Hot joins are meant to be the place where you can jump in to test a build, warm up, play for fun and not worry about win/loss. It’s there for when you don’t have the time to sit down and wait for a queue or just want something laid back. Just play until you’re bored. If it makes you rage just stop playing. Losing a hot join isn’t the end of the world despite popular opinion.
Bumping for more votes
(save me from ranger?)
Add me under multiclass NA while you’re at it. I’ll be up and running in a wk or so (moving apartments currently). Currently the community is voting me to play ranger when I start back up…this will be interesting…
Zerker guard

Main reason I say no way is if they did that the qq over bunker guards would reach epic proportions.
That and dps guard would wreck even harder than it does (in the right hands).
There’s still time for me to be saved from ranger (please save me?).
I figure most people are voting for ranger because 1) there’s a dearth of people streaming high level ranger gameplay, or 2) they want you to be miserable. To help you avoid the latter, I voted for thief—from two different IPs.
Fine, here come my 5 IP’s all for ranger
.
And being a guy with a ranger, I can say ranger is disadvantaged enough to provide a skillful player with the right platform to do something special on stream.
Give me a few days to get the feel for a solid build and I’ll see if those “special somethings” are possible haha.
5 votes?!? Guess I’ll start figuring out what race/appearance to make this impending ranger…

Yea I’ve played ranger the least since it’s always been spirits or don’t play it and I never enjoyed that way to play. It’ll b rough for the first few days if ranger is what wins but I’m willing to make it work – especially since everyone is hyping ranger changes that are coming. If they do get great changes I’ll be ahead of the curve when it happens.
Haha. Sorry my man, had to vote on ranger for you. I don’t watch streams, but I’d watch that nightmare. I’ll hit you up next time I’m back on lol.
Well lucky for me I have a couple weeks to mentally prepare for this impending ranger creation… Gotta finish up my clinical and head back to school to move apartments/get the internet hooked up and the stream will be up and running.
There’s still time for me to be saved from ranger (please save me?).
Play all of them, and you are required to use “default” builds for each profession.
Oh god… I’d rather play blindfolded instead of the default builds that’s how terrible it is. Probably more fun that way too
What you dont want to be a greatsword warrior with soldiers ammy?
Regrettably I must decline…haha

Well… I guess I could but I’ve done that for so long I was looking for a change of scenery/didn’t think ppl would find it entertaining. I’ll consider that I suppose if others show an interest and leave some comments asking for it.
So I’ll be returning to streaming in a bit as my summer wraps up and was wondering what class the community would be interested in seeing streamed at a high level of play. I’m kind of tired of elementalist and guardian, which are my main professions, so I’m looking to take on a third that the you will choose for me based on what has the most votes. I’ll also be leveling this character to 80 through pvp as I’m curious how long it will take me.
The choices will be thief, ranger, necro, mesmer, and engineer as warrior I can play already and find it kind of bland. The link to the strawpoll can be found here: http://strawpoll.me/2207111
Leave a comment below if there’s a certain build in particular you want me to play with the class you voted for. I’ll make a list of all the builds and if that class is chosen, I’ll spend some time playing each one that was suggested. I’ll leave the vote open for a week or so depending on when responses stop trickling in and will update with the winning class.
Seeing as it’s hot joins it really isn’t THAT big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. Just play on or change lobbies if you can’t handle it.
Warrior if you want easy dps spec, Guardian dps if you want a challenge.
Warriors have the better ranged options as well as innate tankiness. Guardians are superior IMO if you play them right but it requires proper aegis/blind/block usage which takes time to get down and will be more frustrating then learning to pop a stance and let healing signet passive carry you while you go about dps’ing.
I ask from you to think for a second about how it feels for us to see our names touted as skillful “All-Star” players beside the name of a famous shoutcaster, Blu. How does that make our efforts and time invested in this game seem? Pretty insignificant to be honest. So you want us to sit back and be gracious about getting slapped in the face by this mockery of an “All-Star” roster? Sure, some of the comments were written harshly by some, but what you are asking is for us to bite our tongues and smile while Blu is nominated as a member of our level and just roll with it. I find that asinine.
