So Gandara I know you are looking for WvW guilds… but I guess you dont want those kind of easymode guilds that moved to us? As i know your not fully qued on all the bl’s atm.

We’ve gotten our fair share of bandwagoners recently and they haven’t added anything positive to the server other than numbers. I’m sure theres exceptions but can’t say I’d jump at the opportunity to take yours off your hands (not that either of us have any choice in the matter).
Most of ours have probably jumped ship to you once they saw you were more organised, sticking with us would require effort on their part to get up tiers. Or maybe thats just wishful thinking.
Will say we got a couple of really good guilds recently, TDA and xXx spring to mind. Dont want to lump every single transfer we’ve gotten recently into the same basket

Noone needs to have invited them, if they want to come, they’ll come and unfortunately there’s nothing we can do to stop them.
It would be nice however if they listened to people from our server when we say we’re effectively full and there is no room for them.
Or if they don’t want to listen to us, listen to the people from other servers who’ve made countless recruitment posts practically begging people to move to their server where they’ll become valued among their WvW community.

From my experience i doubt the bandwagoners would be welcome anywhere. They’re usually bad and the second things dont go their way they start moaning, nerd raging and disappear.
Its nearly a good thing that they migrate around servers imo, saves any one server having to deal with them for any length of time. I pity the poor saps who get stuck with them when free transfers close.

Caid that explains alot, but if thats gandara’s way then surely there should be alot less qq over server reset… as its not your strongest time and its out the way now. Both ways are viable, some servers slack off at end of week, some others push harder… by pushing hard at start usually makes you more likely to be targeted by both, its what we always done pre elona match up.

We used to be better on reset and slack off later in the week but after losing a couple of matches to fort ranik in the last day or two things changed.
Its probably better to concentrate more on the reset, if you end up far behind then people just give up or if you take a significant lead over the 2 servers then they just start concentrating on each other aiming for 2nd place. Depends who you’re up against i guess.
Wasn’t on last night but judging purely by scores it was probably a bit kitten to be a gandaran or augury player. Some people dont need much excuse to be moany anyway

People shouldn’t take being called a zerg so personally btw, to half of gandara it basically means more than 5 players. Its not really a comment on how your using the numbers

Yes we have had quite a large influx of people who did not make themselves known to our WvW community and just joined ‘under the radar.’ We are still seeing new guild tags pop up all over the place aswell, and most are not very happy about it as our queues at prime time have reappeared this past week or so and sometimes they can get quite lengthy. And yes, anyone from Piken that still says we’re winning despite having a smaller WvW population is deluding themselves.

Same for us (large influx of randoms), mostly over christmas. Haven’t seen a q in wvw in months and it’d never be for more than the 1 map. Last week we had (brief) q’s on all maps at one point. Typical gandara a couple of days later we couldn’t even fill our home bl, let alone get any sort of force on any other map, our population has always been really inconsistent (wvw wise).
Can’t say i’m a fan of many of the new players as the general mood and attitude of the server has gone downhill in recent weeks. I kind of hope some of the bandwagoners move along because their attitude is lousy (theres certainly exceptions in there so dont take it too personally if you’re new).
Re. the ‘holidays hurt us more’ guys – I think most of us realised it (i did anyway) its just not particularly nice to have it pointed out repeatedly. We felt proud of beating you even if it was a weaker version of you, discrediting the win as opposed to a simple gz grated a bit. A win is a win at the end of the day and the fun, points, ranking and everything else gained were as real over the holiday week as they are any other.

Anyway after fighting you over recent weeks I dont expect to see you again particularly soon. I really dont see anything stopping you from reaching tier 1 as your guilds are better than the vast majority and your offpeak numbers seemed quite high towards the end of the last week.
We’ll probably bounce between this tier and one or two below for a few weeks.
Developing the guild squads is definitely an important part of us growing and competing but i think we should remember what got us where we are – good commanders making clever use of the pugs that will always be knocking around the maps and just generally good communication and scouting by the players on the server. Lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
We had a solid base of players who dragged us up the tiers, so theres something to work with on the server. The next few weeks are going to be a transitional, it’ll be interesting to see how the server develops.

we’ve been weak at reset for a good while, we tend to push hard in the last couple of days. If we can keep in arms reach of the 1st spot till wednesday / thursday we’ll often drag ourselves in front for the end of the week – which probably tires us out for the friday reset. Its a different strategy but i dont think its a weaker one than trying to build a massive lead at the start of the week so you cant be caught.

