It was a bit frustrating because of we were used to working with people/being rusty from tier 2 being crap lag/blobs/ques. Another guild on bl would of made a difference or let alone some riverside guys…

Riverside were on the map, they had 30 or 40 in the supply camp and were trebbing bay. The numbers going your way were total overkill and most of us felt bad about it tbh. They were somewhat necessary for the riverside force though.

The lag has killed this match up for me. Piken has been a bit dissapointing really but its the lag that makes me just want to /log and not bother.

Game is unplayable tonight – lag is really, really bad.

AR not at all. You can find a lot of us whining about playing in D3 or D4 because too much fight are zergy and its hard to find and fight group guild with less than 20 players. We dont care about ranking we just want good fight ie: no zerg and culling.

Theres plenty 30+ AR groups this week though in fairness (sure its the same with gandara having said that though).

Ah augury are far from the worst on that front. With Kodash’s numbers i think both sides have had to run more numbers than we normally would so i dont think this week is a great representation of how zergy each server is anyway.

Thats a server that makes our roaming guilds look like nooby amateurs (hell they make everyones really).
Riverside you deserve a lot of credit and respect for the way you’ve appraoched the fights this week. We asked you to come out and fight us in the open and you’ve been generous enough to oblige us and I’ve had great fun fighting you lot.
Every day you become tougher and better out there and while it hasn’t payed off much for you score wise this week the practice will benefit you in the long run.
Hope you’ve had as much fun as me anyway (at least in the fights that weren’t a laggy mess with rediculous culling).

Lots of good fights on AG BL tonight. RMS did a great job commanding and good work by a few guild groups in there (you know who you are) may the cookies be with you.

I some countries its totally normal to provoc others. Here in germany we mostly take it as an offend. Thats the reason why some ppl here took it so serious. But i guess thats the reaction u want.

And btw these guys here dont represent our server. they speak for themself.

There are nice fights between our server some we lost and we won some aswell like every week.

It seems that some ppl here use their wins as an * enlargement. Chill guys its just a GAME!

We have roaming groups of most sizes think the largest guild group you’ll see is about 20 and theres smaller groups of just about every size down from that, so im sure you can find someone somewhere to give your group a few fun fights.

While the point has been beaten to death and with it being valentines day its not the best representation of how the match has gone heres some screens of our points over the day. All times are GMT

Abbadons Mouth had taken back everything on their bl except hills when i logged back in at 7, wasn’t around to get a screenshot from earlier in the day.
Think we’d just taken bay back off them around the time of 2nd screenshot. We’d held the 2 keeps on RS from about 8 on.
The EB’ers on the server are doing a pretty kitten good job tonight. That lot are a law onto themselves, they’ll be losing gandara keep tomorrow night. But as you can see each server has control of their own bl and the only thing that will flip over the next few hours is supply camps.

Its an hour after our primetime has finished. Take one an hour previously and our point tick will probably be higher, take one an hour later and the scores will probably be more or less the same between the servers

We’re not ticking 500 points during the night, AM are probably the strongest of the 3 during the night actually.
The middle of the night is pretty even actually. You guys usually take your bl back by 3am or so and the only things that swap on any bl from that point on are camps or maybe a breakout tower.
The only difference points wise at nightime comes from SM.

We had higher point ticks at prime time at the weekend than at night time or daytime of the weekend.

We’d taken everything except one keep on your bl by the end of your prime time (ours goes on for another hour by which time we’d taken everything). We’d been ‘nuking’ you for a few hours at that point.
Our point ticks have consistently been highest at both weekend and the week during prime time.
I suggest you tell the players whining about nightcapping to log in during prime time and we might not have overtaken you.

Maybe SN or TDA can offer some solutions to how they’ve dealt with culling since the patch then, think they run with the same numbers.