We are not just a vicious online community trying to make Blu feel bad for fun. We are simply a community that has been neglected, beaten, and pushed to the back burner one time too many. This tournament was seen as a recognition for the top end players and it has turned into a farce.
Hopefully you find my response “professional” as apparently you feel that we all lack that virtue.
This isn’t about YOU. This is about a few people who can’t put their own feelings aside for the sake of someone who deserves all the love from this community. And yes, I’m asking you to bite your tongue, because doing so is what is best for GW2 PvP. If you don’t see that, I’m sorry, but you seriously have to choose your battles more wisely.
All you are doing right now is putting someone in the limelight that has done nothing but good for this community, while holding GW2 PvP to some arbitrary industry standard. Guess what? Your argument here is not going to fix the GW2 PvP scene. If you disagree with Blu being on the All-Star roster, that is fine, but there is no reason to publicly call him out. You are not handling this in a way that is conducive to the growth of GW2 PvP. End of story.
Also, this has nothing to do with my connection to ArenaNet, and everything to do with my sense of compassion toward other human beings.
Sorry but I feel this is absolutely a great battle to choose to hold Anet accountable to what they say/do.
So where do we voice our opinions and our dissatisfaction over what Anet has done if not the game forums? This is the best way for exposure and for others to voice themselves as well. The issue is Anet said one thing and has done another and now you (and others) are calling us monsters for saying Blu doesn’t fill the requirements to represent NA as an all star player. It’s not a personal attack against Blu, he just happens to be the one Anet threw to the curb because they are too stingy to fly him out to shoutcast which is something he absolutely deserves.
We are mad at Anet for listing Blu on the roster and we are saying why he doesn’t belong but doing so makes lack compassion for others apparently. His name comes up because we are trying to get Anet to see their wrongdoing and hoping they will admit it and do what they should have from the start — fly Blu to Germany and make a roster of 5 top players for NA.
#necitortryingtobesmart
The salt is real.
Not really salty, since I have no desire to go after seeing the roster of players and who are likely the ones going.
Ok, I’m going to step out of the shadows to respond to this.
Blu has contributed more to this community than anyone else in it. He is an all-star, and deserves to go to Germany and play alongside the people he has been promoting for the past year and a half.
It’s sad seeing some of the top players making disparaging remarks toward him. If you ever want to be taken seriously as a professional gamer, you should consider changing your attitude and acting like an actual professional. That includes being able to graciously accept when a decision is made.
Blu, you do not need defend yourself here. I want you to look at every all-star list for any sport ever played, and tell me that everyone on that list is at equal skill level (guess what, they are not). Now, consider that there are people in the world that need to make others feel bad, or people in the world that don’t know when they make others feel bad. This is the time we live in, and this is how online gaming communities work. They are a microcosm for all the highs and lows in life.
I have been in your shoes before. It’s hard being a public figure. It makes you an easy target. Just know that you are not alone, and know that this is a small blip in the great things you have done for GW2; people will move on.
I hope you will not become too discouraged by this, because you are still loved by many.
To me this was quite an illogical response you typed up Allie. You are trying to compare apples to oranges and defend a company you likely hold near and dear to you. He deserves to go for shoutcasting, not as a competitor and nobody is denying that notion.
Your “all-star list for any sport” comment is completely laughable. Of course everyone is not going to perform the same, it’s called being human. The problem in the conclusion you are drawing is that an all-star list from any sport is simply what it says, a list of all star players in that sport. Is Blu a true, top notch, astounding player? I personally am not sold on that notion, nor are others. There is quite a disparaging separation between his skill and the others on the all-star list to vote for. Such a disparity is not seen in “any sport ever played” when they are having a TRUE all-star roster. Do you ever see a backup quarterback voted to the pro-bowl in the NFL? I’ve never seen it. But even if that did happen, at least he was already one of the elite players by being in the NFL. Now extrapolate that to the current situation, is Blu known as an amazing player? No, he’s known for his shoutcasting. Apples to oranges. If this was called a “Favorite Players Tournament” then sure, put Blu up there hands down and the arguing goes away. But when you read “All-Stars tournament” it is expected that these participants will be the best in the game and put on a great show of skillful play for the viewers.