Another rematch I imagine, would take a good push by both augury and jade sea to see us relegated. Augury in particular because I think jade sea have squeezed most of the points they’re going to get out of their matchup already.
Think we’ll scrape 2nd place this week though. Probably depends mostly on who piken decides to pick on for the day : P
One of us will more than likely get relegated next week though.

Weird day on gandara, server just seems really demoralised and a pretty defeatist attitude knocking about.
Going from q’s on pretty much every borderland earlier in the week, to virtually no one outside of gandara bl and no q on home map.
Dont see any shame in losing to Piken and with AR afternoon / morning numbers we should be proud to be ahead of them.
Maybe people are just burned out or bored of fighting the same servers, hopefully get a more cheerful mood on the server tomorrow.

I remember that fight Caid… was it half a hour? lol it sure did take awhile haha Was really good back and forth, plenty of downs and no kills, or only a few kills of randoms, or gandara players respawning and coming back but was mostly a stalemate, until I got the guys to follow my calls more and faster. It wasn’t pointless we had to see which side was going to win that fight =D

There was a good few deaths at the start of the fight but they slowed down a lot as more of you guys came to replace the pugs. Think there was only 1 death on either side after 5 or 10 mins fighting at the supply camp when i logged. I figured it would’ve ended in stalemate, did anyone actually win the fight? (presume you)
Anyway was fun

Had a fun fight against a few tup and randoms between hills and greenlake for about half an hour tonight on their bl, completely pointless for all involved but was enjoyable. Which i guess is the point of wvw.
Would’ve happily spent the night screwing around fighting you lot but i need sleep

Well i had great fun today (culling issues aside).
I think gandara is starting to get to grips with the more organised guilds out there.
TUP is still kicking our kitten though you only see 3 people doing stupid suicidal things at a time compared with 5 or 6 before, so thats good to see.
Ran into a few guild squads who aren’t as crazy good as TUP who would have given us a hard time a week or two ago but were killed with surprising ease by a few pugs.
Anyway win or lose these matches have been a great learning experience for gandara and i think we’ve learned more from piken in a week than we have in 2 months worth of previous match ups.
Surprising number of players running around from both gandara and aurora, seems both have benefited from server transfers recently. Not only do we have q’s on our home bl and eb, which hasn’t happened in ages, we had q’s on ar’s borderland for a while

‘PUG warbands’

PUG warbands is a pretty good description of gandara really. In fairness all the individual players on the server seem pretty good, it just doesn’t go far when you run into an organised group of pretty good players.
Theres definitely room for improvement anyway. We’ve been particularly poor this week but then it could just be that you being better than the average bunch has exposed the weaknesses of a few areas on the server.

Yeah this week our lack of organisation has really been punished by TUP and VII in particular, having seen it, its surprising it hasn’t cost us more in this match or previous ones.
I’ve only been on for an hour or two in total at prime time to see them and in that relatively short space of time its already obvious why they’re wiping far larger numers of us but its pretty disheartening to see us falling for the same ‘tricks’ over and over again.
We keep chasing them when they back off and that 40 man zerg gets spread out over a mile in pockets of 2 or 3 players which when rushed by 10/15 Piken just melt like butter. They keep turning tail and running straight into lines of warding when if they stood their ground and tried to do some damage when they were inevitably going to die they might halt the rush a bit sooner (or at all).
Anyway seems to be quite a few new guilds knocking about so a welcome to any new gandarans. Even if we were organised before (we weren’t, at all) we’d probably have to reorganise to make best use of the new guys. So its a good opportunity to get our act together and maybe give some of the guilds from AR and PS a better fight in future, instead of the current situation with them wiping the floor with us due to some pretty basic tactics.

Yeah we saw you running in before taking bay and new you’d be porting people up first chance you got, seemed you kept a couple of mesmers by the wall to get any late comers in or people who died. We seemed to kill dozens of you before we lost bay but you just kept coming. We didn’t react spectacularly well to it really, which unfortunately has been a bit of the story of this week in particular.

