There really isn’t a “most powerful” guild in WvWvW because different guilds fight in different ways examples would be Talon’s and AoN prefer Open field combat while other guilds prefer breaking into Keeps.

You cannot determine a best when there are different play styles like that you have to be more to the point as to the best at what in WvWvW?

Guards will respawn in the time it takes you to run supply can ruin what hard work you put into that ram. Not to mention you have to deal with regularly respawning veterans while you ram the gate, veteran archers attacking you from above, and even when you break in you have to solo a champion and more veterans.

That’s assuming that in those 15 minutes no player checks on those white swords in the tower. lol.

I however use Superior Catapult over a Flame Ram for that very reason on every tower and keep there is a side or rear wall that the guards will not rush to defend when it gets attacked unless you aggro them to it.

Catapult for increased damage against walls and Superior because for 10 extra supply you get in a lot faster. Players are a problem however that is why you attack solo when they are distracted by something else. Ironically it normally works when they themselves are Zerging something else.

you realize that you can’t really take a tower solo right? You need at least three people to get up one ram. Five people to get up a catapult, ten to get up a trebuchet, etc. etc.

A ginormous part of wvw is siege and assaults won’t succeed without large numbers of people.

It hasn’t stopped me from trying my endgame for GW2 is to Solo a Keep.

You can get up any siege solo you just have to place it well and take your time. Is it likely to fail? Yeah it is but when it works you feel pretty awesome or at least I do.

I have broken into Keeps before alone but that was many months ago before a lot of people learnt siege placement.

Because I don’t like the thought that I’m being carried by nothing more than good luck to have more bodies behind me than enemies in front of me.

I was just fighting a Kaineng Mesmer on the Dragonbrand BG from Team Legacy and it was a fun fight, no victor though as people decided it was a good idea to come join in every so often we each ran away a bit and then Dragonbrand decided to try and take Greenbriar tower in the middle of our fight.

Either way I like fighting you whoever you are mystery mesmer it’s a shame we didn’t manage to finish it.

(And I really am seeing the value of condition removal in stealth as a trait now.)

I highly recommend changing your build and gear if you’re losing 2-3 people to a glass thief. It’s apparently happening to you often if you’re posting a thread about it.

Either that or the thief is really good and makes me feel terrible.

The problem in this game with thieves is staying stealthed while taking damage. Most games i have played the stealth characters are automatically revealed when hit.

Well there are ways to do this if you trait in the right way anyway when using my Leeching venom’s-Signet of malice build I will use poison AoE clouds and Caltrops to track them from my healing ability for example.

The jumping puzzle is in WvWvW a PvP area where as the name states you are intended to fight and kill each other.

If Arena net wanted you to get badges of honor without the risk of death it would not be implemented in a PvP area. To create a legendary are you not meant to master all aspects of the game? Is that not the point to the Badges being in the recipe to begin with to earn it through combat?

As for trolls? No not trolls they are simply players who realize where people who want to make a legendary as easiest possible way are going to go and are going to camp it for free loot essentially it’s your fault for walking into an area well known to be a trap not theirs.

Really if you want your legendary your going to have to play risk for reward.

A thing I found a lot about Thieves or people wanting to play thieves.

They complain they die a lot if they built Glass Cannon Backstab and asked why I didn’t die as much so I asked them a question have they put points into Precision and if so why?

If your going to go Glass Cannon Backstab as I assume you are by “Glass Cannon” when you have your traits at critical 30 consider Hidden killer – 100% critical hit from Stealth so you won’t need Precision so much. I chose to put it into Vitality and as such equipped Runes of Wurm to enhance this (Vitality + Crit damage %) it helps you live a little longer.

Though I was running with a lv 11 Mesmer in WvWvW and I thought personally it was brilliant so I’d recommend Mesmer over Thief, pulling groups off of walls and cliffs is more fun than people give it credit.

I never used food and I did just fine really even against others using food buffs.

But do tell what is this change?

I only came to FSP last week I saw a video on youtube and thought it was worth checking out and really the fighting has been some of the most fun I have had so thank you to UW and FR for them.

Hang on I’m a bit late on the up take but where did it say we are getting more PvE and Dragons?

I don’t know how to feel about that it really depends on how it’s implemented if it is of Strategic importance then okay if it’s just another random thing that people come from PvE to fight like Jormag and take up slots when they are needed I think i’ll give up.

I can’t remember who I fought against yesterday in Yak’s BG over the temple of storms I think it was a Necro, Ranger and a Thief.

Either way that was the most fun I’ve had in WvWvW in about three weeks since I fought Borlis Pass. It’s a shame the fight was decided when Dragonbrand decided to come along and Rofl-stomp the Temple of Storms into the ground and chase us both off instead of seeing which one of us would win the skirmish.

Ps – If I may offer some advice if the people in the fight are reading this, You were surrounded by weakened Krait it would have been easier for the Downed Thief/Ranger to revive by taking down a weakened Krait allowing the Necro to continue fighting me so I couldn’t hide and heal than to drop everything and revive him.