The definition of all-star seems to be inconsistent among the general understanding of what it stands for and how it is being applied here. Blu is an all-star pvp shoutcaster – absolutely. His all-star pvp play is questionable. Therefore, why is it illogical for people to be upset about his name being on the list for an “All-Star Tournament” when he doesn’t fit the definition?
Furthermore, you mention “disparaging remarks” made from the top players and how we can be taken professionally when we voice our disdain. I ask from you to think for a second about how it feels for us to see our names touted as skillful “All-Star” players beside the name of a famous shoutcaster, Blu. Sad to say but I feel like this is a case of you being outplayed. A great ele will frustrate you if you don’t know how to fight one properly. On the other side, an avg ele will die pretty easily since they won’t have the proper cooldown management. Yes you heard me, eles have to manage things to be great despite people saying they can faceroll and be OP. They can and will die when you attack them and know what to interrupt, when to fear, when to condi load, etc. It’s all timing. Just practice more and less qq.
if you dont know who duke henry is then you clearly dont play pvp that much and therefore have very little insight into what it entails. 1. your not even top 1000 and you think you can basically say to one of the best necros in pvp ‘’ learn to play’’ your the reason this game doesnt develop properly cause you assume its qq when he genuinly cares about the state of pvp, you never play team que, and if you do you play against the bottom of the barrel therefore meaing you dont see any of the top players he faces on a daily basis, you need to learn to play cause your not even close to his level.
Member with Disney Channel/Team Lonely, played with various other top NA players winning many weeklies and other tournaments, ToL (3rd place finish), won a 2v2 the week before I left for my break, nominated for All-Stars tourny, and many other accomplishments before I left to do my 8 week full time clinical for grad school. Sorry I have a life and haven’t been on recently to impress you with my ranking.
Oh, and here’s a fun link for you since you like leaderboard ranks: http://www.gw2score.com/PvP/player/Chaotic9742
Might want to at least research/look things up before you try to beat somebody down.
A+ for your effort though

When I play necro I go for the 0/6/4/0/4 setup with carrion amulet and travelers runes so I can move between nodes and position better. You don’t need travelers though, just a personal preference. You can slap on nightmare and it’ll work just fine. I personally think carrion is better for team fight since it offers a bit more sustain over rabid in case you’re caught out of position. Playing with that I’ve gotten used to it and just leave it on all the time so I can’t vouch if rabid is actually better for 1v1. I don’t think I’ve used rabid since the most recent major patch tbh.

If you are autobalanced, you auto-win
only if you volunteer
You lose the reward only if you hit “no I don’t want to volunteer.” If you ignore it or click balance me then you get full reward. Apologies for not being specific enough, thought this was well known enough by now.
If you are autobalanced, you auto-win
If you want to be on a tpvp team, specializing in something is a good choice. Guardian and ele currently will give you the most flexibility of finding a team. Thieves work well too, but you need to be able to edge out all the other thieves (which there seem to be tons) fighting for a roster spot.
If you are looking to just do hotjoins/soloQ, then you can continue to play what you’re in the mood for. If you want to rise in the leaderboard for soloQ, then I’d say stick with something you find fun. Thief/ele/guard can all carry in soloQ so pick whichever you enjoy most.
Or as it has been said, the absolute best people you may be thinking about couldn’t go during the time it happens/didn’t want to go. I do agree with the first part though, this should not be called an “all-stars” tournament.
From the googles:
allstars
Web definitions
All-star is a term designating an individual as having a high level of performance in their field. Originating in sports, it has since drifted into vernacular and been borrowed heavily by the entertainment industry. It can also be used for a group of individuals, who are popular in certain areas.Allstars hasnt meant the best of the best for any sport in a long time bud.
Like I said before, if it truly was an olden days allstars then specific teams would be selected by merit.