More or less the first post in this thread is accusing Tortun and [yak] of hacking. Both have a good reputation on our server. You gloated about taking over our borderlands a few nights ago and yes tortun is trolling you about it now but so what? You dont see people throwing a hissy fit about it when the shoe was on the other foot.
If we’ve mistaken your attitude then rise above it and prove us wrong.
Both servers have acted rediculous in both matchup threads and any claims otherwise are deluded.
Most of our players are focusing you because most of us want to get out of this tier (and troll you in the process) from reports the higher tier is going to be worse so the only way is down.
We want to get out of this tier because the attitude of your server sucks and ours in the past week has been equally lousy, we want out of this tier because fights in lower tiers (when its not a whitewash) are more enjoyable.
We’re trolling you because your nerd rage over trivial crap like capping stuff off peak is the most entertaining aspect of this match up tbh.
I expect AR to increase their lead at the top and they’ve earned it but winning this match up isn’t really the aim for half our players at this point.

Other servers generaly don´t rely on their guilds as much, so they usualy will have easier time even when most of the guilds go inactive.

You should recognise that as a weakness with this week being a good opportunity to work on it instead of writing this week off as a failure in advance.
You have enough good players, working well together (and sheer numbers, though i know you’ll disagree on that point) to compete with AR and us.
Not trying to be condescending but the PS ive been fighting for the past week is good enough to win this match.

We have got just one big mess on Piken Square this WvW week hopefully after xmas when our guilds will back to playing everything will back to normal.

Hopefully see this same servers next match up so we can solve who is the strongest here with our real power.

We’re all miles away from going up or down a tier so we more than likely will see each other next week.
Doubt it’ll be much better next week with new years and all though.

Seems to have been AR’s day today, they’ve held on to everything of note in their BL all day and just taken SM. Every map i’ve set foot on they have massive numbers. Really haven’t given us a chance to get off the backfoot most of the day (until you started picking on PS for a bit).
Maybe its us and PS focusing each other has left you relatively free from having to defend but the current gap wont stay that way for long if they keep that up.

The [PRO] stuff seems legit.. I just wanted to say that not everyone who shouts “hack” is right. This thread lately looks like all hackers united against Gandara…
Beside all those right accusations (right written?) there are always those that aren’t.
And again.. noone I asked every saw [PRO] on AM.. maybe someone, of a previous match, is mad at you and now trolls you through our server.

I think most of Gandara recognise that 99% of your server fight fair and earn every point they get. Previous match ups against you were some of the most fun matches i’ve had. Its just a pity that the 1% is going a long way to ruining what otherwise has been a great match.

I also never seen someone of the PRO guild, but yesterday I led a small zerg on Gandara BG, [Army] was also there. Suprisingly we get the bay, but no one of the both zerg was there. In chat I asked who takes the bay, but no one answered.

I think someone could hack the bay, but it was nobody of the active comunity.

Yeah that was more than likely [PRO], we lost it shortly after they teleported into garrison.
The inner walls of bay were at 100%, we had a pretty big group out front and there was no crossed swords before it flipped.
The outer wall was down though so its possible a small group ninja’d it, extremely unlikely because we had people passing through but possible.

You should expect to be 2v1’d on your own borderland, the only way to avoid it is to push one server off the map.
We’re trying to take territory off AR but theres much better maps to do it on than your borderlands and neither server is far enough ahead of you to ignore you.
Personally im camped on your borderlands because im vindictive and petty and PRO pissed me off

I dont think they were cooperating, i think it was more Jade Seas general tactic in this tier is to pick on the weaker of their 2 enemies while ignoring the stronger. You get the distinct impression when fighting them that they’re not trying to win so much as not come last.
Anyway FR are basically experiencing what we’ve had to deal with in every previous match up with them

Also i didn’t see some tactics on FR side besides the standaard zerg groups and even then they aren’t that good. I think FR is winning against FS because they have more manpower. Because when we face them with 20vs40 we still win.

They’re more smart than good. They use their numbers well and when they zerg they zerg hard and fast making it tough to get a defence together before you lose stuff.
Not a particularly fun server to fight though (leaving numbers aside which doesn’t help obviously).
Was a fun week fighting you lot too anyway, you’ve got more and more organised over the week which in my opinion is the only thing holding you guys back from making this tier your home, till you get more numbers anyway.
You’ll give Abaddons or Jade Sea a good match anyway if you drop a tier
