POSITIONING place with half the prior supports missing.
But longbow needed buffs guys! Mace gets 1-3 stacks of vulnerability, don’t forget that guys! 1-3 10s stacks of vuln is a -huge- buff guys! Situational too! But yeah that longbow wasn’t catered to enough.
Oh and shouts guys! Use those underused shouts! All of the time! They’re so much more fun than banners, just rotate your shouts over and over again guys! Why do we even have banner skills they’re so lame?
:^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^)
(I’m very very upset and will likely pitch another hissy-fit if these changes aren’t jokey or “beta”)
This is exactly what Anet does to warrior. make changes when nobody ever said they needed to be changed. I dont see any of the changes do anything to get more utility from the warrior either just more bashe here bashe there increase damage a bit. More of the same.
It doesnt make sense to make the skill worse because it doesn’t fit what the warrior is “supposed” to do. Anet again making changes to a skill nobody ever complained about. They did the same thing when they thought axe dps should only be on the end of the attack chain. Oh well what can you do really
@BurrTheKing:
I just don’t think the Stability is going to bring it up to par.I think you touched on the bigger problem … Physical abilities aren’t providing enough for people to feel like they should take them instead of other utilities.
When was the last time you saw a build with Kick, Bola, or Stomp? The only physical utility I really see making it into meta builds is Bull’s Charge.
Heck, when was the last time you saw two physical abilities in the same build? :-p
so what your saying is that stomp should be able to be used as somewhat of a warrior version of a leap to clear hurdles. COULDNT AGREE MORE! lol
as far as stability on stomp what if they just made physical training give 1 stack of stability when using a physical skill. bolas wouldnt make sense to give stability tho lol. still just a thought! we need to throw all the ideas out there!
you guys need a cage to keep you from running so much! its a fight not a track event lol
@Brawl:
You don’t think you’d be “bothered” by your target being knocked back even farther from you?
i think it would be great! another way to look at it it would be useful to break up groups that roll very tightly together for benefits. we have plenty of gap closer options so getting back on a target wont be so bad.
i really dont care to what effect, but this NEEDS TO HAPPEN! im imagining it already lol.
i actually suggested this exact idea before in a seperate thread for an idea on how to change stomp as far as making it similar to engi’s rifle 5 skill. personally i would rather have the knock back distance increased with more adrenaline just for the fun factor.
another thought, if stomp was a leap they could change the arch that the warrior travels to make it higher so jumping up terrain would be possible. would be hilarious if we could chase those teleports that shoot them straight up a ledge or bridge.
(edited by Brawl.5178)
the animation is similar to engineer rifle 5 skill so why not just make it that so it has a small ground target leap.
Besides pets and kits, venoms is the only other skill I can think. And lets face it we are probably getting pistols as some kind of condition pressure weapon so venoms would compliment that quite well. Still don’t want venoms though.
Just a thought what about mantras? mantras is just concentration similar to meditation so there doesn’t have to be any kind of magic involved.
WHAT IF! they made it so it at least looks cool and you do a 180 and stab behind you like yoshimitsu from tekken!
build I used in wvw. very high risk not that great reward unless you can 100b someone to dead before hammer stun wears off. so worth it lol. I still use this build it is way to fun. it is also me staying away from the defense tree.
what if instead of 200 toughness it was cannot be critically hit. cripple chill and immobilize are the biggest warrior killers so offering some counter play could make sense. just an idea.
That would be too strong. It would make it so no one could apply chill/cripple/immobilize on you because it would make you unkillable. There is a lot of zerkers in pvp these days and a zerger that cant crit does the same damage as someone in soldiers gear without any of the survivability. A skill like that might have room as a grandmaster trait. I know I’d take that over endure pain.
Thick Skin is borderline worthless but it’s only an adept level minor trait. Changing Thick skin to Turtle Defense sounds like a good idea.
i see your point on it. I think I felt most control durations are quite short so it wouldnt be that powerful and since most targets get out of range at that point we cant hit them.
Turtles defense is so much better than thick skin although. Somehow I don’t see it actually happening, at the very least im hoping for a change to thick skin. maybe that should be changed to cannot be crit while over 90% lol. we all know that once an ele with diamond skin gets below 90% they just melt.
Just out of curiosity what does 100 toughness convert to in armor points?
it would be fun except it would just be more using the same skills and weapons we have been.
The main problem I see with our zerk builds is just that its very difficult to stay on target. we have to get very close and we take tons of damage in the process. once we get to the target we usually have a very short window to finish the job.
what about venoms
is it mainly just to get embrace the pain so we don’t have to take cleansing ire? I can only see the bow builds without hammer being affected but some of them take 6 points into defense anyway.
It would be fun to have some flat out damage mitigation based off adrenaline. say 3 percent per bar. so 1 bar = 3% less dmg taken, 2 bars 6%, 3 bars 9%. maybe too much but ideas never hurt anyone lol.

I have been having an issue lately that makes the game unplayable. Here is what happens.
I fire up my PC , get on GW and, i can play like normal. I stop playing for a couple hours, let my PC sit idle and when i come back to log in some time later in the day i get extremely low fps, usually at about 5 fps or below.I even try to tab out so i can see whats being used in the task manager and by this point my whole PC is experiencing slow response and choppiness. If i close out of GW everything goes back to normal with the rest of my PC. The only way i know to fix it is to restart my PC. Does anyone have clues on what can be going on?
Things i have already tried are: Lowering settings to the minimum, lowering resolution, lowering the sampling, and disabling all graphics enhancements in Catalyst Control Center.
Just for Reference im using AMD 8150 at 4.6 Ghz with an Asus ATI 7970 and 16Gb DDR3 1600Mhz RAM.
i love may warrior but they are just way too simple. Warriors just have such a bad mechanic with the adrenaline, i never feel like i should even use it. many classes have f1-f4 skills, except thieves (who can teleport and get a random useful skill) and necros (who have sweet death shroud and 5 totally different skills). someone a while back an idea for warriors to have F1-F4 skills as well, with F1 remaining the same they are now and F2, F3 and F4 being stances based on Damage, Defense and Support. would make warriors more versatile for sure.
The dolyak signet seems kinda weak. It only add 90 toughness at level 80 which isn’t very much. It then gives stability when activated when we already have balanced stance and a passive trait skill that gives it. Maybe some protection for 9 1/2 seconds would he more useful instead
