I think you should find another game. Every post you’ve made lately is about your problems with leveling and combat. The game isn’t going to change and unless you change you’re not going to have fun in this game, and I don’t think you’re going to change. So, save yourself aggravation and find a game in the style you do like.
I DO like Guild Wars, but it’s boring. I like being my character and exploring the world and learning new stuff.
But the issue is this:
There’s only so much human beings can do with computer code to make a game interesting before it becomes see-through.
The only things I enjoy are the collaberative aspects – and those are very few and far between.
Okay,
So I think i’m officially ‘tired’ of the pvE game structure now. I noticed it about 3 days ago when I logged in and just found myself running between towns feeling extremely bored with the constant missions and aimless mob attacks to get points.
I have a level 62 mesmer. I’m no longer interested in levelling her up. I also have three low-level characters, a human revenant a norn warrior and norn ranger, but I won’t even bother with those either… I was interested in exploring the different lores of the races. It seemed like fun at first. But it’s just the same endless crap. And after buying a whole set of new armour for my mesmer I realized I don’t have the interest or patience to spend that much time in the store doing it again.
Also, one thing that got to me: I wanted to test out the crafting element of the game, so I bought enough ingredients and made half a greatsword. then I returned with more ingredients to make the rest as I ran out – only to find out that the crafting station was closed because of some stupid ‘failed experiment’ which had green creatures running around. If that’s an excuse to add diversity to the game, then my face is blank. REALLY?? So I finished the sword the following day when the ridiculous mission was over and crafted my sword!
It just seems pointless. I remember feeling this way with gw1 – the only difference was that that didn’t happen until about a year later. And from that point forward I only logged in to have fun in Random Arenas.
I think the core of the pve is still the same as the original game and that’s probably why I’m completely bored of the game now, and have no feel to play it, which is a shame.
a.) It takes about 48-72 hours of /played time to hit max level. That is without any bonus experience from crafting or other methods of advancing in pve levels. We are talking first character new to the game time required.
b.) There are crafting stations in every racial city. There are way points unlocked for every character in the starter Zone next to every racial city. Lions Arch has a Gate Way hub which interconnects every major city. Not having access to ac rafting station is not an issue.
c.) You get 10 levels for month for free just for loging in.
d.) Every 10 levels you get story missions worth about 2.5-3 levels worth of experience.
e.) Open the trading post -> select armor -> select chest -> configure options to show only blue/green/yellow items which are +/- 2 levels of you current level -> buy item -> select next armor slot -> buy item ->repeat process for every armor slot. Repeat process for weapons. Done. Takes no longer than maximum 1 minute.
Maybe, just maybe you are not that big of an expert at this game as you think you are.
The other poster wondering if you have been grinding enemys for experience was valid. You complain over so basic and simple processes which are streamlined and simple in GW2 that your complaint comes more off as you not actually knowing how to proceed.
Now you not enjoying the story or other aspects of the game, but nothing of what you actually mentioned is the problem. If the game is not your deal, fine.
They need to make this game more interesting and take away the demoralising mission/mob grinding as a pve mainstay. They suck.
Just my opinion. It’s what killed the fun for me, after what is just a few weeks.
I might log in occasionally to run around in WvW.
Any thoughts?
See above. My thought is, you have not even grasped the beginning of what GW2 is and have given up. Which is fine.
But you assessment and verdict are off by miles.
Okay, so what IS guild wars?
How am I supposed to grasp it when it’s so boring to play? The mechanics are no different to GW1. There’s nothing to gain anymore.
…snip
I might log in occasionally to run around in WvW.
Any thoughts?
I’m sure the npcs in the new BL’s could use some company, it has been days on some servers since any of them have seen a player.
BL?
1. explore a map, do some hearts along the way
2. return to your main city (for your race) and do a map completion there
3. go through the portal in your main city to go to Lions Arch, do map completion there.
4. start crafting, the stations are always available AND you have ALL the portals available to go to the different main zones for each race.
5. play the main storyline, do fractals (at 80) and go WvW/PvP.In no time you’ll be in the high levels, killing the different worldbosses (for rewards and mats) and doing different events. And yes, you have to kill mobs in those.
It’s just no fun anymore.
The game is basic.
They need to make this game more interesting and take away the demoralising mission/mob grinding as a pve mainstay. They suck.
Wait. Mob grinding? You are not telling me you are trying to level your character by endlessly killing mobs over and over and over again, i hope. Because that’s the worst way to get XP in this game.
