Why not the bunny ears ???!!

Why?

So that the people that missed them, or are waiting for some other old item to reappear, will become obsessed with checking the gem store every day, making it a bit easier to pull them into buying something else while they’re there.

Even then, wouldn’t it be better to tell people straight up “Yeah, we will bring them back soon™, so keep your eyes on the store!” ?

I myself don’t really care if they bring the bunny ears back or not but it seems weird they wouldn’t when there are obviously tons of people ready to open their wallets to get them. It isn’t even any work to really toss them on the gem store for a week or two.

It is like people outside a McDonalds screaming for McNuggets and being denied even though they are sitting right there under the heat lamp.

Yup, there is really no valid reason other than Anet saying “No thanks, we don’t want your money”.
Any arguments people bring up against the bunny ears don’t really hold up.
Which is why I feel it’s justified to keep this thread bumped until Anet takes notice.

I was pleasantly surprised that the sylvari twintails actually have physics.
Those would have looked really terrible without though…

Yeah, the frustrating thing about this is, that it feels like the person(s) in charge of the gemstore just don’t realize that this would be a very profitable option for a sale.
There couldn’t really be any other reason.
I know Gaile said she could ask, but she didn’t say that she did ( sorry, if I am a bit pessimistic here ).

Makes me wonder how much the gemstore team is in touch with the playerbase or even the rest of Anet…
It’s not just the bunny ears : Feedback about the gemstore releases has been increasingly negative lately and it’s not just the usual complainers – people feel that there is a decline in quality.

I just wonder, if these things matter to them or if it’s just a “as long you bring in enough money, do what you want” kind of deal from Anet’s side.

I’d really like to know why….

I’m pretty close to disliking them as well. It’s the small thing’s that count and they never seem to provide them.

Unfortunately I have to agree, this little stuff is just so aggravating, how hard is it to turn on the option for gems store items. the items already made, and working all they have to do is turn it on and it would be profit, but they don’t. Same goes for aviator glasses, and SAB.

There really can’t be any other good reason than the gemshop-team being ignorant about the demand …

A 24h sale would be enough really …
That way you won’t see bunny ears everywhere ( at least not more than those friggin wings… )

Don’t you guys think that the upcoming stability changes might give us a new niche ?
We don’t know how big of an impact on the current meta it will have, but I imagine something like Chaos Storm on point could become more meaningful for example …

And then HoT with its specializations and the new class will most likely change up the entire meta anyway …
We might move from a roamer role to something more of a teamfight control ( with Slow) and “making the enemy vulnerable” role .
Right now there is no real way to predict what will happen. We will have to wait and see.

I really hope Anet won’t listen to shortsighted feedback like that …

Here’s how that would turn out :

Take ANY flight of stairs ingame .
Actually, take the one in LA that leads from the trading post down to the mystic forge. You know that one, right?
Now, if it worked like the people in this thread wanted, no one with a glider would ever walk down these stairs again!
You would see people gliding down to the forge constantly! Picture it. Looks stupid, right?!

Anyway : Why would that be so bad?

Because it would completely devalue the meaning of gliding!
Yeah, the free fall restriction is a restriction … but it also means that you will go around Tyria looking for places where gliding makes sense!
Instead of gliding down every slope and enjoying your “FREEDUM OF GLIDING EVERYWERE lulz”.
It also feels more adventurous with the free fall … you know, like in the trailer, where they are chased and jump down the cliff and you think they are falling, but they GLIDE!

So please Anet: Stick to your vision and let gliding be a meaningful experience !

I understand putting things IN the Gem Store, I don’t understand taking things OUT of the Gem Store.

Back when they were in the store , they probably didnt sell that great , because you could only use them as town clothing and you barely had any options back then .
To most people it wasnt worth buying something they could only wear with their normal clothes , outside of combat and only if they used the awkward toggle …

I cant think of any reason speaking against bringing them back today , so I’ll just hope Anet will remember them the next time there will be a special sale ( christmas ? ) .

Yeah , if you want to be super-serious about pointholding , you should probably just modify the meta SD build for tankiness …
The thiefs best defense will always be not getting hit in the first place (that includes condis) , so if you want to be stealthless that means maximum evade spam …

To be totally honest , I cant imagine a thief build that could hold a point against any engineer throwing his crates – you can only evade so much …
And if you are not viable in that sense , you might as well just build for fun and survivability I would say .

I did go into a similar direction a while ago , when I really wanted to use venoms , saw the trait that heals you when you use them and decided to build upon that . Just for hotjoin lols ofcourse …

The idea is to trigger some small heals all the time . I cant say how it compares to the crithealing thing , but I can tell you that pistolwhip and unload would heal you up a decent amount really quick .

The immobilize venom was also really useful , so if anything , I would recommend you giving that a try .

How about having the bank be unlocked by reward tracks ?
PvP players have been wanting more tracks and you could make it repeatable for more tabs or something …
Yeah , it would be relatively easy to unlock this for PvEers , but at least they would have to spent some time in PvP first . And although PvPers would moan about the rise of noobs in PvP , this could end up bringing more people into the gamemode after all …

Happened to me and a friend yesterday . Didn’t have that problem the first time I was there weeks ago .

I would guess the bug has to do with the game not recognizing that all bandits are killed and therefore not removing the barrier .

That key is such a good choice for a hotkey and having it taken away really messed up my whole keybind-setup .

Yeah this really bothers me , since I have always used this key as my “push to talk”-key .
A guildie said this change had something to do with the Mac client … which I don’t really understand since I know nothing about Macs …

Anyway , if this is an intended change and not just a bug , I’d really like to see an option to disable the weapon swap on this key .