So using your wonderful definition we actually further prove my/others point rather than you trying to make us look like we don’t understand english. Is Blu an “individual having a high level of performance in the field of competitive tpvp play?” Gonna have to say no on that. Is he an “individual having a high level of performance in the field of shoutcasting?” Absolutely, hands down.
English is fun. By defining “field” we can correctly apply your definition for this scenario. Comparing shoutcasting pvp to playing pvp is like apples to oranges, so “field” can not remain broad, as you seem to define it, and hold any truth.
You guys all take this too seriously. Should Blu go or not go? It doesn’t matter. The mistake ANET made was in calling this “all-stars”. It should have been “Top end players that ANET likes”. That would explain why some of the absolute best people aren’t even on this list.
Or as it has been said, the absolute best people you may be thinking about couldn’t go during the time it happens/didn’t want to go. I do agree with the first part though, this should not be called an “all-stars” tournament.
It’s funny how people still are arguing against the naysayers calling anyone who says something negative about is jealous, stupid, a kitten, etc.
This is a real issue because if you go the news page, read the first paragraph and you see “This exhibition match will pit top players from North America, Europe, and China against each other in the first truly global Guild Wars 2 event.”
Now read that. Pause and think. “Top players.” Is Blu a known top player? If yes, advance without problem. If no, why put him on the list? Now, realistically, I think the latter response of No is what most would answer if you look at this without bias. But wait, maybe Anet wants him to come since all the hard work he’s put in to make pvp better but they won’t fly him out in addition to the players for the matches. The solution? Throw him in the voting pool. Now that’s why people are upset. He’s getting votes for what he does to help the community (which nobody has a problem with, it’s amazing what he does for all of us) rather than being a “top player” as stated in the description of who is invited to this event. Can you understand the frustration? Either Anet needs to word things better or they need to do what they say in order to prevent these arguments from cropping up. We all know Blu deserves to go, but well…read the post and tell me you don’t understand why this doesn’t seem quite right…
I don’t think you realize what I’m trying to say… I know its a popularity contest and it is what it is. But Blu is popular from his casting of pvp events, not his play. That’s what I’m getting at. Hence, he should be invited by anet to do just that.
Not taking advantage of posting self promotion for players is on them, they had the chance to do it – I completely agree and I’m not arguing. But honestly, who is going to click on a stream of a player they haven’t heard of before when you see Blu or Oeggs or somebody else who already has a couple hundred viewers tuned in. Odds are you click on them to watch rather than the guy you aren’t familiar with and has <20 viewers. Make sense? You basically have to pray you get their attention somehow and they tune in to you rather than the other guy who’s established as a streamer.
(edited by Chaotic.9742)
The last frustration is to everyone saying they don’t know the players in the pool. I’m pretty sure if you watched a few of the ESL weeklies or checked out the teams that registered, you would see the players at one point or another.
I watch a fair bit of the tournaments, I try to tune in to most of them, although I will often watch while doing something else. I don’t really pay attention to the names, unless I have some specific reason to (generally if I really love the comp or if they play Necromancer), because it isn’t all that important to me. So the people I know of in each region are because I know of them due to their out-of-game contributions, streams, or relation to players I know. Sure I’ve probably seen all these players multiple times, it doesn’t mean I remember or recognize them or their play, however.
Unfortunately, anything involving votes is a popularity contest, and certain individuals simply have put themselves out there more than others. There was a few weeks notice (at least 2 IIRC), so there was plenty of time for those players to stream and get their name out there a bit.
Actually, it’s only one week “officially” to get your name out there, but I get where you’re coming from. You could post things like check this vid/my stream before the names were out, but if you mentioned being a candidate for the tournament, anet would remove you from the list. I’m mainly frustrated that Blu is king of popularity/advertisement through his streaming tournaments and not as a player, but he’s getting all the votes to represent as an “all star” player from NA. That’s where the issue lies. Again, he deserves to go, but as a player? Not sold on that…
You should be eating thieves up if you’re med guard. As for ele…that matchup is in their favor. As for the running, run GS with either scepter/sword and use the gap closers wisely and immob if you choose scepter to keep them in the kill range. Practice makes perfect, you’ll get there.