Just go around exploring the maps and do dynamic events. You will be level 80 before you notice it.
Oh, and crafting stations in main cities are always available, btw.
Hi there,
I think you didn’t understand my original post. I know how to level up. What I’m saying is I find it tedious now, and there’s no fun in it anymore. Even the option to kill monsters or whatever is just boring, there’s just no fun in Tyria. Why? BECAUSE I GET IT…once you GET the game, it’s no longer fun.
That was my point.

You said you’re a mesmer. What weapons are you using?
Sword is your usual go-to 1h weapon for PvE power-based builds. It deals the most auto-attack damage and has a really handy #2 defensive blur skill which will let you evade for a few seconds whilst dealing damage. Offhand is your choice but I tend to go with Focus for movement speed. Pistol/Sword could work as well. Try them out and see what you like.
Greatsword is a good compliment to a power build because it gives you a ranged option. Don’t use the auto-attack from close-range because it will be painfully weak. It deals more damage the further away you are, at certain distance breakpoints.
If you’re using condition damage (not really recommended while leveling and without proper trait lines) Scepter and Staff are often your weapons of choice. You can still use sword for the defensive capability (or if you have a mixture of power/condi on your build). Torch is a decent offhand but you may choose to use Focus still for the speed buff from Temporal Curtain. Mesmers can really have trouble maintaining swiftness.
While leveling you’re probably not going to have optimized stats or runes and that’s fine. Try to make a choice based not just on the level of the equip but on the stats that it gives, too. When you’re given choices for equips from rewards, try to choose the stats (or rune) that fits with your trend.
Direct damage benefits from:
-Power (increased damage)
-Precision (crit rate)
-Ferocity (crit damage)Condition damage benefits from:
-Condi damage (damage)
-Expertise (condi duration, not available until Lv80 + HoT I believe, except on very few items and its not listed as Expertise).Defensive stats are good when learning content and slowly (or quickly sometimes) become less useful. They are:
-Toughness (Armor)
-Vitality (HP)
-Healing power (Healing)And remember, if you’re killing at the same speed (roughly) as players you’re downscaled to (assuming similar optimization and ability), then its doing its job exactly how its supposed to.
Also.
The example you gave in your first post OP is as bad as it gets. The sons of Svanir are in lvl 40 zone, so it’s impossible for a lvl 13 character to be there. The Rev player you are talking about was surely lvl 80 with lvl 13 masteries.
There are Sons of Svanir as early as Wayfarer foothills. I want to say in the level 3-5 range. I’m guessing that OP was killing them in the northern portion of Wayfarer which should have 10-15ish mobs.
This is a good post. I already knew much of it, but it’s good to have a re-read.
Thanks
I like downscaling. It means that even though I now tome my characters to level 80 for the moment since otherwise, I’m wasting experience that could be put towards masteries since I can’t tome for those, that I’m not giving up the possibility of a challenge.
That I’ll still have to make sure I don’t aggro too many enemies at once. That I still have a chance of dying if I make a mistake.
There’s a difference between not wearing meta gear because you’re ignorant of game mechanics and not wearing meta gear because you don’t like the meta, but know of it and why it’s meta. And by meta I mean the meta for level 50’s in level 13 areas.
Based on your posts here, I think you fall more on the side of ignorance. And I mean the true definition of ignorance. As in you aren’t aware, not that you are stupid.
You don’t seem to realize how your gear and traits work together. I’m fairly ignorant on that regard myself, but I realize that if my gear is pointed toward conditions but my traits are pointed toward direct damage, that I’m going to find it harder than someone who has condition traits and gear or someone with direct damage traits and gear.
Then what level and rarity is your gear? Mixture of levels? At level? At the last personal story chapter level you did? What about the level 13?
Without knowing more information about at least your character, if not the level 13 character, then it’s hard to say where the blame lies. It could be with the game, but it could just as easily be with you.
And too many truly bad players claim that they are a good player for anyone to really believe a self assessment of how well you play if you claim you’re a good player, unfortunately.
So, you’re saying I need a degree in game mechanics to be able to effectively ‘kill’ a low-level monster?
Gimmeabreak
He is probably running around in clerics with Scepter. Mesmer has great burst by the way. You can kill things faster than a level rev but you really have to know what you are doing. Mesmer is one of the harder professions to start out with.
I was using story-mode reward armour and general spoils.
I have purchased a completely new armour set.
I know this game has a lot of depth, but I’m the type of guy who prefers to get to the top level before investing in those things.
