Hi, I logged in but did not receive new log in reward. I don’t mind entirely but I just want to know if I didn’t get it because I’d already done my monthly? Most of the people I spoke to seem to have received it.
Thanks

There will ALWAYS be some kind of meta, because there will ALWAYS be a most efficient way of clearing content. ALWAYS.
You have the ability to go to the LFG tool and create a group with “any build allowed”. YOU HAVE THAT CHOICE. You are NOT being forced into playing zerk.
If meta groups want to play meta, LET THEM. You do NOT have to do so as well.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN
Over time, women and men have
concentrated in different fields of
training. In every panel between
1984 and 2009, a high proportion
of adults with an education degree
were women while a high proportion
of adults with an engineering
and computer science degree were
men (Figures 4a–4d). In every panel
between 1984 and 2009, women
held 75 percent or more of associate’s
and bachelor’s degrees in
education and 60 percent or more
of advanced degrees in education.
In contrast, women held 25 percent
or less of bachelor’s and advanced
degrees in engineering fields and
less than 35 percent of associate’s
and vocational certificates in engineering
during the same period.
The proportion of women in some
fields grew from 1984 to 2009,
with similar trends at the associate’s,
bachelor’s, and advanced
degree levels. For example, the
proportion of women with a degree
in business increased during this
period for those with an associate’s,
bachelor’s, and advanced degree.
At the vocational certificate level,
women held around 80 percent of
degrees in business at the beginning
and end of this period, reflecting
women’s concentration in clerical
occupations over time. Similarly,
women held around 90 percent of
vocational certificates in the natural
sciences in 1984 and 87 percent of
these certificates in 2009, reflecting
women’s continued concentration
in the field of nursing.11

Engineering pays more than education. As there are more men in engineering than there are in education, men are on average earning more than women. Is this conversation really happening.

The median weekly earnings of women who were full-time wage and salary workers were $669, or 81 percent of men’s $824. When comparing the median weekly earnings of persons aged 16 to 24, young women earned 95 percent of what young men earned ($422 and $443, respectively).

Really, after your own sources support my position, you ask me to read?
Wage: Payment for labor or services to a worker, especially remuneration on an hourly, daily, or weekly basis or by the piece.
Earning: To gain especially for the performance of service, labor, or work
Call it what you want, that still doesnt make it any better for your position.
The average earnings from women with the same work experience, education, and hours of work per year is lower than men, there’s a gap. Wanna call it the “gender earning gap”, be my guest.
It’s like you don’t even WANT to be wrong.
I’m going to lay this out as simply as I possibly can. After each part, I’m going to stop to make you you’re keeping up.
There are more men in the workforce then there are women. Ok?
There are also more men in higher paying fields. Ok?
Women in these fields actually get paid the same hourly wage, $$$$$$. Ok?
The average earnings of all men across all fields are X. Ok?
The average earnings of all women across all fields are Y. Ok?
Because there are less women in the workforce than men, and more men in higher paying fields, Y is therefore smaller than X. Ok?
This is because it averages out. Ok?
It is not because of women being paid a smaller hourly wage than men doing the exact same work and the exact same hours. Ok?

http://content.healthaffairs.org/content/30/2/193.short this article deals with average earnings of all male newly trained physicians vs. newly trained female physicians. There are more newly trained male physicians, therefore more average earnings.