Like i said the difference between 8 and 10 is massive. Recruit 2 more, it’ll let you loosen up your tactics a bit more
I guess im talking about the whole scouting thing because we’ve had our own issues with culling and this was one of the solutions we came up with. It worked quite well.

I find their healing better at topping people off, guardians is more consistent but not as … spiky (?). Their cc is nice too, the 2 snares help a lot.
We dont worry too much about damage 10 guys hitting the same few at the same time will kill pretty much anything, its more about staying alive.
Having said all this i do think theres a critical mass with people in wvw and the difference between 8 and 10 or 12 and 15 is massive.

DD ele does the job well too. Its more about the mobility than the stealth. They’re pretty decent in that set up, theres probably better but they’re no slouches.
Agreed about thieves being lacking on that front, think most of ours are using different classes at this stage.

We dont have a few anything. We are 7 -8 ppl in the guild and when we roam we need people on useful toons.

Thief isn’t useful in that set up?
I guess you cant really spare the people in that situation, still a good thief should be able to get back to your main group before fighting starts

ah sorry, get you … yeah no solution to that really. In Dius we ideally like to face similar odds (not many opportunities this week) we kill our way into safe spots. We have enough numbers to clear out a spot fast though

Is there any particular reason you think gandara is planting the rams around eb and trolling your team speak server though? Not trying to shift the blame on AM just curious.

As for who ‘deserves’ to win – the server that wins will deserve it.
If RS win it’ll have been earned due to doing an outstanding defensive job over the weekend and giving us the hardest keep recapture we’ve ever had on the server by miles and miles and miles (just please dont do it to us again, I’m pretty sure ill rage quit if you do).
If we win it we’ll have earned it by staging a pretty amazing comeback. Our highest point ticks each day have been at primetime too so no one can accuse of PvD’ing our way to victory.

We stage pretty big comebacks on pretty much a weekly basis at this stage but this one will be special if we do pull it off. I dont think we’ve ever pulled back a 40k lead though i think a couple of occasions we’re close ish. And while I’m not a huge fan of fighting your tactics (personal taste nothing more) I cant deny that your very, very good at what you do and easily one of the strongest servers we’ve run into

Yeah we had great scouting today. You guys still managed to get south gate down before we got in tho! But it took too long for your golems to get to the north inner gate which gave us room to organise and build counter siege.

Zumy, just to let you know. We always run with 15-25 guildies. 25 is very rare however. And we always try to not run with random players. Maybe you got unlucky today. You can QQ about it in the forums here or keep your head up and play for the win! There are still plenty of days left so you guys still have it in control.

I dont think ive ever seen 25 of us on at the same time, let alone in wvw together. Hell 15 isn’t particularly common, its usually closer to 10 in my experience.
I’ve only been in the guild a couple of weeks though so you know better.

Its just extremely boring to (try to) counter.
The criticism of your style and ‘hiding behind your siege’ etc. comes from people on Gandara hating to play the way you play. Seriously we cant keep siege up for longer than an hour or two, no one wants to hang around the keeps and refresh it. No one wants to sit in keeps and scout.
There’ll probably be about 2 or 3 players playing that way at primetime and I’m pretty sure they do it to be helpful as oppossed to enjoying playing that way.
People interpret you … manning siege in keeps as being due to fear of fighting us in the open.
Were a server who enjoys a fight in the open field and your not providing much entertainment on that front so were not having much fun.
But I suppose its unfair to criticise you for playing the way you enjoy playing.

Anyway there was a few good fights today so i got some entertainment out of the match.

Think its a bit unfair to criticise us using trebs (maybe your not?). You know well that the number of AC’s you have up will tear through any number or people we send to the gates within seconds.
MNSG and IF (respect) aren’t hiding in keeps but they’re the only people you see outside of them. The rest are camped on the AC’s, if you go within a mile of one of your keeps you have a hail of arrows on your head instantly.
I also suspect you are more (this week). Theres no queues on any borderland this week, when we’ve had 30 min q’s for all for the past month and a bit.
People really dont like fighting you, they find you a spectacularly boring enemy and most just aren’t bothering this week.
Numbers dont matter much anyway, so no complaints from me
Anyway its safe enough to say you’ve won this week, so maybe you could stop the siege fetish thing and come out of keeps so we have a few fun fights?