I’m just stumped that I can’t easily kill a level 5 monster. (Quicker than a level 6 revenant)
It was exactly my point. Everyone is claiming that I need the right gear. What kind of perfection in build do I have to slave to create in order to be tougher than a level 13 character…lol.
Good luck.
At least use masterwork gear. Everytime you reach level listed below, upgrade your gear. Put the best dps gem in armor, or seals of assasin(50) medallions of the assasin(lvl65). You can try privateer rune at level60, or find cheap alternative. Use sigil of fire and sigil of lightning. You can keep using rare sigil of fire and sigil of lightning, since the superior sigil is too expensive.
Use food which boost your might/power/ferocity. Sharpening stone is useful too mainly for boosting your exp.
Also one thing you need to understand, those level13 could be using “exotic” gear. Not only that they could be using gear specific for leveling called Ineffable.
26 strong
32 strong
38 strong green
44 strong green
50 strong green
53 strong (weapon only)
56 strong green
59 strong (weapon only)
62 berserker
65 berserker green (expensive)
68 berserker green
71 berser (weapon only)
74 berser
I really appreciate your post. I am a new player, and I’m not ashamed of it. I won’t be levelling up my gear so often though, as I prefer to rush to level 80 then get splash out on everything.

Everyone is claiming that I need the right gear. What kind of perfection in build do I have to slave to create in order to be tougher than a level 13 character…lol.
In GW2 your choice of gear absolutely does matter. If you’re using weapons that primarily apply damaging conditions, but do not have + Condition Damage gear, your damage will stink — down-scaled or not. In like wise, if you are using +Condition Damage gear and using weapons that do all or mostly direct damage, your damage will stink – down-scaled or not.
People are making these points because their experience was/is not the same as yours. Therefore, you are doing something differently than they did. There might be some value in looking at your build. And no, it does not have to be perfect, but it’s possible that it could be better — which could provide a more enjoyable experience.
As to down-scaling, itself, I don’t always see eye to eye with the Pope, but this encyclical is spot on.
Downscaling exists, specifically, because the cooperative nature of GW2s event systems would collapse without it.
Getting kill credit in GW2 requires you be able to actually hit enemies. Handing people event credit for killing L12 mobs with L80 stats not only creates a massive risk/reward imbalance, but makes it stupidly easy to troll lowbies by denything them kills because GW2 has no mob tagging feature.
Downscaling exists because of the pvE paradigm that other players should be viewed as help rather than hindrance no matter where you are in GW2. if you could engage L11 mobs with L53 stats, and the game actively encouraged you through map completion systems to go to L11 zones, you would be actively ruining the game for everyone around you by one shotting everything in sight, preventing those lower level characters from gaining xp, event credit, heart credit, and loot.
If it didn’t, then it would be stupidly easy to just powerlevel everyone around you with a L80, just blowing stuff up and handing out loot to every lowbie in range without requiring them to do anything at all.
Just because you want to blow up low level camps for low level loot doesn’t mean it wouldn’t actively break the rest of GW2’s cooperative PvE game design. GW2 is not GW1. Gw2 is an actual persistant MMO, where you have an effect on the people around you whether you chose to be in their group or not. Different rules apply, and must apply, to ensure the game is fun for everyone involved.
You are following the wrong religion
;)

It’s GREAT, really that you support and are all for the current build of the game. OTHERS have other opnions!
Enjoy playing!
The only thing wrong is when players bring their preconceived notions of what they think SHOULD happen based on their experiences in other tired, non-innovative MMO’s.
Like your tired opinion, the only thing that bothers me and relates DIRECTLY to my post is when I am being forced, without question, to be spoon-fed by a new game build which I believe is costing the user his fun-experience.
Just because you believe one thing, doesn’t mean that others can’t have their opinions. That’s what this forum is for.
I prefer a different type of game: one that is more open-ended, and not completely scaled out for safety and across-the-board balance.
Thanks for your comment.
Indeed, something is seriously wrong.
I’m afraid it’s user error.
A level 50’ish characater has much more tools at their disposal then a level 13. Use level appropriate gear and consumables. And check out what traits you can use, as well as the various weapons. Or you can complain about it, but that doesn’t do damage.
It isn’t user error. I’m not an idiot.
Mesmers have always had a tougher time killing things quickly at lower levels. A poorly-played warrior, for example, can ROFL-stomp various foes in lower areas that would cost time to a mesmer, even at higher levels.