Wait what? Your post seems to insinuate that there’s no gender earning-gap (please no, so many debates with men’s right movements have beaten this horse pretty bad for me) patriarchy in western society and women marginalization. These aspects of our society influence games, specially the male-dominated culture.
Well, I’m not an MRA, but I’ll assume that what I’m about to say is similar to their rhetoric. Maybe if you just opened your mind and considered the possibiltiy that your worldview is incorrect, it wouldn’t feel like a dead horse being beaten?
Oh, no, there IS an earnings gap. But how is an earnings gap an injustice? What you need to understand is that the earnings gap isn’t telling us that between a woman and a man working the same job, a man is earning slightly more than that woman simply because he’s a man. What the earning gap is telling us, if you employ your reading comprehension skills I sincerely hope you picked up in primary school, is that over the average hours worked by all men and all women, women (again, on average) earn slightly less than men (on average). Women get paid the same as men individually, it’s just there are less women working, and more men working in higher paying fields (fields such as mining, construction, etc.) Depending on your country, go to your bureau of statistics web page and look for the difference in earnings between men and women. What it will say, black and white, is that this is an average built up over all hours worked across all fields by all men and all women. There is no PAY gap. There is an EARNINGS gap. So long as we’re a species that procreates sexually, with the female of our species carrying the child in her womb, there will ALWAYS be that earning gap.
If you look deeper, at more specific areas, there are actually other earning gaps…for example, in men and women aged between 19-29, women are actually earning more on average than men. There is an earnings gap that is age group specific, and it is in favor of women. It is not a wage gap, it is an earnings gap.
Wage gap:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_pay_gap_in_Australia
http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2013/05/the-biggest-myth-about-the-gender-wage-gap/276367/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_pay_gap_in_Australia
Note key word “average”
Why then? source?
Why what? Why are they marginalized? They aren’t. It’s offensive to every ACTUALLY marginalized group to suggest that women are, for being women, marginalized. When you look at rights, benefits, etc. that the government gives to men and women, and compare them, women end up being better off. This is limited to the western world, ofcourse. Women technically have more government rights given to them than men. Is that typical of marginalized groups? My findings would suggest that, uh, no, it isn’t.
You just denied 3 long-standing facts, are you sure you’re studying these issues?
Just stating they are “long standing facts” doesn’t actually MAKE them long standing facts. I hope you know that.
Please go ahead, dispute those long-established facts.
I did.
Why not? Anet is free to compensate for anything they want, under-representing the privileged group is not an injustice, refer to the social enciclopedia linked above for more info.
Sure they are. But it wouldn’t be a smart thing to do.
Privilege influences videogames too, this last part makes it clear that you’re not as enlightened on these issues as you claim, meh, quite the opposite.
For example, I (white, male & heterosexual) can take a peek thru steam right now and there’s a pretty big chance that I’ll find videogames with male, white and heterosexual protagonists. In fact, if I looked at last year’s top games, 96% had me in mind, while 4% had women.
That’s just a short example
It’s not a “privilege” that my sex is over represented in video games. Guess what…want more women in video games? Start funding groups like the Fine Young Capitalists. Stop tearing down the female-written heroines like Bayonetta. Make your own games. Because guess what pumpkin, this is capitalism. The audience drives the market. So long as you have straight white boys who can’t be bothered filling their societal roles of “checking their privilege,” and who would prefer to just play video games and stick their middle finger at the rest of the world, you will have a market seeped in this types of characters.
Feel free to see everything as an injustice, but just understand that it isn’t one.
Protect him at all costs.
From my memory, you didn’t NEED to “grind out” (subjective) the titles, because they weren’t NEEDED for the content. It was the speed clear groups that wanted them. I remember DoA ursan runs…it was a form of speed clear, it wasn’t how the content was designed.
@ Vayne, just saying you’ve “played longer” than both of us doesn’t do anything for your point.
Protect him at all costs.
Ah the good old rose-tinted glasses seems to sell well these days.
People tend to complain about how much you need to grind in Guild Wars 2, and yet they complete disregard the massive amounts of grind needed for quite some stuff in Guild Wars 1.
Such as almost everything on this list.Obsidian Armor is probably one of the most grindy things to get in any western game. DoA (Domain of Anguish) also required not only completion of the story mode, but also spending time grinding titles in order to get more or less required skills and a required title which protected against the enemies there.
As for the whole “huge chunk of added content every 6 months” that only ever happened ONCE during the time of the game. Between Faction and Nightfall. Between Prophecies and Factions it was almost exactly a year.
Between Nightfall and Eye of the North was little less than a year.
I dunno where the rose tinted glasses are, friend. Because I didn’t complain about the grind in GW2. I’m just saying it worked better in GW1.
Protect him at all costs.
I’ve been reading quite a lot of discussion recently on the forums about where the game should be going, and how arena net isn’t really communicating with us very effectively about this. I’m not going to talk about the HR aspect of that discussion, but I wanted to talk about something.
First of all I know Guild Wars 2 is a completely separate entity from Guild Wars 1 – they have nothing to do with one another, short of loose lore threads and a shared name. But I wanted to bring something up, both as a reminder to veterans of the franchise, and something that people who didn’t play GW1 can think about.
It’s about “endgame” and what constitutes a good “endgame”. I’m not going to start begging for 10, 20, 25 man raids with a steep gear progression. I’m going to talk about Guild Wars 1’s end game.
Because I fondly remember how many years I put into GW1’s end game, always with a goal…some of them I never quite finished. So what did we do in GW1’s end game that’s missing from GW2?
The Underworld and the Fissure of Woe. These zones were hardcore. Before multitudes of gimmicky builds started flooding the community, these were a challenge. People went in them, often wiping, for the rare chance at one of the many rare materials needed to craft the most prestigious armor skin:
Obsidian armor. I thought about this for a minute and realized…well, we have Ascended armor. It’s expensive to craft and has a unique appearance. But what made Obsidian armor so much more prestigious is the fact that you needed to complete very difficult content, and quite a bit of it. Not only that but you could only acquire the armor itself deep within one of these end game zones – the Fissure of Woe.
Guild Wars 2 needs it’s own “Obsidian armor”, for one thing.
Domain of Anguish. This was Fissure of Woe/Underworld on steroids. It was a zone that was divided into four sections, each one with a rare chance to drop a specific item. After you collected enough, you could trade them for ONE rare, prestigious, expensive skin.
Guild Wars 2 needs it’s own Domain of Anguish.
Hard mode. This was the same content, with added challenge. This kept people going. You’d complete everything on Hard mode on one map, and you’d do the next one. And it was CHALLENGING.
Whether it was explorable zones or missions (essentially story dungeons), they required co-ordination and skill.
Guild Wars 2 needs it’s own hard mode.
Titles. Titles meant something in Guild Wars 1, because for most of them, they were a sign of “I have completed this in hard mode”, or “I have explored this region” (exploring was different in that game). Titles in this game aren’t as valuable. They aren’t as respected, short of some of the PvP titles.
The huge chunk of added content every 6 months…or “Campaigns.”
This is Cantha & Elona. BIG packs of content, essentially expansions, that came only 6 months between.
Guild Wars 2 could do with it’s own “campaigns.”
I’ve only listed the main ones, and I’ve tried to word it so it doesn’t sound like I’m demanding exactly what GW1 had. I’m asking for GW2’s equivalents.
The game needs content to keep people invested and happy. GW1 had that content. GW2 could learn a lot from it’s ancestor.