After reading these posts it makes me a bit frustrated for a few reasons. Blu is getting votes just for his help to the community (which he’s done A LOT, don’t think I’m saying he doesn’t deserve to go to Germany), but as an “all-star” player in the tournament – I just don’t know… Blu, I’m glad you are taking the time to work on your game as I can imagine it’s hard to shoutcast all the time then practice on top of it so I hope you represent NA well assuming you get a spot – which you probably will based on comments I’ve seen.
Now the frustration part – it’s an “all-star” tournament invite. Blu has not established himself as a player at this point in time, simple as that. So why is he on the voting list as an “all star” player? Many of us don’t have the reputation Blu does just because he is ALWAYS streaming tournaments for the community to enjoy and his name is plastered everywhere, so now he may be taking one of the spots “away” (unless his hard work/practice gets him up to the level come August) because it seems the community is just voting for him since they “know him and not the others.”
The last frustration is to everyone saying they don’t know the players in the pool. I’m pretty sure if you watched a few of the ESL weeklies or checked out the teams that registered, you would see the players at one point or another.
I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way… but Anet dropped the ball BIG on this one. Blu wholeheartedly deserves the trip, but it should be as a shoutcaster.
Not like he’s getting anything for it…haha. Maybe he played top players in those wins so he earned a lot of rating. Meh.
Voted since we are lovers. Do me proud if I don’t make the cut
Well, since everybody else is doing it, figure I’ll join in.
To start, I consider myself a pretty humble player so you won’t hear me brag about being the best or anything like that. I think I’m a great player and I’ll let my gameplay speak to that measure rather than my ego. I’m a quieter guy generally until you get me in a team/TS then I’ll come alive. I started streaming around April/May for a bit then took some time off since I’ve been on a clinical rotation for grad school. Right now, don’t try to look me up on leaderboards or you’ll immediately write me off. Instead, for those that consider leaderboard ranks to mean something, check me here: http://www.gw2score.com/PvP/player/Chaotic9742
Game wise, if you know me it’s probably from my guardian or ele play. I played guardian as my main since beta but took a break around Feb 2013. I started back up in August 2013 and began getting back to my former skill and took it one step further. I first started playing the “competitive” pvp as the bunker for Disney Channel in early 2014. On this team, we won many weekly tournaments up until the team separated. Since then, I’ve played with many of the top NA players in PUG groups or just 1v1/2v2/etc. I’m sure that most of them would vouch for me and what I’m able to accomplish in game. With the revival of d/d ele, I returned to it to relive the days just after launch where I played both ele when I tired of playing bunker guard in tpvp. My most recent ele showcase before I had to leave was one of the 2v2 cups in June where I teamed up with Quilja to take 1st after we were able to take down the Zoose/Caed duo (great matches btw if you haven’t seen them: http://www.twitch.tv/blu42/b/537322674 ). After those games, I had to let my kitten heal from the abuse it received in those matches, so I went off to my clinical rotation for some R&R.
Aside from that, if anybody wants to know anything else about me feel free to ask! Just wanted to get my name out there a little bit so I can have a shot at Germany.
Vote for me – send me on vacation before school consumes me again! Seriously tho…this would be my summer vacation haha. Thanks for your support!

And i love you Nessie
Aww love you too boo.
And I would sell myself but I’m away on clinical rotation for school so I don’t have the time to play/promote right now so we will see what happens. Don’t rly have much to sell unless I link vids from past tourneys or something haha.
Not me apparently haha. Nobody seems to watch the Mistpedia/ESL games and remember me.
Don’t be sad. At least now people know your name.
Yea it’s just frustrating more then anything when I read all the posts saying “I voted for phantaram and blu because I don’t know any of the others.” It’s like really?? All of these names are in the weeklies and have been in the big tournaments and you only know 2 people. One of which is a shout caster. Time will tell, maybe I’ll be surprised haha.
Not me apparently haha. Nobody seems to watch the Mistpedia/ESL games and remember me.