That said, what are you running that you are having trouble newbie zones with an L5x mesmer? There are all sorts of things that can be adjusted to increase damage output.
It was exactly my point. Everyone is claiming that I need the right gear. What kind of perfection in build do I have to slave to create in order to be tougher than a level 13 character…lol.
Good luck.
What gear are you wearing? He might have been wearing full beserker greens. Also if he is an alt he will have experience with game mechanics and maybe know perfect rotations already for revenant through research.
Damage also greatly depends on what weapon you are using. As far as I know, the only decent power weapon for mesmer is mainhand sword, so using anything else will give you slower kills.
Remember down scaling is always in effect when you visit a map lower than your own level, so your stats will be scaled down to a lvl 11 mesmers. They also made this harsher than in the past so even if you are lvl 80, you will still feel weak(ish) on a low level map.
Downscaling is the most stupid idea on this planet. How much more balancing does this game need?!
I should be able to kill that monster in 2 seconds.
Seriously, when I’m done with this game I’m giving it to my cousins.
Thanks for your reply.
A lv13 revenant is doing more damage to a lv11 monster than a lv54 mesmer.
What the hell is wrong???
So, I was helping this guy fight the sons of Svanir in the ice region and noticed quickly that he was causing much more damage per second than my stupid mesmer skills. He was finishing each enemy in just a few seconds, whereas for me it was considerably longer. I’m a lv54 mesmer now, and I’m really not impressed by what seems to be like a fatal flaw/imbalance in the damage system.
Maybe I’m wrong? Maybe it will improve? But this never happened in gw1.
You spend hours and hours levelling up your character and doing missions all over the map, and you can’t even kill a lv11 enemy quickly? So what’s the point?
PLEASE improve the game!
Also, they’ve ruined the mesmer class. A mesmer used to be able to do really cool tricks in gw1 and REALLY disable the enemy by doing cool things with energy and illusion magic. Now it’s just basic damage, daze, confusion and blind…. and those pesky illusions – it all looks fantastic, but damage-wise it’s mediocre.
Just sayin….
GW2 is great, but still…
Btw if anyone wants to team up – add me: Vakadia Dreeva ^^
An integral part of their business plan? Who told you this rubbish? Go and do your research.
It makes a once good game appear cheap and desperate.
I’m not sure if GW2 can even survive without the cashshop.
But even if it can, the profit is so small, Anet will either have to cutdown employee or it is quite likely NCSoft will close Anet, or Anet will have to spam us with 20$ small size DLC.
If GW1 can survive so can GW2. They should just push up the price of the original one-time-purchase game.
There is nothing wrong with the gem store itself, it’s actually welcoming. But it is wrong that all cool stuff ends up in the gem store and that’s pretty much the only way to get those things. For example, expansion only brought us few new armor sets (two or three) and exactly 0 alternative glider skins to work for. If you want new skins, you better open your wallet and throw it into gem store. That’s why many people play gw2 like me (on and off)…
But since you’re new player you still have plenty of stuff to work towards if you like.
Also, what you’re saying about story is not true, like others said already. I have never finished personal story myself and I have 6 lvl 80 characters. Maybe you’re getting confused, because you need to be certain level in order to continue story.I agree with you that leveling is not that much fun, but that’s of course personal opinion and many will disagree and want to kill me now. It depends how much you like world, story and npcs. If you like those a lot you will have no problem exploring and doing story and events.
So I disagree with guy who said leveling is the most fun part and endgame is boring.
I can’t get myself to level characters , because it’s so painfully boring, I just want to get to 80. When you’re 80 you have all the tools available/skills/traits, you can try all the builds you want and learn all about your profession and how to master it. That’s fun. You won’t be doing that when you level up, because you won’t bother with builds, because it’s useless. You will be changing gear often and so it’s no reason to spend a lot of money to gear your character as best as possible. There is also no reason to bother with build if you don’t have all traits and skills available.
Hi,
U make a good post. Am I wrong in stating that you can’t level up quickly just by ‘killing things’ ?
Maybe you should look at that before you say too much about the Guild Wars 2 cosmetic selling store.
The Guild Wars 2 gem store is far from just a “cosmetic” selling store.
Bank tabs. Bag slots. Time saving items. Upgrades. Quests items. Extractors. Unique and valuable items hidden behind gambling mechanics.
I’m not against in-game gambling mechanics, just not when they’re asking for real-world money to speedily purchase in game items so you have an advantage over other players. It’s cheap and unnecessary and why Star Trek Online failed.