It’s funny how offended people seem to be that i didn’t say it picture perfect.
@Zaklex yes i am perfectly aware there’s more then 1. I remember perfectly well how many “Tequetals” we fought trying to get to Zhaitan
They were all the same…but multiple indeed.
I will keep my initial idea…that the thing they showed in the trailer, that is just 2 times at best bigger then a human is NOT a dragon champion. Maybe a legendary or champion trash. It depends on each person’s view what he considers to be a champion or not.
He also is in no way Mordi like the poster initially thought but u deviated the initial idea. If he is indeed Mordi or a dragon champion (which i already stated which is in my opinion), i would be extremely disappointment. Nothing epic about it.
Nah bro, I think you’re getting offended for being called out on something you were incorrect about. But it’s chill.
Dragon Champion refers to any creature that champions their respective elder dragon…as was stated, this includes small champions.
the creature in the trailer may or may not be a champion, either way, it will be a DIFFERENT champion to the one we fought at the grove.

Is there a known bug with the story achievements of this patch? I’m referring specifically to the achievements within the Caithe’s Reconnaisance quest, and the Glints Lair quest.
I’ll list what I’ve noticed, after several tries, to seem wrong:
Arm all the mordrem corpse mines – still no achievement
Keep all npc’s alive – still no achievement
Arm NONE of the mordrem corpse mines – still no achievement
Defeat malevolent memory without transferring any boons – i was so careful of this, used a build and armor/weapon set that gave me absolutely 0 boons – still no achievement
Defeat facet of light using only red buff – still no achievement
Reduce hp of facet of darkness from 75 – 0 in 15 seconds – still no achievement
I’ve done all of these more than once, have been very careful, and done hard resets of the instance if I failed (by the rules).
Do I need to have completed the meta achievements of previous story journals? Or is this just a known bug of the current patch? Some of these are time consuming, namely the red buff one, and I’m getting a little burnt out of doing it. Response please!