This is the same reason why the Special Olympics were created, maybe lobby Anet to create a Special ToL where people who are deaf/blind/have no arms can compete with each other. Other than that, there is nothing that says that teams in this game are not allowed to discriminate in who they accept.
The level of stupidity in this post alone makes me giggle. You do realize that I’ve already mentioned that I played college division 1 tennis? Being deaf has nothing to do with my athletic abilities so that comparison to the special olympics was in very fact, however ironic, kittened. The special olympics were mainly created for those with physical disabilities, not deafness lol. What the actual kitten? You do know there’s a deaf football player for the Seahawks now? Everyone said that football is too much of a team sport and requires a lot of communication but…they managed to make it work somehow and look, he’s laughing his kitten off at the people who said he couldn’t do it. That’s why the ignorance of the people not exposed to this kind of thing really doesn’t cease to amaze me.
And this is a video game. I’m pretty sure a lot more work is required for actual ATHLETICS than a video game. Training and all. And no, team queueing every day as a training regime does not compare to working out in the gym, running, actual sports practice, drills, etc…So with all due respect, those of you who take this game too seriously to not even give someone the benefit of the doubt…Go outside kittens. Get off your kitten and actually play or take part in a physical activity. E sports. Lawl sauce. Don’t make me laugh. I just want the entertainment of participating in an online tourney, nothing beyond that.
Funny how you took his post so literally. He was alluding to you have a disability compared to others. The special olympics was created for those with a disability. Hence, Anet should make a special ToL to be the “esports equivalent of the special olympics.” It was meant to be a joke…sarcasm…
As backpack and others have said, this game is highly communication based if you are trying to actually win at high end pvp. It requires rapid relaying of things that typing/reading will hinder. If teams devise a system to communicate, take the time to learn it and do some games to perfect communication with you (because if they give up before its perfected you will call them kittens anyways), then they determine you aren’t a fit for the team/high enough caliber, then they just wasted all their time. They want to just pop a guy in the lineup, do some games, try the next one out and find a fifth. Simple and fast this way. They don’t try you out – we get it, you’re mad but don’t target them with your frustration for them acting in a pretty reasonable way. Find a team that will give you the time or make your own and quit trashing people who don’t “give you the benefit of the doubt.” Just because they don’t give you a tryout doesn’t mean they are kittens as you seem to jump to. I’ve been on a team with a “mute” member and it was hard enough to accomplish our victories at times at high end pvp, if she didn’t have the ability to listen on TS it would have been near impossible to achieve what we did – of that I’m sure. ToL teams want to win and get better rewards. They don’t want to make it harder on themselves then it already will be. Sorry you can’t accept this response from people.
#thievesguildOP
This may just be my impression but is it possible that people are missing a certain point?
The issue wouldn’t seem to be that s/he was denied a spot on said team, it’s that they rejected her/him without a try out.
It wasn’t that they took a look at what s/he can bring to the table and decided the X factor wasn’t worth it. It’s that they assumed, in pure theory, that this player has nothing to offer because of an attribute distinguishing them from the majority of players, just as the majority of this thread does. There is, frankly, something pedestrian about that kind of thinking.
I doubt OP would’ve taken issue if s/he had been allowed to showcase what they are capable of but was rejected, even if the reason remained the same.
The difference lies in the assumption. You can’t know what you have in front of you, if you refuse to take a look at it.I don’t see the harm in giving a player in an unusual personal situation the respect of a simple chance. If it doesn’t work out, so what? It’s just a tryout,
Or maybe they don’t want the hassle of learning a system to communicate on top of everything required to get a team up and running. It’s hard enough to get 5 people to work together let alone throw this X factor in. NOTE I’m not saying that what they did isn’t unfair at all, but it is their decision as to what they want on their team. I guess they wanted to spend time trying out others without the X factor in the equation. Such is life – everything isn’t fair.
To many people to quote so I’ll just say a few things to what I’ve read in here…
The fact that you can call for a condi clear, heal, peel, call number, etc is vital as it means people can focus on what they are doing and divert support when you call for it rather than worrying all the time about your teammate or overlapping cooldowns trying to condiclear that immob off your teammate, for example, but they pop theirs right when you do yours so effectively somebody wasted a cooldown they didn’t have to.