OMG when I took a look at the currency conversion rate…please!
…You might want to go the the black lion windows tab 2… You will realize that anything you can buy with real money, you can buy with in game gold… That goes for cosmetics as well as character slots and bank tabs… would you really want to take away the extra character slots and bank tabs? Really?… And desperate? if they were desperate they wouldn’t make all that available for in game gold…
It ISN’T available in GOLD
DDD
It’s about as available as the in-game coins are in iphone games – and how long would that take to save up enough to buy your item? Eighteen months?
Gimme a break
but.. but.. I like the gemstore and the shinies it offers!!
Gimme Shinies (>-)>
^^
Have you ever played Fairy Farm?
I don’t know where you got the idea that the story mode is even remotely required to level up, because it’s not. I haven’t finished any of the stories on any of my level 80s. I only recently got to level 40 after nearly 3 years of playing . When you make statements like that, it shows you don’t know much about this game.
The fact that you’ve only just reached lv 40 after having played for fifteen years shows what a benefit it would be to your progress if you would just DO THE MISSIONS.
:)
How old are you OP?
I mean, it doesnt take a genius to understand that every kind of mmo has some sort of cashshop. And the gem store is mostly cosmetic items as many people already stated. You should try out blade and soul though. The linear grindy quests kill/pick stuff makes you unable to enjoy the great potential of graphics and enviroment it has and the pvp is also great, so that would be the best bet for ya
I have no idea what you’re talking about but your comment is appreciated.
Guild Wars 1 had a ingame store where they sold access to skills and heroes to play with (mercenaries).
Maybe you should look at that before you say too much about the Guild Wars 2 cosmetic selling store.
By the way, not everyone likes PvP. Many bought it solely for PvE.
This has got nothing to do with buying heroes – clearly there are none in gw2.
My point is that gw2 could have been better and players could have been a lot happier if we weren’t forced to play through the story modes to progress and level up – and yes this is required, because you wouldn’t level up unless you did it. There’s nothing wrong with the story mode but it should have nothing to do with levelling up and gaining rewards. This should be done through a skills training system, which is completely separate from the story mode and is vital for playing any computer game. PvP can be an extention of the skills training system, just like PvE – you have to train your skills in order to play or do well in either. But you shouldn’t be ‘forced’ to play PvP or PvE in order to progress through the game.
The grind through the huuuuge map is bad enough, but to add gems??? What I loved about the old gw is that it didn’t involve any of that real currency crap, and everything was of the world.
Quit this game right now. As in NOW. If you think the leveing process is a grind (which most people find to be the most enjoyable part of pve) you are not going to like endgame.
-Take away mandatory mission grinding through map and replace it with story adventures that do not grant xp or level ups – there should be some other rewards, or maybe joint team adventures. Players should also be able to create their own missions or stories.
No. You are asking for a way more open sandbox game than GW2 ever aimed to be. Question is, why should arenanet change the game now after 3 years when it has an established playerbase?
Also, none of the story mission are mandatory. You can get to every point of the map without playing the story.
-PVP should be compulsory for skills training, and there should be 1 v 1 combat as freeplay in all parts of the map. Levelling up should be a part of pvp skills training, not story-missions.
Leveling for pve characters via spvp is accomplished through the insane amount of Tomes of Knowledge pvp players get.
Open world pvp is done in the WvW areas of the game. Pve areas are for pve only. Again, you are looking for a sandbox pvp game, which GW2 is not.
-Take away the GEM system, it isn’t necessary. GW1 currency was fine. I can remember saving money for weeks and weeks to buy a guild hall, it felt so amazing, and it was. Now I can just buy it with my credit card??!!
The gem system and the way it’s been added is arenanets way of generating revenue and an intergral part of their business plan for GW2. It’s mostly cosmetic in nature so as to not make the game pay-to-win.
Unless you propose a better or alternative way of them monetzing GW2, it’s here to stay.
An integral part of their business plan? Who told you this rubbish? Go and do your research.
It makes a once good game appear cheap and desperate.
I got this game a few weeks ago after spending years on gw1 on and off.
Ok so I’m still learning new things about this game every day. Today I realized it has a gem system. WTF r they thinking???
The grind through the huuuuge map is bad enough, but to add gems??? What I loved about the old gw is that it didn’t involve any of that real currency crap, and everything was of the world.
Now it’s starting to feel like an iphone game.
My advice for next time:
-Take away mandatory mission grinding through map and replace it with story adventures that do not grant xp or level ups – there should be some other rewards, or maybe joint team adventures. Players should also be able to create their own missions or stories.