I’m sorry, look, I really sympathize with the stress that is Liadri, but despite the fact that I too have attempted the fight MANY MANY times, I have never thought it needed a nerf. The game is SO devoid of good PvE challenges that provide you with something to show off (title and mini, as an example). I PRAISE the existence of Liadri. It’s not impossible, the fact that people have completed it can attest to that.
Without sounding harsh and cold, it really is a case of…if you can’t complete the content you don’t deserve the reward. If you want the mini, the title, the AP, then dedicate the time. Even with that said, and even with the life steal bug, Liadri is not for every man and his dog to complete.

Hmm, I think for me, atleast, is that player housing would really fit in to GW2’s vision of horizontal progression. It may be a bit lame but in my mind player housing for GW2 would look like a graphically much nicer version of Runescape housing (I had so much fun with that feature back in the day).
Additionally, we already have a home instance with things we can add to it through LS meta’s (ore nodes), having a dedicated house in that instance, as well as a new crafting profession associated with it (construction? carpentry?) would add a lot of depth to the home instance, give people a reason to revisit it and bring people in to it, have a new craft to work on, as well as a whole new world of horizontal progression available for people to experiment with.
IMO this form of “player housing” would work with GW2 so, so, so perfectly, and I realize it would take a lot to get it into the game, and probably most likely, but in my mind it would work.

Hmm, I used to feel the same, and all the fractal skins I’ve gotten have been sort of useless to me…but at the moment fractal skins are the only real sign of skill in pve. Ofcourse RNG sort of diminishes that since someone could get the skin they want on their first FotM28 run, but all in all I like where they are now. Just play lots of fractals and you’ll get your skins soon enough

Sorry I should have phrased it better, what I meant is that most of my recent time investment in GW2 has been to get good at different classes and gear them up in anticipation for upcoming content, which is why I used it in the argument of “I’m burnt out because it doesn’t feel like there’s anything coming”

I started working on my second legendary…a small one, the focus, since I’ve been playing a lot of D/F on Ele. I bought a few extra bag slots for him, grinded a couple of ascended armor pieces, 50% map completion, had a pretty set goal in mind.
But today I just logged in and I felt like I did it for nothing. I only really wanted to aim for a second legendary to give myself something to do in the game seeing as there is very little else to work towards. I made a second warrior and played around on him for a bit after seeing some footage of their potential after the april 15 patch, and because I had sunrise I knew I could just pop it over to him once he hit 80 and I’d be sweet…But for what? I don’t know where this game is going, and because I know I’m emotionally invested in the company and have been for years and years and years, I feel sad. I’ve spent a fair bit of my wages on gems, which I don’t regret, I’ve managed to get a lot of the armor sets and additional things for my wardrobe.
I’ve farmed a sunrise, various pieces of ascended stuff and 7 level 80’s…but my feeling right now is that the game is at a halt. That nothing is coming for it. Temporary content, while fun, just isn’t something that the game can thrive off of. I have all this time invested, fun time, happy time, that I don’t regret investing into the game, but I want to know if that’s it for Guild Wars 2.
ArenaNet, this is a cry for help.
You have neglected to talk to us about any upcoming content for months now, and that’s not okay. I don’t doubt you are working kitten Season 2, but you need to give us something – anything, ANYTHING to plan for, to anticipate, to prepare our characters for gear wise and build wise, to give us something to play around with.
Super Adventure box would have worked so well, SO SO SO well for the current period, and there is not shortage of people TELLING you that. The WvW tournament? Great! Most players who aren’t entirely invested in a constant involvement in the mists have already done the meta and have opted out of any more involvement.
We have heard rumors from obscure places about an “expansion in the works”, and the fact that the community is so thirsty for information, so desperate for something to think about other than the admittedly stale state of the GW2 world really says a lot.
You need to love your community.
I know some people, especially on the forums, are incredibly hostile. But that’s why you have customer service reps. That is their job, to sate the hostility.
But as for the majority of us who have so much hope and love for this game, the quiet majority who would cry tears of pure joy at just about anything at this point….people like me, and I can only speak for myself, but I feel really neglected.
ArenaNet, you need to tell us something.
You need to give us something.
You need to keep us updated (take FF14 ARR management for example).
Please. The game needs something and the community needs something.
That is the responsibility of managing an MMO, and mine is simply the expectation that comes with it.
Please! (sorry for my poor typing I’m very tired)