Oh and thanks RMS, you and the pugs did a great job too.
Keeping riverside and augary locked in the southern end of the map is no easy task and we held out for a long, long time. So it was a great effort by all involved.
Keep that up and we’ll do well again next week

Yeah i cant say it bothers me. But then the alt+f4 thing didn’t really bother me either.
Its not as low as that but its basically the same thing.

Look it warranted being questioned you cant deny that and as far as the way he went about questioning it, it’d be difficult to phrase it in a more respectful manner.

But whatever, TIA are aware of it and know how the situation came about so how they deal with is their business.
From the sounds of things they’re a well respected guild, who have little love for cheating so lets just give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that if they did end up in a dodgy location it was unintended and we know they didn’t take advantage of it so no harm done.

Lets move on and hopefully it doesn’t sour the thread or (a very, very good) match up.

We recently merged and we used to run small melee heavy teams so we’re kinda used to get in, get out stuff. Thing is they run range heavy so it’s still new to all of us. That being said, we’re working on it, as you can see in the vid :p

Looks really good, vast majority of guild groups seem to rely more on melee bursts, just nice to see someone trying something different. Good luck with it anyway a bit of variety in tactics is nice to see.

Yes they have huge numbers but I think AR now see they could be fighting a very close battle if night service ramps up tonight and tomorrow…. We’ve done 35k in a night, we can put the heat on them

We’ve been doing that for a few nights now and the score has been getting wider despite it.
By 6/7 they’ve reversed the numbers and we’re ticking for 100 or so points and it stays that way till prime time, at which point its an unhill struggle to get back to level terms because of upgrades on everything.
So i wouldn’t bet on us catching up unfortunately

Think there was a report of turkish elite using speed hacks a week or two ago, as far as i remember tortun said he’d look into it.

Yeah it is.
Heard great things about them when they were in tier 1 / 2, was kind of hoping they’d be able to put up some kind of fight to see what all the compliments were about.
But they seem dead, was on after reset for 4 hours and from about 4pm today and didn’t see a single arborstone player till 7 tonight. (The vast majority of that time i was on their bl too)
Feel bad taking towers and keeps off you but if we dont AR will so.
You can still see the remnants of a good wvw server there as the odd player does something pretty clever that you wouldn’t have seen before but they have no where near enough numbers to compete in this tier. Suspect its going to be a long drop for them.

Yeah you sum it up pretty well utha. Gandara will have a hard time closing the gap you’ve created (seriously doubt we will) but i’ve had some great fights already, so nothing stopping it being a fun week despite the score. Good week to get some practice in if nothing else.

Just drop the whole hills thing, its irrelevant. Worst case scenario it saved them 5 mins capping hills. Realistically it probably saved them about 20 secs.
As for people criticising you night capping – get used to it. Most will accept its part of the game and wont kitten about it but no one is fond of it. There’ll always be a few on every single server in the game that hate it and are vocal about hating it.

We had all but one of your catas down and you were rebuilding in fairness. You would’ve taken it regardless so im not going to complain, it was more weird than anything.
I presume your going to kick the mesmer which glitched in and took advantage by porting people in anyway.

20 min q and counting for all maps on gandara
Kind of thinking about jumping down to a lower tier to avoid them but with all the jumping about its pretty impossible to tell who will be on a lower tier once things settle.
Hopefully a few massive guilds are having an event or something and its not going to be something i have to get used to.

Had some fun fights on gandara bl, the pugs banded together and prevented a pretty strong dz force from doing any more damage than capping hills. Had a few pretty good fights vs some dz. Cheers to kaligula for leading, gj as always.