-PVP should be compulsory for skills training, and there should be 1 v 1 combat as freeplay in all parts of the map. Levelling up should be a part of pvp skills training, not story-missions.

Just my thoughts.
More bag slots don’t help. All it does is reduce the amount of times you go to a npc to sell junk. Actually going to the npc is literally a click of a WP. More bags = more time standing there salvaging and selling junk. That’s the time consuming part.
Honestly I’m tired of it. I started throwing out those green bags with 3 pieces of crappy gear in them plus a small chance for a rare. I just threw out 40 of those bags the other day. It’s also annoying to get a bag inside a bag inside a bag. I mean seriously that is rediculious.
Instead of these exotic bags that have bags inside of bags, I would much prefer those exotic bags have like a 5-10% increase in dropping something good. This wouldn’t fix everything but it would help. What do you guys think?
“….A BAG INSIDE A BAG INSIDE A BAG…”
lol, that bit had me laughing…
You know I just spent about 45 minutes clearing my bags on the trade screen. OMG this is driving me insane. Is there noway to stop it?
Also, is it possible to get rid of some bag slots, or no? I guess if I do that I’ll have to empty them more often.
In Diablo III at least you have a Town Portal and a salvage all.
Here you hae to go clickity-click with everything.
“Hey, maybe I’ll click the bag icon with the salvage pointer and try to salvage everything in the bag…”
Nope! Click all the things!
Lol, well said! Tell me about it…

However I’m getting fedup with the constant physical rewards that I have to accept and keep filling up my bag. The constant rewarding and accepting loot or whatever has become burdensome, and I keep having to sell the items once my bags are completely full.
Is there a way to ‘not accept’ some rewards or loot…. I don’t like being forced to have to engage in the trade or buy and sell system.
Thanks.. Will try some of those out…
Hi,
I’m new to the game. I own a level 25 mesmer and i’m wondering is there a skill which enables me to run faster? I’ve noticed some players can run quicker than me…
Thanks
You were always allowed full henchmen teams, except in the few elite areas/dungeons where they weren’t available. Heroes were added later, which you could only have a few of and then was later changed to full parties.
True, thanks for correction.
I understand what an MMO is and what co-op play means and you just reiterated what my view of GW2 gameplay is…it just proves my point… it’s an independent play game, so I may as well be playing a single-player offline game.
What’s the point in putting all that effort into creating an online MMO when the co-op content is minimal?
At level 24 now and I’m getting quite tired of doing solo missions…. it’s just getting very boring playing alone… I just don’t see why I’m playing in this game and not interacting with other players.
It’s weird…..
I know GW1 may be considered ‘old-style’ and basic, but it was fun.
Hi,
I’ve been playing GW2 for about a month now. I finally decided to purchase it after a long time.
I’ve been playing GW1 on and off since around 2005 so I consider myself an old fan, and I never really got into the other big MMOs.
One thing I noticed about this game is how much I ENJOY and look forward to playing it. It’s so RICH and the story is just endless…
However recently, since learning the basics of controls and gameplay, I have begun to literally ‘crave’ teaming up with other players to do missions: this is something that was really necessary to play GW1 – and I remember you were allowed a certain number of npc henchman and then you had to find other players to help you out.
This co-op play made GW1 great, and is the central purpose of playing an MMO in my opinion.
I really want to start teaming up with other players, but I am not finding GW2 really dependent on co-operative play, and teamplay so far is minimal at best. I see lots of players running around in the same instance, but nobody really interacts with you, and it’s all independent journeys.
This feels like such a shame, because I really want to do ‘missions’ with a group of players and travel through parts of the map together. It was a great way of making friends in GW1 – and I made a lot of friends in the beginning I remember.
I just don’t get the point of having instances with all these independent stories with players running around past each other….it’s a bit aimless…
Why don’t I just play a single-player game…it’s what I’ve been doing right?
My character is level 19 now. Does teamplay and co-op play get better?
I hope so.
*Ok, so yesterday a group of players randomly got together to defeat a spider queen which was impossible to do solo. On one occasion I died and was revived by a player, which brought back good old co-op gameplay memories. But the thing is this wasn’t a planned group, or setup. It was all random – whoever was in the area at the time joined in the match. It just isn’t the same. Maybe I’m missing GW1 too much? Maybe I need to get used to the new GW2 and style?
I don’t know if I can… It’s an online MMO.