They added Southsun (though I’m sure some would like them to take it back…), the Queen’s Jubilee changed the construction area in DR, and LA still isn’t fixed (which makes it semi-permanent so far). So that shows the LS can add long term content, which is part of why I expect to get some new areas in season 2.
Yeah they added those things and thats great for free stuff, but if a GW2 expansion gave us an empty island, changed 1/6th of one of the main cities and made another one completely redundant, you’d be left wondering what had actually expanded in this expansion.
Living Story may very well have the capability to give us expansion style content, but it hasn’t yet, so we can’t say it will until we see it. Expansions give people the type of content that they want.

You can go for a full set of level 80 exotic gear, which by the sounds of things is what you have already. Make sure you get the accessories too, most of them can be found on the Trading Post.
For builds, check out https://www.youtube.com/user/DEKeyz2Chaos
I base most of my Ele builds on her builds, she’s a pretty reputable ele player so check her out.
There is a gear tier set after exotic, known as Ascended…you only really need ascended armor and weapons for high level fractals (not sure if you know about fractals, “Fractals of the Mists”, is essentially GW2’s current end game dungeon experience after the explorables), but they are also a good thing to go for after you’re fully decked out in exotics.
Legendaries have the same stats as ascended weapons, but they also have the ability to change stat combos.
PM me in game if you need help!

I don’t think there’s all that much stated but if you were to look at things realistically I’d say both the Norn and the Charr would look at homosexual couples as impractical purely because they are less likely to produce offspring (not sure how common surrogates are in Tyria).
I say this because reproduction is such a huge thing for Charr culture – they need to have children so that they have more soldiers. I think Charr mate more for the actual procreation rather than for romance, at least not as much as Humans do (and Sylvari being the polar opposite of the Charr when it comes to pairing off).
As for the Norn, I can’t tell for sure but I’d imagine the sex of the person wouldn’t have any issue since most Norn seem to view both men and women equally in terms of capabilities and achievements, they don’t have armies that they need to bolster with more people, their population seems of little significance on an individual level since most Norn are more or less solo players (puns) but I can imagine a child being considered a very key moment in any Norns legend.
I’m sure it’s quite possible that Norn don’t really care about or mind same sex couples.
Human and Asura both seem to not mind about it.
As for story telling, I think having characters who weren’t 100% “cool” with the same-sex couples would definitely add some depth, and I’m sure Anet could do it without conforming to the “including homosexuality to stick it to the homophobes” trope.

I’m a little disheartened by the fact that if I’m unable to get into my guilds overflow after waiting 5 hours for Triple Wurm, I then have to wait another 8 hours. Sort of makes me want to just not play the game at all. Maybe make it so the boss spawns every 4 hours? or 3? Just not 8, whoever thought of 8 hour spawn timers has clearly never experienced being locked out of your guilds map.

Allow me to throw a few truth bombs out for the lot of you:
-Zerk is still best DPS
-Zerk DPS is actually scaling much better than crit dmg was in every low level explorable, we’re seeing higher numbers and faster clears in AC, CoF, SE, etc.
-The Zerk meta is NOT GREATSWORD WARRIORS ONLY, as you all so strongly believe, (infact GS war isnt even viable anymore, GS ranger is better than GS warrior imo). Warriors provide pure damage, yes, and utility, but there IS A ROLE FOR SUPPORT AND UTILITY IN THE CURRENT ZERK META. Optimum groups have reflects, protection, weakness, vulnerability, blind, and most importantly might stacks, which brings me on to my next point… I don’t do speed dungeon tours with my guild without a guardian and an ele, or some form of substitute.
-Zerk Ele is at the top of the meta at the moment and with new strength runes that doesnt look like it’s going to change, so your power/toughness/whatever Ele is not pulling bigger DPS than a zerk ele, sorry, it’s just not happening, and maybe the only reason you think that is because you haven’t played zerk
-your PTV gear might make you feel special but all it’s doing, and all it’s current use is, is for compensating your inability to read enemy movements and dodge properly. That’s why the best players run zerk, they know how to dodge, so all that’s left is doing damage…and condition just does not compare when you’re trying to knock things down fast, because it takes time to build up conditions, while raw damage just happens straight away.
-please stop calling people who only want zerk parties “elitist jerks”, we do not owe you a carry through Arah on your PTV or clerics guardian, we do not want someone who has to sacrifice damage because they aren’t able to dodge properly, if you can’t handle the fact that people will prefer playing with better players who produce better numbers, then the “dungeon scene”, or whatever you want to call it, is probably not the place for you
sorry if i came across as rude but you all really need to realize these things

After looking at the details on some of the cultural sets, specifically the light T2, I’ve been wondering if the sylvari cultural armor is actually connected to their flesh.
Any ideas/thoughts?