Dragonbrand just raided a tower, Cliffside to be exact about 5 minutes ago Majority seemed to be the guild TFK I think it was? Something similar.

Anyway very well done on the tower and all but I would ask you to please keep an eye on your thieves currently in that group we witnessed one of the just run through our gate still up and being seiged to attack our players in the tower a good distance out of any AoE range using an the Arrow cart behind the gate where she shouldn’t have even been able to get to with the gate and walls still up.

She then proceeded to run up the stairs and attack out commander next to the supply depot.

Is there anyone in Dragonbrand I can PM about this I have a list of what I remember of her appearance, it’s not much but well if it was a hack it might help keep your other players out of association with it and out of trouble.

It is possible that the thief could have bugged inside the tower? I have heard of people getting pulled by the invaders inside a tower before past the gate or wall. The thing is that people would expect the person to exit the tower ethically, but would the invaders allow the person to walk out without attacking him/her? :P

I was at that tower assault and did not know anything about it till you mentioned it here. Either way, there is not much that can be done unless you have a screenshot. I dont think someone is going to get kicked out of a guild based on verbal description and physical proof.

Being pulled through would suggest they were knocked down with the pull right? But it appeared as if they came through running not on knockdown. To be honest I thought it was just a summoned Illusion from a Shatter mesmer that had done something strange at first and probably still would if they hadn’t started using Thief skills. I’d ask the guy on the Arrow Cart who got attacked to comment but I’ve already forgotten his name so I’d have to go spam team chat again to find out who he was.

The problem is there are many ways it could happen but the way we saw it was that they came from our entrance, Stealthed and attacked the Cart user that is all I can offer I know not much and makes it sound like I’m whining, said I hated being this guy right?

And no I agree no one will or should be kicked but it might raise awareness in one way or another and if it was a glitch or hack catch them out next time or discourage them from doing so again which would be my goal here.

I’m hanging around still so if I notice anything again i’ll see if I can sort you out with a screenshot though it’s awkward for my computer strange key bindings, if not just might be something to keep one eye out for tonight just in case.

I normally just go stealth, Steal + Basilisk Venom and Backstab, I don’t really notice your Guild tag that much if I am totally honest compared to other such guilds as shown below.

Well i’m from Ehmry so its kind of slanted but PK, GH, FTF as i’m a older member of the server and they have been around, would have said Hyru but they changed server ages ago (miss you Trist :P)

Yak’s Bend – CL as is both Chile and Huegres? (I can’t remember how to spell it but I know it’s a H) for the reason’s they transferred to Yak’s.

Emery bay is like Dragonbrand x 5 but without the need to exploit to win.

I heard Yaks Bend and Maguuma had to basically teamup against Emery bay to beat it.

Emery bay has a zerg/commander in all maps at all time. They dont sleep, they dont celebrate holidays, im not sure if they even do anything else other than WvsW… Christmas eve and they are zerging.. with 3 commanders leading them.

Christmas Eve? Please, I was still fighting Borlis Pass at Dawn’s Tower on Christmas day.

It’s thread’s like this that actually make me worry if I’m a good or a bad Thief I wish people would complain less about Thieves and the burst damage it makes me self conscious.

I’ve started using my Stealth and Short bow more now anyway to help in large battles by Immobilizing nuking classes or Enemy commanders to be burst down by my side and secure the most badges we can if we make them fall back. I don’t understand why people seem to be set that Dagger/Dagger is the only thing Stealth Thief ever uses it’s really based on the situation in my opinion.

Let’s not get like that guys ^^ We could all tell stories to put each other’s armies to shame and say get strategy but what is the point it just creates bad blood between servers.

I agree, but since RE is the only collective large WvW guild on the server atm, we can not be in more than one map at a time, when we flip something, we can not afford the manpower to man it and still move on. Everyday myself and other commanders have been working to get our PUG’s learned up but still a very daunting work in progress. If RE were to focus on defending something without moving on we could hold a tower or keep against 40 man zergs for hours on end with less than 10 people. But this is all a numbers game for DH, and we fall short on the stick right now. If myself and 2-6 other people can hold Ogrewatch tower against FA and CD zergs for 8 hours straight on friday reset, I seriously doubt we would have any issues with most other servers. But at this time in our server, RE can not spend the man power to try to defend anything. We actually had 8-10 hour shifts once in our guild for defense, but with lack of organized support of other guilds we can not do it anymore.

If it is any morale boost to your guild and Server RE has put up the most difficult and entertaining fights I have had this week and over all have killed me more than any other guild from either Darkhaven or Borlis and are easily the first Guild tag not from Ehmry that I recognized this round. I would urge your server to congratulate your guild on their efforts regardless of the result on Friday.

I’d offer your members some form of Christmas present as a sign of good will but last time I tried offering anyone a present it didn’t end well so I hope a thank you for the entertaining week will be enough.