Too*
Also if your team has to type everything out then you spend more time staring at your chat log and less time paying attention to the fight which could lead to you eating a lot of damage.
(If the too* is supposed to be a grammatical correction for me, I respectfully decline and will keep it as to.)
But yea, looking to read/type/communicate is the crux of this whole ordeal. It’s faster to talk as long as the person isn’t calling a play by play of what’s happening.
I can only talk about pvp as I don’t WvW much so here goes.
DPS med guard in soloq is viable at any part of the bracket IF you know how to play it vs each class. It can be very unforgiving in some matchups so always be on your toes and land those blinds/time your blocks. Build wise, my go to is 2/1/6/1/4 gs+sc/fc with zerker ammy and pirate runes (or travelers if you feel slow/don’t want the bird). Sigils can be changed as you feel necessary. Air/fire if you want more burst potential, generosity if you struggle vs condi, and force for the flat damage bonus. I will generally air/fire both sets unless the team has 2-3 condi heavy classes then I will swap for a generosity. Bunker guard can work, but you need to be able to 2v1 for a long time as most of your teammates won’t rotate in time at lower levels so it’s best to save that until later in my opinion.
To many people to quote so I’ll just say a few things to what I’ve read in here…
While I get the frustration, I do see why they turned away from you on the roster. I’m not saying it isn’t fair (because it sucks to be in your situation and have this happen to you), but the actuality of reading or typing in chat versus a higher caliber team during a match can spell disaster. Since macros aren’t available (that would make it easier if they were), typing just isn’t feasible as those couple of seconds to relay a message can be life or death for you or a teammate. Setting up a number system is great, but it requires people to learn it and it may be too vague at times as you need more than what may be thought i.e. stomping, peel for me, heal me, condi clear, xxx people here at xxx node, pushing xxx node, etc etc. Just way too many numbers for all these situations to keep straight/commit to memory on short notice. Teams right now want somebody they can just pop in the lineup and easily communicate with and focus on strategy and team synergy. They don’t want to deal with an X-factor so that means it isn’t fair that you may be a great player but people won’t give you the shot because of the extra work it would be for them.
And to the comment on TS being useless for teams? I just don’t even… The teams you are talking about clearly don’t reflect the ones I’ve been in where we call EVERYTHING (within reason). Now, I will agree that TS is not needed for an experienced team vs a less experienced team. In those matchups map awareness is generally all you need and the general team synergy that has been built through countless games prior so movement is fluid and roles of the members commit to memory. For evenly matched teams, the one with TS wins hands down.
Someone say top necro? i kid
…but seriously no comment on OP’s post…
Zombi go home, you’re drunk
Removing downed state will just make people roll full on tank for fear of dying. No thanks.
It really is an obscene advantage when in a team fight and in certain 1v1’s. A lot of the time it all depends on the graphics clutter from skills that fill your entire screen with every color in the rainbow followed by something you normally would dodge but can’t because you’re busy trying to not have a seizure. Sometimes team fights are just ridiculous when you have tons of AoE going and you can’t see anything. If you had the ability to tone down these animations, I feel like that would be a step in the right direction to making asura skills more visible.
Ultimately, something needs to be done to see the tells of asura skills so skilled play/counterplay can have a chance. Whether that option is to set enemy models to human, for example, or scaling enemy size to a standard size you set. If you refuse to do that, at least let us adjust skill animation severity so we have less clutter obstructing things we would like to see.
Not to be rude or anything. But you’re on your soapbox preaching like you’re top guard world and honestly, I’ve never seen your name before now.
On to the matter at hand – SoR is situational. Simple as that. Remember around release when SoR was the meta heal? I sure do. Then the transition to shelter happened but a few still stuck with SoR for a bit longer. I mean, even now people run healing breeze recently so dont try to preach about shelter being the only viable choice.

Quilja is the only one I know of right now active. I ran dps guard with him as well but I’ve been on break for the past few weeks so my decay will be nasty.