Prayers In Action [Pray] is a very new Oceanic based guild started by me and a few of my friends.
The goal is to get a group of Oceanic based players who are all interested in fast dungeon sprawls, high level fractal progressions, and the added benefits of Guilds, eventually, such as missions.
As well as this, I’d like to see a strong community form. Ideally all members will be from Tarnished Coast as this will help with Influence gain to speed up the Guild Perks (I am aware this is changing though, so it’s no huge issue), though if people from other servers would like to join and have a space for Oceanic players to discuss and form dungeon groups that fit their time slot, then there will be no issue with that.
In summary, Prayers in Action aims to:
-form a well established community of Oceanic based players (we will be setting up a channel on most likely mumble)
-participate in Dungeons, Fractals, and any other form of grouped instanced content that comes in the future
-host weekly guild missions
There will also be a need for Officer roles to be taken, though I’ll have to see when the time comes.
Please add me and pst me in game if you’re interested, you can contact me on Auramech or Canakun.8031.
Thanks in advance everybody!

Hey, I’m not going to go into much here, but I like many other people got one of the town clothes baseball caps when the game first came out. UNLIKE many people, however, I only got ONE of them. The other day I deleted one of my unused 80’s without remembering that I had equipped the baseball cap on that character a while ago. This is, ofcourse, an issue, for someone who intends to be a part of this game for it’s entire lifespan. Is there any way I can have the GW2 baseball cap town clothing item returned to me? I deeply regret deleting the character it was on because now I don’t have the ONE thing to show that I was there from the beginning.
Please can I get a dev response or a suggestion on where I can go to get one? Thank you.

First of all I’m super excited for this new feature coming April 15, it’s something we’ve wanted for ages and the fact we’ll be able to wear town clothes as combat outfits is super exciting.
But my question is this, and if i could please have a dev response on this it’d be great.
Will old skins assigned to the account through the meta achievement system/otherwise that we have deleted be retroactively added to our wardrobe?
This system will obviously bring a new sense of collection/progression which I’m really looking forward to (getting all the dungeon skins compiled will be one of the first things I start to do upon logging in on April 15) and so if we were to be re-given living story skins or gem store skins that would be ideal.

Thanks for sharing this, Christina. Made me tear a bit but that’s okay. I hope they delve further into Taimi’s character.

So I seem to have 8/10, with 9 of the achievements completed. Is this a known error and will completing the 10th achievement equalize it?

Really awesome update, really awesome cutscene, really awesome set of tasks to complete in a really awesome environment.
but…
is anyone else suffering from huge network lag in the LA map?
on top of that, i only ever seem to get put into nearly empty overflows which is a pain…

Well, this is the second Living Story update that has featured raid-style open world content designed as end game goals for large guilds out of like…20 Living Story updates in total which all included casual solo/5-man content, story instances and fetch quests so…I think it’s safe to say there will be more content catered to you in the future…
9/10 patches, presumably.

Rangers are strong. They can win 1v2 in most PvP settings, they can roam effectively in WvW, they are one of the fastest speed clearing classes and they have a decent health pool. they are very fun for soloing around the world, too. if you want to play ranger, play ranger. people who think it’s a bad class (or not a great class) just aren’t playing ranger properly.

I haven’t seen a thread about it yet, or have heard of any fixes, but in the eastern room of the Thaumanova fractal, the door to the collider will not open. My team and I think it’s to do with the fact that one of the technicians died before we could save him; though i used my Guardian signet to res, he’s not doing anything.
This seems to be blocking progress, and as it’s the third fractal, this is obviously a pain. Any idea what we can do to rectify this issue? Cheers in advance.

Yeah that was what I thought. No big deal! Cheers again.
