You’d be surprised…When I was playing S/P and I wasn’t even ’Zerker I went full knights people would just see the thief icon and give up because of this silly viewpoint we will kill everyone in one hit, stand there and take the full hit when I was rooted every single time.

Yeah we do. I lament about AR’s numbers all the time… If only their population were more stable. They have tremendous potential with all that tenacity they show on the field.

I can’t see it being to successful at the moment if it were trying to attract external guilds to AR. I know I’m probably going to get an unholy hoard of hate for pointing this out but I think their alliance at this time might actually harm their chances of gaining transfers.

But you have to think about it this way it doesn’t matter what their current members think about it but instead what do potential transfer’s see when they look at it and what do they think?

Also, Waffler, Rapid fire can’t be evaded by strafing, it locks on to you(although now that I remember, I have never tried strafing vs Rapid fire so I might be totally wrong here).

Nope it follows you and changes angle so that it tracks your location and range while in stealth, I used to use this when going P/P thief with Unload to track enemy thieves who where initiating Hide in Shaodow on low health before switching to Sword/Dagger it can be very useful.

One thing I’ve never noticed on BP & AR are small tactical groups. If you guys would find a grp to do this, you could be flanking FTF/GH/PK or running interupts, much like Sekz & GF does.

Well hard time maybe not, when both servers are pushing on another server on reset night (As it is designed to happen! Just look at the map layout) the defending server can only reasonably expect to hold Garrison, North camp and the two North towers as they are closest to spawn Waypoint while flipping the North west and east camps when they can.

So I wouldn’t say hard time it was really just an expected result of an even number fight over a borderland we happened to be defending.

OK, I’m bored/curious so I want to ask a question to bp/eb players.
I recently changed to a Flamethrower build on my Engi; and it seems to be effective to me (seems to tag a lot of people for drops at least…).
Opinions from the other side?
Char Engi with a pink hat and a Flamethrower from AR; [ALS] tag.
Rest of set generally dyed based on whatever color we are this week
(haven’t tried to run into an enemy portal since I started doing that….)

Well really I don’t think we are able to answer that without knowing what we should grade you in 1v1’s, small group combat or zerg wars ect.

I can’t remember fighting you but I think it would be easier for those who have fought you to say good or bad if they knew the context in which you wanted to be judged.

To be honest I find Blind is a better ability to use on a downed person pre-finisher as you can still be hit in stealth, knockdown ect but you cannot be if they’re blind and miss their downed abilities though when you think about it Ele’s have the best ability to down you without you being able to fight back by using Mist Form to become Invulnerable.

As someone is plays a glam exclusively in wvw I have to admit it probably did need a nerf but 50% is too extreme. It pretty much forces us to play other builds, way to narrow our choices down Anet… GW2 already doesnt have the depth of builds that GW1 did and now they are taking more viable builds away from us,,, not that big of a surprise, they nerfed constantly in GW1.

I’m not sure if it needed the damage nerf to be honest just the way the damage was applied, For example I don’t think Confusion should damage on Elementalist Attunement swapping or using a healing/Cleanse utitility or Passive damage like a Thieves Caltrops should not do continued confusion damage to the thief if you know what I mean.

Really I think Confusion should have stayed at the same damage but caused damage on weapon slot skill use imo.

So I did this tactic earlier and it made me consider a question, anyone able to answer it would be great.

Essentially I did a Shadow Step to get behind Borlis Pass in their Garrison(Ehmry Held) on the outer wall, Went stealth and dropped a [Smoke Screen] for the Smoke field combo and then opened a Dagger storm in the middle of the Smoke field to cause Blinding Bolts.

Now what I was wondering as Dagger storm has a bounce from target thing going on in that scenario does the Blind from the combo-field also carry over to the ricochet daggers, if so I found my new favorite thing. If not ah well.

P/P: This weapon set needs some love. As it stands, P/P is useless without a blind buff or access to stealth.

I was thinking today why doesn’t Black Powder have the same ability as Blinding powder? Where it causes Stealth and blinds as a field but costs initiative.

But then I guess that would make D/P builds even more stupid powerful so I wouldn’t even know where to begin balance on that one which I guess is why A-net didn’t do it that way.

I don’t really care for your hunt of whatever but this point, Unless it is a siege I tend to let an up level go unless they attack me first and even then I mostly just downed state them and walk away, A little compassion can go a good way to keeping the WvW population at a good level imo.

So yes I would say let the up levels go along unless they pick the fight but that is just me, killing up levels proves nothing after all.

I found a friendly Borlis Pass today ^-^ though it took a while and a downed state to get the message across that I was more interested in jumping around you than fighting.

Then all your friends kept trying to gank me. :/

Just curious as to why. i used to see people using it all the time now its just D/D thieves.

I believe that S/P got nerfed with Pistol Whip and then the food nerf on lifesteal on Critical caused a lot of people to believe it could no longer be tanky.

Personally I used it as a tanky build even without the lifesteal and although it was fun for a while it just wasn’t able to do well enough to run with my friends without feeling like I was weighing them down.

Though now I’m using P/P as my secondary so I apparently never learn.

My simple request to people who demand nerf on a thief would be to simply play one first and try Backstab, Condition but then also try a S/P combination and running a P/P thief.

Consider all the options/builds and how your nerf would effect them not just the most used and then decide what needs nerfing.

Just for clarification, if you transfer from Tier 7 to Tier 5, does that still make you an elf because you transferred from a relatively losing server to a relatively winning servers or is it only people that transferred to Tier 1? And if you became an elf by transferring to Tier 1, can you transform back into a dwarf by transferring to Tier 3, or are you forever bound to your elvish fate? Does one become more of a dwarf by transferring down more tiers, or is their dwarvishness only determined by how much the server they transferred to is losing in their current match up? These all seem like highly relevant issues.

To clarify, yes if you went from any losing server to any winning one, you are an elf, and no, redemption is at hand, harken to me! Xfer to Mag (if you’re oceanic) and you can become a manly dwarf(maybe even as manly as Gimli son of Gloin). Maximum dwarfness is attained by xfering to mag and playing oceanic time zone. THAT IS ALL>

So I don’t know if you lot know my transfer history yet but I technically went from Losing (US) > Winning (EU, lower tier), Losing (EU, Higher Tier), Maguuma (highest tier to date).

YB and DB will always end up betraying any kind of mercy shown towards them.

I found a few cool DB players, one BP thief in particular who just stopped and had a chat with me randomly last week. Though they are mostly ever only people who duel and Fightclub so Quantity is limited this tier.

I crit for 3-5K depending on the target I have crit for 7K but only on uplevel players.

What should you crit for? Well that depends on you and what you are comfortable with I for example am not comfortable without running some toughness in my armor which lowers my Crit damage but it is my comfort zone.

Find your comfort zone with a balance between Crit damage and whatever else you want your build to do and you will be just fine you don’t need to crit for 7K or whatever like people put on youtube and video’s to win a fight, just fight smart.
